The Three Kings has been decorated and looks very nice. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, could not fault the service. Meal was nice - I have prawn cocktail which was excellent for a starter, however my main gammon, although acceptable, did not come out with any pineapple (perhaps it was because I asked for no egg and it was presumed I did not want the pineapple either?), plenty of fries. Overall a nice meal.

Staff were friendly enough, service was prompt, however I got a paltry amount of chips to compliment my "chicken" burger....no salad or owt. The meat was actually beef, which wouldn't have been an issue in itself, but the accompanying roll and 'toppings' were for a chicken burger, so I had mayo & lettuce on my beefburger. Not great, not even sure how that went so wrong and wasn't picked up by anyone. Photo shows the combination received, and the largely empty plate, can only imagine the focus was on the brioche branding.

Well, where should I begin? Upon arriving at the car park, I was greeted with stunning views, which made a great first impression. However, upon entering the hotel, I noticed that the restaurant was extremely busy, and it appeared that there were limited staff members available. Our initial interaction with the staff was not particularly welcoming, as we were told to wait outside for 20 minutes before being checked in due to the high volume of guests. Personally, I believe that this is not an ideal way to greet guests upon their arrival at a hotel. Despite waiting patiently for the specified time, unfortunately, no one came to assist us. As a result, I waited an additional 15 minutes at the reception before finally being able to check in. After a lengthy wait of 35 minutes for the check-in process, we were shown to our room. It appeared that the room was in urgent need of renovation and investment. The decor was extremely outdated and basic. One point to note is that the main road nearby, which seems to be mistaken for a racetrack by many drivers, experiences constant traffic even in the early hours of the morning. The noise level is comparable to sleeping next to a racetrack or a motorway. Evening meal. We had a reservation for a table at 6 pm, but the staff informed us that 7:30 pm would be more suitable for them. We understood that they might have had a lot of reservations for the evening. However, when we went downstairs at 6 pm, the restaurant was empty, and it remained so even at 7 pm. For breakfast, the options are limited to English breakfast, vegetarian options, or cereals. Similarly, the hot drink choices are limited to tea or coffee. The quality of the breakfast was satisfactory, but it could be improved. Additionally, there was only one staff member handling all aspects of the breakfast service, including taking orders, cooking, working the bar, bringing out food, and managing the reception for booking out. While this individual did an admirable job, it is evident that they require assistance, as the workload is excessive for a single person, let alone two. Conclusion. If you are seeking a one-night stay at a basic accommodation, the Millstone Inn may suffice. However, I must admit that it is a marginal choice, and I would not recommend an extended stay. The hotel rooms are in urgent need of not only a thorough deep cleaning but also significant investment to bring them up to an acceptable standard. While the staff is friendly and hardworking, they would benefit from additional training to enhance their efficiency and effectiveness, especially during periods of staffing shortages. Regrettably, I cannot recommend the Millstone Inn for future stays. Despite its charming location, the overall condition of the hotel requires significant improvement.

I have been dining at the Golf Club carvery over a number of years and have always enjoyed it. However I booked a table for two for Sunday lunch expecting the usual carvery but when we arrived the carvery serving layout was bare and I was told that meals were now portioned by the kitchen staff which was not why I was there. I have to admit the meal (roast beef) was OK but nowhere near as enjoyable as the carvery. The other gripe I have is that the beer (Pedigree) was cloudy. Judging by the very few diners there when w left at about 1:30 pm, the regulars are not too keen on the new arrangement either. It is a pity because I have always come away from the Golf Club in a good frame of mind, but now ........

We visited twice whilst on Holiday to watch the Play Off for League two, found the service to be excellent along with the food, the Chicken and Bacon Panini were really nice and very reasonably priced. We are back in August and will definitely visit again.

We visited on a lovely sunny early November late morning. The coffee shop is in an excellent location, opposite a car park -£2 for the day in winter and only c 70 yards from the sea. It is well appointed with plenty of tables and we had a nice window one looking out to the town. We just had a coffee and cake, both of which were very good. The lady suggested we had a half shot latte as we don't like it strong and she even came to check that it was ok which it certainly was. The sandwiches looked good and the food and drinks were very competitively priced. I am amazed at some previous, what I would call nasty reviews. It seems popular with the locals with a nice ambience and we couldn't fault it - we will certainly be back.

I went in here today with friends for lunch myself and one of my friends had a roast lamb dinner but the roast lamb wasn't roast lamb, it was lamb chops instead which were tough and fatty, myself and another one of my friends ordered a milkshake and it appeared to be from the milkshake shop next door. The menu does not state the lamb was lamb chops and that the milkshakes are from the milkshake place next door.

Food was cold, The Sunday lunch considered of one table spoon of potatoe, 2 very over done hollow roast potatoes, a spoon of peas, 2 tiny pieces of carrot, and 1 piece of over cooked broccoli and a cold Yorkshire pudding. The meat was cold on one dinner and the other inedible. When it came to leaving we noticed the food star hygiene label on most of the menus had been covered over. When we asked why, I was told they had lost the rating but wouldn't tell me what the rating was. I'm not surprised with the temperature of the food and the cooked standards. Very disappointed. I wint be returning.

I'm very happy with the update. It's very spacious and nicely decorated. Most importantly there isn't just one vegan option, there are a few. Whatever you do, please don't change that. Could do with soy milk and De caf tea though. Nice little cafe for something to eat while out shopping. Will keep using as long as your vegan menu doesn't change.

I had won a bid at a charity auction of an afternoon tea for two. Bearing in mind the hotel had donated this item and after looking at the online menu for the tea my friend and I were looking forward to the experience. How disappointed we were. Only 4 quarters of white mundane sandwiches, a sausage roll that looked like it was large and cut in half, no quiche and the scone and sliced cake and chocolate square looked like ready made supermarket, not made fresh in the kitchen. No options for tea either tea or coffee, both dumped on the table with tea bag string hanging out. We were about to ask for the coffee and found the pot we thought was hot water for the tea was in fact the coffee. The atmosphere was depressing and the staff stood at the end of the bar chatting. I am afraid I will not be recommending this restaurant for afternoon tea to anyone.

Saltbox Bar for the lauch of Mollis fried chicken kitchen takeover. If you didn't already know, Mollis is known for their ULTIMATE fried chicken on derby road next to Alchemilla by Alex Bond chef Saltbox have teamed up with Mollis for a 3 month kitchen take over in Bolero Square next to the entrance of Motorpoint Arena Nottingham Its available every Friday and Saturday evening from May to July. We chose a couple of chicken burgers. One with Nashville hot oil fried chicken miso ranch, beer pickle, lollo rosso, furikake. The other,Classic southern fried chicken kewpie mayo, pickles, lettuce, cheese sauce. A side of Fries, house seasoning topped with parmesan. Pink fir potato, truffle curd, crispy onions and a roasted garlic mayo sauce. They also serve some amazing chicken wings, either 6 or 12 in two delicous coatings. If you've not managed to make it out of the city to try them before. Theres no excuse now, as you can pop in when you go to a nearby event or you just want some really good chicken in the town. You can even order it to take-away.
