The three Tuns ashwell hosted my husbands 60th party last night. Excellent service, friendly staff, great food and disco. Will definitely use this venue again , great fun evening. Thank you

Had a family party here. Lovely pub great staff and amazing Buffett provided for a brilliant price. Provided everything we needed including a DJ & help with showing family photos on tv screens around the room. Couldn’t do more for us thank you.

We hired the function room for a family, significant, birthday party. What a cracking place, great buffet spread, good choice of beers and wines and great service from friends staff. Thoroughly recommend it. Rooms are also available, however we didn't use them.

We all enjoyed our lunch here. The food was delicious and the welcome very friendly. The pub was very busy, but Harley, our waitress, was amazing. She always had time for our table and never seemed to be rushed despite moving from table to table all the time.

Nice beer garden very friendly staff. Good prices good food . Can’t fault the service and good food. They also spoilt our dog

Harley and Becky were fantastic hosts. They poured the most delicious and sort after drinks I could ask for. This was complemented by the great humour of their head sheff Steve which really brought an atmosphere to the establishment

I had fish and chips, but I spoiled it, because the vinegar bottle was literally a bottle, and my mistake I didn't see it had no dispenser within it. The chef made every effort to cook a good meal,to be let down by a poor condiment container. I'm sure that the meal would have been good, but simply give the customer better vinegar dispensers.

Just been to the Three tonns Ashwell for lunch, I had fish and chips, and it was delicious. It feels like a proper country pub, with the ability to serve great food. They have a wonderful garden to sit in, and a area to keep the kids amused. The two bar staff worked their soaks off, to give great, friendly service, and nothing was to much trouble for them. I will be going there again.

Went for house burger as safest option. Tough slab of untasty burger. Strange sauce. Oversalted cold chips. No fires lit on a cold March lunchtime. Large damp patches on wall. Overall not an experience to be repeated in a hurry. Front of house staff nice but over worked.

My husband had booked for us to come here for a mothers day lunch, and we arrived a little after 1:30pm. The pub was packed and the staff were running around like crazy, but were sure to be in control. We were sat down by a young lady with dark, black hair, in the restaurant side on a lovely, big round table and she gave us menus and said that someone would be over in a minute to take a drinks order. About 5-10 minutes later a young man came over and introduced himself as luke and said he would be serving us today. He offered some water and took a drinks order for us, and brought our drinks over. We then waited a bit longer and ordered our food. We heard a few people complaining about the food, but we couldn't believe this as the staff were so polite and professional in their ways of work. We did happen to overhear one of the chefs shouting and losing his cool, which we then believed to be the same chef who came out and spoke to a few of the tables as his voice sounded very similar. When our food arrived it was warm, and there was plenty of it. We then had desserts as well, and we want to thank luke especially for his service and assistance on the day and as well all of the other staff for such a lovely day out. We will definitely be back again!

Eat here last night and the food was very good as was the atmosphere how ever popped in for a sandwich and a pint the next day, the beer was excellent the flat white was barely warm and prawn sandwich was a little dry, could have been better but having said that I would eat here again.

Fabulous meal and amazing service from Crissy. Really great atmosphere and label to take our dog with us too. The gammon was delicious and also the fish and chips.

Came down here with the family and was just going to have a quick drink, but the decor of the pub and the atmosphere tempted us in, so we had a look at the menus. We came on Sunday so my wife had the beef roast, and I had the lamb roast, both were absolutely delicious. My kids had a kids burger and kids fish, both were excellently sized and had been cooked fresh. The chef here must be amazing because everything was fresh and came out within a very reasonable time, and at a fantastic temperature. The Front of House team were young, but all very confident and quick to make recommendations. We were speaking to a young lady who turned out to be the assistant manager, and she was so polite and extremely professional, we couldn't believe she was only 20! She made sure that myself and my family had a superb time, so we will definitely be back again and will be recommending this place to our friends and family!

Had a sunday roast, the service friendy, however rooms where eating were cold, no lit fires, no ambiance what so ever, the food tasteless no seasoning such a shame and a let down wont return. An old building they dont do it justice. Ok for a drink.

Spot on 🤤👍. It was a chilly, wet February day and our octogenarian Mum and Aunt were feeling peckish. We happened upon this pretty venue and entered to be sat by a roaring fire, fed the most delicious sausage and mash (gf) along with a crisp Aspalls cider. Great staff, gorgeous venue, wholesone ambience; we will definitely be back. Thanks so much.

Although this pub is in a great location at the heart of Ashwell, a beautiful building, the current management is not doing it justice : the food was very poor, straight out of a freezing pack at best, and borderline eatable, absolutelynot worth the money we spent. Service was friendly and the room was welcoming enough but not good enough for another visit.

Went in for a few drinks in pub and met Tracey, the most welcoming bar in London and great drinks at prices!

Ordered breakfast ciabatta with extra crispy bacon, tea and a latte. What arrived was anaemic looking /under cooked sausages, under cooked bacon dripping in grease and over cooked fried egg. How could the chef get everything so wrong? We left the pub barely the eating a thing but £24 lighter in the purse. Avoid at all costs is our recommendation

Lovely warm welcome from the landlord. We only popped in for a quick drink but decided to stay for dinner. Beautifully freshly made food - lovely veggies and plenty of gravy with a beef packed pie! Fish and chip Friday deal was superb. Very generous proportions and a great price. Will come again - and again!!

We stayed here in April this year, and had a really nice stay. This time around I can only describe it as pretty terrible. When we arrived we were told that there was an issue with our room, and they had to upgrade us to a better room. Nice, but there were issues, it wasn't exactly clean, with soap/Toothpaste marks over the bathroom bin, only half a roll of toilet paper and no spare, the toilet brush had no holder and was just resting on the side, not exactly hygienic. The bath and the sink appeared blocked and took an absolute age to drain. My partner didn't even need to use the plug to have a bath! We asked for breakfast at 9 as we needed to be on the road by 9.30, and were told that they would ensure they were ready to go by 9, at 8.45 there was no sign of anything or anyone. Someone eventually appeared at 9, but still no bread for toast, no juice, just a pot of very stale coffee with a thick film on the top. When breakfast eventually arrived, about half an hour after we actually asked for it to be ready by, it was a nice breakfast. I just can't help but wonder what has happened to the place in the last 6 months. I don't think I'll stay here again, the service and cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired.

What a fantastic place! Me and my partner stayed overnight a couple of weekends ago. The pub itself is lovely and cosy and the rooms are perfect for a little weekend getaway! Dinner and breakfast was very tasty and the staff could not have done more for us! Dale, the owner was friendly and accommodating. He made us feel very at home. We could not of asked for a better service. We will be going again.

My wife, daughter and I stayed at the Three Tuns on a Friday night in preparation for a family wedding on the Saturday, we had a lovely dinner on the Friday night and breakfast on the Saturday morning, all freshly prepared with fresh produce and lovely service. It was obvious that renovations were in progress and coming from a building background and speaking to the landlord on Saturday morning they are being carried out to a standard in keeping with the age of the building, all credit to the landlord and staff and my wife and I look forward to visiting when the work is completed to view the result.
