What a spectacular place for a delicious (generously portioned) lunch in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere! I reserved a table for a group of 19 people for lunch and everything was perfect! The messaging beforehand and making the reservation was easy and straightforward. The food was scrumptious, everyone loved the looks and the feel of the place and the service was very much on point! Thank you for having us!

We enter and ask to eat. They tell us to sit down and then order at the counter. I take 5 minutes to look at the menu, I approach the counter and they tell us that the kitchen is closed. Rude, they made fun of us

The Victorian décor is stunning and offers a traditional hub feel. On the other hand, beer costs just under £7, which is not a friendly price as it is in central London.

This place has the BEST PEOPLE IN LONDON! My husband and I ate lunch, great Fish and Chips with peas. I left my bag with my cash, ID, cards and didn't realize for 5 hours. We went back to see if it was found, and LO and Behold, it was there! So grateful for the honest staff and concerned bartender who located it and returned it to me..Thank you for keeping me in the holiday spirit!

Booked here before we made our trip. Very courteous on arrival, and we were seated quickly. Me and my wife had the steak and ale pie (Sunday roast was sold out), excellent quality ingredients and very tasty. The Salisbury has a real historic feel with great atmosphere. Highly recommended..

This pub was lovely. We booked this evening for a Sunday Roast, but they were all sold out, so we had the beef & ale pie & mash with gravy instead - it was absolutely delicious! Fresh & very tasty, a good portion of pie with lots of succulent, tender meat. The bartender was lovely, too, he was welcoming and friendly. The pub has many beautiful features, the mirrors, the etching and chandeliers create a lovely ambience. I would definitely recommend The Salisbury and will return to see The Whisky Room, if possible. Stumbled around this area after we ended our walking tour. So many pub to choose from and we thought why not try Salisbury. We seated ourselves, menus are on the table. Ordered at the till. Very much self served except they will bring you food. That’s it. We left before they even came and clear our dishes. 🤷🏻I am quite sure about tip option. In North American we tip after we finished. Either we satisfy with service or not. They asked for tip on the machine right after we order. Quite odd. Ordered 2 fish & chips came with small dipping sauce ( get a bigger one please it’s not jive with the size of fish) , burger and another dish . Potions are big. We were agreed foods just so so. Nothing stand out and wow us. Typical pub food. Drink on the other hand cold and refreshing.

A beautiful interior typical of many pubs in the area. It was quite busy at lunchtime. A mistake with our food order was handled well. Sandwiches were good.

I wrote the review on the nachos and the prosseco fizz issue. I stand by the nachos but have deleted the review because I think it unfair to raise the fizz issue in a public forum such as Trip Advisor. I should have complained at the time.

Authentic Victorian pub with all the fittings right in the middle of the theatre district. Can become very busy but I found staff, service and food to be good, especially given that it is in the centre of the tourist part of the city.

Very nice establishment with a good welcome. We were served by Richard who has a lot of humor. For my first fish and chips, I enjoyed myself, but above all, the products are fresh, and everything is homemade. Compared to the quality and quantity, it is well worth the price. We will come back, for sure.

The atmosphere is awesome. The style is awesome for a pub. The service was expected and okay. The food, a chicken bacon sandwich, a steak sandwich, were average at best. Dry meat which was disappointing, but might be normal here?

Highly recommended for eating and having a beer in the English pub style. The meatloaf with mashed potatoes is very delicious. Great service and attention.

Unfortunately service was super slow, the waiter never came to ask our order, so after getting tired we ordered directly with the barman, and then food took one hour to arrive and was average 🤦🏻‍♂️

My first experience with Fish & Chips and I must admit that it was good. Crispy fish on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside. The meat pie was also delicious. The dishes are generous so they can be shared without problems. Nice tavern atmosphere. Highly recommended...

Me and my boyfriend had our last dinner in London at Salisbury pub. We took two delicious plates, duck hash and steak & ale pie. We appreciated a lot the food and the service, thanks to Ritisha! She was very kind with us!

I’ve been in the pub quite a few times again recently. Richard always looks after us so well and whilst it's not our local, he makes us feel like it is. The service is always great especially for such a busy pub and the food is of a much more premium quality than others in the area. If you're in the Covent Garden then I would highly recommend popping in!

Was here a few days ago and they have a lovely atmosphere and a good selection of gins, the staff is great too! I was served by Harley and he was very sweet and very helpful, would definitely recommend this place.

Great place to have drinks and have a good time with friends.

You will expect to pay premium prices for drinks in any West End pub, but the standard of the Men's toilets at this pub were beyond disgusting and appalling. Overflowing full urinals locked cubicle and toilet paper covering the floor was disgusting and troubling to witness the staff should be sacked or the firm made to account for or justifycustomers experiencing such utter squalor.

