The venue is lovely. The staff very friendly. The food was very tasty but unfortunately could have been hotter.

Food, service and ambiance were excellent.

Great halfway point to meet up with friends. We opted for the Sunday lunch which came with a second course. Good value for money.

What a fabulous place for an overnight stop. Great food Dog friendly, Quill thanks you for his biscuits. Log fire To top it all a lovely walk to the weir in the dawn light.

Great food great atmosphere great staff ,love that you can donate money to buy a homeless person a hot meal .We did this great idea 💡. I would like to have improvement on the choices of non alcoholic drinks only had a few beers 🍺🍺🍺😔.There is a huge choice of non alcoholic beverages so I would like to see a better choice here .Apart from that a great choice of wines and beers and spirits .Food was hot and great congratulations to the team .

Decent food but a long wait, again. We had to hurry up our server and at least 3 families who were in before us had still not received their food. Previously ........So we returned to the CC last week. Friendly staff as ever, but again, a long wait and disappointing food. Our friend's burger and partner's fish looked up to scratch; however our Hunters Chicken was lamentably small portion and my own, small pizza seemed to have constituted chicken and bacon cubed pieces on it rather than real meat. What has happened to the Crooked Chimney? Previously .......... Food is reasonable but not notable - Sunday roast adequate but a steak disappointing. Triple cooked chips hard. Staff are friendly. We had not come here for a while due to very slow service previously - sadly this was no different - over 50 minutes to wait for a Sunday meal.

Overall a nice country pub with warm fires and dog friendly and staff willing to take the time to listen to what I was asking for very enjoyable will be revisiting soon.

Three different servers, all very helpful 😀 The food was quick out of the kitchen and good quality. One suggestion would be a bigger typeface on the menu

Meh. Table wasn't cleared from previous people for 15 mins after we sat down. Roast beef was leather. Pork crackling was inedible. We had to ask for the side serve we ordered when it didn't come out with the meals. Dogs in the meals area inside?? No.

From looking at other reviews my expectations weren't that high for this restaurant but i was proved wrong. Alisha was a lovely server and was very nice to talk to. The roast dinners were exceptional.

Went here on a Friday lunch for dinner with my parents. The service was outstanding from our waitress Louise, she took an allergy order perfectly for my dad showing us around glass onion and how it has to be used. Would highly recommend coming to eat dinner here as service is outstanding and the food is amazing, we ordered a duck pizza, hunters chicken and the pie of the day, food was quick at coming out and tasted amazing.

Perfect place for a chilled cosy night, dog friendly too! Loved the food, had lots to choose from, very welcoming and nice atmosphere. Defo recommend to those who want to bring their dog along and have a good time

This Pub which is part of a chain was sadly lacking the standard of cleanliness you might expect. Having tried to order items from the menu only to find my first two choices were out of stock. A disappointing visit. Our finished plates were left on the table for a very long time before they were cleared. The staff could do with more motivation.

Went for a Sunday roast, hands down one of the best we have had!

Went in at lunch time. Food was really good.

Came here as its our local. Last ate here last summer and the food was awful, last night I had the best meal I've ever had here and stayed for an extra 2 cocktails. Love the dog beds dotted around with free doggie treats. Portions were big enough we forgot about ordering dessert. Will definitely be back alot more often

We were looking for a place to stay over in our motorhome and meet up for a meal with family, before travelling out to the EU at the end of July. We contacted several pubs, without success, but the Crooked Chimney came up trumps for us. They went out of their way to accommodate us. Very friendly and attentive staff. We enjoyed a lovely meal with our family and were able to stay overnight in the carpark. Thank you so much for your hospitality!!

Service was a little slow 2 hours 45 minutes for main course only.

We had a lovely lunch time special meal here last week which was delicious and great value for money. 6 of us visited again today for a late lunch, again enjoying delicious food and excellent service from our waitress Lauren.

Go there monthly for BMW meet, lovely pub mind your head as you go in, friendly staff food is ok sometimes really good sometime average, Good venue would recommend overall

Came for lunch here today and was pleasantly surprised ,overall a very good lunch,the only issue we had was the garlic bread with cheese,although well cooked it needed more garlic and cheese ,had the signiature king prawn cocktail followed by fish and chips and Mac n cheese ...all of which were delicious,hot and good value,desserts were also excellent and a good choice on menu,had our favourite wine and was also reasonably priced,had a great lunch today,would recommend and will be returning.

