The best restaurants serving British food in London

This is a unique experience that happens to be available at a really convenient train time, and the food on board is excellent, as is the premier service. It is an experience I’d highly recommend.

What a lovely place for breakfast! The staff were really friendly and the coffee and bacon sandwich was yummy. There's quite a lot of choice in Orpington for breakfast, but I will definitely be going back to The Bakehouse. Great atmosphere and really clean. The coffee was served hot and was very tasty. The prices are really good too!

It's a lovely family owned place freshly cooking classics breakfasts, coffee and dinner. Potatoes for chips are chopped in your sight. I preferred cod and chips for breakfast and prawns and chips other day. They also come with peas and a drink. It's much better then some fastfood options at practically same price. I would recommend this place if you are on lower March

Teníamos reserva para el té de la tarde, semanas antes, confirmado dos veces antes del día de llegada. Llegamos 10 minutos antes de nuestra hora. Me gustaría mencionar que elegimos el lugar en base a recomendaciones de que tiene un servicio “impecable”. Bueno, déjame decirte. En la entrada la persona que estaba en la recepción, responsable de saludar y dar la bienvenida a los invitados, finge que no se fija en nosotros en absoluto. Él nos ve y rápidamente se aleja, fingiendo que está ocupado. Pensé, ok, alguien más va a ayudarnos. Me sentí incómodo porque sabía que no debía estar en la fila para llevar, pero como nadie se acercó a nosotros, elijo quedarme del lado de la comida para llevar, con un aspecto muy confuso, seguro. La persona en el mostrador de bienvenida decide saludar en este punto y nos pregunta si queremos llevar. Dije que no, tenemos reserva para el té de la tarde. En este punto pude ver que se recogió un poco y comenzó a actuar como si le importara de repente. Bueno... nos mostró el mostrador de bienvenida del té de la tarde, me pidió mi nombre... totalmente innecesario en este momento. Bien, bien. Trato incómodo, muy superficial, se sentía incómodo. En nuestra mesa la camarera era dulce, pero luego otros 2 camareros comenzaron a servirnos, contándonos diferentes historias sobre lo que se va a servir, limpiadores de paladar, etc. que simplemente NO LLEGARON a nuestra mesa, añadiéndose de nuevo a la confusión y la torpeza. La persona que nos sirvió los dulces literalmente nos dijo que después de que terminamos con los platos salados, el limpiador de paladar sigue. Nada de eso, estábamos esperando torpemente entre platos salados y dulces. A continuación, 2 personas llegaron a la mesa junto a nosotros como invitados... la misma persona que se negó a fijarse en nosotros, hace una gran escena de bienvenida con estos invitados, tan fuerte que todo el salón podía escucharlo. Ok. A partir de entonces, estos invitados estuvieron hablando tan fuerte, que tuvimos la sensación de que estamos sentados en la misma mesa. Nos fuimos rápido, muy decepcionados. Esperábamos una experiencia clásica con clase. Lo que obtuvimos fue un servicio barato y ordinario que nos dejó amargados para ser honestos. Viajamos por todo el mundo, fuimos a los mejores restaurantes pero aquí perdimos el tiempo, el dinero y los nervios. Eleve sus estándares.

Great pints - especially the free one! Nice ambiance - real pub feel. Soccer was on. I mean football. Bartenders were friendly!

If I could give the Cheneston's team 10 stars I would. Somehow 5 stars feels like a disservice. The food was absolutely delicious, I had ordered the steak (medium rare) and my partner the mushroom risotto which were cooked to perfection. Our mains were accompanied by three sides including Jersey Royal potatoes, Creamed Spinach and Ceaser Salad, all of which were again amazing. The service we received was exceptional, the restaurant manager and team were so attentive to the table and ensured we had everything we needed throughout the evening. I cannot recommend the restaurant and hotel highly enough. The best restaurant dining experience we have ever had.

Such a friendly and welcoming place. Had delicious oat coffee and vegan muffin. Great they offer vegan and gluten free options!

Excellent British breakfast. It's an interesting option for having a breakfast around their neighborhood. The people there are very friendly and the place is very comfortable as well.

El servicio lento, la comida pasable, la camarera estaba sombreada con mi tarjeta y al comprobar mi estado de cuenta me ha cobrado de más. Cuidado. No dejes que no te muestren el total en la máquina de tarjetas.

We love this pub, which is our local. We just want to put in a word for the staff, particularly Layton who is an exceptional. Bar person if that is the right terminology. He is cheerful, helpful and always has a smile on his face. We love coming here and he makes it special experience.

We were looking for this place missing it three times with GPS and were not able to find it. After 25min of search one guy told us that this place “is gone”...

Fabulous experience, beautiful surroundings and very attentive staff, peaceful atmosphere with the smell of fresh flowers filling the air. The tea menu was amazing and so was the assortment of sandwiches and cakes, just the right amount, and the waiter’s service and timing was perfect. Afternoon Tea at The Promenade is an unforgettable experience.
