The Golden Fleece in City of London, Westminster

Had office party there. Food was excellent and lots of beers to choose from

We visited the Golden Fleece for a Friday afternoon Christmas lunch for 19 of us and it was great. The downstairs area with its own bar was just right for us. Emma's service was excellent and we all enjoyed the 3 course Christmas menu. It's a great pub for just a drink too, right in the heart of the City with a relatively fair bit of space out the front to drink outside.

Having first visiting the Golden Fleece when meeting some friends in the city, it has become a regular haunt for our catch ups. It's a beautiful , traditional pub, with a really good lay out, great atmosphere,with the bar located in the middle, and so it never feels empty but also, with plenty of space never feels crowded. The bar staff are always friendly and welcoming, they have a great selection of beers, and if your peckish, they have a great kitchen, and I highly recommend the warm scotch egg.

I have been to this pub many times for work lunches and for drinks after work. The food is always delicious and there is a great selection of beers and wines. The service is prompt and friendly and this is one of my favourite pubs in the City.

My wife, mother, sister and I stumbled upon the Fleece looking for refreshment after a walking tour of Roman London. The pub is a lovely old traditional pub with plenty of seating - not many London city pubs have as much. We sat up behind the bar for some table service lunch. Even for a weekday lunch time we we able to get seated and were served quickly. The food was great. Every one of us enjoyed our meal and ale. Proper good old English pub far like fish n chips, sausage roll, scotch egg, steak pie. And a dizzying array of drinks available on the menu. As you enter the pub you see the bar in the center of the room with wood panelling all over the place. It's a very typical old London pub vibe, very welcoming. What is less typical of my memory of London pubs is the quality of the food. They've sure come a long way since I as last back in old Blighty. Everywhere we ate was top notch, the Golden Fleece included. If you are in the City on business or visiting an attraction like the Amphitheatre or Mithraeum, I definitely recommend the Golden Fleece for a pit stop.

What a lovely pub! Had some drinks with my colleagues and loved it! Great service and atmosphere too! They have a good selection of beers and wines as well as some cocktails. Definitely will be back

My aunt and I are in a pub crawl and this was one of our favorite stops!! Great drinks and food and the services was a 1000/10!!

Excellent venue as always for the last 20 years, but the sports tv is awful since August, intermittent and unwatchable. No reflection at all on the staff. MetPubCo please sort it out or you will lose custom especially in the football season

The fellas were busy chatting and were told by the female bar staff to serve customers. The food was OK, but took a while to arrive. Nice pint of ale. Will visit again and report back on the bar guys. Hopefully they'll be replaced by female staff 😀

Great boozer, with nice space to stand outside in the sun. Good city pub. Eat here quite frequently at lunch too. Decent pub grub, steak sandwich is a go to.

We were looked after really well by the manager, I think his name was Nathan? He personally recommended the chicken skewers, which were absolutely delicious, the second tastiest dish of the night ;) Thanks from all of us Nath!

They were always on hand to assist with anything we needed. The food and drinks were absolutely fantastic! I had the pleasure of trying the Beetroot Hummus, Chicken skewers and Seabass paired with House Wine and Guinness, and they were delicious. Golden Fleece is an excellent spot to hang out with friends and enjoy a memorable time. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! P.S. Make sure to book your seats in advance on football match days :D "

This spot is great for being ignored by the bar staff and for wading through piss in the gents. If it's busy just avoid. Went on warm Thursday evening to meet up with a bunch of old workmates. People spilling out onto the footpaths and side street with a bit of space in the bar. Queued up at the bar where I could see there was bar staff serving. Bar staff not observant onb who was waiting longest and just serving the person right in front of them. After 15 mins of trying to catch anyone's attention, I eventually had to call out the staff for not serving 4 groups and myself. Had to wait another 5 mins. Then went to the toilets. The gents has a door which leads to a corridor narrower than the door itself!! Very cozy brushing up against everyone. There are 4 urinals where you can actually only have 3 people standing without exchanging bodily fluids. One of the toilets was out of order and with a bucket below to catch the overflow. That was enough for me!! I suspect on quieter days it could be a nice boozer. Just need to train the staff on keeping the flow on service, but there are better bars nearby worth a pint.

The Golden Fleece is a good city pub. Large ground floor area with another large area downstairs. Decent beers on tap. Visited on a Saturday so quite quiet like most of the actual city on a weekend. Suspect this place gets very busy on week nights. Nice pub. Recommended.

