The best restaurants serving British food in London

I asked if the burgers were homemade reassured they were. The burgers were certainly not home made, very synthetic hard, tasteless, the bacon was hardly cooked. I will not be visiting the Five Bells again, which is a shame as the current owners have made such a wonderful transformation.

The pub was closed for refurbishment when we came there. They will open in August maybe. Remove it from booking.

Passed Charlotte's tonight but all closed up. Sign on the door says they are closed due to lack of gas but all the spirits have been cleared from the bar. Looks permanently closed.

Favorite place for lunch! Great food—deliciously prepared— and beverages.

We were a party of 19 celebrating a birthday. The food was delicious and the service warm and attentive. The atmosphere made the meal really special. Highly recommend for any occasion.

The new menu food is great!! Loved the tempura kimchi and the smoked trout salad. Great food presentation and flavors overall. Service was great and we’re loving the live music! My favourite place in London!! Definitely recommend

What a lovely pub! Stopped in here after walking from along the canal from Camden. Open roast mederteranean veg sanger on sourdough with a pint of cider. Beautiful.

It was an extra ordinary experience for me and my friends, it’s an underground wine bar close to London Charing Cross station which is very convenient for us.

We really loved this gem of a restaurant! Lovely atmosphere and great food. Our waiter Mario was fantastic and gave us excellent service. Sophia was very kind and helpful in suggesting a few cocktails options. We will be back!

I love the Ivy and have been to many of them across the country, I was disappointed with our meal at London City Garden though. We were offered water, which we expected to be a fair cost, but £11 for 2 glasses, felt totally unnecessary. Especially as the water retails at £1.50 a bottle. My starter and main meal (chicken Milanese) was very bland - I gave up half way through. My husband ordered a steak and a side of creamed greens which tasted off and he left them. The service was lovely, as was atmosphere. They were also good at receiving feedback and offered a refund on the items we didn’t like; but I have to say I won’t return in a while as the water price just felt like needless profiteering.

If you're looking for affordable fish & chips, this is the place to go. The fish is tender and the portions are generous.
