I have a toasted sandwich I love, it's antipodean in origin and I call it the Jademan sandwich. It has bacon cheese and tomato with hot sauce and banana. Many have made this sandwich for me over the last 24 years in the UK but none make it better than Gary and he certainly is the best company if he has the time, while you wait :-) The prices are also very reasonable, especially for the breakfasts and burgers. Good tasty food at a good price.

A lovely little pub, very clean and tidy, with a great atmosphere, booked for 11 of us, we were sat in our own little section away from the hustle and bustle of the pub area. No complaints about the food, absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were phenomenal. The waiting staff were friendly, polite and professional no request was too much. Highly recommended and will be returning

Went in this Tuesday morning, as I do most Tuesday mornings. And the staff is always so sweet and so welcoming. The owner is amazing, as are the other girls. No one makes a matcha and a bagel quite like this lot 🤗

Visited for lunch, very friendly staff, food is home made and I had a really nice hot sausage roll with salad and my wife had an equally nice toasted sandwich. The coffee was also good, will definitely Visit again.

So gutted to hear this lovely place has closed down. How sad. They were so popular too! The best scotch eggs around & apple strudel as well as the baklava! Where shall we go now?! Thanks for all the happy memories there and the great service too!

For the last year I have been working at Hemel Hempstead. This cafe was recommended by a contractor as a good place to eat. They were not wrong. Everytime my team and I are in Hemel we always go to Maylands Cafe. The place is spotless, excellent prices, excellent food and the staff are always helpful and polite. The hot drinks are superb and the cost is really good. The location offers decent parking in the immediate location and the food is both tasty and quick. They can get busy at certain times, however we normally get there just after 8am and get served, seated and fed rapidly. This is how one of my fav places to go when in the area.

My fiancee and I had afternoon tea at Par 3 this afternoon. It was excellent with delicate sandwiches and far too many scones, jam and cream. The price was very reasonable too, just remember to book (at least an hour) as they make things fresh. Brilliant after a round of golf!

We had a wonderful lunch at Make Believe yesterday. I enjoyed a tasty salad, while my friend had a jacket potato, which she really liked. The portion sizes were generous and the prices were very reasonable. The children were happily occupied with the play facilities, including a giant sandpit and a playhouse, which gave my friend and I a chance to relax and catch up. It’s rare to find a spot that combines great food with child-friendly entertainment—this place is a real hidden gem. I forgot to mention pudding- I had the most delicious crème egg cookie. What a fish and chips shop. Excellent fish, top notch service. A true gem

Food was lukewarm. Onion rings undercooked. Though burger filling was very tasty , noted burger bun has been reduced. Do not bother with deserts , as over charged fir what is provided

I stayed for 1 night. Everything about the establishment is excellent! Staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is comfortable and convenient and the pub has an excellent atmosphere. The bar menu is generous and the food is great quality. I also had breakfast which was up to the same standard, served by a very friendly and attentive staff member. Highly recommended and I will be staying again.

I come to the farm shop every week for my yummy bread and delicious free range eggs! Often buy jams, etc too! Very friendly staff and good quality produce! A must to visit!

The manager of the pub is an amazing landlord and the young lady behind the bar is amazing, Julie i’ve got a car wash this weekend coming up and it’s all for a good cause car wash with a DJ and all that it’s a lovely little pub
