Very nice pub, really nice service and great atmosphere

As an American who travels to London multiple times a year (not bragging, setting the scene), I have had a LOT of fish and chips. Mainly because I'm hunting for something that actually lives up to the hype. Well, look no further. Whether you are new to London or not, these are NOT your British uncle's traditionally bland F&C's. These are the ones you have been looking for. They will change your life. They will not disappoint. I couldn't tell you what the rest of the menu is like, but honestly, who cares. You are here for the Fish and Chips. You can thank me later.

Typical pub with delicious food, cheerful service, rustic atmosphere. Just the right way to end a day in London. Only the music was a little too loud for conversation.

The food is SO GOOD!! Loved the pies and the draft beers.

Went in for lunch. Blade of beef pie was great, lots of flavour the other two poes were bland. Salmon was ok but needed less oil.

Stumbled upon this place walking home from a tour on our trip to London. It was our favorite meal of our entire honeymoon!! We got the witch’s brew to drink, sausages, chicken tenders and chicken pot pie. Maybe it’s because we’re American but man I’ll remember the pot pie forever :)

Nice little pub with very good food and drinks. Service was great even though the pub was very full in the evening. If you go in the evening, you should definitely reserve a table.

I made a last minute reservation (well, for an hour later) on a Friday evening. We were at our hotel 5 minutes away and had no dinner plans, so I found this place and made a reservation. We walked over and into the pub. There was nobody at the door, which seemed to be the norm at other places. We sat down for a few minutes and assumed that nobody was going to come over to us, so I went up to the bar and said I had dinner reservations. That seemed to be unexpected and the young lady went to who I would assume is the bar manager and inquired about it. We definitely were not expected. I ended up ordering at the bar for us and we went upstairs (much less noisy) and found a table. From this point on, everything was great. I had the Hunters Chicken (chicken, BBQ sauce, bacon, and cheese) with fries. My partner had chicken strips and fries. The food came up quick and since we already paid, we ate and got out of there. It was a good stop, somewhat disorganized, but it all worked out fine. The food was good and it was a lively place for sure.

Nice enough pub. Good selection of well kept ales. But I have been in there a number of times in the evening and I find they play the music far too loud, making it difficult to have a conversation with your friends. .maybe I am getting old.

We came to get some supper. Maybe this is how it always is or maybe it was just the day we were there but it was extremely loud in there. It felt like everyone was trying to talk louder than the person next to them. We ended up sitting upstairs so it was a bit quieter. The place was nice and the food was good.

Four of us had lunch here on a weekday. Service and atmosphere all fine. Food was incredibly disappointing. There a lots of good reviews on here, so we perhaps got them on an off day; I hope the owner will sit down to review the bangers and mash, which appeared to have motor oil as gravy, and the floppiest veg I've ever come across.

Visited for a drink only on a Tuesday evening so can't comment on food. Music was pretty dreadful and pointlessly loud (Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick etc really doesn't need to be rammed into my ears). My mate had to send his pint of ale back as it was off and undrinkable and my pint was slightly on the turn too. Wouldn't return

Previously I had the very special fish and chips and loved it. I will be coming back for that again. Today i tried a chicken burger, but i couldn't work out how you are supposed to eat it, It's so tall you can't possibly get it into you mouth. I ended up taking it apart and eating with knife and fork. The taste wasn't anything special, disappointing, messy and difficult to eat and cost £17.

Since this was Sunday dinner, you order at bar and delivered to table. Highly recommend the meat pies and pulled ales, need to come back for fish and chips. Demiglace on both pies was spot on. Vanilla custard just needed a little more bean and it would be perfect. Likewise, don't expect an American apple pie, this is more like quince but didn't have any nutmeg or cinnamon. Several television sfor sports but music mainly played in the restaurant and can be quite loud.

It happens in life that you find yourself in London for your 50th birthday and come across a pub after several hours spent visiting the city. After being at the White Swan I am still certain of an excellent welcome, delicious food and exclusive beer... Thanks guys! An indelible memory! Giampy (Italy)

I walked there from TATE BRITAN. First UK PUB First time trying FISH & CHIPS. It is a style where you order food and drinks at the counter each time. The food is also delicious. The store staff are also friendly and great And the BGM music is also great! ! ! My ideal London was here. I want to go again!

As an American tourist staying in the Pimlico area of London, I wanted a neighborhood pub experience. Most of all, I wanted great fish and chips! I got Both. I had read reviews praising the fish and chips and they were spot on!

Chicken in the hunter chicken was dry, and chicken tikka masala was a disaster: almonds on top to hide the fact it wasn’t good, the sauce was more of a paste than a sauce and flavourless. Also as a picky eater, the mango chutney was touching half the dish, completely putting me off

Good pub, would give it 4 or 5, but they choose to play random football on full blast and say they can't turn it down as 2 people have booked a table to watch it apparently. What a load of cobblers. Bad customer service. Thanks for the headache.

