Had Sunday lunch in the garden. Lovely setting and very pleasant staff. Our Sunday roasts were of good quality but the potatoes and veg were cold. Such a let down and it is the second time we've experienced this. Surely hot food should not be such a change?

Food ok, the maitre d was initially helpful, but in conversation he exposed his dislike of “wokeness” If you are in anyway DEI aware/supportive, I’d suggest not eating/drinking here

My wife and I had a lovely lunch with guests on Tuesday but unfortunately the sandwiches fell short of what we expected and had enjoyed previously. The Garden Herb Focaccia bread turned out to be normal type bread that could have be used for a hot dog (not a herb bread at all) and the 2 Sweet Chilli Chicken with mayo sandwiches were just chicken with mayo, no chilli at all. My wife and I have eaten here on several occasions so are aware what it should be, but as we were with company felt that it would be embarrassing to complain at the time. Disregarding this I would still recommend the Lytton Arms as it might have been a small hiccup due to it being so busy and we believe they were short staffed.

Perfect! I met two friends for lunch on a Monday - the food was delicious, service was excellent and it was great to find somewhere as nice as this actually open on a Monday!

Stopped on the of chance for lunch as passing by and car park full. Was a great choice lunch was delicious I had the truffle Mac & cheese and chilli mussels. Also great beer selection and staff really friendly.

Food was lovely, seating was comfortable, but five stars to Danielle who was so helpful and attentive! I have an allergy that isn’t standard, she helped me so much going through the menu for a safe choice, best help I have ever received is in regard's to this allergy at any restaurant!

This was the perfect end to our 11km Saturday morning walk from Welwyn Garden City. We arrived a little early for our lunch booking so sat in the bar and had a couple of pints from a very nice selection of craft beers. It was very busy so would definitely recommend booking. Both our meals were absolutely delicious (sausage and mash and the venison steak). We were both far too full for dessert. Friendly service and a lovely busy buzz - seemed very child friendly, there were several groups with young children. Looked to be a nice garden area for when the weather is warmer. Will definitely return soon!

Lovely cosy atmosphere, excellent food and wine and great service. I had the chicken wings, followed by the venison pie - both delicious.

We had an amazing meal At The Lytton Arms. The service was brilliant very attentive. They let us have our table early and bought our drinks over to us. We hadn’t seen each other for a while and the poor waitress had to keep coming back whilst we made up our minds but she was so lovely and patient. The food was delicious from starters to desserts. I would definitely recommend going there. If you like real ales there is a great selection. 10 out of 10 for everything

Service very poor we waited for ever and a day for the food which is expensive as is the drinks I had prawns very very chewy cd not eat them and didn’t want to take the risk I was informed they wd speak to the chef no one come back to say anything on the matter When the bill arrived the prawns were fairly taken off It was a very cold day we asked if the radiator cd be put on as we were in the conservatory this was agreed and did not happen Some food was lovely to be fair but not mine Some of the staff pleasant a couple of them very sour faced to say the least Cdnt pay at the table as staff cdnt manage to deal with it had to go to the bar to pay and queue up We won’t return sadly ruined a good day

We called in to the Lytton with friends for a catch up and a couple of drinks, but we stayed for lunch and had a great time. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, and the service was excellent. They have good beers, kept perfectly - which isn't always the case in some other "traditional" pubs. John runs a great ship and his staff are a real credit to him. The food was exceptional, and we all had plate envy watching other peoples meals coming out. You HAVE to try the baily's crème Brule! We will definitely be back to sample more great ales .. and maybe another dessert or 3. Thanks guys.

Had lunch yesterday with a friend who was visiting from Oxford, we called 15 minutes before arriving to ensure there was plenty of space for us and we were told they could absolutely accommodate us. On arrival we were told to sit anywhere and at the time we were the only ones in the conservatory. We were not greeted or given menus and so I had to go to the bar to collect them. We were not told of the specials and the service was just all a little lacklustre. Once given the bill we were told someone would be back with the card machine but again we were forgotten about so I took our bill to the bar and paid on our way out. Could not fault the food but the poor service meant we only had a main and one drink each which would have been different had we been well attended to.

Second visit here but the first one for food. This is an absolutely delightful pub with a very countrified feel to it. The garden is a real sun trap and overlooks rolling fields. Decor tasteful and welcoming. Great food and service - there was nothing not to like or enjoy. We will definitely be returning.

Great atmosphere, welcome and food. Staff attentive and on the ball, being a larger group it was a welcome effort when the order was taken at the table.

Curated guest beers, well chosen wines and freshly cooked dishes from a broad based menu. Topped with free Friday night live music and a warm, friendly welcome. What’s not to love??!!

The Lytton arms is a great pub for excellent Sunday roast. Location wise is perfect and they team have been great hosts on a couple of occasions. Very knowledgeable and also keen to go above and beyond with recommendations. The yhelped us host a Sunday lunch/wedding reception for 30 people and the team was great! Always helpful and keen to assist with any enquiries we had or anything we needed. Communication was great through out. The food was also delicious, all of our guests were extremely happy and said that they liked the food a lot, considering some of them had Sunday roast for the first time - they had an amazing experience trying one of the best roasts we have ever tried. All of the plates received great comments from the guests, well done! We will visit you again for a more relaxed lunch this time.

We had a gathering of 8 friends at the Lytton Arms on Friday 14th July. The food was excellent and plentiful and the manager and staff were very welcoming and provided good service. We sat inside due to the inclement weather, but have enjoyed the garden in the past and can recommend either.

Came here for dinner with friends - couldn’t fault the service or the food, really delicious and such a lovely pub! Can’t wait to come back again and sit in the beer garden in the sun, would highly recommend!

My husband and I had a wonderful meal at the Lytton Arms in the pub garden. We had mains and puddings which were all delicious and in a lovely atmosphere whilst our baby had a nap! The staff were great and service was very punctual, Ray was very friendly and attentive. We had a lovely walk afterwards around the local fields and Knebworth house to burn off the calories!

Family celebration with a dog. We had a first class meal with awesome service from Ray and others which really made our celebration feel extra special. The background music was fabulous and we were even asked if it was too loud. The quality of the food was very good and the whole night was perfect. Would highly recommend the Lytton arms for a pop in drink, food or celebration meal, such a lovely country pub set within the most lovely countryside with beautiful views around the rambling fields of old knebworth. My sister in law booked us in for dinner and I have to say the food and staff were exceptional. Ray was hilarious and so welcoming to us all. We were sat in the area at the back which was a lovely atmosphere and perfect in this heat. We would definitely visit again.

It was a lovely, sunny day, perfect for an outdoor lunch. The website said the garden overlooked fields. Perfect, we thought, for a weekday lunch in the countryside. And, what’s more, we thought it might be a nice place to bring overseas visitors for lunch. We bought drinks and took the menu out to the garden. Only one table was taken, so plenty of choice, and we chose a table that looked out over fields and magnificent oaks. It should have been rural tranquility with just the birds singing but, no, speakers everywhere with really quite loud music. In a pub garden that boasts its rural charm! To add insult to injury, the grass under our feet was plastic. We went elsewhere for lunch.

We hadn’t been to the Lytton for 4 years. The food was fabulous. Really impressed with how the Lytton is looking. Beautiful conservatory and garden area. Ray, the Manager, is great and made us feel so welcome (as did the whole team). Super customer service from all team members - acknowledging us and checking on our needs throughout. We had a window table with a view of deer running in the park grounds. Parrots in the trees opposite when leaving! So happy that we went. The first of many visits!
