Was early so not many people but has a good vibe and the experienced staff are great

We visited on Sunday as we really wanted a good vegan Sunday roast and upon tons of research we landed on the Bishop. Let me tell you, their vegan Sunday roast is easily one of the best I’ve ever eaten. I am a vegan chef myself and annoyingly it’s hard to be impressed when eating out, especially at non vegan establishments. Well, this was so worth the trip. My only criticism (which can be read as a compliment and you’ll find why soon) is that I would love to see the same dish offered in a larger portion (would happily pay the difference) because if that was offered I would have demolished it with joy. Service was great also, and the pub is looking FRESH 👌🏻 We will 100% be back

We ordered the vegan Sunday roast dinner. We all throughly enjoyed and agreed it was in the top 3 of vegan roasts. Didn’t take a photo as we gulped it down. Would be perfect if they provided a vegan Yorkshire pudding as an option. Friendly service. Definitely returning.

Excellent new renovation to the pub - the food, in a part of town with a lot of strong competition, is seriously good.

We came for a late lunch today. The place had been closed for a little while for a refurbishment. As we came in, we were welcomed by the lovely Jessica who became our host. The place looks impeccable, we felt comfortable, and the food was absolutely delicious. All the staff were very attentive without being intrusive. Jessica was really nice, professional and friendly. Big thumb from us!

Went here for dinner. And I’m really glad we did! Definitely the best food options/ best menu of all the other pubs along this road. I wasn’t expecting much from this pub and was pleasantly surprised! The portions weren’t HUGE but the food was really high standard. They also had new / unique brewed beers so really nice drinks on offer too!! Choose this place over the others!!

We hired out the Bishop for a joint birthday party. The team was really accommodating and had some great ideas about how to make the event special. Lots of our guests commented on the quality of the food (we had platters at the event to cater for all tastes).

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Bishop on Lordship Lane is a fantastic pub with a cozy vibe. While the beer garden may be small, it’s a lovely spot, and the additional roadside seating at the front is perfect for people-watching on a sunny day. The atmosphere really comes alive on weekends, making it an ideal place to unwind and enjoy good company. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, adding to the great experience. The food is excellent too, with a menu that never disappoints. Definitely worth a visit!

Friday 26th July I was visiting my son for the weekend, he lives in East Dulwich. We had been to a gig at Crystal Palace and decided to pop in to The Bishop for a nightcap! We had a blast! Great music DJ, good atmosphere, friendly service. A tad few than a nightcap was had 😉

Came in to watch the England game and the atmosphere was sensational. I ordered the vegan burger before the game started and it arrived so quickly considering how busy it was! Absolutely delicious. Staff were very friendly too.

just got home from a fantastic night at the bishop, we had gabriel and eve as the servers this evening, they made an effort to make us comfortable and important. it was busy at the time but gabi always had a smile on his face, served us the quickest and the food was excellent couldn’t imagine a better evening out. #crisp_guinness_from_the_bishop big love and see you soon! love drilla!

My server Gabriel was AMAZING! I’ve never felt so looked after at a venue. Made it feel like a home away from home and was brilliant with upselling!!

This is a great local pub! The service is always great and Gabriel was particularly attentive and friendly, he served us quickly and made our stay very pleasant.

Had a great Sunday afternoon watching football here with a friend. Despite it being full of Mother's Day diners (yes I'm a bad son watching football instead of seeing my mum, I know) and it being very busy, the guys at the pub were very accommodating in getting my friend and I set-up with good seats to watch the game. Huge props to Dean in particular for making this happen. Cracking roast too.

A proper pub with atmosphere. Food was really tasty. A few things were unavailable due to a new chef and we arrived late Sunday afternoon for a roast. Great service, great food, generous kids portion sizes and colouring/pens to keep the tiny one busy. Just ticked all the boxes and would happily go again.

After booking somewhere else that had changed the menu on us, the Bishop squeezed us in at the last minute with a table for 5 plus 2 pups on the floor while the football was still on. They rustled up a vegetarian cauliflower steak with trimmings as they had run out of their main veg option, and even two free doggy roasts for our pups. What a lovely evening we had. Friendly and accommodating staff, delicious food, and good vibes.

Everytime i pop in for food and drink i am welcome by warmth staff, Rodrigo is always friendly and helpful. The food is spot on and the drink selection great. Bravo

Nice pub with a diverse beer selection and friendly staff. Wing Wednesday is good value and the wings were nice, especially buffalo but hot honey was good too. One criticism holds this back from 5 stars: the poutine fries were not poutine. They had what tasted like BBQ sauce on them and melted cheese, poutine done correctly is chips with gravy & cheese curds - these are two completely different things and as I hate BBQ sauce I was a bit sad about that. I can understand not doing cheese curds as not everyone in the UK is familiar with it, but guys, you really can't replace gravy with BBQ sauce (kmt)! Rant over, apart from that it was all a good experience.

