My daughter and I popped in today it was so warm and welcoming. Spotless throughout a lovey Hatfield Welcome, Were locals so ,lovely to feel so welcome. Will definitely pop in again as felt so at ease. 🙂

Rude blonde lady asked if I was ok and I replied if I was ok to use the toilet please? She replied only if you’re getting a drink!! Im appalled as an IBS sufferer and severely asthmatic, I needed the toilet urgently accessible toilet was locked had to go all the way up and she was rude and didn’t care I was distressed. Lacked understanding and empathy stay away from this uneducated dump! There are other places where you’ll feel welcome. Even the sign outside states « Dogs are welcome, people tolerated » whether it’s meant to be funny I think the only thing to be tolerated here is the bitter faced, rude blonde behind the bar! Stay away and give your custom elsewhere

No food served here. Good service, bit loud of you are going on a Friday due to the DJ being right in the heart of the pub.

Lovely little pub. No food, best pints of Guinness and beer, toilet upstairs, great staff and football shown. Nice areas to sit outside, and fire on in the winter. Opposite Hatfield rail station and busses.

Popped in for a drink and stayed for hours. Had such a good time. There was music and a mixture of ages, having plenty of fun.

This pub posts photos of its customers on Instagram without their knowledge or permission which is actually illegal. Avoid if you value your privacy. Might seek legal advice. Some people for instance vulnerable women might not want their faces put online for all to see.

We had a great night here, a friend had returned from Poland so we decided to meet here. Very convenient placement 2 minutes from Hatfield train station. Had a chat with the bar, both very nice people, polite and welcoming. I hadn't been there since my 20's and had been there for my 18th birthday. Sports are shown here with a decent amount of seating, not the biggest place but gives a more intimate feel. They do have seating behind and some out the front. Well worth a visit if you're in the area, or need a place to go out that you can all safely cross a road and be at the train station in no time. Toilets are upstairs, but a disabled one is available at the back opposite the bar.

Was a lovely friendly pub...we only popped into have a shandy and use the loo, before going to the Paloma concert at Hatfield Hse. But we ended up drinking little Guiness shots AND vodka Toffee Shots....The Land Lady was very friendly and had a chat and a laugh with us....looked like they had a nice garden area too...The only down side is the toilets are upstairs, wouldn't be surprised if people fell down them after a few....dont know if there was a disabled toilet downstairs....That would be my only concern.

Put prices up because of a concert at Hatfield park, will not be returning

Wasn't impressed made the prices up as they went along,started off at £4.20a pint of fosters ended up paying £5 a pint,won't be going back.

Beers were cold, so was the service...

I wanted to write this review to let others know how wonderful this little pub is! We came across the pub when visiting Hatfield House. We popped in for a drink. The food being served looked so delicious we stayed for dinner!! The staff and other customers were so kind and friendly, its if we had known them all for years! I totally recommend this pub. It is also opposite the train station. You will not be disappointed. Go visit!!

Extremely disappointing food. I ordered the jacket potato with coleslaw and side salad. The food took 30 minutes to come out and was some of the worst pub food I’ve had in a while. The coleslaw was nasty and the side salad looked super sad (see photo). Would not recommend for food. The cider was tasty, but that’s not their doing really.

Spent time at this pub last week after a funeral at the local cemetery. I can't praise the staff ( especially Lee) enough for their excellent service and they couldn't be more attentive. They provided a warm , welcoming atmosphere at a very emotional time with excellent food. It was busy fully packed, Price for drink was good, overall very good, thank you

Quintessential British pub right across Hatfield Station. Friendly staff and cosy decor. Met up with an unusual member of a pub... A 16yr old Labrador mixie... The most friendliest of the lot... But yes she prompted me to write a review... A nice place to just grab a pint and chill

Nice beers and staff. Some of the customers leave much to be desired, especially those that can't afford Sky and angrily take over the bar during football games.

Made feel very welcome and with great staff also pored a good pint of GUINNESS

Great local boozer, friendly energetic staff, and great prices also, four jeagerbombs for a tenner, is better than wetherspoons considering they now use a stryker knockoff.

Great pub, directly opposite Hatfield Railway Station, next the the main gates to Hatfield House. Today, hosting the Scallywags, an excellent covers duo, and a perfect entree to the Slam Dunk Festival in the Park. Great pub, good beer and quality entertainment. Field's Best!

Visited the pub ony visit to hatfield house,they now serve food,orded the brocolli stilton soup it was lovely and definatly home made fresh,orded the special if the day ham amd pea pie topped with mash (my choice ) it was amazing again home made.will come back again and tell friends and family.you will not be disappointed.

In Hatfield is one the best, for sure! Really nice and cosy, sometimes it offers live music in Friday night!

Great pub. Convenient if you are waiting for a train as it's opposite the station and displays the train times. Only downside is that climbing the stairs to the toilets is equivalent to climbing Everest.

Popped into this after a nice dog walk around Hatfield house we were welcomed in with friendly staff and locals. They were dog friendly and also provided dog beer and treats would highly recommend popping in. Lots of events and entertainment in the weekend.

