Asda in Tendring

I love this store, the staff are friendly, and so helpful, in what l need in the store. I love the home wear and clothes. And the meat is very good too. I don't live in clacton, but when there l always make a bee line to asda, and take thing home with me, for my flat

Is a good store to get what you need.

Good shop there's a big speed humb in the car park is not a good thing it could damage cars suspension or bumpers I know is keeping the boy racing out just get barriers like Tesco

We are in harwich and our delivery comes from clacton and I can't rate them higher enough. From the ordering online to the very friendly, helpful delivery drivers are stress free, also the substitutes, which doesn't happen often are very sensible ones . Highly recommended.

As a area Sales manager I often have to visit supermarkets for a stop off Must say Asda Clacton was decent , three cubicals all had toilet roll. Not a bad place for an emergency stop

I often get ASDA delivery but twice now I have had problems with the meat being delivered. 1st time, No steak in the order but they refunded me straight away. Today, steak is BB TODAY and £9 worth of chicken breasts not in the delivery. They refused my online refund request due to " history of refund requests." BASICALLY THEY DONT TRUST ME AND THINK IM STEALING. So I phoned, got through to a human who asked me to send photos of short dated steak and then abruptly ended the call saying, she can do no more and it will go to payments. So now with £17 worth of meat waiting to be refunded, I have to change meal plans OR change my plans and squeeze in a visit to a supermarket to buy replacements. If you don't want me to request a refund a)give me my food I've paid for b) don't short date it. As both times it's been the most expensive meat I'd check the staff if you're going to pass blame. Or check the pressure you put on them to pack orders. I guess I now have to keep the driver waiting whilst I tick everything off my list, 1 by 1, and check dates of everything. Sorry Asda, I guess your driver will be late to his next delivery in future as I often get my monthly shop delivered, it's a hefty order OR I'll go somewhere else for my groceries.

I hated in there. Sooooooo slow everything

We come to shop at Asda usually twice a week and always have a coffee and something to eat, but recently the café has been overtaken with special needs people, they take up most of the seating in the cafe and don't buy a thing from the café, they shout and scream most of the time and to be honest it's become so dreadful to try and sit there having to listen to all what's going on, whilst I feel for these people and feel very sorry for their situation, I don't see why I should have to sit there to see and listen to it, most ordinary people just get up and walk out like I did today, the noise is deafening, and they all sit there just shouting and screaming and one in particular just sits there and literally chokes himself, as I said there are about twenty of them taking up all the seating and not one of them buys anything from the café, we will not be going back there until this situation is sorted out, we go there for a quiet coffee and something to eat but it's become unbearable to sit there amongst these special needs people, I never complain about anything but this has just got out of control, the people who bring them in don't even try to control them, sorry but it's just out of order to have to sit amongst them.

Friendly helpful staff .Lots of choice on nenu any time. I would definitely recommend the mini breakfast lots if nice flavours and really hot toast was lovely too

This is my weekly store for shopping, however I may change my mind after this morning. Almost every other shelf empty, dirty or messy. So much not in stick, it is as though they have not had a delivery or clean for days. May have to change to Tesco

To the lovely lady who served me and the kind store supervisor who came to check if I was ok. I would like to thank you both. I am well and fine now and your kindness, no matter how small helped alot. I would say every little helps but I would hate to get you both in trouble 😄

I used to have a positive thoughts about this store. But recently with the manager lying to me I have a totally negative view of the store The other staff are always lovely but this manager set an extremely poor example to the staff and Asdas reputation.

Went shopping at Clacton-on-Sea Asda today (23/12/23) for Christmas & Boxing Day dinners with all the trimmings. Couldn't believe my experience, it was absolutely amazing, Got everything on the list and more, The shop looked fantastic, The staff was brilliant, working hard, helping customers and staying cheerful, especially the lady's stocking up on the fruit & veg and frozen aisles. WELL DONE ASDA OF CLACTON-ON-SEA & Thank you to all the staff and management. You all run a great shop, especially the way you treat your customers. You've made my Christmas! 😊

Fantastic friendly service and helpful

A shop that I come quite often however Extremely rude worker. They take bakery articles that are already put in our trolley and respond to their behavior by saying that it's for themselves. It's extremely disgusting to put their hands and take articles that the customers has already take .

