The Phoenix in City of London, Westminster

Came as part of a Christmas party last week downstairs (didn't even know there was a downstairs!) The food and drink were great and Cherly and the team looked after us well. Hopefully will be back for next Christmas if not sooner!

I've never had a bad experience at the Phoenix The management and staff always do their utmost to provide a great service. And their club nights are legendary.

8 of us booked a table. When we went to the table it was set up for 6. So we asked the bar staff to get 2 more chairs for the ends and it was a bit squashed. My partner didn't get her chips with her chicken schnitzel so we had to ask for them. We didn't get napkins so I had to go the bar to ask for them. My phoenix burger was soggy underneath and the chicken schnitzel was hard to eat as was tough. Also the chicken schnitzel had no tomatoes in the salad even though it was described as having a tomato salad. Not great ! Apart from that service at the bar was quick and friendly and everything else was good. Massively let down by the food in every respect.

Great hidden gem a minutes walk from Oxford Circus

I was attending a stand-up comedy. The show went well, but the bar staff brought it down by making noise with glasses, clean-up and unpacking boxes. I fell sorry for the artists.

The staff is/are super friendly!

We had a booking for 2.5 hours and were moved from our table after an hour. Not provided another table and then told our booking was wrong. No solution given and just blamed us for the error. Also £7.55 for a Guinness is criminal

We were here after a Christmas party and the horrible service really soured the evening. Our group ordered food as part of the 2-4-1 wings and dippers deal. With the first order (1x dippers, 1x cauliflower wings) the staff tried to charge us £27 when it should have been £9.50, then claimed that we couldn't mix and match dishes when it was clearly written on the menu. With the second order (2x dippers) they didn't deliver the food, and instead claimed that we'd ordered 3x chicken wings. We kept stating that we hadn't ordered any chicken wings but the staff were insisting that we had! We then tried to get a refund and the staff initially refused, but finally gave us the refund. The food itself was tasty, so it's a huge shame that the service is so bad.

The food here is SO GOOD and I can’t fault the service. I’m here every few weeks as I work in the area and Cheryl always greets me with a smile! Never had a bad time here. Also. They do the NICEST salad.

From the moment I sat at the bar, [Bartender's Name fardeen] made me feel welcome and valued as a customer. recently visited the Phoenix and had an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and vibrant. The decor is stylish yet cozy, making it the perfect spot for both a casual night out and a special occasion. The drink menu is impressive, with a wide variety of cocktails, beers, and wines to choose from. I tried the [Signature porn star cocktail] and it was expertly crafted – balanced, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The bartenders are clearly skilled and passionate about their craft. Service was top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. We also sampled some of the food, and it did not disappoint. The instant Burger was particularly delicious, and the portion sizes were generous. Overall, [the Phoenix] is a fantastic place to unwind and enjoy a great night out. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a high-quality bar.

Came here for a daytime work event in the downstairs room. We were well looked after by the team!

Pasé por unas pintas y me encantó el ambiente aquí. Es el tipo de lugar donde te sientes como en casa al instante, gracias a Cheryl, que es muy acogedora y claramente dirige el pub con mucho cuidado. Buenas bebidas, buen rollo, y definitivamente en algún lugar al que volveré.

Gran lugar para el brunch - la comida y el ambiente eran brillantes y fue genial ser servido por Ella, que era muy servicial y amable!

The food was delicious, and I particularly enjoyed being served by Ella who was very friendly and super helpful!

Amazing steak sandwich. Especially at £13 with a drink. Fabulous 👌

The Goated Cheese pizza and fries were really nice but the portions were bigger than I expected. The waitress (Sophia) was really kind and checked in on us throughout the meal. She was lovely. Had a great experience overall.

Will definitely go again because the service was amazing. Sophia was so good, made sure we all were enjoying ourselves. Had a good knowledge of the menu and had us all laughing and enjoying the atmosphere. 10/10 for service Food was good and reasonably priced.

Really nice vybe in this bar! Trendy, much better layout after the renovation and bartender Sophia was so lovely to me and served my table like a star! Will definitely be returning

Special event - Talking Pictures in cellar. Good atmosphere. Tried nachos & pulled pork after show & they were super. Staff very friendly & efficient. Recommended.

