Really nice hotel. Room was excellent, everything you need has been thought about and provided. Pub has a nice atmosphere and the food is good, breakfast was excellent. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Really couldn’t ask for any more

We visited as a large group (children, dogs & adults) after football on a Saturday lunch time. We received a very warm welcome. Great space near the bar for a group together. Excellent food - bar snacks and finger foods. The halloumi fries were amazing as was the fish and chips. Great size portions. We will definitely be back! Thank you.

Highly recommend The chequers Inn, as a business user staying away most weeks its extremely refreshing when you have a warm welcome on check-in. All you can wish for when away from home is a clean bedroom with a comfy bed, Nice shower with hot water & a decent bite to eat before getting a good nights sleep. Bonus being a nice breakfast in the morning. The Chequers Inn provided all the above & the rooms have recently been redecorated & refurbished, food was perfect both evening meal & Breakfast. Price was within budget as well, so also ticked that box. All in all a nice stay that sets you up for a good day !! I'll definitely be staying there again when back in the area.

Booked for Sunday Lunch. They phoned on Sunday morning to say that they were just serving the Lunch menu. To late for us to book somewhere else so we went. We sat in the garden as I am in a wheelchair at the moment and my son has a dog who is old and can bark. We were the only one there. One o'clock Sunday for lunch. The manager sat us down in the garden on a round table. We did not know that we were under the speaker. The music was so loud that we could not hear each other speak. We asked for it to be turned down. Still so loud. Spoke to the manager today. He said "Why did you sit under a speak". WE DID NOT KNOW WE WERE UNDER A SPEAKER; Surely, customer service he should have said "YOU ARE UNDER A SPEAKER I WILL MOVE YOU SOMEWHERE ELSE". Let me add here that we were the only ones in the restaurant. We could not move to another table as they are all benches and I am in a wheelchair. It had to be a table. Needless to say that they have lost a few customers ... There are plenty of other pubs in our vicinity who offer good food and above all CUSTOMER SERVICE. It was dreadful. A waste of our money and time.

The Inn is a nice place so should be a great experience. However the breakfast on the two occasions I’ve eaten there have been poor. The quality and taste doesn’t live up to the menus description. Granola Bowl was unexciting and fruit blend was bland. French toast should have come with ‘fruits of the forest’ the only forest fruit may have been blueberries (but they don’t grow there) NO blackberries, raspberries ETC. The ‘whipped lemon Mozzarella’ was a dry mozzarella ball with lemon rind. NO sign of any whipping going on. Sounded like it should have been light and fluffy. It WASN’T! Also the candied pecan was basically rock candy too hard to cut or even bite for fear of loosing a tooth or hitting another table in the crossfire. Eggs Benedict had hard yolked eggs, the Muffins where uninspired and the hollandaise didn’t have any zing or fresh taste. Previously I had an ‘American ’inspired bacon and pancake stack that was pancakes and floppy (non-crisp) bacon stacked in alternate layers. ANYONE who has had pancakes and Maple syrup stack in North American would not expect this. At best it would be crispy bacon on the side. I can only assume whoever running the menu/kitchen on that shift just reads a menu and tries to imagine what that might be like and mimics it without ACTUALLY knowing what it SHOULD be. As lovely as the staff and place ARE, I couldn’t go back for food

Excellent welcome and service for breakfast. They provided a gluten free roll, as I am a coeliac. It was dog friendly, we sat in the pleasant bar area. Highly recommended.

The family and I went to the chequers for Sunday Lunch over the Easter weekend, and it was fabulous.