Had a great evening here with a young and fun crowd. TV screens show the sport. A musician was performing for an hour or so…pretty average but hot people dancing. The music kept playing until late into the night and the atmosphere remained good. Pint of lager was £6.45, so pretty reasonable.

I previously loved coming here and have left great reviews in the past but had an awful experience recently. Wanted to see if we could order bellinis and was answered by a very rude bar man. A no is fine but he was really rude and condescending. Went somewhere else where the service was a lot better and we weren’t made to feel stupid.

This is our favourite pub in the area - the music, vibes and most of all the bartenders (Gabriel in particular makes us feel so at home) are all impeccable <3 every time we come here we have an incredible time - we come for a couple and end up staying until close ;)

I recently got horrendous food poisoning from The Bishop. Just before Christmas, 8 out of 18 of a large group of friends that ate here got severe food poisoning here. My friend emailed the pub and after a long period of time (and after I rang them) got a generic non-apologetic email, saying they'd get back to him (they haven't). When I rang the pub and spoke to the manager to inform them, and check whether had done a check of the food. They were extremely standoffish and avoidant, offering no assurance that they had done a thorough investigation or clean, let alone an apology. I would expect at least the pub to offer to refund the meal. I was bed bound for a week with severe stomach cramps, sadly this being the week in the run up to christmas, I had to cancel several festive social occasions. Additionally, the food was disgusting - warm, soggy, chewy prawn cocktail for starter and lukewarm roast for a main (with half-cooked carrots). It was also pretty expensive which adds insult to injury. Avoid this pub.

This is a great place with friendly stuff that really take care of you. The food is excellent. The prices are decent and the beer is great you should come on over and check it out. I’m not working for them but it is one of my locals

Great Sunday Roast. The guys and girls at a the Bishop are very kind and attentive. It was the first Sunday Roast for us (beef and vegan) and we were a bit skeptical but the whole experience was very satisfying.

We’ve just moved to the area and visited The Bishop three times in the last couple of weeks. On two occasions, the beer we ordered tasty soapy, like the glasses still had dish soap residue on them. It was with two of different beers they had on tap, so it wasn’t just a case of the beer not being to our taste. The second time the bar tenders kindly gave us another pint, but it was still an issue. It’s a shame as I really want to love this pub as it’s our local, but we’ve been put off because of this.

A decent pub but looks and feels a bit tired. So is the service.

Have returned here after many years to find it has the same homely atmosphere but with a more polished finish. The beef burger was great! Very good range of drinks. Service by Gabriel and Dean was perfect. No complaints. Highly recommend.

We had our xmas lunch there on 12/12/23, party of 12 (Dulwich branch). The staff were excellent, hands on, attentive, caring, cannot fault the hospitality. Dean, Phoebe, head chef and all the staff were absolutely wonderful. Every single member of my party enjoyed the food, ambiance and the venue. They made us feel very special. Priscilla

Had such a great night down at the Bishop!! They played great music and the vibes were immaculate. Gabriel was very friendly and ensured we had a fabulous night! Definitely would recommend the bishop to anyone.

Went here last Friday. Bit of a circus.. rude staff. Not sure really what is going on. Witnessed staff pouring themself a little something, which wouldn’t be a problem if it didn’t make them so unpleasant. If I asked to see the manager and was presented with a live chicken I would not in the slightest be surprised. Was gonna pass it off as a bad night until I met up with friends who had a similar experience.

The Bishop is King! If you live in London or planning a visit, then a visit to The Bishop should be on your list. From the moment we walked in to our final goodbye, the whole visit was an experience Par Excellence! Firstly, Rodrigo’s customer service was the bench mark others should strive to follow! Probably the best I’ve ever witnessed in London! Seriously! Secondly, The manager & Chef care! A rare commodity these days. They took pride in The Bishop as a whole and the food in particular. We waited a perfect amount of time for our freshly cooked Seasonal Fish of the Day with beef dripping chips and the Smoked Pork Frank (which is probably the best Hot Dog i’ve ever eaten, Anywhere! & that includes the USA!) The selection of ales and lagers were extensive and such an array of choice would be hard to beat. Jubel’s was an exceptional lager and a perfect partner for the food. Would we recommend it to others? Without hesitation. Will we be returning? Answer not required.

Just had a lovely Sunday lunch with my friend Dee at the Bishop lordship lane . The food was really good lots of it ! Dean the manager and Rodrigues were so polite and helpful . Dean gave us both an espresso martini on the house . Will definitely go back with other friends and recommend you try it xx
