We used to visit every couple of weeks. During the summer we stopped as away. - went today. Still great prices. But today, poor service, the bar server, was unable to serve customers in sequence. The food was poor. The pies crust was rock hard, the cabbage like a week old soggy wallpaper. - nowhere as good as it was earlier this year. A shame as we used to be regulars

I went for lunch with a family member on Saturday 5th October , the food was delicious, beautifully presented, and all the staff were amazing very helpful and friendly, we will definitely be eating there again,

Had such a lovely time with the family last sunday, we ended up staying for food after a walk around darley park! The team sorted us right out and I think his name was Rob, he was brill :) I recommend the burger and a pint of Peroni for the win!

Perfect for the family, reasonable prices and great food! Would recommend trying out The Broadway and will certainly be going back again.

It was very nice to visit a pub and have a gorgeous meal cooked by the chef Camren, very flavorful and plenty of food, the service given by all staff was exceptional. The only criticism I can give would be you need a bigger plate for the mixed grill, we will definitely be returning soon.

I popped in for a drink on 06/06 at 2024 and parked my car in the car park. I had a drink and left at 2115 and drove home. Lo and behold I have now been issued with a penalty charge notice for £100 for parking in the car park. A very expensive pint!!!

I ordered the seabass fillets with king prawns. The prawns were less than 1 cm in diameter!!!??? This was disappointing

An unexpected visit due to the rain calling off play elsewhere. The 7 of were welcomed and seated by the staff even with limited tables (due to reservations prebooked), promptly served with drinks whilst we table orderd food on the app. As soon as the order hit the kitchen cutlery we're out ready and order checked (as we ordered mains and starters but wanted them all together). The food came with a short wait time. Food was lovely, great presentation and service. Checked upon a couple of times during and after the meal. Staff beyond brilliant. Beautiful place, great atmosphere and dog friendly area too. We will be returning. Next time I'll bring puggy pup to. Thanks to all.

Myself and my friend are regular visitors to this pub and have always enjoyed the food, but yesterday we both ordered Lasagna. First of all we said could we have an extra slice of Garlic Bread instead of Salad. I was told no by the so called Chef. But someone else came from the kitchen and said we could swop. When our lasagna came out my friends looked fine. Mine was charred to a cinder and welded to the dish. Garlic bread cold and soggy. When I complained I was told they would swap it and it would take 7 minutes. (Very precise) After waiting for around 15 minutes I did ask where my food was. And it was brought out straight away. The food was very mediocre and bland. I did complain to the Manager who did offer me a refund which I did accept. He then said I had complained the week before about a steak. WHICH IS CERTAINLY NOT TRUE as I don’t order Steak in restaurants . But it seemed to me he was getting at me for daring to complain. Since they have a new menu the quality of food has deteriorated. And quite a few of people who are regulars have said the same. Inferior produce and inflated prices is NOT acceptable. Chips with black skins and eyes in tasteless food seem to be the norm here now. Such a shame it used to be a good place. Will not be eating here again in a hurry , after years of faithful participation. Seems they don’t care about good customers anymore. And feel the manager should deal with complaints in a better manner. Not being sarcastic And trying to make people feel guilty for daring to complain

Both food and service were excellent. New menu offered plenty of of choice and very reasonably priced Definitely worth a visit

Been here so many times over the years - last time we visited the meal was barely warm but thought it was a one off. Today came back and the dining area was very quiet did not have to wait long for the meal but once again it was nearly cold / not cooked as ordered and the steak was full of fat. The staff are lovely, the eating area is lovely, the toilets are fabulous but and it is a big but the food is below par and we may not visit again.,

Visited here a few times now and the food and service is always bang on. The team are always lovely and so efficient. The pub it’s self is always so Clean and very well presented. We have hunters chicken and rump steak, both cooked beautifully priced so well

Absolutely gutted to receive a PARKING CHARGE NOTICE for ONE HUNDRED POUNDS, a couple of weeks after attending this pub for a family get together after a funeral at Markeaton Crematorium. It feels as though the management has acted really sneakily. I didn't see any warning signs about paying for parking & to be honest, wouldn't have looked for any, as if I am giving a pub my custom, it's usual for the parking to be free. I was feeling quite upset after the funeral, so even less likely to have noticed. (If they are worried about students using the car park, then why not just ask customers to give their car registration numbers at the bar? Or even just have staff mention it?) In fairness, the establishment did put on rather a nice spread, but this has really soured my memories of that day.

Went for sunday lunch with family, food was fantastic and staff were very friendly and helpful, even going so far as to assist my elderly father with inputting car details for parking.

We went with the intention of chilling out. But having to argue with the staff over additional nacho cheese sauce (having already been charged for the privilege), seems a tad unfair.

First time I've been to the 'pub' or should I say 'money making scammer', two weeks later a £100 parking fine!!! Gee, I'm going yo recommend this to all my friends, I don't think so! Some incentive to go and have a quite relaxing Sunday night drink! Outrageous, no signs that I could see advising there was a charge, probably because most people would turn round and go elsewhere, or any notification from the staff that there would be a charge! Poor service and customer care in my book. Deffo will never visit again!

This is supposed to be a pub but arrived at 1:30 to find every table reserved or in use. About 5 tables were reserved for 2pm or 2:30pm meaning they sit empty and we could not sit there. They should keep a decent number of tables unreserved.

