Great coffee, cool spot but a bit surprised that as a tea house there was no decaf tea, perhaps worth the investment for future?

I came here on a long -held mission to visit this place which looked so promising from everything I had read about it. I visited the cafe and purchased beans in the shop. I absolutely loved the decor, and reading about the history of the shop in a lovely printed guide in the cafe. Yet I left a little disappointed. Perhaps I had built up unreasonable expectations from waiting to come for so long, but I found the service in the shop to be less than I had hoped. Not unfriendly, but not especially friendly either. I was hoping to be advised on the coffee choices, which I was to a degree, but with little warmth or enthusiasm, and I felt I was really just being pointed towards the most expensive options. Fair enough I suppose, as a selling technique, but it left me a little cold. I’m not sure that I would visit again. I enjoyed the coffee I had in the cafe, and the history, but something was missing I felt in warmth and enthusiasm. Perhaps I just caught them on a bad day.

お目当てだったブレンドは日本オリジナルのものだったらしく、見当たらずだったのですが、店員さんがみなさんとても親切に対応くださって、別のおすすめの紅茶とコーヒーを選ぶことができました。地下のティールームもゆったり過ごせました。（お土産にプレゼントしたコーヒーはとても喜ばれ美味しいと好評でした。） とっても素敵なお店です。 セルブリッジのバス停から徒歩ですぐで便利。日曜日お休みなので注意。

Ordered a pot of tea. Served with frightened water. Cakes did not look appealing. Considering Higgins are a tea merchant, quite worrying that they can't make a pot of tea. There were so few leaves in the mesh that it made no contact with the water. This used to be a lovely place to buy tea, now it's just overpriced and out of place. The tea you buy online is well packaged and arrives promptly.

The croissants were not fresh and the cappuccino was far from the specialty coffee they advertise. I wouldn’t go there twice

A fantastic offering of coffee and desirable for anyone with an intrigued palette/enthusiast for discerning between the best and worst of coffee. It is unfortunate that to be able to be afforded such a taste one must venture into the city, The architecture of the building is comforting and welcoming. There is a store upstairs selling beans used by the baristas and V60 filters, grinders etc. It is away from the bustle of Bond Street, so anyone looking to leave their office for a quiet space will find this establishment fitting of such an ask.

We visited for coffee and cake having visited variously over the last 15 years and always enjoyed getting freshly ground + brewed single origin coffee at competitive prices. The cafe is downstairs but was unusually bereft of cake, coffee and customers when we arrived. It was only on returning upstairs to ask were we told that the cafe was closed. There was nothing to say it was closed until then. So I have no idea if it's as good as I remember. We discovered an excellent alternative nearby instead.

王室御用達のお店とのことで訪問。外観も素敵でした。中に入ると日本人の女性スタッフがいらっしゃりお話がスムーズで助かりまし た。（恵比寿ガーデンプレイスと人形町？近辺に店舗があると聞き、帰国後に両店に行きましたが、恵比寿店（三越内）が断然わかりやすいお店で、感じ良いスタッフでした。）ロンドンでは、一番人気のお茶の葉は、前日にいらした方が大量に購入されたとのことでw、ほんのごく僅かしか残っておらず、残っていた50g足らずを購入させていただきました。コーヒー豆も置いてあり、自宅で豆を挽いていただきましたがおいしかった！紅茶、コーヒーともに、再訪時にはまた買いに伺いたいです。

名店。ホテルが近くだったので、なんのリサーチもせずに寄ってみました。とても丁寧に接客してもらい、イギリスの高級店ならでは の、コミュニケーションを楽しみながらの買い物は本当に楽しいです。ミルクと合わせると美味しいもの、そのままがいいものなど茶葉の特徴を色々教えてもらいました。思わず必要以上に買ってしまいました... 紅茶目当てで来ましたが、現地の人はコーヒーばかりなのでとっても気になり、地下のカフェでまず試してみることにしました。風味が素晴らしかったです！ただ、私が選んだものがちょっと個性的すぎて、迷った挙句コーヒーは買わなかったので、次ロンドンに行くことがあったらぜひまた訪れたいです。

Have been visiting this coffee shop for over 25 years. My husband and I found it by chance when we lived in London and instantly felt the charm of a quiet oasis a few minutes from the hustle of Oxford Street. When we first went there was a charming lady who served and with your tea of coffee, she brought a biscuit tin with complimentary biscuits. That just made the special touch that took us back again and again. Over the years the business has changed hands, but it remains a charming oasis. Now living in the US, every time we return to London, we always stop by Higgins.

We have been customers of this business for over 30 years. Their coffee and teas are the finest in London and in the U.K. if our experience is anything to go by. Try and buy. The service is old school and cannot be beaten.