Popped in for a few drinks yesterday with my dog, great service from Lauren, made us feel very welcome. Very good food and drinks and they even gave my food a few treats. Will be back soon!

Lovely, warm ,attentive staff. The restaurant and pub has an old cosy charm . We had a very tasty meal today and were looked after by Lauren. Well worth the visit.

I think they need to put more BBQ sauce on the Hunters Chicken and maybe a few more chips. I think they had run out of BBQ sauce as when we asked they only had tomato sauce. Lauren the waitress was excellent. Very few people were eating.

We have been to your pub many times and it was good but sadly this will be our last visit. We waited a long time for our food. Asked if it was on its way and it then appeared. The Food had clearly been sitting in the kitchen waiting to be taken out so was cold and congealed. We were given no cutlery had to go to the bar to get some. On payment I told the young man that it hasn’t a great experience. All I got was “oh sorry. “

Popped in for lunch today, Megan was very welcoming and made us feel at home! Food was tasty and we will definately be back soon!

We have not been to The Crooked Chimney for over 40 years. We went today. We had a lovely time. The pub was lovely, old worldy, the atmosphere was relax laid back. Very friendly staff, very attentive. The Manageress came and checked everything was ok and genuinely interested in the customers. The bartender/ waiter Ollie was very good at his job and well trained in all he did.Bought back some lovely memories. Thank you for making today special. Lovely peaceful pub in the country.

Good value, I chose the lunch menu starter & main which was excellent value. The lasagne was delicious.

Very nice meal, service and atmosphere.

Went in for a few drinks just as somewhere different. Have always loved this place as it's away from everything else so the garden out back is a nice chilled place to relax with a few drinks and friends in an evening.

Building is over 200 years old and has some very nice interior characteristics. Very cosy and warm atmosphere. Service is extremely slow but atmosphere and food somewhat compensates for it. Highly recommend the king prawn cocktail and pan roasted lamb. Recommend to visit for a relaxing lunch or dinner and you are not in a hurry/or and extremely hungry or else you maybe waiting awhile.

We visited the Crooked Chimney today with our puppy…. Not only did they stoke up the amazing fire but welcomed us with open arms. The food is absolutely amazing and seriously great value for what you have. If honest for us so far the best roast around!!!

We live locally and visit at least once a month. The staff are amazing, atmosphere is comfortable and the food is brilliant. Ollie was particularly helpful during our visit last night and our 6 year old loved explaining to him our family dessert of “brownie jenga”. Highly recommended for all. We look forward to our next visit!

This place used to be amazing value for money and had a lovely atmosphere. Food portions are ridiculous for the price charged. The pub itself now looks tired and in need of some tlc

My experience The Crooked Chimney was brilliant. A refreshing range items on the menu as well pub classics. The staff were polite and attentive, with the food being served to my table promptly, hot and really well presented. With just the two of us having a light lunch I can strongly recommend thd baked Camembert.

We hadn’t been for ages as it got a bit hit and miss but sadly, it was another miss. Service was slow, seating area was dirty and tired, there were 4 of us and we all had starters and mains, all the starters were dry and overcooked bar a prawn cocktail. The main was OK but we were all underwhelmed with our pale pies and the best bit about it was the veg. My husband really enjoyed his steak and chips though. The staff were really friendly but the food really let it down. Such a shame as really used to love it here.

Had a lovely meal on a Friday evening. Great quirky pub with lots of seating area spread out in small private areas. (Just mind your head if you’re tall). Even though it was ‘summer’ and cold, the pub was cosy and warm with the fires on making it feel traditionally welcoming. Easy to book. Good friendly and polite service. Food was excellent.

Very warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The food was generally good although the pizzas came without chillies (spicy pepperoni) and my salad came without dressing and although it was chicken, bacon and avocado I only had one small piece of avocado. The manager was really friendly and very nice to my son’s dog!!

We were served by Sean who was brilliant throughout the evening. We had a big table and he was really helpful and patient. Food was excellent too!

Eddie was a superb waiter, very attentive and we throughly enjoyed our meal.

Arrived late afternoon on a Sunday post the lunchtime peak. Ellie our waitress was first class. The food was really lovely and clearly the staff are operating as a strong team; a great meal to being to a close our 'round Britain tour'. Thank you.