Went here after work for a few pints to watch the euros and it is always a great pub, not sure who the young lady that served us was called on the bar but she was great!

Good food and an excellent range of beers. We ate upstairs and had excellent service to the table via an app. Football (Euro 24) was on downstairs which made it a bit noisy.

First time in London and the first time eating fish and chips in London. The fish was good and loved the crunchy fries. It's a pub so the music is loud. They have an upstairs that's not as noisy, but music is loud. The service was good. I had to go down to the bar to place an order, but they delivered it upstairs for you.

Booked Sunday lunch for two. Place was empty, maybe 6-10 other customers so no reason for such a poor experience. Ordered bread and whitebait, roast chicken and a veggie main. ALL the dishes arrived at the table together! I commented that we had not expected to have everything at once (server was same person who took the order and clearly knew it was a meal for two) he replied "I understand, I can take the mains back and keep them warm if you like". Who would be happy having paid for food, knowing it's just being kept warm while you eat starters? I never return food once it's at the table (trust issues!) so declined this. It turned out that 'warm' was optimistic, while the whitebait was delicious and hot all the food on the Roast chicken plate was tepid at best, I ate maybe half the chicken as I was hungry, I'd rate the food quality as poor throughout this plate. The veggie main was also tepid although tasty. The same server returned to ask 'how the food was' and I very politely said the roast was average at best and the food was barely warm, we complimented the whitebait and the flavour of the veggie dish. He apologised and left. Later, while clearing the table, he again apologised and said he had updated the Manager. This is where I feel most aggrieved.. we stayed another 15 mins or so finishing our drinks and, although the pub remained almost empty, the Manager failed to come over and address these issues. We left, won't be back...

Dropped in for lunch after visiting the Tate and found a very good pub indeed. Decent sized sandwiches, a lovely crisp freshly made side salad that easily covered my five a day. I ordered a side salad for my friend but when she said she'd prefer fries manager changed it without fuss. Good McMullen bitter, too. Spacious and clean, screen playing tennis but was muted so didn't intrude on conversation. I'm back at the Tate in July so I know where lunch will be to try some of the other offerings on the menu.

This is a good pub and the beer is decent, a good place to come to with some friends for a drink. The staff are friendly and attentive. Their food is the weak spot, I had the pie taster, which was ropey with dried out mash potato and pie pastry that was equally dry. Overall a good boozer with average pub grub.

Food was amazing, mum had ham egg and chips which she loved, I had the fish and chips I can honestly say it was the best I've had in long time. Servers were lovely also.

As an American, I HAD to try the fish and chips and I was ABSOLUTELY IMPRESSED! I don't generally enjoy fried fish, so I was already a bit skeptical of the dish, but White Swan made me understand what all the fuss is about! Great food, amazing service, lively atmosphere and friendly patrons make this a must visit!

Came in with a group of friends just to stop by for a drink and ended up having the best time! The band was incredible, the cocktails were super yummy, and the food was the best (I recommend the nachos). Livia makes the best espresso martinis and the bar staff were very friendly. 10/10 would come back again :)

I had a fantastic experience at The White Swan in Pimlico. The atmosphere was lively and cozy, ideal for a relaxing evening. The burger and fries I ordered were delicious—juicy and perfectly cooked. The pints we had were refreshing and complemented the meal well. Our server, Olivia was also very nice and provided excellent service throughout our visit, making us feel welcomed and ensuring we had everything we needed. If you're looking for a great pub in Pimlico, The White Swan is definitely worth a visit!

Firstly, Website lists a kid menu, so assumed it was kid friendly, it is not. When we popped in was told they don’t have a kids menu at all, nothing really suitable for kids at all except fries on the menu. I tried to order via the app that you need to download to order from the table, but the app doesn’t list everything that they sell. Juices not all listed, cordials missing, certain draught missing, etc. Food came quickly, once we had managed to place an order at the bar, but my wife’s CBLT sandwich (aka Club any other part of the world) was tough as shoe leather (think the cook used a steak weight to cook quickly). She ended up just pulling it out and eating the rest. Went to order a desert, no kids ice cream even through the menu online and app both said they sold it, and the toffee cheesecake was in fact passion fruit. In short, could be a nice pub but seems poorly run. There seems to be mismanagement at this bar as the menu, app and website are not aligned, which makes for a frustrating experience and the confusion around the kids menu is just not acceptable.

Fun place, great service, and vety tasty food! We joined in for their Monday trivia night. When they found out we were visiting from Canada they added a few Canadian trivia questions.