Decent shop and queues not too long

Just been to asda and the lady on the pizza counter would not make a pizza for my daughter and was rude ,very poor customer service. Her reply when asked was no I'm doing home shopping

Had an Asda shopping delivery to Valley Farm holiday resort on Monday 9th October in the evening. The delivery driver was excellent. He couldn't of been more helpful. Thank you.

This is a decent Asda for your weekly shop. Cafe is great too, good value and kids eat for £1 (under 16 year olds)

Friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately there always seems to be a stock shortage here and we end up having to finish our shopping elsewhere.

Great for shopping and parking also has a petrol station (self service) the only problem was a lot of the shelves were empty so didn't get all we needed lucky tesco is close so got the rest there

This place is a joke , this was our 2nd visit 1st visit we arrived just before 5pm was told they was shut , 2nd visit there was no trays the place was dirty only 1 staff serving at lunch time half the menu wasn't available the other staff was rude. Never going there again .

We usually pop in the cafe at least twice a week for a drink and sometimes food. The coffee is good but the soft drink machine is awful. Often it is flat tastes of nothing and you can see the soda water coming into the cup. This means they have turned the syrup down far too low. Is this a money saving idea I wonder to myself? I now buy a bottle of soft drink as this has happened too many times. When we have had food it was OK but hard to mess up double egg on toast to be fair. Young man at till needs serious customer training I asked originally for beans on toast. His response "we ain't got any beans" charming response to a customer. Maybe I'm sorry we have no beans might be more appropriate response possibly. Need to up your game. Lots of cafes doing much better.

Arrived at 10.30 and ordered a breakfast to be told they had run out of beans, its a supermarket for god sake go get more, picked up cutlery and was dirty and disgusting don't bother eating there worst place ever.

The food is what you would expect for a supermarket cafe, but what makes us come back every time is the staff - especially a lovely girl, unsure of her name, but she is alternative looking with piercings in her cheeks. She always makes the effort to speak to us and my son calls her 'our new friend', she talks to him about Pokémon and remembers us every time. She makes us feel special and valued, and my son always looks forward to seeing her when we go into the café. Couldn't fault her customer service, even when it's busy she makes time to be pleasant and chatty. What an asset to the team!

This place has gone downhill badly..they had hardly anything on the menu and what did have was disgusting...STAY AWAY!!

I parked up, and I went in, bought what I went in there for, paid for it, and left. Good chat with a friend from school, way back in the mid 1970's, on the way out. Good to see & hear from old aquantencies.

Dean, who works on the click and collect, is absolutely superb. Always friendly and helpful. He went back in the shop to find an alternative bottle of wine that was “unavailable” as part of the meal deal. Hold onto him!

Quick shop, but purchased all I needed.

Okay, plants look a little jaded. Clean and tidy store. Needs to upgrade electric car chargers to higher wattage.

Came in at 11:15 for light breakfast, ordered their fruit toast, was told 'none in stock' so went for bacon bap, asked for butter alternative, 'we do not have an alternative, only butter 'I was told. Why ask about allergies/ intolerance if you do not offer a dairy free spread? Not like they do not sell these items in the main shop area. Disappointing will not be returning again, shame as this is local to where we are staying.

Big shop and has most stuff you could want. It can get very busy though sometimes Lidl can be a lot quiter if you prefure not around as many people.

We went to have a bite to eat and a drink in the cafe at 4.10 thurs 20/5 , knowing it didn’t close until 5.30. All we wanted were simple toasted sandwiches but there weren’t any available and there was nothing on menu either!! The only items available were cakes and kids packed lunches. We stayed for a hot choc which was barely hot and the lady that served us just wasn’t paying attention at all. We will definitely think twice before going back there !!

