Mocha didn't have chocolate or coffee in it. Foamed milk £4.

Just paid £3.95 for an Oatmilk cortado. Expected so much better independent of that price. Coffee not great. I know ‘latte art’ is not the be all and end all - but it usually indicates that the barista knows what they are doing and also cares about it. My coffee today looks and tastes like it came out of a machine at a service station. 😵‍💫

I only had a capuccino here and it was bitter and burned, extremely bad! However their food looks good hence im giving it a 2 stars rather than a 1 star

Glacial slow service meant I had to give up after waiting over ten minutes. To add insult to injury, the guy serving immediately took an order from his mate who had just waltzed in.

Had flat white coffee and almond croissant. The coffee was in a paper cup and expensive. The croissant was huge. I could not use cash .

The matcha I had was so bad and I drink a lotttt of matcha :((

We went to this cafe for the third time and I always order a flat white but they make lattes with A LOT OF FOAM and burnt milk. Come on people!!!! They don't know how to make a decent flat white but they charge a lot for it! Almost 4 pounds and they don't know how to make decent flat whites?? This cafe is very overrated! I will never go back!!!

Great coffee shop to pop into to grab a great coffee and a vegan croissant. I wished there were more vegan options, and the almond croissant was ok. Friendly staff on this Saturday morning, and the shop was nice and calm.

Hello, I was greeted by a very rude member of staff this morning on entering the coffee shop at 0655 who practically shouted at me on entering that the coffee shop isn’t open and they were still setting up. I said ok and he shouted this again. Please be more courteous to your customers

Terrible coffee, massively overpriced £4.60 for a cappuccino

Handy coffee shop to the station. Has doors to both outside the station and one once you've passed through the station gates. Coffee was ok. Had a large cappuccino, which was a fairly milky, not very strong. Has small range of savory food and sweet one. Had a cinnamon bun which was quite nice. Has about 3 tables inside in the part of the cafe facing outside the station, and two benches outside. Staff were fairly friendly.

Unusual small café inside the old station building at Denmark Hill (shared with the Phoenix pub) with access from both the street and the platforms. Reasonable range of sweet and savoury food. Handy when waiting for a train. Staff friendly.

Very poor coffee quality and wrong size of each coffee type. Late too big and watery, flat white too small... Please take a look at standardised sizes of the coffee in London!

Facing a long journey home I dashed into the cafe for a take away. So glad I did. Great looking place inside, Good choice of food available. I had a cheese and ham croissant, yummy 😋Fast, friendly, helpful service and very reasonable price. What's not to like? Highly recommend this place whether you're getting a train or not 😁

Went here to get a quick drink before i got on the train. Got the vegan boost smoothie for the protein but OMG… worst smoothie i’ve ever had in my life. Made with pea milk, spinach, peanut butter but just taste like processed peas. Spent £3.50 on it and i am very unhappy and disappointed. If u go do not get it!!

Furthest I have ever travelled for a sandwich! Wasted appointment at a "nearby location", but got there in good time so had time to stop at FCB for a bite to eat. Had the croissant with rocket and (pastrami I think?). The guy serving asked "hot or cold?". I asked his recommendation - hot. And it was terrific! Tasty, filling (but not too much) and I would definitely have it again. A tip- I'm sure the stuff on the cool display is fine, and there's plenty of choice there. But I recommend bypassing that and looking at the glass fronted display, which is where I found my croissant. Not so much choice (but I was on the station side, Denmark Hill if you're interested) but well worth a deeper look. Next time I'll use the entrance outside the station. And it was all surprisingly good value!

Good coffee and friendly staff - however they have gone cashless! First time I used my card they took the money twice. It was refunded when I told them 4 days later but what if I hadn’t had easy bank access and checked my account???

Been waiting to try coffee from here for a while as it markets itself as a speciality coffee shop. Really dissapointed. Ordered a long black, it was way too hot, watery and tasted quite frankly like dishwater. Didn't even have time to take it back as obviously I had a train to catch. £3 straight in the bin. Sorry to the cleaning staff who now have a bin full of bad coffee.

The pain au chocolate I was given this morning was stale. This place charges £2.80 for a cup of hot water!!! The price tea … such a rip off. The Barista was kind and apologised but it’s not his fault, he provided an excellent service.

Paid nearly £10 for a milkshake and frappe, probably the worst frappe I've ever head. Should have gone to mcdonalds.

It says here that they close at 20:00 but every time I want to get coffee at 19:00, they cant do it anymore. Not sure if this is their coffee machine or the staff just couldn’t be bothered.

What a wonderful cortado! Full of flavour - a silky but solid coffee, accompanied by a delicious blueberry Bakewell tart.

