Favourite lamb roast in London. Love coming here on a Sunday to enjoy a roast. They clearly use high quality ingredients - both the lamb and the gravy were absolutely delicious. Staff are lovely, also love the fact that they do NHS discount! Will continue to stop by whenever I’m in the area.

The Horseshoe is an excellent pub. I've been coming here fairly regularly for around 15 years and I always like it. There is a large garden at the back, which is covered in winter, as well as extensive seating outside the front on what used to be part of the road. Since the centre of gravity in London Bridge station moved further east, it's only two minutes' walk from the main southern exit.

Not great. A friend and I were asked to leave as the outdoor seating "was for customers only". I can only assume that because I am pregnant and we both had children in prams, they assumed we weren't customers, when our husbands were in fact at the bar ordering drinks for us all. We were then told to ensure that any snacks we had stayed in their bags, which is fine but the way the whole thing was handled by the staff member was off.

Just visited for drinks so didn't try the food. Interesting pub behind London Bridge station with a wide selection of beers and lagers. Wine selection okay but not extensive. The key regions and styles are offered. However we only stayed for one drink because the service became difficult with huge queues for drinks. The pub takes reservations and this Friday I'd say that over 80% of the tables were reserved including the whole upstairs area. There seemed to be an influx of people around 5:30 taking up their reservations and it made it difficult to find seating. Nice pub though. Avoid the busiest times and it would be very pleasant.

🚇 London Bridge 🍺 £7.10 Cruzcampo The Horseshoe Inn is tucked away in a quiet backstreet next to Vinegar Yard Flea Market at the western end of Bermondsey, Southeast London. The nearest Tube is London Bridge. This pub started life as The Horseshoe & Wheatsheaf built in 1794. The pub was rebuilt in 1897 and its name was abbreviated to The Horseshoe Inn. The Horseshoe Inn featured as the exterior of "The Railway Arms", the euphemism for Heaven in the BBC television series, "Ashes to Ashes". This is a deceptively large pub with a large main bar area, side-room, small upstairs function room, first floor sun terrace and a large beer garden. The servery is centrally located in the main bar area and has a dartboard situated to the right. The decor is traditional and characterful with some nice features like the period fireplace and glazed partitions. The beer line up consists of familiar favourites and included three cask ales, two of which were from Brakspear who own the pub. I decided on a Cruzcampo, my pint was great, price point was expensive. The food menu is British pub classics, Pizzas and Burgers, Fish & Chips costs £17, Roasts are available on a Sunday. I arrived just after 3pm on an overcast Saturday afternoon in February. The pub was busy with a relaxed atmosphere with a mix of punters of all ages. Most areas of the pub were dimly lit which created a cosy traditional pub environment. The service was good, the chap who served me was welcoming and courteous. As part of visiting this pub, I would recommend a wander around the surrounding streets where you’ll find the remnants of this area’s once industrious past. With the exception of my pint cost, I very much enjoyed my visit here. My stay at The Horseshoe Inn was a lovely traditional pub experience, I would definitely recommended a visit. 📅 1st February 2025 More London Pub info @londonpubmap

Good selection of beers-the existence of Erdinger on tap is appreciated-prices are okay (£7 for a pint) and downstairs is a nice place to have a drink. Upstairs it's more like being in someone's living room and if you have a loud group next to your table, good luck trying to have a conversation. The tables upstairs also need some care; we had a reservation so the table was empty but it was rather sticky on some spots so it hadn't been cleaned properly.

Had lunch at Horseshoe. The meal seemed like it might have been well-cooked initially but had likely spent too long in a heater. Parsnip: Well cooked, but bordering on overdone. Carrots: Overcooked. Potatoes: Likely crispy at one point, now soggy. Cabbage: Met expectations, though poorly drained, contributing to watery gravy. Yorkshire pudding: Doughy in the middle. Beef: Once well-cooked but now soggy and unappealing. Gravy: Watery and overly salty. With few diners present, it’s surprising that a fresh Yorkshire pudding wasn’t prepared. Overall, the meal lacked freshness and balance—a disappointing experience.

The bartender who was not fluent in English didn’t take our order correctly and the five of us ended up eating at different times as we had to return a couple of times to correct the situation. We complained to the manager and her response was “you get what you pay for”. There was no apology, no offer to make things right. Since moving to Borough, we’ve frequented the Horseshoe every week for drinks and food — that stops now. Such a shame that Horseshoe’s crew cannot see the lifetime value of a customer and fix things when they mess them up.

I went here in 2020 during lockdown. My friend was headbutted after someone had sat on the table we had reserved for his birthday, and didn't want to move. My friend calmly explained about the reservation and was promptly knocked to the floor. The staff and bouncer did nothing to help or intervene, because they seemed scared of the customer, despite it being witnessed on CCTV. I emailed the owner, who to be fair said he was 'appalled' and 'was looking into the facts of what happened' but after this went silent. It would be safer to go somewhere else. Edit - just posting initial response verbatim in case it gives some context to review viewers. To say I am appalled by what I have heard and seen , would be an understatement! Please give me some time to find out the facts regarding this matter and I will get back to you again . There is NEVER an excuse to do what this person did , luckily he was arrested and CCTV footage has been given to The Police and I hope The Courts take The Strongest Punishment available to them .
