We visited end of September, bar staff said they were closing that day.

Really cosy pub, good food, good service and a comfortable cosy atmosphere. Definitely recommend :)

Quick food and friendly staff. Plenty of space at lunchtime midweek. Reasonably priced.

The lady came back to our table, telling she would like to change hubby's because, she notice it does not settling. We ordered just chunky chips to share, and it is heavenly crispy. With quality of food and service presented, we now plan to have walks and dinner in The Sun Inn. 🤗

Consistently creative and good quality menu. The 4 of us all had different dishes and each one was well presented and tasted delicious. A quiet evening but a lovely place to meet friends

OK. Took a while to get the food but it was worth the wait.

We visited on a Monday, and the kitchen was closed. This was not a surprise, as it's clearly notified online that the kitchen was closed. A comfy, country pub. My friend and I just had a cool drink after our walk around Brocket Hall.

Waitress was very nice and food was brilliant. Eventhough understaffed, food still came out on time.

This is a lovely village pub which is ideal for families,party's or meeting up with your friends

Just popped in for a couple of drinks to unwind after work, lovely surroundings, lovely friendly efficient bar staff. A good place to relax

The service was very slow, no 12-foot rule. There are no condiments on the tables. The 3 meat roast looked amazingly. The gammon was cooked to perfection, the beef and the turkey we exceptionally dry and chewy.

My friend and I ordered the 3 meat roast dinner and the riast beef was rubbery, the turkey was dry. The roast potatoes appeared and tasted like they were reheated. There were no condiments offered, the gammon and veg was amazing.

My Partner parents live in WGC so finishing our dog walk. We popped in the Sun Inn in Lemsford. We usually used the Long & Short Arm. Unfortunately at one end of the pub a very Rowdy bunch of kids, very loud, and drunk. Talking to one I think he said they were from Hatfield Athletic FC. What a let down for the pub, and FC. I can only describe them as a Creche, without being supervised. Whilst using the means WC the loo was stuffed with toilet roll. So next time the crocked Chimney. Alex.

A really tasty Christmas roast. 2 turkey and one veggie, which was delicious. The staff are all so helpful, friendly amd welcoming.

🎄🎄🎄We went yesterday as a work group of 15 for Christmas early dinner (1715). The fish pie was delicious, a real surprise! I would certainly recommend based on our experience yesterday. It’s not easy dealing with a large group and the team did pretty well 🙏🎄🎄🎄🎄

Lovely country pub with open fires, might be a bit tired compared to others

We arrived about 1.30 to have a drink and lunch. We were not given a friendly welcome, just asked if we wanted any food. We were shown to a cold area at the back of the pub, with minimal heating. It took about 40 minutes to get any food, and we were just told that the kitchen was busy, no apology. It seemed like nobody cared at all. Other people were also waiting a very long time to be served. We certainly would never go back.

Hayley and the staff looked after our family when we held a funeral wake there. She was very friendly and professional. The food was very nice , lovely and fresh and plenty of it . Would definitely recommend to others

I used to go frequently when they did a carvery on Sunday, but haven't been for a while as it was a plated roast, the last time we went. Stopped by for a pint with the lads on Friday and would go again.

Fantastic country village pub everything about this place is fantastic firstly the pub is full of character and very clean and lovely hanging baskets the staff deserve full credit first class service and the food was awesome we only had the small plates from the menu but all cooked perfectly looking forward to coming back

Warm and friendly and delicious roast dinner! Also really good chocolate brownie!! Quite busy and nice atmosphere in the pub area, looked like lots of locals which speaks volumes! Restaurant area is separate with tables quite spaced so you can have a chat without having to shout!! Love seeing a pub like this on a Sunday as few around now so they must be doing a lot right. It was the best roast dinner I've had in a pub. Hayley and her team were really friendly & chatty. I'm definitely adding this to my favourite restaurants in Herts. I shall be recommending this pub to friends and family for sure 😊

Went for lunch yesterday, lovely pub full of character with a wonderful roaring fire! Welcoming staff, home made soup, warm baguettes with salad\chips, wraps, all delicious 😋. Worth a visit, we'll definitely go again. Thank you.

Very welcoming. I emailed to enquire about hosting a wake for my father, and for the value they, Hayley in particular, allowed our group of 20 to have the entire dining room space to the side of the pub. The service behind the bar was quick and the buffet food put on was great.

Stopped in for a feed with the boys. Flame grilled burger was awesome and the service from the barman was above and beyond.

Absolutely delicious for lunch or dinner, I had the chicken peri peri wrap and it is by far 1 of my favourites now, lovely environment with some of the friendliest staff iv ever met and hilariously lovely owner.

This used to be one of our fave spots for good beer and excellent food but sadly new ownership in last 2 months has meant flat beer on 3 different occasions and the quality of meat go down..such a shame as loved this pub for last 5 years..in this cold weather its not just the weather thats cold as new manager does not want to take responsibility for the issues i have raised … 👎🏾her attitude is ‘no one else is complaining’…. Such a shame as pub is now empty

Lovely country pub with a great selection of Ales, London Pride, Directors and Timothy Taylor to name but a few. Had lunch here and was very impressed, highly recommended! Well worth a visit.

Had roast dinner yesterday. The potatoes had to be thrown in the bin , they were tasting like they were old. Very overpriced for the quality which isn’t worth it. Sorry. . The long and short arm pub around the corners food is far better plus cheaper. The yorkshires were soggy too. My son usually loves them and didn’t eat them they weren’t nice . After food we had tummy aches a bit after. And the meat etc it’s mostly been left. So it speaks for itself. Will give the cat the left overs. Very disappointing.

Stopped for a bite of lunch before visiting the nearby Roman baths. Had the bubble and squeak topped with a fried egg plus a couple of other small dishes. Made for a very pleasant lite lunch

Popped into this gem on our way back from Stevenage Football Ground for a bite to eat. Food was fabulous! I had pan fried sea bass (soy, chilli and garlic) on a bed of noodles and veg and it was stunningly tasty and beautifully presented. Hubby had sweet potato curry which he enjoyed immensely too. Definitely recommend this pub for food and drinks and staff very friendly and a comidating. A little gem of a place 😊

Stopped here for a bite to eat. Dog friendly in the front garden, but not in the pub or courtyard. Pud was clean and tidy. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. We ordered food, which came freshly prepared and piping hot. We had to reorder a couple of items as they were out of stock. Large car park. Would go again

We only stopped here for a drink but the staff were still friendly and welcoming. There was a great range of drinks including some local cider. Plenty of seating inside and outside.

What a great pub to stop in at during our tour of the English countryside. Fiona and Izzy are fantastic hosts. So polite and caring. Always taking time to make genuine conversation. The lunch selections are great and the quality of the food was wonderful. A wide selection of lagers, ales, wines, and spirits. The setting is very nice as there are options of being in the bar, a dining room, outdoor beer garden, or picnic tables up front to take in the sun. Can't wait to come back and visit!

Visited May2022. Drinkies and starters only, at end of long walk. Superb coffee and well-cooked food, nicely presented. Place was packed, full car park. All good signs.

Went to the sun Inn for the first time today with my son and daughter in law , the food and service was superb . I only live a short drive away so will obviously be using this pub more often . There was no room for improvement, thankyou 😁😁

Helpful staff and a good selection of drinks. Pub quiz going on when we arrived but that was not what we were looking for and the staff found us a reasonably quiet corner. Which was kind and helpful of them.