Really great little offer shop.atta he'd to the station. Gets very busy with commuters but staff work hard to keep things moving. Always have a "guest" coffee bean to try.

Terrible cup of coffee. Tasted like the coffee hadn’t been tamped and was just allowed to run through. If you can’t get a black coffee right, I wouldn’t have much confidence in anything else.

Quick service given the popularity of this place, the coffee was perfect and even the lid was paper so thats brilliant for the environment. Staff were very friendly and make ease of serving everyone from both sides of the counter as this place serves people outside of the station as well as inside (very clever actually)

Coffee nice, panini heated, but not long enough and still fridge cold in the middle. Bit of a let down for tomato and mozzarella and pretty pricey.

Coffee is consistently tasting great every time I buy it before work. Staff is super friendly and baristas know how to make good cup of coffee. The coffee blend is unique and of high quality in comparison to other coffee shop chains. Pastries are a bit pricey but they’re 100% worth the price considering the size of them.

I love this cafe. The coffee is delicious and always top quality. The pastries and food are also very tasty. The best part about this café however, is the staff. The manager is always friendly and welcoming to all. He treats his team with respect and kindness and that is evident as everyone on the team works with a wonderful attitude. Even when the place has a queue out the door they’re all kind and courteous as they work. I purposely commute to work via this station because of this cafe and the team there. Plus, they have a loyalty card scheme which gets you a free coffee and pastry - well worth it for the regulars.

Morning coffee place of choice!

I was shocked to see all of the pastries in the same basket, no allergen notices no where to be seen the pastries had just been thrown in there the place was dirty and no sign of staff cleaning it

I'm a simple man that likes a Latte here and there. Coffee tastes better than the average chain coffee shop at equivalent price. Staff act professional and friendly and deal with your order quickly. Rather small place but there is a community and honour aspect to the shop with easy access condiments and even a dog bowl. Coffee cups are bio degradable plastic or completely degradable material which is a good thing since recycling is failing country wide.

needs a complete overhaul of the staff. i can count on one finger staff that are courteous & friendly & she’s quite new. everyone else is rude & disrespectful to customers!

I ordered a hot chocolate, but it wasn't hot and there was very little chocolate. Expensive. I did not like.

Popped in for a quick coffee ☕ Bit pricey compared to other outlets but guess that's the catchment area. Food looked v pricey I thought though didn't partake. Apologues for no coffee cup lids was a nice intervention but I just NEEDED the flat white which was very good.

used to love this place but unfortunately it’s gone down hill. staff sarcastic, rude & not friendly, if you have an issue with something not quite right they take it personally. such a shame, all the staff here used to be lovely.

Fresh pastries for different taste and different kinds of coffee next to the Denmark hill station. I tried milky chai-latte 🍵, latte and fresh croissants during several visits. Tables are also located outside next to the bricks house.

Ordered a large latte and paid nearly £4 for said coffee, staff were a bit rude and the music in shop was deafening. Upon being given my coffee, the cup was half empty and coffee was cold, worst overpriced coffee ever. Better from Costa in the nearby hospital .

I was there as a custumer with my sister who came from Spain for vacation. We were there everyday around 9 a.m for a tea. We realised and ( we now perfectly how is work in a restaurante and and coffes shops futher my sister is a manager in a restsurant in Spain ) that there was a manager italian manager who first is very nervous and he makes the atmosphere tense between the staff, he wants to have the control of everything but not inhood way.The second thing is he looks at the girls not nice. He looks at the girls with a dirty look like he is intimidating and I know it well because I live very close to the station and I have seen him several times on the street looking disrespectful. obviously I have never returned and I will not return while that unthinkable is there.

staff disrespectful & patronising. needs an overhaul. they seem friendly to some but completely ignore others even when you speak to them & they’ve clearly heard you…rude!

I only discovered this cafe recently due to appointments at KCH. I love their muffins… mmmmm yum yum. So now is my treat and look forward to it. Mocha with blueberry muffins. A bit pricey but the quality and taste is great. Staff are also attentive and very friendly.

Nice coffee while waiting for the train

Use to be a loyal customer of FCB purchasing a coffee everyday before work, and then most days during my maternity leave. However, since the pandemic it's really deteriorated in quality both staff and product. The coffee is mediocre and now overpriced. I visited today for probably the last time. The lady with red hair lacked customer service skills and sorry to say but the coffee was terrible. The manager is friendly when he is around, I think some time training the current staff how to make a good coffee is needed.

Slow service, got my coffee order wrong and the coffee was tepid. Disappointing.