The shop is OK, but the one way system is ignored by customers and staff, and there was certainly no enforcement by staff. It was very busy when I went, and didn't feel particularly COVID secure. The selection of items is good, but found the clothes disappointing. I was impressed with the selection of DVDs, books and magazines. Also their seasonal selection was good. The cafe is lovely and very reasonably priced. The cafe staff are very friendly and chatty. It's a shame that not all staff are like that. The staff member on the self-service was quite offhand and borderline rude on my latest visit, though with how busy it was there, they had probably had enough for the day! I will visit again, but will use one of the tills rather than the self-service.

Click and collect is in a silly place by tills. So when you're waiting for click and collect u contend w those coming out from tills, it can bottle neck when it's peak times. Not very Covid safe given social distances are virtually impossible at the place they expect u to wait. Why not relocate it to the cafe area or close by so that at least when u have to wait half an hour for parcel to arrive, u can be out of the way? And when cafe reopens u might get more coffee sales from those waiting.

Too many people midday and no social distancing stick to home delivery much safer

Just want to say that since I’ve been having to shield I’ve had to rely on home delivery for shopping and am more than happy with the service from this store, rarely get substitutes that are not better than what I’ve ordered, only once has something been out of stock and no substitute available and only twice has the substitute not been suitable for us as a family but refunds are done very quickly, Cant praise the delivery drivers enough, always polite and friendly and very helpful, even in horrible weather conditions sometimes, haven’t been inside this store since it first opened because not really local to me but cannot fault their home delivery service, 5 stars xx

Great place to get all the food shop you need

Really great customer service from Alan at the Customer Services counter and the click and collect team this afternoon when I was struggling with updating the app.. helped me collect a parcel and always great interaction in store.

Clean open space plenty of choices,helpful and friendly staff, good selection of products, nice cafe with tasty food, plenty of parking cash points available and pick up point well worth a visit if you're in the area

Avoid please, i done click and collect. Terrible service, rude staff, over charged on goods that i didnt recieve. I am still waiting on a refund that they said at time of collection that i would get within 5 days. Strange its been 7 days now and head office are saying they will look into it monday. Luckily i got the name of the girl when i collected my shopping as i didnt trust what she was saying as she clearly didnt have a clue but took her at word, mistake. Very annoying as feel they stole off me

You are always able to find a member of staff to assist you if you can’t find something. A pleasure to shop there just for that reason. Very happy people on check out too. Nobody wants to be served by miserable people. Well done

Just like my local asda minus my favourite staff members, LOL. Got all my bits needed just a stones throw away from our lodgings & my parents home, so i could nip out and get a few bits without getting lost & as its got everything i need, want & know like my local asda's I got it all and then some. Halloumi chesse galore.

We went to the Cafe this morning at 9am, a very quite time. and to say we wete disappointed would be an understatement. My wife had egg on toast, one egg was broken and the other was rock hard. They would have seen this as they dished it onto the very thin bread. I had a bacon bap which came in a child's bread roll, bacon was dry. And the cost of a latte was more than in Costa. Easy to park staff very helpful

Although the shop is good there is one issue, for people who want things that are restricted for over 15, the staff get very careful about it and make people who are clearly older not have what they want, I once saw a women with kids get told they weren’t allowed an energy drink.

Took my children here for tea and cake whilst shopping but as lunchtime decided to buy meals for them. 1 person serving so slow service, which is ok. My daughter took 1 mouthful of the sauce I don’t think there was any meat she didn’t like it, I tried it -not very nice at all. It’s her favourite meal and she’s not a fussy eater. A waitress saw me taking it to the til I told her my daughter didn’t like it. She said I’ll speak to staff as should be able to change it - which she did as I could see eyes being directed at me I waited by the til as told as someone was going to come back to me. 5 mins I was ignored I joined the line and after 15 mins explained to the lady who originally served me that I wanted to change the food as my daughter didn’t like it. She said there’s nothing she can do no manager and nothing wrong with food. I offered for her to try it. I never asked for a refund or free food just to change it. In that 15mins I left my 3&5 year olds alone at the table out of my obvious sight. My coffee went cold and only 1 child ate food. Very poor customer service no personal skills and clearly need a manager. I’m sure a plate of food could have been offered and I would have paid £3. It’s my second time of eating in an Asda store the first being 9 1/2 months pregnant and told I couldn’t sit at a table alone as they were busy. Colchester and Clacton I suspect you were taught at the same school of manners?

