Best pies in London! I had the rabbit. He had the steak and ale. Wonderful.

This pub took me by surprise, as we were only looking for a quick stop off for a pint. The staff were excellent, even though the place was busy, the beer was great, the food really good, and it's a beautiful place to sit. Top marks.

Great pub for a drink ideally situated for shopping and visiting St Pauls cathedral

Good after-work pints kinda place with great, friendly staff. The crowd spills out onto the street to enjoy the sunshine so you'll be given a plastic container for your drink. All great except for the fact that cars are still allowed up this narrow street. Toilets were clean.

Wow!!! amazing atmosphere on a saturday night . nice and cosy with a great team of bartenders who really know there stuff. one thing i would really focus on is the quality of the cask ales. i can tell they really look after the quality of there lines. nicholsons pale ale is now my go too. coyl

Went here on my break from subway. Have to say the food was amazing I had a veggie burger with salad. Was made to perfection nice change to have British cuisine for once . The soft drink selection was good too as I don’t drink. I had a lucky saint for the first time. Thanks to netta definitely a good old school English bartender

Was on a walk along the historical streets of London and luckily ran into this place, staff were kind and funny!!! The pub dates back hundreds of years so I liked the thought of drinking in a place of history. More importantly the selection of gins were perfect, every flavour of gin you could imagine and they had flavoured tonics. Probably the best pub I’ve been too for a while . Lastly it’s important to note they have the best prices in the area , will definitely be retuning when I’m back in London in December. See you soon !!!! Coyl

The pie is to die for and I will come back for more! I tried the Beef rib, shin and pulled brisket pie and it was melt-in-the-mouth good. And the beer was very refreshing. A bit on the higher side of price though, but maybe because it’s in London.

Happened upon this place during a stopover for business. Quintessential English pub. Great atmosphere, good food. Superb fish and Chips. What more do you need? The service was top notch upstairs, Shalina delivered great personable service despite being the only server on at the time. Would definitely go back!

Unbelievable pub!!! The bartenders are fast and bubbly. When you think traditional pub you get the watling. Netta and Lee were fantastic even with his bad ankle!!! Hope you get well soon!

Excellent classic pub a quite realistic experience, full of office workers drinking on the street.

We stopped here for a beer. In terms of price-value ratio, it was not higher than the city average. We stopped outside to feel the local atmosphere, because many people were standing outside, but there were still many places inside. There is a perfect view of St. Paul's Cathedral from the small narrow street next to the pub.

We came in for drinks and a snack while doing a historical walk through London. Great pub in a lovely road.

Beautiful pub located in the heart of London. The bar staff are friendly, and make every effort to serve you quickly and effectively. We always come back here as we’re welcomed with open arms. Couldn’t recommend it more! Especially Scott and Otto!! They both go above and beyond.

Absolutely loved this wee gem of a dinning place (upstairs dinning room). Great food, drink, reasonable prices and most importantly very pleasant and attentive staff (I am just sorry I didn't catch the name of our waitress who was so great). Highly recommend!

Bow back lanes London pub with narrow lane drinking. A corner house pub with squared windows. Good, open, square bar with a large, well decorated bar. A superb wooden beam lattice work ceiling with clean and tidy finishes. Beautiful feature pendant lights and some retained vintage decorative wood beam calligraphy. A good selection of beer. Good tunes, a little loud drive up the talking volume of a selection of mixed groups of work colleagues. Great perimeter seating with stools & some power points. A single discreet high screen with news. Nicholson's are pub experts & you will enjoy this traditional Bow lanes boozer.

Lovely looking pub with nice selection of drinks in a great location. Staff have zero idea on to deliver friendly hospitality. When I walked in, the lady behind the bar just stopped and stared at me; no “how can I help you” or “what I can I get you”, literally silence. Very odd. This happened for the next three rounds.

£8.50 for a sandwich and a pint at lunch..... for London this is unheard off and it actually tastes amazing. This is a great London boozer, wooden floorboards, great drink selection. Perfect for lunch!

We had the fish and chips, and beef rib/ brisket pie and sticky toffee pudding, the food was amazing, but the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream was hellllllllaaaaaa (very) good. The staff were polite and accommodating for our 2 kids.

Lovely little place by St Paul's cathedral and One New Change. Very busy around lunch time during the week as you can imagine and is quite small inside. Is a popular spot with many of the Londoners. Only went there for drinks so cannot comment on the food

Ye Olde Watling is a fantastic little pub located on the cobblestone lanes of the city - with an unparalleled view of St Paul's. A true storybook type of pub. The best place to drink here is right outside. And just admire the view.

Reviewed this pub a bit too hastily initially quite harshly. I've come back to edit now as I accept that their lack of any draught ale at all wasn't planned and, in fact, shows how popular the place is. I'll definitely be returning in the near future to try again as the pub is a London landmark.

Specialises in pies. So harty food. Don't go if you are on a diet. We had a reserved large table and very attentive staff. So good for large groups

Lovely builidng, a super classic London Pub, welcomg and 'normal' and with this lovely historic upstairs function room. We came as the London Gallery Quire for choir dinner with plenty of singing which the pub were very happy for us to do. We had a super evening and were well looked after, and enjoyed our meal and the whole occasion. Everyone says we should do it again next year and we may well do that.

I booked a table here for dinner with 7 other people. Half of the drinks we ordered, and several of the main dishes we ordered, were not available. One of the dinners was seemingly forgotten about completely, and it wasn’t until we asked about it that the staff brought it out, 20 minutes after the other dishes. A side dish was also forgotten, and was eventually served (after we chased) after all the other food had been already finished. A couple of my party ordered the pies with the extra broccoli (costing an additional £4 each), expecting this would be a decent portion or a side dish of veg. We were shocked when the pies were delivered with 3 small, sad pieces of undercooked broccoli on each plate. It’s outrageous that we were charged almost £10 and received less than 1 head of broccoli between us. Utter scam. Otherwise it’s a pretty pub with good beer and nice festive decoration.

Even though its always packed, the staff are always accommodating, helpful and kind. They accommodated my disability, and sat us at another table so we could have a little more room. The wine was smashing, and the food was extremely tasty. As always, Jackie and her staff looked after us.

City pub, go in the rain on a wet Thursday in winter and there will still be 50 people stood outside drinks pints. Heroes drink here.

Extremely busy and loud when I visited here. The pub appeared to be understaffed. Nice pub, but a bit touristy and food orders take 40 minutes to arrive