A very bright pub with a good atmosphere (at least at lunchtime), good food, better beer and fast, friendly waiters. Hot water in the bathroom (common in Great Britain but very rare in Spain) and with very curious old signage

I went to this pub yesterday having checked out their menus online specifically the children's menu as I was taking my two children and wanted to check they had suitable food. When I got there I saw there was no children's menu so asked at the bar only to the told that there wasn't one. When I told them they had a children's menu on their website the server just repeated that they didn't have one and suggested I order off the main menu. I did but it was more than twice the price and being an adult size my children couldn't finish the food. Utterly rubbish....

My very first English pub! Went here for Sunday roast right after arriving in London, and enjoyed a delicious steak and ale pie (also my first) and at least a couple beers. Great pub atmosphere and excellent service!

What a bad experience we just had. We arrived in to a nice looking pub, we sat down and waited. Nobody noticed us for a long time so we downloaded an app to order good, but it didnt work. After +- 45 mins of waiting a lady came and told us they just stopped taking orders for food. So far our experience with the service in restaurants in London are pretty bad, you should learn in Spain or Greece, how to do it properly!

Very nice pub near the Tate Britain gallery. Of course, good beer selection and reasonable, rather low prices. Good chicken sandwich with fries that can also be shared, good portion. Friendly staff, fast service. The only criticism: There is no lunch offer such as "burger + 1 pint for xx pounds", which was quite common elsewhere. Recommendation.

The server was very helpful and polite. Food was correct as ordered; and in a timely manner. Most importantly the food tasted amazing and the drink selections were great. I strongly recommend this establishment if you're in the area.

🚇 Pimlico 🍺 £5.55 Estrella ❤️ A modern contemporary pub set inside a beautiful Victorian exterior. . Prior to visiting Pimlico I researched a few pubs to see which ones I would visit. One of the pubs I didn’t research was the @whiteswanpimlicolondon but I’m so glad I came here. This pub has a beautiful exterior with marble columns, gold detailing and victorian lamps. Inside the decor is modern and contemporary with exposed brickwork, large chandeliers and a wonderful wrought iron spiral staircase. At the time of visiting it was table service only, we were taken to a table by a really friendly member of staff and he came back shortly after to take our order. My Son and I ordered a couple of Estrella’s and some tapas as we were a few pubs in to our crawl and felt famished. The food was really tasty and the portions were a good size, the beer was also good and not overly priced. The service was excellent, the young lad who served us was polite, efficient and informed us of how long our food would be. The atmosphere here is upbeat and buzzy but the pub is big enough that you still have your own space to socialise in. . I haven’t been to a @mcmullens1827 pub in some time and these guys have a great pub in The White Swan. . 📊 Information correct on visiting 21/05/21

Excellent Sunday roast. Nice atmosphere with very ‘London’ vibe decor. The fried cauliflower was also delicious. The only disappointing thing was the side salad - a little wilted and not fresh - and the chicken added to the main was dry and tasteless.

Came for a Sunday roast with a friend. We both ordered the chicken roast dinner, and I say, I have not had such dismal meal like this is a very long time. I could even say it was the worst roast I’ve ever had, and to think it cost £20! I have given two stars here purely for the politeness and good service from the staff. To describe the roast, firstly 95% of the meal were frozen ingredients. Both my Yorkshire puddings were so well cooked, they had turned into crisps that cracked and crumbled. Next the chicken, I’m not sure how it’s even possible to have a fully cooked piece of chicken with yet no colour whatsoever, dowsed in bisto gravy and powdery stuffing ball. It all felt like a bad school dinner that I paid £20 for… if I were you I’d stick to a packed of crisps

Cold drinks and Meat pies? Say no more! First official meal in London and was welcomed with great hospitality. The drink menu is very extensive but the food here is where this place shines. My meat pie was amazing and the gravy was the highlight. I would swim in that gravy if I could. Definitely recommend!

Unbelievably high prices, even for London.

The food was very poor. On a trip to Tate Britain we went to the White Swan for lunch, to refuel for the second half of our Tate visit. We ate half of our lunch because we were very hungry and limited for time. We had not asked for a refund or to change the food, but when asked by the waiting staff how the food was, we said it wasn't good and was over cooked. The burger was cooked until it was hard with no flavour, and the bun was toasted hard and crumbling. The hunters chicken was also hard and the coleslaw was discoloured. The waiting staff was very apologetic and said this would be mentioned to the chef. The chef's response was that, if we didn't like it then we should have returned it. So our suggestion to any future visitors is, if you don't like it then send it back without hesitation!! Nice pub for a drink though.

They went the extra mile in squeezing us in that what is their busiest time of year being Christmas time. We were a little concerned about having the small children near to the door to the street and located for this fully. The meals were served altogether, all hot and much as you might hope for it to be. The beer was complementary being real ale especially for the area very reasonably priced. It's worth if asking at the bar, which one/s might be best?
