Sandwich Makers Diner in Dacorum

I have a toasted sandwich I love, it's antipodean in origin and I call it the Jademan sandwich. It has bacon cheese and tomato with hot sauce and banana. Many have made this sandwich for me over the last 24 years in the UK but none make it better than Gary and he certainly is the best company if he has the time, while you wait :-) The prices are also very reasonable, especially for the breakfasts and burgers. Good tasty food at a good price.

Always phenomenally tasty and well presented food. Fantastic service from the friendly staff and well priced as well. Highly recommend to anyone that is looking for a nice breakfast or any roll, sandwich or baguette. Cheers Gary!

Great little café with reasonably priced good quality food. I ordered sausage & bacon baguette and wish I was there every day to eat it over & over again it was so delicious 😋 The atmosphere in and outside is very welcoming, just wish we lived closer to visit more often.

The three of us were starving after an early 18 holes at Batchwood St Albans.Couldnt find anywhere local that was open and finished up at the Sandwich Makers Diner at Bennetts Gate. Friendly welcome, bit of banter,spotlessly clean. Food was delicious, freshly cooked and we were all full afterwards. A very reasonably priced Cafe and the bacon was fantastic. We will return after we next play again. Thanks again Pete

After three of us had a really early round of golf at Batchwood St Albans we were starving. No where was open so we finished up at the Sandwich Bar at Bennetts Gate shops. Very friendly staff, nice bit of banter, spotlessly clean and the breakfast was delicious and very filling and it was reasonably priced. We will definitely return the next time we play. What a great find. We regularly stop here (at least twice a week) when we are going past on the M25 far better than the motorway services. At the moment very socially distanced. The food has never let us down and the staff are so welcoming. From a simple sandwich to a full blown English Breakfast, it’s absolutely luverly and delicious., and a great mug of tea. The staff tell me that they now deliver, so if you’re local that’s a great service, shame we don’t live a bit closer. Thank you Sandwich Makers Diner😋

Freshly cooked food and sandwiches/rolls. Staff are lovely. Loads of seating in the clean airy restaurant. Always perfect for a cheeky fry up.

Go there nearly everyday great staff great food. Just wish they had minted lamb more often lol. But seriously the best place for sandwiches in hemel

From time to time I frequent this restaurant. Not only is the food great, the décor and music is different. Great in fact. As you would expect a fry is available up all day as well as vast array of hot and cold snacks. There are many restaurants of this type in Hemel, and though I cant say that I have been to most of them, I have however, frequented quite a few, and in my opinion his one is definitely by far the best. Great food, great staff and atmosphere

Great little diner, very friendly staff, food is good and well priced, plenty of parking and great venue for the monthly hot rod meet.

I like laid back, family atmosphere. And of course they make quite good food as well. I had a chance to have a full English breakfast which is filling and tasty. Besides that pancakes with bananas and cream are magnificent. Truly recommend this place!

Excellent traditional café food with retro look décor. my favourite place for a 'heart attack' breakfast. 2nd Sunday of the month there's a Motor Mayhem meeting for vehicle enthusiasts.

I visit the Sunday Mayhem events each month (second Sunday) and the atmosphere/ service and food are always excellent. I can highly recommend it

I get a sandwich form here sometimes and they are always fresh and well filled. The staff are always friendly. A good mix of people go in there and It's reasonable in price .