紅茶blue ladyを買いに行きました。ここのお店は対面販売のみなのでうまく注文出来るか緊張しますが、店員さんが拙い言葉を理解してくれるので大丈夫ですよ！買い物終わりには是非階下のカフェでコーヒーを。今回ラテを飲みましたが、コーヒーでこんなに美味くなるんだ！とビックリ。さすがcoffee-manのセレクトですね！

Visitamos esta casa de café por la mañana, alrededor de las 11:00 am. Se sentó y relájese en el sentarse en la zona en el sótano. Muy cómodo, tranquilo y relajante. Café es de alrededor de 5 kilos en un recipiente, puede tener 2 tazas. No es caro en absoluto. Me encanta este café, mucho café que uno puede escoger, en función de un gusto. Sin duda recomiendo personal en consecuencia. Uno también puede comprar paquetes de granos de café o té que no arriba. También compramos sus tiendas de lona bolsa me costó 3 libras como recuerdos, vale la pena comprar. Considerado como uno de los mejores café en Londres con sus propias características. No se debe perder.

高齢の家族と共に訪問。初めての訪問で、見慣れないコーヒーや紅茶の名前、細かな字で書かれた値段表などに戸惑っている中、驚くほど不機嫌な態度で接客をする日本人女性スタッフに怯えながらなんとか注文。コーヒーの入った缶を大きな音をたててテーブルに置いたり、はかりの分銅を乱暴に載せたり、明らかにおかしな様子でした。最後まで目を合わせることも、笑顔を見せることもなく、大変に不愉快で気まずいお買い物となってしまいとても悲しかったです。日本人女性スタッフ以外の方に接客してもらうことを強くお勧めします。

少しだけ日本語を話せる方がいて、丁寧に対応していただきました。私はあまりコーヒーを飲まないので、お薦めや差し上げる方の好みを聞いてくださったりと、気持ちよく過ごすことができました。

No es a menudo tengo que escribir una crítica para tripadvisor en estos días, pero cuando lo hago, me gusta ir a detalle como algunos de ustedes han leído en mis comentarios anteriores. Me encanta el arte del café y el arte latte que viene con él. Y con eso me he aburrido de grandes tiendas de café y doble cadena mi atención para cafeterías independientes. Así, me encontré con mi familia HR Higgins mientras en la manera de laberinto (a la vuelta de la esquina). ID QUE EL PERSONAL ERA USANDO EL NOMBRE DE INSIGNIAS PERO NO RECUERDO NINGÚN NOMBRE, ESTOY HORRIBLE! !

Nous le recommandons lors d’un week-end à Londres. Ambiance agréable et typique anglais. Café fait à l’ancienne et large choix et grand choix de thé en vrac pour une théière qui représente environ 3 tasses ! Prix raisonnable (3,95 pounds la théière).

買い物終わりに訪れましたが、ちょうどよく混みあっていて、とても過ごしやすかったです。コーヒーのお店でしたが、紅茶の品ぞろえも多く、注文するまでに非常に悩んで凄く時間がかかりました（笑）スタッフの方々も素敵な方ばかりで、とても心地よかったです。

We stumbled on this place looking for a spot to take a break from our day's wanderings. It was the smell that lured us in, and the coffee did not disappoint. There are tables and comfy chairs downstairs in a small area where tea and freshly brewed coffee is served in pots and Turkish cakes tempt the drinker to indulge. We had a piece of moist fruit almond sponge slice. Pomegranate and rose feature along with pistachio. The coffee I chose after consulting with the server was spot on - I asked for something not bitter, not too strong. Perfect.

They will cut corners and you’ll only get water for tea and questionable “coffee”. They join in disputes between customers and you could lose out. It varies. Watch out for the tinpot dictator. TBC.

A very small coffee house under a shop (selling coffee). They really sell the connoisseur thing. You can choose from three coffee types and it's an individual filter coffee. You pay for it. £3 for a small cup of filter coffee. £4 for a small bit of cake. Probably won't visit again for that reason. Reasonably nice decor but small. Tables therefore quite close together. Free WiFi. Away from the hustle of Oxford Street. Only cakes available at lunch. Ok service but nothing really stand out from other independent places.

日本では紅茶が有名ですが、このお店は紅茶ではなくコーヒーの王室御用達店です。とはいえ、紅茶の品ぞろえも味も良いので、あまりこだわることはないのかもしれません。コーヒーのクレオールブレンドは、程よい苦味があって、まろやかな苦みがお好きな方にお勧めです。

Come here all the time. Their drip filter black coffee is as good as it gets and there's almost always somewhere to sit. Slower than Starbucks, but that's reassuring!

Whenever we come to London we always pop into Higgins. The Queen most certainly knows where to buy coffee! We buy beans in 250g foil packs, which we take home and pop in the freezer. When you buy 500g you are entitled to a free cup of coffee downstairs...which is an excellent way to discover new coffee flavours! The staff are always most helpful. During our last trip we met up with Mr Higgins senior himself....a delight to share coffee stories!