A very unsatisfying experience. I went in on the train station side with 5 minutes until my train. No other customers waiting so I thought there would be plenty of time. The woman serving me ignored me while I stood at the counter to continue a conversation with her colleague for quite a while before acknowledging me. She then took my coffee order and I paid, but none of the staff did anything. Another customer came in shortly afterwards and she also took his order but didn’t do anything with it. She then went over to the other side of the counter to take someone else’s order and immediately made their drink. Her colleague asked the customer who ordered after me to confirm his order and then started working on that. By this time, it was under two minutes until my train was arriving and it was clear that no one had started my order so I had to leave. £3.30 down the drain and staff that clearly don’t understand that customers inside a train station might be in a tiny bit of a hurry…

Yesterday I decided to purchase a last minute order x2 from here. And due to the lack of parking I asked my partner to collect the order for me and to my surprise they refuse to give him the order stating anyone could have screen shot my collection code, I mean how would that even be possible? I could not believe the hullabaloo over some left over food. If it wasn’t for too good to go I would have never heard of this place anyhow. In our too good to go magic bags we had egg crest croissants x2, bacon and goat cheese croissant x1, ploughman sandwich x1, ham and cheese sandwich x1, egg and cheese in a hole x1, and cinnamon and chocolate roll ×2 (overcooked) considering each magic bag is £3.99 compared with Greggs for £2.59 the smooth transaction, variety in the magic bag, price, quality of food and customer service its safe to say I’ll be sticking with Greggs. After reading reviews and my partners review of the lack of customer service and hostility received. Its safe to say we wont be returning. Please improve your customer service your losing valid, undervalued customers.

A nice coffee shop that you can get pastries within and outside of the train station. However, the Americano is very watered down. 2 out of 5.

With about twenty minutes to wait before changing trains at Denmark Hill what better excuse to fill the time by stopping at NCB for breakfast? It’s a long counter and bar dividing a room between its entrances for Roy from the street and the upper station corridor. Those changing trains and visitors from outside alike are tempted by pastries, croissants and the widest range of juices, teas and strong coffees to ensure an invigorating start to the day. I was impressed by a warmed bacon and brie baguette which I consumed with an espresso watching the hustle and bustle outside before I was compelled to join it.

Popped here for a coffee one morning. We joined the queue outside the door and it moved really quick. The coffees were very good and the pastries looked amazing and fresh. This place must be a little gold mine

Absolutely delicious coffee, also does great breakfast and lunch items as well as pastries. Really good selection of food and drinks, and they will grind beans for you to take away for home machines as well.

Nice in London to see smiley faces serving you, especially so early in the day. Added bonus, the lady that served me was Scottish so there wasn't even a language barrier 😁

I will be raving about the almond croissant I had here for a while! The large pastries were fresh and filling, a good selection of both sweet and savoury but not too much. Good coffee made to specific requests. The staff consisted of one friendly lady, it was 9am on a Sunday morning so it wasn't busy, she was very welcoming of the dog - in fact the dog was probably more welcome that the humans 🤣 A nice drink of water and a complimentary dog biscuit was on offer for the pooch. I will certainly go back if I'm in the area again, it was very good.

I adore dog-friendly FCB coffee shop next to Denmark Hill train station. Their salmon sandwiches on dark Rye bread taste like the salmon has just been caught! The selection of teas is also very good especially for a coffee shop. When I'm on leave from my job, I breakfast there regularly - the staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Check it out....

This is a lovely Shop . The food looks amazing and the Staff are welcoming. I bought a Hot Chocolate which was priced at £3.60 for a medium ( which was small ) .The drink itself was not very warm , tasted of warm milk with no chocolate flavour and was a complete rip off. The prices they are charging for food and drink is really expensive . I expect a much better product for the money I paid . When I bought the drink I was asked if I wanted a pastry ( which look nice ) , this would have meant I would have spent about 6 or 7 pounds on my way to work . These people really know how to make money its just a shame they don't know how to make a decent hot drink !!

Worst experience of my life. My 4 year old child wanted water, his 5 year old Autistic brother had a meltdown during me purchasing the water which resulted in a machine being broken and as a result the owner/member of staff abused me by cursing and shouting at me and my children despite me trying to explain my child is Autistic- a recgnoised disability under the Equality Act 2010 and that such items should have insurance if its as expensive as they claimed. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU HAVE A CHILD OR FAMILY MEMBER WITH DISABILITIES.

Im a childcare provider and as someone who uses both the station and FCB with my cared for children it’s pretty worrying to read that they had no patience or understanding for the lady with the 5yr old autistic child. FCB as we enter into the summer holidays your staff could do with some sort of training. I can only imagine how overwhelmed both mother and child must have felt in the situation.

A really friendly cafe by the overground station with great drinks & snacks plus lovely staff and a peaceful outdoor seating atmosphere. Worth making a special trip for. Their Chai latte is excellent and they have oat milk etc. Great muffins!
