Came for lunch here today and was pleasantly surprised ,overall a very good lunch,the only issue we had was the garlic bread with cheese,although well cooked it needed more garlic and cheese ,had the signiature king prawn cocktail followed by fish and chips and Mac n cheese ...all of which were delicious,hot and good value,desserts were also excellent and a good choice on menu,had our favourite wine and was also reasonably priced,had a great lunch today,would recommend and will be returning.

Food was great and my server Lauren was even better! She got everything right and was so lovely. Would highly recommend.

We visited the Crooked Chimney today with our puppy…. Not only did they stoke up the amazing fire but welcomed us with open arms. The food is absolutely amazing and seriously great value for what you have. If honest for us so far the best roast around!!!

We live locally and visit at least once a month. The staff are amazing, atmosphere is comfortable and the food is brilliant. Ollie was particularly helpful during our visit last night and our 6 year old loved explaining to him our family dessert of “brownie jenga”. Highly recommended for all. We look forward to our next visit!

I would recommend The Crooked Chimney to all ages and size of parties, they were great!

My experience The Crooked Chimney was brilliant. A refreshing range items on the menu as well pub classics. The staff were polite and attentive, with the food being served to my table promptly, hot and really well presented. With just the two of us having a light lunch I can strongly recommend thd baked Camembert.

We hadn’t been for ages as it got a bit hit and miss but sadly, it was another miss. Service was slow, seating area was dirty and tired, there were 4 of us and we all had starters and mains, all the starters were dry and overcooked bar a prawn cocktail. The main was OK but we were all underwhelmed with our pale pies and the best bit about it was the veg. My husband really enjoyed his steak and chips though. The staff were really friendly but the food really let it down. Such a shame as really used to love it here.

Very warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The food was generally good although the pizzas came without chillies (spicy pepperoni) and my salad came without dressing and although it was chicken, bacon and avocado I only had one small piece of avocado. The manager was really friendly and very nice to my son’s dog!!

We were served by Sean who was brilliant throughout the evening. We had a big table and he was really helpful and patient. Food was excellent too!

Had a lovely meal on a Friday evening. Great quirky pub with lots of seating area spread out in small private areas. (Just mind your head if you’re tall). Even though it was ‘summer’ and cold, the pub was cosy and warm with the fires on making it feel traditionally welcoming. Easy to book. Good friendly and polite service. Food was excellent.

Arrived late afternoon on a Sunday post the lunchtime peak. Ellie our waitress was first class. The food was really lovely and clearly the staff are operating as a strong team; a great meal to being to a close our 'round Britain tour'. Thank you.

Lovely country Pub Friendly staff

We came for an anniversary dinner because the menu looked good. Everything was simply disappointing. The service was slow even though the restaurant was practically empty and we were rarely checkwd in on. We ordered a glass of Freixenet prosecco and were told we couldn't have it because they only had one stopper which was in use so couldn't open the bottle or it would go to waste. We were then bought a cheaper prosecco from the open bottle that was almost flat. When we reported this, we were told it had been opened earlier that day and had the stopper in. Staff refused to open any other bottle. Our main meals were both dry and overcooked and this was clearly visible when they served the seabass with scorched skin. We could smell that it was burnt before it was placed down on the table. The interior looked dated and tired. Staff were flat and showed no personality and little care. Overall a very disappointing visit, we will not be returning.

Food was delicious - it was well cooked and generous portions! Service was not great, it was slow, almost an hour to get our food but we were given two free drinks even though it was a table of three? I would go again, as it may have been a bad evening.

It was really busy, so we had to wait a while, bu we loved the atmosphere in the pub. Warm and cosy, and best of all, dog friendly!

We had a really lovely meal here today, the staff were lovely and friendly even though our table was awkward. The food was hot and tasty and there was a nice variety on the menu. There were a few slightly longer than usual gaps between courses and table clearance was a bit slow but honestly it didn’t really matter, the staff gave us the space needed to catch up and have a lovely evening. The building itself is older and very pretty although a little worn in some areas. Not enough to put us off though we had a lovely time and will be back.

The service was great, we were served by Georgia which was absolutely amazing she managed to make every request we had work and she was so good with all of the kids, kids adored her. The pub is so beautiful with a huge garden which we all loved.

I just visited this place today , I totally loved the Pizza , super cheesy and drooling , i even tried their Pie , the chicken was properly cooked. We got waited by Edward, he was very polite and gave us lovely suggestions . I love the place , definitely visiting soon .

We had a family get together at the pub this evening and the staff looked after us brilliantly. The food was really good and came quickly. Georgina was really attentive and looked after us so well. Definitely recommend the pub.

The setting, what a delightful place. Waitress was very sweet but had no knowledge on how food is cooked. I ordered lamb & she did ask how I wanted it cooked. Medium rare please, looked at me not understanding my reply. Gave me the tablet and said which one (pink or well-done). Not a good advert 🤔

Great service from Eddie. Food was very good and a good price point. Drinks were ordered and come to table very quickly. Food speed was perfect. Children enjoyed their meal which was also great value.

Booked table on Saturday 27th April at 7.30pm for 6 people. We were shown to table on arrival and given menus . No one came back to take our order so we had to call waitress from bar. She didn't know what the pie of the day was and had to go and ask. We waited a very long time for food to arrive. The venue was cold and had to ask for heating to be put on. When the meals did finally arrive all but one was overcooked

Appalling . Worst chicken burger I’ve ever had the misfortune to spend money on. Fried to a crisp. Rubbery chicken. Base of the burger bun was not toasted. Shocking . McDonald’s have nothing ti fear.

I haven't been to the Crooked Chimney for quite a while and I remember it as a really nice pub with good food. The place is ostensibly the same but lacks the style it once had. Lunch was OK, but two of the menu choices ( which we happened to want ) were unavailable. My lasagne was pleasant enough without being outstanding, my friend's fish and chips was alright but again not outstanding. He had asked for garden peas instead of mushy and so the waiter brought mushy and they had to be changed. Tomato ketchup was also asked for but not provided until a reminder was given. The Doom Bar beer was well kept. One great plus here is the abundance of parking. Overall there was nothing really to complain about but little to praise either.

Confused by their covid policy where you couldn’t have a drink outside or eat (surely outside is the best?!) Left a family member thinking they could sit outside and at first pub said no but they allowed with no drinks whilst we’d gone on a walk, we all sat inside for Sunday Lunch and service was very slow and I wouldn’t choose the meal I ordered again. Wine was delicious and fair priced!

I have always enjoyed a lunch at this pub but after last week's dinner experience, I will not being going again. Menu items out of stock, cold vegetables and just a pile of cream with mango for the Eton mess no meringue. Disappointed.

We Had a lovely dinner yesterday menu has a good selection of very nice food and great value also! Nice pub, love the open fires! Its really cosy! service is friendly, pub is clean and well kept! my friend and I are going to try something different next time, fair prices also! I love the open fire aspect of inside, I'm looking forward to more winter visits. Lovely place to eat

Really lovely country pub that I've wanted to visit for years ever since I saw it on TV Inspector Morse . Came here with my wife and mum on good Friday, booked online. Friendly welcome by the manager and super super friendly efficient and timely service by Megan . Nothing was too much trouble, the place filled up pretty quickly but the service was excellent, food was first class and tasty. Felt it was great value for money too. We will come back