紅茶で日本では有名なようですが、私はここのコーヒーが好きで、紅茶だけでなくコーヒーも買って帰ります。地下のカフェは階段を下りるのがやや大変ですが、とてもおいしかったです。ビクトリアケーキのおいしさを知ったのはここのお店で、でした。最近は店員さんに日本人の方が加わったので、日本語で相談できますよ。

友達のお土産に購入。大きな缶の中に様々な種類の紅茶が入ってディスプレイされており、気になるものは香りを確かめさせてくれます。また日本人のスタッフもいるので、気軽に質問もできます。

地下はカフェになっており、コーヒーも紅茶も美味しいと言うことで、両方飲んでみました。ブルーレディはフルーティーで広がります。クレオールブレンドは思ったよりも深く、絶妙なブレンドなんだと思います。ロイヤル・ワラントとは言え、どのコーヒーを女王がお好みかは公開していないそうで、、、女王様がお好みのコーヒーを飲んでみたかったです。デザートもコーヒーや紅茶と合いました。

If you are not a morning person - this is your coffee shop. The aroma of ground coffee and freshly baked croissants will wake you up immediately. I really appreciate the warm welcoming attitude of the Barista, great service with lovely behavior wich will cheer you up, especially on Friday's morning. For me, most important thing is the attention - that barista is paying to the coffee while prepared and to the customers. So if you want to be treated well, walking out with an aromatic Cappuccino in your hand and smile on your face - I truly recommend H.R.Higins - Coffee man!!!

We were a few minutes early but the lovely barista opened for us to have some coffee. He was brilliant with my children, showing them green vs roasted coffees and talking about the different varieties. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Well worth a real coffee versus the rubbish coffee from local chains.

こちらも王室御用達ということで購入してきました。おしゃれお店ですが入口が大きくないので見落としてしまうかもしれません。リストを見て注文します。（店員さんはずっとスマホでメールを打っていて、何も聞く気にならず、質問しませんでした…。）アールグレイのティバッグを選びました。ひと箱100袋です。箱にはEarl Greyとラベルシールが貼ってありますが、中身は白い袋で何も印刷されていません。「御用達」ながらこのシンプルさが意外で、お茶のほうはすごく香りがよく、とても気に入りました。

I took my mum who visited me in London to this beautiful and cosy cafe. I had the best coffee since I moved here! I loved it!I am already looking forward to my next visit.

Wanted to take a morning walk and indulge in some good coffee...HR Higgins is a true batista! In business for 30 years at this location for 17. Small, detailed, clean, inviting, simply with a true understand of how/where to get coffee beans, how to blend or crush...delightful!

An oasis of peace from busy Oxford Street. HR Higgins is the only coffee house I have found with Fine Coffees and teas used for everyday espresso and lattes. I chose à coldbrew which was supérior as it had none of The usual bitterness or dull generic taste. Smooth as velvet, with a hint of caramel and a good point to revive me in Méditerranéen températures. I sat on the shaded patio and forgot The sticky heat only metres away. Discreet atmosphere, great for discussing business and a break from traffic jams and people jams. Uniquely 3 blends of coffee on offer each day and single estate loose teas. For the connaisseur.

I usually drink a lot of coffee, especially in the morning, but all we know that's not so easy find a good coffee in London! Few months ago I found this lovely place with a lovely staff, and a very good quality of coffee!

日本へのお土産に豆を購入しました。香りが非常によく、スーツケースの中もコーヒーの香りがし、もったいない気分でした。購入時に密閉できるタッパなど容器の持参をお勧めします。それだけの準備をする価値が有る、良い豆です。地下にはカフェも併設されています。

We have been going to Higgins for many years when we have a few days in London. It is a wonderful shop! Beautiful selection of coffees and teas and most helpful staff to give advice. Of course, you can buy online, but having a free coffee in the coffee room below while your coffee is being packaged, is an added bonus! Well worth a visit if you love real coffee!

The fragrance of fresh brewed coffee in this place is just immense. The staff are friendly and enthusiastic about their brews, pastries are limited in range but unlimited in deliciousness!I am here at least 3 times a week catching up with clients and business partners - it's smart, friendly, quiet enough for conversation but loud enough for private conversations.Brew of choice: Flat white or straight up americano.

This little coffee house has kept up with the times and is a "modern" little gem specializing in coffee and tea - so many varieties. The current owner's grandfather started the business in the 1940's in the midst of the Blitz - photos on the wall bear witness. Our husbands were advised to try a new "special" in coffee from the Galapagos. A powerful flavour and enjoyed by both. If no-one there to advise - ask to see the lists before sitting down.

