The Globe Tavern in Southwark

Called in Last Saturday because it is underneath Bridget Jones Flat and in Borough Market. Loved it, very relaxed and welcoming.

£30 for 2 glasses of wine was totally outrageous! Lots of extremely drunk groups in here on nights out of varying ages at only 7.45pm felt like the atmosphere of a pub at 10.45pm. The toilets were flooded with excrement from the doorway. HOWEVER The restaurant upstairs was excellent! We’d already booked so we’re very worried after the downstairs pub experience. Really amazing Thai food booked through first table. Extremely mixed evening.

Estávamos aguardando um voo para Edimburgo no Heathrow e como nós tomamos pouco café da manhã, decidimos almoçar nesse lugar. Pedimos o famoso sanduíche britânico que vai ovo, bacon e queijo. Junto com ele vinha uma porção de fritas que estavam bem sequinhas. Uma delicia! O refrigerante era servido no copo, mas precisava pagar o refil. O pedido é feito pelo próprio menu digital deles via qr code. O único ponto negativo é não deixarem os passageiros entrarem com as malas dentro do estabelecimento, sendo que é um pouco mais perigoso de levarem a sua mala por engano.

They should learn to treat customers better... leaving aside the rude waitress and then discovering that she was also Italian, she should change jobs as she isn't even capable of pouring a beer. Cold food and long wait

Very average pub, didn't eat here but the fish and chips that another couple had looked amazing

Un pub histórico situado en el corazón del mercado del condado, una visita obligada para tomar una copa o algo de comer, un fantástico interior con brillantes lámparas de araña de cristal grandes que son increíbles para un pub. Una gran selección de cervezas, vinos, etc, un servicio amable a pesar de que era un almuerzo muy ocupado antes de Navidad. Un excelente lugar para parar para un descanso cuando visite el mercado de Borough, que es otra visita obligada en la zona! Situado en el lado sur del puente de Londres, es fácil llegar desde el puente o la estación de metro de Borough. Una zona de Londres que se puede perder fácilmente, pero bien vale la pena la visita!

We took our food from Borough Market here and ate it while enjoying the excellent cask beer selection. We got to talking with the owner for a bit and he gave us several very cool glasses to take with us when we left.

Nice vibes but I woman in the white fluffy jumper seemed really off. Quite rude earlier on in the evening then like she was just maybe drinking too much throughout the shift to know what was going on!

Didn't have food. Place is tiny. Only has one toilet in the lady's, cramped and dirty. Did not stay to finish our drinks.

One of the best places to have an English Pint. Upstairs is where the bridget jones movie was filmed. They invite you, as the Borough market is next door, to bring your food and drink your beer there. Brilliant

Usually good experience, but owner was quite rude when asking if the pub was open. A shame as I was quite fond of the place before our interaction

El personal pensó que no podíamos oírlos cuando blasfemaron contra nosotros. Muy poco profesional. Evita este lugar a toda costa.

Really poor service and overall experience. Ordered two Bloody Marys and was literally handed the ingredients and told to make it myself. They charged me £35 for this DIY disaster.

Popped in here for a quick gin and tonic following a meal locally. Really good friendly service from the lovely lady behind the bar. I will be back next time in the area for a longer session. Thank you.

Great place for a pint, next to Burough market.

A great, proper London boozer. Excellent staff, great service, and as long as the market isn't packed with tourists and great setting 😅. Really can't go wrong popping in here, or spending an evening there, really not to be missed if you appreciate a proper pub!

This stalwart of Borough market & Bridget Jones has been enhanced by recent new management, excellent for a schlurp and people watching.

Fue fuera de su horario de apertura, pero él proporcionó un vaso bellamente preparado con fresas para colmo. Es este tipo de amistad y ayuda lo que restaura mi fe en la humanidad. Rude rude rude bar staff to the point it was aggressive and intimidating. Don’t waste your time or money here there are many other and better places to visit.

Nice pub with a relaxing feel. Even though it's in a very busy area

Three of us had the recommended Katsu Sandu deconstructed sandwich and it was extremely salty. We had a few more very small sides and a handful of soft drinks and the bill was well over £100. A ridiculous price for what you get and another example of a wanna be posh restaurant with massively over-inflated prices. Chips were really dry and tasteless too. Oh and a can of (pretty flat) sparkling water is £2.50 (which I had to order twice because they forgot it) Won’t be coming back

Decent pub with good selection of beer

You get yourself upstairs, you order the katsu sando and the sliders (don’t have pics) and you thank me later. Absolutely insanely incredible.

We went on a Saturday afternoon, it was super crowded, but we found a seat pretty quickly. Good, cold beer. We only stayed in the pub part. Next to Borough Market.

Proper UK pub. Loved it again and again.

Lovely vibe outside. It was very busy and animated. Looking forward to going again. Didn't eat or drink, but waited for a friend to finish as we had a table for the restaurant opposite.

We visited on a weekend trip to London and absolutely loved the atmosphere. The licensees Chris & Archie clearly love their job (you can’t fake their enthusiasm) and we stayed all evening. They even have the cutest dog, Jasmine. Don’t pass by, give it a go you won’t be disappointed.

Stella unflitered on tap - lovely. Cracking little boozer and reasonable London prices. Barmaid was nuts though, shouted 'stop staring at me' when trying to catch her attention for a pint. Wouldn't mind but she was dancing about like a fruit-loop rather than serving. What a generation.

