Cameron that was working there up until 7th April 2024 on the bar has to be one of the most amazing individuals I've come across. Amazing customer service, a wonderful soul and a gem for the establishment. I truly wish her the very best, a warm welcome and a truly amazing person, especially on my first visit. Well, It took me a while to revisit this Soho House establishment, one that I used to visit regularly from its inception and I was looking forward to Brunch with my Mother and friends. Always an elegant interior and seemingly on-the-ball staff which sadly turned out to be a kind of deception. I arrived with my partner first (a booked table) and discovered 15 mins later that one of our guests had been seated (by reception) elsewhere. Agog, we put this behind us but worse was yet to come with the service. I must say that our waitress did a marvelous Mrs Danvers (Daphne du Maurier-Rebecca) impersonation. Every attempt she made to smile turned into a grimace and I was reassured by the 5 other guests that I was not imagining it. The food: Brunch. Scrambled eggs were so 'scrambled' they seemed to occupy different areas of the plate. The bacon was like leather, the fried eggs devoid of a runny yoke. Tattie Scones were worthy of a new kind of rubber with a Lorne sausage (described by our Mrs Danvers as a 'skinless sausage') that could injure someone if thrown, with ease. The toast, over toasted and like the other faulty servings, lazilly prepped. The poached eggs were good and I heard the sausages were decent also. My coffee was warm just above cold and was kindly replaced by a slightly frustrated, but friendly, Manager. Honestly, I have had much better food at Bruno's, The Regency, Pellicci's or any other greasy spoon you care to mention which is some kind of embarrassment to DST. I'm sure (hoping) that if I revisit the place it might not be so bad and perhaps it was that it was so quiet when I attended that the staff and the chef (most culpable) did not care. £20 Service Charge, which I should have questioned but didn't. It was my Birthday and I made the wrong decision. Was sad, but hey.

This restaurant provided the worst service, if I could give zero stars I would. Right after I set down a server poured water over my whole dress and walked away without apologizing or helping me in any way. I tried to dry off some of the water but ended up having to sit on a wet chair in a drenched dress. Again, no apology. We complained to the team but no response. The server then came back being really aggressive and shouting at me that no one else would come serve us tonight and that it was my own fault as I had the menu on the glass, „he saw what happened“. I hadn’t even touched the menu, also if you saw that, why didn’t you move the menu? I let him know that his is incredible unprofessional to blame me as the customer and to yell at me aggressively without apologizing honestly. He continued to blame me by saying he saw what happened. It was shocking. When we tried to speak to the manager again, we only got offered that the service charge would be removed. What a joke. Don’t go here if you can avoid it, a street vendor will treat you better than this place. I’m horrified. Mistakes happen but to blame a customer for your own mistake is the lowest of low.

Rooms are quite dated, and I don’t think I’ve ever stayed at a hotel with thinner walls in my entire life. I could hear the guy in the room next to me snoring and giggling away at the TV. My room also had a leak as the room above mine left something running. Tips - ask for a room on the upper floor, bring ear plugs. Overall the rest of the common spaces and area are quite nice.

Absolutely proper disappointing. The afternoon tea was bland and muted. Not a single pastry of note. Paid 37 pounds for mediocre selections of 3 dreary cakes, 3 rock-like sandwiches and some dry scones. No amount of english breakfast can hydrate myself from eating sand. Loved the restaurant, food and service were very good, and they were very accommodating to dietary restrictions too. Sticky toffee pudding is great! Worst thing is using Open Table system for reservations because every time you confirm or make a reservation, you have to go through to confirm the choices for privacy. Open Table needs to improve its antiquated technology - repeat customers should have make those choices ONCE and then it should be stored in their accounts. Open Table has other information on their customers stored in their system, why cannot this be stored also ?

The oysters were ok but not lip smacking how you expect them to be when you order the king of seafood. The Dover sole was poorly seasoned and rather dull. They were replaced with hot and steamy soups. I was a guest so didn't pay, but I hope the cost of the soups was taken off the bill. They should have been. Two of our party had fish and chips. Huge portion of haddock. But placing the battered haddock on top of mushy peas meant that part of the batter got soggy.