No opinion on the food as we didn’t eat, The atmosphere is okay but not the best environment if you’re looking to party the night away. Staff are great but seem to be understaffed. Wasn’t too busy but half the place was occupied. Could have definitely been served a little faster.

For those who think British food is not delicious: Everyone, please come here and try fish and chips! Try schnitzel too! You'll think again about British cuisine! The batter was thin and crispy and fried well. Even though it was a pub, it was a comfortable place even for small children. The order is After taking a seat, go to the counter to order and pay. The food comes out! It was a restaurant of that type?! I was very tired and exhausted. I found an unexpectedly good restaurant I had a fun and delicious meal~ I enjoyed it^^!

Probably had the worst tasting red wine I ever tried yet.

I met a super friendly team at this pub on Saturday, and I think it was the manager who knocked up the best espresso martini I've ever had. They were fun & chatty behind the bar and really made us feel welcome, which made the whole experience a blast. Totally coming back for another round!

Horrible over cooked tasteless burger (the Phoenix burger). Chips were cold. Food over priced. Service ok, and good range of beers.

Fish and chips clearly comes in frozen and not fresh fish with fresh batter like independent pubs. Processed nasty food

We really liked the pub and the atmosphere. The party was nice but we were a bit disappointed that the kitchen was already closed (we arrived around 9pm).

Average, I order a normal mojito, they bring me a strawberry mojito and where is the rum??? We are served a beer in a damaged can, no big deal but without a glass!!!

Posters and flyers all around the pub saying 2 cocktails for £15 We were told "that's wrong" and charged more. The posters and flyers remained around the venue. False advertising!

Farbeen gives great customer service and great selection of beers! Would recommend!

I didn't use the pub I went to an event downstairs in the pub and the music was fantastic but the patrons of the music night were not that friendly, luckily I didn't go on my own.

This West End pub is quite well laid out with lots of tables and seating areas and could be a welcome sanctuary from the bustle of nearby Oxford Street, but both the music and the noise of people having to shout to one another to be heard, spoils its positive impacts. We ended up having to sit outside so that we could at least have a conversation. Draught beers are expensive, even for London, but it's what you'd expect in the West End.

Really relaxed pub with a great atmosphere. Been here for a quiet drink during the day, a meal in the early evening and also for a number of the events held downstairs. Brilliant pub 👍👍

Ordered two pints of madri which cost me over £7 each. both tasted absolutely awful compared to other pubs. expensive and wouldn’t recommend.

Nice enough pub I’ve frequented over the years. but the prices are now utterly obscene. For £7.40 the Guinness would need to be outstanding, but it was a badly poured (all in one go, rushed, resulting a huge head etc) below average pint, there’s many better pints within yards where the bad music isn’t also deafening. X

Fantastic night out with Age Against the Machine playing disco, 80s & 90s downstairs. A must for any over-30! Bring photo ID!

Have been here several times before and it was decent. Absolutely terrible now. I was there for wing Wednesday, 2-4-1 wings...got 4 wings for £9....

Been there a Saturday night, for a 80's music night.Great. I really enjoyed it...they have pub on ground floor and dance floor on basement. Check for different events. Cocktails may look a bit overpriced, but remember u just off Oxford Street . Recommend it.

Shockingly rude staff, terrible attitude and service. Came for drinks and the barman didn’t even speak to us. Never experienced such poor service. Would never come back. Avoid!!!

This is the perfect place to unwind after a trip to Oxford St. Very close to John Lewis and Cavendish Square we popped in and ended staying a lot longer than planned. Great staff with Angie being a stand-out, talk about larger than life and fun. Every pub needs and should have an Ang, made our evening 😀🍾🍻.

BEAUTIFUL PUB TWO STEPS FROM OXFORD CIRCUS. THE EAT IS VERY WELL, EXCELLENT SERVICE, WIDE CHOICE OF BEERS. PLUS THEY HAVE A DANCE ROOM WITH DJ UNDER THE PUB TO EXTEND THE EVENING

Still the good old phoenix,used to be a regular since 1980 while working for John collier in Oxford street now living in Norfolk Have many happy memories, hope to visit again

This is one of my favourite burger places at the moment. Nice atmosphere, good music and really friendly staff. There's a choice of different gins and the beer selection is quite impressive.