Can’t believe they’re serving pints outside in single use plastic. Lazy, terrible for the environment and terrible for keeping a beer any kind of reasonable temperature. £14 for two Guinness in plastic. Joke!

This pub is a good place to go fir a drink yo get out of the tourist trap that it sits in, it's never really that busy people don't seem to notice it.

Popped in here before going on for lunch on Sunday. This is a really nice old fashioned pub. The staff were friendly & welcoming. The Guinness was good.

Looking for a pub before the Millwall match? With the market next door you can have good food and drink here. Staff are freindly and welcoming. The pub as that cozy feel too. If your in the area I recommend this pub

Plastic cup extravaganza... Paint of Four Pure almost £9. Avoid this dumpster fire of a pub. Too many good ones in the area to spend your money here

Decent pub in the middle of Borough Market. It's usually standing room only during the day at the weekend.

Visited late yesterday afternoon. It was freezing cold outside and not much warmer in the pub. To cold to take coats and scarves off, everyone was wearing their coats. Welcome wasnt much warmer from the staff .Tried to engage in conversation while being served but to no avail.Nice little snug area in the corner with comfortable seats..Ladies toilet not over clean and toilet seat was loose.Better pubs in the area.

Great pub for a couple of pints yesterday. Very welcoming traditional looking pub with a nice relaxed feel. Beer was in fantastic condition and there is a very good choice. Prices were very reasonable for the area too. Another bonus is they are fine with children in the pub unlike many others in this area so ideal for families looking for a refreshment stop off 🙂

Busy post work venue. Great mixed crowd. Nice range of draught and busy teams working hard!

Incredibly rude female member of staff. Threw down the card machine when required to pay and stared us out. Avoid unless you like a bit of pantomime when being served your drink.

There is no food - you can bring your crisps or sausage roll. Very friendly laid back staff. Proper market boozer. Not to mention the Bridget Jones setting. 💛

Closed early for no reason - officious, unreasonable. I’d give this place zero stars if I could. Why have a sign on the door stating opening hours if you’re determined not to honour it? And why serve people drinks if you’re then going to force them out into the rain within minutes? Shameful.

Amazing staffa and great atmosphere

Erfreulich ist, dass diese Bar ziemlich versteckt und etwas abseits der Touristenpfade auf Gäste wartet und man hier unter Einheimischen und ein paar Studenten wirklich eine schöne Zeit mit gutem Bier und tollem Wein hat

I used to work here when I landed in London I knew working on Friday and Saturday would be a great way of meeting people and I was right! This place was a riot and I loved it very fond memories and the owner was a cool guy, he ran it from the shadows but when ever you seen him you knew he was a straight up guy with deep pockets to ensure the beer was always fresh regardless of the foot fall. Very happy memories.

Young lad serving on Saturday at approx 2pm was lovely, but the young girl serving was rather rude. Pub was clean, but the toilets were absolutely awful & filthy.

Great location. That's 1 star. Nice punters, that’s another. No stars for the bar staff (maybe they are new) who were basically uninterested in customers and service. All friends behind the bar but not providing a great experience: spilled a customer’s drink and walked away, provided a ‘head heavy’ beer, no comment, no eye contact and no engagement or even acknowledgment. Terrible service from current staff. I’d send them out to learn basic politeness and wouldn’t trust them with customers.

Normally when someone comes to London to visit I always take them to this pub, because of Bridget jones and stuff, well this last Friday I went and I got really disappointed ☹️ lots of staff behind the bar and even though they were polite, there were no customers and still you had to wait to be served, the toilets 🚽 in a bus terminal were cleaner than those, it was disgusting 🤢 and to put the cherry on top of the cake the draft beer was hot… hope you guys can do something about it… the place is nice and the location is perfect, I’ll keep on bringing customers around I just hope we won’t have the same experience.

Get some food at Borough market and a beer here.

Fine old English pub in the heart of Borough Market. I'm told Shakespeare himself enjoyed a pint there back in the day.

Brilliant pub, very noisy, great beer. Bar tenders very quick to make eye contact and serve and advise on the lager and IPAs. I had a Guinness which was excellent.

Atmosphere without being either dingey or crazy-busy. Roadie IPA is good.

Bagged a table on a busy Saturday night. Great prices considering the area. Obvious link to Bridget Jones made it a winner with the Mrs too!

Had a few beers with the boys. Was OK.

Spoke to your staff just now. They are extremely unhappy and want to kill themselves (their words). Barry - sort your pub out and get more than 2 staff on a Saturday evening!!!

Bar staff were great, but the "bouncer" was not. He seemed to turn up just an hour before closing, was very rude to some customers, and promptly kicked us all out a good half hour before advertised closing time. After speaking to bar staff, it seems they are aware of his behaviour and they are well aware of it, and is an ongoing issue. He wasn't wearing any ID either, so who knows if he even has a license... Would urge management to address this issue, as staff are clearly unhappy also.

Had a post work catch-up with a friend and was pleasantly surprised overall. Managed to get a table and order a few gins. Pricing was very reasonable. Would visit again.

A lovely pub and great staff. My friend became Ill while we were there and the staff were amazing. They knew what the problem was (low blood sugar) and provided a bottle of coke and support while she recovered. Definitely worth a trip.