Courteous bartenders, great vibe and an envious selection of brew make this a must do. Go early if you hope to score a seat.

Don’t go here if you’re American. Took 40 minutes to get our food on a not busy afternoon, yet 2 tables who came in after us got their food well before us. It was very obvious. We had steak sandwiches and they were mediocre. Most of the steak was fat and not edible. Plenty of other pubs who want your money and better food. I had made a reservation yesterday but didn’t need it because there were open tables. I sat myself after asking the bar and then cancelled my reservation because I was 30 minutes early (12:30) instead of 1 PM reservation which is why the booking was cancelled.

A nice pub with some excellent beers on tap. Also a few sports screens... perfect! Tables were cleaned regularly which is great but what ever they clean with is very sticky! Well worth a visit

Stopped here whilst doing a walking tour of City of London and was more than pleasantly surprised to find a friendly pub where you could have a bite to eat and hold a conversation. I can see why city workers enjoy it here as it's more of a typical British pub than the many wine bars or coffee shops nearby.

A large city pub, still connected to its history. Big & squared, high ceiling with faux panels & chandeliers retain the feeling of City of London bank pub. Large central bar with open space throughout, a snug at the back and spacious outdoor street drinking space. Victorian pillars, quarter wood panelled walls and an exposed brick finished top. Large ceiling recesses add to the space and heritage feel with ample, coved and edged lines. Large square, original windows and vast sills for coats and bags. Plenty of visible screens for sport, good vibe music and a busy buzz.

Muy buen pub para ir a tomar unas pintas y un almuerzo. Vinimos después del free tour por la zona de la City, pedimos para comer hamburguesa y fish and chips, todo muy bueno. Estaba tranquilo ya que era lunes y pronto 14-15h. Muy recomendable

Having been to the fleece once or twice over the years, I can confidently say it is very nice. Guinness is tasty and staff are very friendly. Would recommend it to anyone. The perfect London boozer

The staff were fantastic. Food choice good. Had the steak which was great, however, a little cold. Probably due to use of a "dumb waiter", as kitchen is clearly in the basement 🤣

Usually quite busy after work hours. Nice selection to eat and drink. Friendly service. Crowd is nice too. You have a bar downstairs as well, to hire probably.

I’ve been popping in here for a few months now, good service in London is hard to come by these days but these guys are genuinely exceptional. They clearly enjoy their jobs which is a credit to the business (or they are just very good actors). I’d highly recommend a visit, I haven’t had the chance to try the food yet but it always looks great

A lovely pub that serves good food, excellent drinks, and has exemplar service. The staff are all incredibly friendly and even during peak times are always incredibly quick and courteous!

Really gone downhill. Had a mineral water when arrived. Decided to have a cider after. Couldn’t taste the difference, but one was £6 more. Used to be a regular there, but moved away and been there a few times for old times sake. Now I wouldn’t go back. .

Standard City of London pub, even when it's packed they manage to serve fast. Fix the door lock on the loo. There's a hardware store next door. Really zero excuse.

Good little pub, good drink selection and surprisingly nice food, had 5 small plates deal, very tasty. Good place for a rest and refresh. Quiet when we were there but then again it was a Monday lunchtime.

A lovely place for a drink and some food. Recommended after work, it can get really busy. Staff are always happy to serve. Service quick and efficient.

I do wish they would serve all drinks in the appropriate glasses....but apart from that good service, a few TVs you can stand outside pretty spacious and good location.

If you want an authentic London Post-work Pub experience where 300 people stand in a crowd in and around a pub drinking £10 pints and £20 whiskey, trying to hear what anyone else is saying, turn up here on a sunny evening at 5pm.

Popped in here for a quick bite to eat on a break from a work conference. We had a fantastic time. The small plates are the way to go, we all picked a couple of things and ended up with a feast of picky bits to choose from, everything was tasty and hot. We then ended up standing outside in the sunshine for several hours longer than expected. There was an awesome beer range, all of the standard ones as a fall back but a couple of beers we'd never seen before, I quite liked the peach lager but my friend got some hazy pint, think it was called crush. All the staff were friendly and helpful, but in particular we had great banter (even when it was ridiculously busy) with the tall aussie lady, she is definitely the best bartender we have seen in London in a long time, speedy friendly and oh so quick with the witty comments. We will be back very soon. Thank you for for a fantastic summer evening.

Decent selection of spirits and beer. The place can get very busy quite quickly so on many occasions it is unlikely for you to get a table etc. Bar staff could be friendlier for sure!