Called in after a long bicycle ride into a strong wind ! We were greeted into the pub/restaurant and looked after by some delightful staff . The food was delicious and the ambience was lively yet relaxing. Definitely worth going to .

Good night out, staff are very friendly! Drinks are reasonably priced. Juke box has up to date music. They have a DJ a the weekend. Would definitely go again.

Evitar.

Horrifying place, no real ales, terrible music, odd looking folk. Go to the Red Lion up the road if you wish to enjoy a decent beverage and food.

Frente a la estación de hatfield práctico para los trenes. Paramos aquí para comer algo y tomar una cerveza mientras espera el tren. Pub es limpia y muy bien decorada. Muy bonito jardín: terraza. No podía ver los menús así que no pregunte por la comida. La camarera era bueno pero no interesado en lo que estaba pasando. No hay mucho ambiente y muy tranquilo. Los inodoros están subiendo un tramo de escaleras muy empinadas, así que no es ideal si tienes un par de cervezas.

We went there for a whole week after a hard day work for a drink or two. It was good. the bartender was friendly enough. next week we will be there for another beer for sure.

Se ve muy bien por fuera. Hortera dentro. 4 Bombas de mano pero no ale. Sólo en caso de que no te gustan menos sosa lager, o Strongbow. Servicio amable pero me temo que no compensa la mala elección. I went with my partner yesterday as we had an hour to kill before our train.The pub is cheaply decorated and not very clean. Our table had clearly been wiped down but was very sticky. I realise this could be for a number of reasons but it doesn't feel nice.I ordered a vodka and tonic and a pint of Doombar. There wasn't a slice of lemon in sight for the v&t and my pint just looked wrong. I had to pay 50p to use my debit card, which nowadays is just wrong. I did try to get cash first but the machine outside the station was out of order.I took the drinks back to our table and took one sip of my pint and immediately tasted vinegar. This happens for one of two reasons. Either the barrel was off or they don't clean their pipes. I took it back and even though they have 5 hand pumps for bitter, only Doombar was being served. So I was forced to get Worthingtons instead. Anyone who knows their bitters know that it's cheap stuff with not much flavour and of course because I paid by card, I couldn't get the difference in cost back.This is a pub only for locals. My gf ( as my back was to this) noticed that everyone was using the disabled toilet instead of going to the gents. She also noticed that they weren't washing their hands, which I know isn't the pubs fault but they should NOT be letting them use the disables facilities. I find that a disgrace. It only takes 20 more seconds to get to the gents facilities.They also have a jukebox which was clearly set up with music for the owner/landlord. Sorry, but I really don't want to hear 30 minutes of back to back U2 songs when in a pub. I felt depressed!!

I like this pub it's nice if you want to go in for a quick drink if your train is going to be another hour. But I've been in here for for and all they do is microwave food it's disgusting. Wouldn't go back

I came here with my partner, and I felt very uncomfortable, people were staring at us as soon as we walked in, obviously because we are not regulars. We thought we would give it the benefit of the doubt and revisit but with family this this, but unfortunately our experience was the same for us and also for our family, we stayed for one drink and left. I would describe this place as a good place for blokes having a few beers and a laugh, watching footie. Not ideal for couples or family's I'm afraid to say!

I had a quick lunch at this pub today and this was absolutely a wrong choice. The burger was overlooked, almost burnt. It was hard and it had a strange flavour. A small piece of bacon and cheese were added, as if nothing was inside.Good and smiling service.I asked to pay by credit card and on a total of a little more than 7£ they told me that there was a charge of 0.50£ for payments by card. Absolutely unacceptable and unfair.

Used to be an excellent old Victorian pub right next to Hatfield House and across the road from the station. The original old fireplace & decor have now all gone. Then it changed to a sports bar with multiple TV screens and cut price cheap lager, Now its tarted up, ok for a swift half, but lacks atmosphere. One strange feature is the toilet up a lot of stairs and along a corridor. Not exactly conducive to safe manoeuvring after having supped a few too many.

A handy pub just over the road from Hatfield train station.Recently refurbished the décor looks very nice.Always been served promptly , there is a tv on all the time which can be annoying sometimes.Modern juke box as well as outdoor benches.Have not tried the food so cant comment.All in all a good meeting up pub for a few drinks and a chat.

This pub is across from the rail station. We stopped in for lunch before visiting Hatfield house. I was disappointed. Both the food and the service hovered on the line between "average" and "avoid". If you are visiting Hatfield House eat in their cafe instead of here.

Rolled in for a couple of Stellas and sat i the garden. Overall all your typical estate/station pub atmos: inside with a few locals all sitting at the bar having a jar and a giggle. £3.50 a Stella can't argue with that a must for travellers to or from Hatfield station although I wouldn't go out of my way to spend a night there.

Went for lunch after visiting Hatfield House. Nothing was open, except this pub.The food was perfectly adequate and not expensive. Walking distance from Hatfield House.A very good alternative to eating in the on-site restaurant there.