Read the reviews, was concerned but was nearby so went for breakfast, 11/09/19 had the full English, service was welcoming, placed my order took a seat in the restaurant area, a short while later my breakfast was brought to me, very polite and pleasant servvice, the breakfast was well presented, only fault was the knives are hard to cut with, may be fine to butter with but not to cut food, will definitely return,

Went into asda store in clacton and bought school uniform for my daughter. Staff were very helpful. Sorting out sizes i needed and also gave me bar code for polo shirts to order online. Collecting poloshirts from my local store in hoddesdon

Nice big store.plenty off parking.there is a bus that goes there,but ideally you would be better off with a car.

I got denied a purdy's vitamin drink because I didn't have ID when it isn't an energem drink or has any caffeine in just natural vitamins and I am 21 the place discriminates people of colour

We have eaten here before and it's been ok. Today we decided on an all day breakfast. This was ordered and the staff member said do you mean brunch? No, the menu says all day breakfast - same thing she said. The menu offers a choice of fried, poached or scrambled eggs so I asked for poached. No, we don't do that she said, haven't done for months! What's the point of the menu? So we went with fried. The meals arrived quite quickly, the eggs and chips were fresh but that was it. Sausage, bacon and beans were pre cooked and reheated. Therefore the bacon was hard, the beans were stodgy and the sausages absolutely disgusting. We both left them. If they contained any meat it certainly wasn't meat flavour. While not really expensive, for £5 it was the worst I've had. You can get a better breakfast in town for less.

First time I have not been impressed. At checkout and jo was quite happy to chat away to her colleague while serving me. I was ignored and lucky to get right change.

It's so clean an tidy ,all the staff are friendly and the prices are great. The restaurant is good for a quick bite to eat. Excellent service. Parking is good ,also if you need to fill up,there's a Petrol station, you have to use a Debit card on the petrol station. Keep up the excellent work . Love & Huggs. Jacqui

We shop in Asda every week....But I find the bakery staff not very helpful...they never say thank you & never smile...& don't want to serve you..

My local shop. Great to see standards have been so well maintained following the grand opening. We used the collection service for first time recently and didn't really know what to do so a Car Park Attendant came over to help. Great store, well managed.

Popped in for a cup of tea and a bacon roll I ended up throwing the bacon in the bin it was tasteless.I then visited the lady’s toilets and two were blocked, they obviously hadn’t been checked. Don’t think I will be ordering a bacon roll any time soon.

The shop itself is fine. The restaurant food however is not. Ordered 2 cheese and onion toasted sandwiches. The cheese was processed and no sign of an't only we had one bite and left them. Waste of £6 and the coffee was cold. Will MOT be going there again . Very disappointing.

Nicely laid out and presentable. We ordered lunch and were even asked which choice of peas we would like.Waiting a long time for lunch we noticed how few staff were on. When the lunch finally arrived (2 fish&chips and a vegetable lasagne) they all looked good on the plates. Both fish turned out to be over cooked batter with hardly any fish left inside. The chips looked well cooked but turned out to be soft and soggy. The vegetable lasagne was a very small portion. Oh and the peas never arrived.Overall not enough staff to cope. Kitchen staff (if there were any) had little or no experience. Customers following us were told they were running out of food and before we left they ran out of chips. Not blaming staff who looked totally unsupported by Asda. A disgrace.

Excellent shopping with enough variety of products to suit your needs and good value.

Bad service due to cutting of staff .Also watch out for special offers . As we were charged original price on 2 items and not the discounted price . Looking at other customers in the c/s queue they were too .

A refreshing change from the 'others' a perfect size store in a good location, staff are very helpful and friendly, as for the prices well they are still unbeatable for the vast majority of things.