Whether you're looking to buy some coffee beans (select type and quantity and they'll weigh, price and bag it up) or if you just want a really good takeaway coffee made (downstairs), this is a good spot. Nice quiet area downstairs to enjoy and a great selection upstairs in an olde worlde stylee. Not recommended for pushchairs/buggys etc.

very nice enlarged cafe downstairs, cakes and pastries , no sandwiches, wifi, no longer serve coffee with cream, newpapers, WC .I bought some Guatemala Nueva Granada coffee beans to take home. Excellent quality of coffees and teas.

日本でも購入できるけど、お値段が日本で購入するより安いので、お土産に買って帰ります。おすすめは、フルーツフレーバーのブルーレディ。あと、アールグレイは、ベルガモットの香料でなく、きちんと皮からオイルを抽出しているそうで、それを聞いて、次はアールグレイも購入しようと思っています。

小さいお店だから仕方ないのかもしれませんが、ときどき（忙しいときとか閉店間際に行ったときなど）インド系の男性店員の態度がすごく横柄なときがあります。私はコーヒーが大好きなので頻繁に買いに行くのですが、態度が悪くなるのはいつも同じ人です。インド系の女性店員さんのほうは、どんなに忙しくても感じが良いのに、とても残念です。以前、日本へのお土産として、コーヒーを１００gずつ２０パックくらい買ったときに、その男性店員に逆ギレされて、非常に不愉快な思いをしました。そのときは、４種類くらいのコーヒーを頼んだのですが、「忙しいのに！なんで同じ種類のコーヒーにしないのか？」と言われた挙句に、頼んだものと違ったコーヒーを詰め出したので、「それ、違います」と言ったら、「これだって言っただろう？」と怒られました。しかも、フィルター用に挽いたものをくれと言ったのに豆のまま詰めてきたので、「フィルター用に挽いてって言いましたよね？」と言ったら、「なんだと！？そんなことは聞いていない！」と怒鳴られて、その店員はそのまま下の階に行ってしまいました。その後、その場にいたインド系の女性店員さんが「やれやれ」という感じで、続きを対応してくれましたが、王室御用達の名に恥じる対応だと思います。それから地下のカフェには日本人男性の定員さんもいて、地上階のコーヒー売り場に何かの用事があって来たときに、たまたま日本人のお客さんがいたりすると応対してくれます。（日本人のお客さんの応対が終わったら、またすぐに下のカフェに戻ってしまいますけど）コーヒーにはいろんな種類があって、変わったフレーバーのものもありますが、そういったもののなかで美味しいと思ったコーヒーはありませんでした。そのため、コーヒーなら一般的なもののほうが美味しいです。どちらかというと、コーヒーよりも紅茶のほうが美味しいかもしれません。特にアールグレーは香りと味が絶品です。２煎め以降は味が出なくなりますけど、きちんと入れた一煎目のお茶は最高です。

Service sympathique, convivial. Boissons chaudes au top, variées. Situé au centre de Londres dans une perpendiculaire a Bond Street (au calme, ca fait du bien). Patisseries nombreuses et excellentes (Carrot Cake <3). Pittoresque +++Hautement recommandé !

Great coffees but croissants weren't anything special. Lovely little place, out of the way & stafff very nice. We'd much rather go to a place like this than a chain coffee shop any day.

This is a decent place to go for if looking for single origin coffee. The barista prepared the coffee nicely and the bean is roasted in good condition. This results in the balanced taste and layered flavors. Cheers for a nice cup!

Have been an avid follower of Higgins since I discovered it in the early 90's. I used to work in Grosvenor sq.Whenever in London I love to pop in here for a coffee and to also purchase some ground coffee to take home.Excellent coffee

Now this is a hidden gem. Its small and the stairs down to the café' are steep but its quiet and the range of tea's and coffees are second to none. Pasties are nice but the range of food is limited. A great place to get away to from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street.

Needing to buy some fine quality coffee beans for a family member's birthday present we found this shop online, then visited it today. There's an amazing choice of beans, and a similar number of teas. We chose a selection of Expresso beans, which were packed beautifully in a presentation box. We also went downstairs and had a coffee each ourselves. I had an Espresso, and my husband a filter coffee. Delicious. The ambience was fun too. I'd like to go back.

This is absolutely the best coffee you'll get. Just have the filter coffee. Don't mess around with having a latte or anything daft like that.

Overpriced, overrated. My cake was dry; i had to give up eating it. It must have been out there for quite a long time. My friend recommended this place who visited it last year. He described something very different. I would not recommend it.

H R Higgins have the finest fresh coffee beans and teas in London . Taste any of their coffees and teas downstairs in their cafe / cafe only has biscuits and cakes. Higgins gives new coffees a chance so taste a new coffee there. Been going there for years.Bond Street station on the central line and a very short walk...Algerian Coffee Store in Soho is good as well , Kusmi Tea in Marylebone High Street has a bigger choice of fine teas , but just head for Higgins.
