The best restaurants serving British food in City of London, Westminster London

Very disappointing final meal in London! Our family was leaving London the next day so we thought a “farewell” meal on the canal would be a great ending to a great holiday. However, our reservation of six (6) was seated next to a loud & lively party of eleven (11). While the restaurant was busy, they could have easily secured us a table a bit farther away from this group. They were very loud with no situational awareness, as multiple people in their party would push past us to speak to others in their group, including having their rear ends in our table! Moving on, our server was incredibly disinterested in us. It took the server 10-15 minutes simply to acknowledge us. He didn’t ask if we wanted anything to drink. He simply asked what we wanted to eat. The only good part of this experience was the food. Everyone enjoyed their meals but we were quick to leave the restaurant after finishing, opting to go elsewhere for dessert and coffee/tea.

Came here with my friends on Friday, was served by Nicholas and Khalid, they were very friendly and made sure everything we needed was attended to, made the visit very pleasant, 10/10 from me.

Went for a birthday celebration, table booked for 3.30 left 5.45! Left waiting for for 35 mins for sandwiches - well four on a huge plate and very small, tea arrived 10 mins after we sat down. After asking what was happening was informed the cup of soup had run out and we could have the sandwiches first - not ideal but we went with it. Again Luke warm and average I can’t call it a sausage roll it was no bigger than my thumb nail. By the time the cakes arrived they were setting up for evening service !! Had a slate with happy birthday and given a box to take it away in case we were full and then asked to pay. When we said how we feel the rude receptionist didn’t like what we said - we just said we was disappointed- £150 for 2 people with one glass of pink fizz each £10 of the bill was for bottled water. I would definitely NOT call this an afternoon tea, in my personal opinion do not waste your money there is far better and far cheaper for example the Ritz

One of the top restaurants in Norwich. Beautiful food. Great host, Alex, always on hand to give optimal service. Small elegant restaurant with out the stuffiness. Innovative menu but don’t expect the foam with stick pretence. Not here. Prepared with care and you won’t leave hungry. A wonderful place for special occasions or if you just want a fabulous meal. Reasonable prices for what you are served

The actual pub was very atmospheric and charming On the day of our visit which was Easter Saturday half of the menu was not available including the signature meals of Barnsley chop and the steak and kidney pudding We orders three starters and five main meals I ordered a pot of tea which was only half full when it arrived no milk when I asked for milk I was given a small jug of hot milk ! Our mains arrived before the starters ! And I said oh we ordered starters and the waitress they are coming And then shortly afterwards our starters arrived So we ended up with our starter and main meal together Which we found rather strange We complained to the manager who didn’t seem very perturbed about this he did apologise but offered no discount On checking the bill we had been charged for three starters when we only received two and a side which we did not order On paying the rather hefty bill my husband asked for the service charge to be taken off ! All in all I would not go back to this pub nor would I recommend it to anyone Poor service I felt the manager did not deal with our complaint effectively

We stayed at the Dean Street Townhouse in early April 2025 for about 5 days and absolutely loved it. The hotel is perfectly located in the middle of SoHo but out of the bar fray by about a block, right next to the subway line that takes you to Heathrow. We found that this location was in the middle of everything we wanted to do - in SoHo, easy bike or walk or subway to Mayfair, St James, theatres and the City. The SoHo club up the street is fantastic as are the restaurants within a block. We loved coming back home - the staff were wonderful and very helpful with recommendations. They also took great pains to get us into our room early when our flight got us there long before check in. The room was excellent - great bed, all the things like chargers that you need, and the most incredible amazing shower I’ve ever had in a hotel. London is great regardless but have to say that staying here would be a big decider in coming back to London again soon. Great service really reliable for allergetic questions, on top great food and great drinks. Absolute most favorite pub in London.

Very nice setting and all the Chesterfield benches invite you to relax.
