OK pub but they added a 10% service charge for drinks ordered and paid for at the bar, without informing me. That is not the done thing in London and the service was quite slow anyway. Congrats on the £5.30. I work nearby and won't be returning to this pub.

I have visited ye old watling and the service was very good. Staff members are very respectful and helpful especially Augustine he is very kind and sweet person that made us feel comfortable.

Had an awesome time at Ye Olde Watling! The burger and Thai chicken wings were so good super tasty and cooked just right. The place has a nice vibe, and the service was great. Big shoutout to Shalina, she was really friendly and made sure we were all good. Definitely recommend this spot!

A sublime old pub in the purest English tradition, a stone's throw from the magnificent Saint Paul's Cathedral. Impeccable service, very friendly staff (the restaurant is located upstairs), and the best fish and chips I have ever eaten, all accompanied by an excellent Guinness, of course. An address to know and keep carefully. It’s simple, we loved it 🤩 We are already thinking about coming back to London, and we will definitely come back to Ye Olde Watling 👍🏻

Came here for lunch. Not too busy. Tried the bangers and mash. Very hearty portion of food. Had to scan a QR code to order then go up to the bar to confirm order.

Great pub. We had a drink at the bar and then headed upstairs for food. The pies are fantastic. Highly recommend!

What a gem of a find. It was packed downstairs at lunchtime (drinkers) but upstairs was a lovely smaller bar & resteraunt perfect for dining with teens. The food was amazing quality & good sized portions. The lady serving was polite and engaging with us all. I would be very happy to recommend Ye Olde Watling

This place charges service on rounds of drinks bought at the bar without telling customers. I only realised when I checked the receipt. Variously claimed it was a till error, company policy for drinks orders over £30, and company policy for drinks orders over £40. What a joke. They must rake it in given pints are well north of £7 there.

Fast service on a busy Saturday. 80 people group, yet all drinks were served in less than 5 minutes by 3 servers!

I took my friends here based on the good reviews. Unfortunately we did not have the experience I was expecting. This may be pedantic, but the menu says that all pies are served with mash unless otherwise stated. I eagerly ordered the veggie pie based on this. I love mash. My friend ordered the rabbit pie and the waitress laughed at him, she said rabbits were cute why would you eat them. The food came out and to my surprise I did not have any mash on my plate, just two carrots, some slithers of broccoli and a luke warm pie. Where was the mash that I was so looking forward to? I asked the waitress. I said it doesn’t clearly state that the veggie pie comes with no mash. She agreed and went to the chef. She came back and told me the chef said mash was not included. I just want some mash. The waitress walked away and muttered “what do you want me to do about it”. I felt jaded. I just wanted some mash. Then I felt ashamed, is it pathetic to be this affected by a lack of mash? My head hung low as exited the building that night.

Fantastic old English pub, stooped in history. I took a group of 20 in for a meal and a few drinks, and we couldn't fought it. All the staff were really efficient and so friendly, the food was exceptional especially the steak and pale ale pie. Well worth a visit and definitely worthy of the 5 stars given.

Really happy with the choice to eat here. Food was great and hit the spot. If I could give six stars for service I would. The lady upstairs was lovely!!

We shared some good beers 🍻 after a long day wandering around London. We can't judge less liquid dishes 😜 We had a great time.

A Nicholson’s pub that serves up a decent range of lagers, ales and other beers. It tends to be very busy and you might be forced outside - not a bad thing if the weather is warm 😃

Lovely builidng, a super classic London Pub, welcomg and 'normal' and with this lovely historic upstairs function room. We came as the London Gallery Quire for choir dinner with plenty of singing which the pub were very happy for us to do. We had a super evening and were well looked after, and enjoyed our meal and the whole occasion. Everyone says we should do it again next year and we may well do that.

Decent welcome, lovely pint of HPA! Food okay, pie very slightly overcooked sadly and really miffed by service charge added without asking, bearing in mind you order yourself and a plate is brought to the table!!

Good after-work pints kinda place with great, friendly staff. The crowd spills out onto the street to enjoy the sunshine so you'll be given a plastic container for your drink. All great except for the fact that cars are still allowed up this narrow street. Toilets were clean.