We have eaten very well. Richard took care of us and he took great care of us. We will repeat.

A genuine old London pub. Handy for theathre land. Prices are good and a reasonable selection of traditional beers. Handy for China town. Also has some outside seating, time to watch the world go by.

Food and drinks overpriced. Mac and cheese was both cold and undercooked, burger was dry, fish was 99% batter (and burnt), and service mediocre (at a push).

We visited The Salisbury as a family as it advertises itself as ‘Family Friendly’ both of which it is neither. We had the worst experience we’ve ever had in a pub due to an extremely rude and unprofessional member of staff and I would suggest thinking twice about visiting this pub with children as it hardly sets a good example to the younger generation. Please provide us with an email address/phone number to enable us to set out in detail the incident and to lodge a complaint in the hope to protect future customers or alternatively we can contact Greene King Head Office direct.

Sat at anoutside table to enjoy a drink after a busy day. Lovely old pub and enjoyed chatting to the folk on the table next to us.

A perfect English Pub. We were originally going to go to a pub across the street but because the game was on we couldn’t get in to sit down either inside or out. So we walked across the street and gave this place a shot. Happy we did. The food was great and the beer was cold! The atmosphere was perfect. Everyone was having a great time with friends. The pub is decorated beautifully and has the eclectic British charm. Oh and my 18 year old son had his first “legal” drink at a bar so, that was a fun experience. 😜

Staff ignore waiting customers. Came here today for second time this weekend. Staff member ignored me and served customers who walked in pub after us. After notifying staff member I had been stood waiting drinks were placed on counter where staff member told me to walk round. Was told price of drinks (no please) and paid. Staff member made "your welcome" comment once I collected our drinks. Perhaps staff member could be reminded that manners are reciprocated.

First of all, the staff are lovely and helpful, great team, so friendly. Atmosphere is top notch, one of the best pubs in central London. However, The food menu is horrendous, “British pub” with an emphasis on oriental, Korean dishes, a lot of sea food etc. Any dish you order tastes fishy as I assume they use the same fryer for everything and quite frankly It needs to change. Tourists come in for old school British pub food, and they’re offered something almost akin to a sushi bar Also the Sunday roast is the worse I’ve ever had… giant piece of cabbage to accommodate the lack of roast veg. Disgusting, not to mention over priced.

Popped in on a Friday night with a few friends heading into SoHo, was really worth the stop. Had a great time, the staff were lovely. Especially Richard and Billy, couldn’t have been more helpful!

This was my favorite pub in London, stopped here twice. It's part of the Greene King chain. It's beautifully decorated, has a great vibe and the most friendly staff of anywhere we drank. They were fully decked out for Pride, which made it that much better. Close-ish to Big Ben area. First beer of the day for our guy on Father's Day-perfect.

Great place in Convent Garden to try fish & chips. The cost of the dish is similar to other restaurants in the area (£17.95 a portion), but the quality and quantity exceed expectations. The Pub is well decorated, with space outside and inside. There is no table service, you order at the bar, pay and a comiz brings the dishes. I would return and recommend it to my friends who visit the area.

We were remarkably surprised by the brasserie dishes of this establishment, the atmosphere was superb, one star less however for the service and the friendliness of one of the bartenders luckily his colleague was more friendly well done to the team of the kitchen which served us generously. Qualitative dishes and super reasonable prices, an establishment to recommend for the atmosphere of a real English pub.

We went in for a drink but was ignored by a member of staff for ages. Wouldn't bother going back

Booked online for dinner, we arrive at a crowded place with very loud music. At the beginning we are told that there is only room at the bar, I explain that I have booked for 4 for dinner and they accompany me to a table for 2... having noticed the mistake the waiter tells me to wait while he prepares another table. After 5 minutes I discover that the table was ready without having notified us. We sit down, choose from the menu and go to the counter to order (they don't take orders at the table) and after queuing they tell us that the kitchen is closed... we leave empty-handed. Our table neighbors tell us that when they ordered a large part of the menu was missing. I can't speak to the quality of the food, but certainly for the service received I don't recommend it

Nice pub in the heart of Theatreland. Good range of beers (Pale Ales/IPA's etc). It's prices are reasonable when you consider that you are in the heart of London's West End. The staff behind the bar were very efficient and friendly as we were a fairly large party, with big rounds. Special thanks to the young lady who looked after us from behind the bar. Sorry didn't catch your name, but you are tall with shortish bobbed hair. Thanks to all at The Salisbury for a good day had by all our party.

Giant "review us!" sign in front of me haha so here you go - 35 minutes later, chips haven't showed up. It's a sticky and poorly run tourist trap, go next.
