Awful. Paltry, typed menu with very little to choose from - no fish, festive meal, gammon, chicken, etc. I ordered whole-tail scampi but received a helping of the smallest scampi balls ever seen, with a few chips and peas - all only warm. Dessert of Banoffee cheese cake which tasted nothing like it, with a coupe of slices of banana and about 6 minute blobs of chocolate in the most unattractive arrangement possible. Lukewarm coffee to finish. I know its not masterchef but this whole experience was dreadful and worse than a roadside cafe. Receivership looms?

Lovely old pub right by the sea wall. Was welcomed warmly by staff and quickly shown to a table. Food choice was good- typical pub fare but freshly cooked, well prepared and served quickly. Just what we were looking for in a cold day. Would definitely recommend and will return.

The drive was nice with view of the country roads. On arrival rooms are very basic not much to view apart from the Pods and fields. Unfortunately, there are no facilities at the hotel e.g. spa, gym, etc just a bar with small sitting area that closes at 12am. As your in the middle of no where you literally spend time in the room & go dinner then back to room😮‍💨 The hotel doesn't offer any other food e.g. Breakfast apart from the dinner which you pay for in the stay which is also overpriced. Personally, Food & drinks overated it needs to be reviewed as you can get a better variety of quality food in other places especially local vendors on your high street. The building itself is historically beautiful for private hire as you can utilize the grounds but waste of money for travel, dine & stay. You can better value & quality in Holiday Inn! Recommend to visit Pods in London instead more to do for a day & night trip.

Updatw: Another excellent roast! Sharing platters were fab. Staff fitted us in short notice. Food was top drawer! Excellent roast! And I mean 1st class! 7 of us were seated and served within 10 minutes notice that we were coming! Very good service, polite staff. We were all really pleased with our meals especially the cauliflower cheese and tasty gravy. Will return for sure! Geoff Grove

Me & my partner both looking forward to dinner after a lovely day, we randomly popped in to the anchor my partner ordered from the menu i ordered from the specials oh dear it wasn’t very special swordfish and noodles The fish was like a frisbee and bland it looked like fish bait the noodles tasted gooey over cooked and soggy more like sharwoods out of a pack not to mention the bottled sweet chilli sauce I did mention this to the 1st waitress who wasn’t understanding but did get offered a free pudding ps once I complained this dish was taken off the specials The only consolation was the very polite waitress who took the payment and was very understanding I left very hungry and was charged for a zero Standard meal I must add I’m a trained cook and would never of served this dish poor poor poor

Not bad for bangers and mash I get that prices wasnt going to be cheap. However roughly £16 the same price as a sunday roast for sausage, Mash, bowl of peas (which they did give seperate as i requested) and a yorkshire Pudd. The portion size looked small but was definitely enough! 3 lovely sausages and the mash was good too. Not such a fan of the yorkshire pudd or the pieces of herbs and the gravy wasnt great. Otherwise it was rexommendable. Farmers arms is a good local pub-restaraunt.

During a recent work trip, I had the pleasure of staying several nights at The Jolly Sailor in Orford. The place exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and friendliness that immediately made me feel at home amid the oak beams. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and were incredibly flexible in accommodating my request for an early breakfast that I needed to get to work on time. Their attention to detail and willingness to meet my every need was outstanding. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. Every corner, from the rooms to the common areas, was spotless and well-maintained. The care and pride the taken to create the perfect environment was exceptional. The food on offer each evening was excellent. However, breakfast - that was made to order - was superb with a special shout out to Terry who could never do too much for me. Of particular note, were the fresh kippers and the smoked salmon which they sourced from a local smokehouse only a few steps away from the front door of the pub. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing retreat near the quayside, surrounded by oak beams or simply a convenient base to explore the area, The Jolly Sailor is a fantastic choice. With its warm atmosphere, friendly service, and exceptional standards, it’s a place I’d happily return to and would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone.

On a recent trip on the Norfolk Broads, we happened upon The Dog and had some lunch. Nice welcome and really good food! The Dog Menu was a particularly nice touch, bought some treats for the pooch, which she loved. The food was so good that on our last day, on the way back to the boatyard, we did a little detour and returned for another meal. Highly recommend, will definitely return! Thank you.

. . Chef jefe bien hecho, Andrew.