We met with friends at the Broadway earlier this month for a meal and a few drinks, all of which we have proof of receipt, however like others our custom has been rewarded with a fine for parking ?? where does the restaurant expect us to park if not in their private car park? I want the owners to put this right, especially if they want to see us and our group of friends ever again !

I’ve Been in derby for a couple of days now been to the Hollybrook had a great experience then day after came here as they are the same chain and reasonably priced food. wasn’t that great. staff playing on phones whilst on shift was stood at the bar for at least 7 minutes before I was seen to. Visited many times but this was the best yet - had two Sirloin Steaks with Peppercorn Sauce (creatures of habit 🙄) however this time the steaks were perfect - no gristle /piping hot/cooked perfectly could not fault. Service excellent from young dark haired girl who was very attentive and polite. Bar staff were also first class. Had reserved a table which was just as well as it was very busy.

Why are tables not cleared as soon as customers are finished and have left so they are ready for the next people and have we beat Covid, no cleaning of tables? Service for drinks is quick, service for food on the other hand is slow, I do not normally comment on food so when my dinner arrived it looked okay but on cutting into my Chicken, Smoked Bacon, Leek & Cheddar Pie I could not taste/find any Smoked Bacon or Leek, what a disappointment. Not sure where to start with this one! After a 2 hour wait the mediocre food arrived ... obviously it had been sat waiting as it was all dry, over cooked and Luke warm... mixed grill dry overcooked .. rump steak inedible ... chicken breast missing ... rubbery eggs ... the hunters chicken was missing the bacon and all dry and overdone ... the burger was missing onion rings and dry ... we felt sorry for the servers as this is clearly a kitchen issue ... they were quick to not charge for the food however I would of preferred a decent meal and that’s 3 hours I’ll never get back !

Visited the Broadway on many occasions, and decided to pop in with the parents yesterday. Had a fantastic meal, the sea bass fillets were cooked to perfection, and very healthy served with asparagus, avocado and new potatoes. The management team and staff seem more professional and friendly, and the pub seems cleaner and more relaxing than on previous visits. Recently visited just me and my partner for the first time and it’s safe to say unfortunately we won’t be returning. We liked the variety of the menu however the food wasn’t executed well at all. The steak was over cooked and 50% fat/ gristle, the prawn topper was over cooked and chewy - basically inedible. And the burger I ordered came looking like it had been thrown across the kitchen. We were sat very close to the bar and despite our warm welcome we weren’t even asked how our food was. A young slim gentleman swooped in took our starter plates away, came back 15 minutes later with the mains, when you could quite clearly see both our plates had a lot of food remaining he didn’tQuestion it and simply Asked ‘do you want the bill?’ When he swooped In once more to take the mains away.

It's a long time since I've been to The Broadway and on this experience it is back to being a well run establishment. It took an attractive "half price mains" offer to tempt me back in after some dreadful visits in the past. The Covid-19 measures were totally reassuring. The food was faultless, the real ale was well kept and the staff were friendly, attentive and professional. Importantly regarding Coronavirus, I felt as safe as possible. On this evidence I will certainly return.

The food was absolutely what you’d expect for a chain pub. No airs or graces. Decent offers if you wanted to take advantage of them. A pleasant atmosphere. Nothing remarkable, but nothing to complain about. If you want a quick meal in a chain pub, it’s as you’d expect.

First time eating out since lockdown was lifted and was pleasantly surprised by the food, service and social distancing measures in place. We had a safe relaxed meal and the dogs enjoyed being outside too (dogs can only be outside). Inside there was plenty of room to enable safe dining and everything seemed clean and well organised.

Popped in for drinks after months away. Social distancing good etc. But the man who was collecting outside had no mask etc and a miserable attitude. A smile costs nothing.

Have not been for a while as have been disappointed before. However, my friend suggested we went as she has been quite a few times more recently. Lunch was very nice and they were very accommodating for my friend's little girl. Lots of choice food wise - have a very reasonably priced set menu with mains for £6.

The Broadway is a solid, stylish traditional pub & restaurant a little outside of Derby (Duffield) which may provide a good stop on a pub crawl between Derby and Belper - the building is nice, the staff are nice, and the interior is nice. There's a range of real ales available on hand pumps, but, truth be told, it won't blow your mind. The Broadway seems to be more of a family-friendly place for lunch or dinner, providing solid pub food. As such, it's recommendable. The buses from Derby stop right outside.

Three of us met for a post-Christmas meal.Glad we had booked as the place was very busy.Bar service was a bit slow but once we were seated the waiters were excellent.I had a very good (and very filling) mixed grill - rest of my party were very happy with their food.Decent atmosphere added to our enjoyment.Think a dog friendly area should be added (we would certainly be more inclined to visit).

Called in to meet friends and chose from the fixed price menu. All the meals were very good and would certainly return. Think there has been a change of chef since we visited some time ago as the standard was certainly better.

My 84 year old mother regularly visits to have lunch with friends but due to their new car parking policy she and her friends have each been fined £50 for using the car park whilst having lunch there because they didn't see the inadequate signs that they had to give the bar staff their car registration. Why didn't the staff ask for the registration numbers?They will not be going there again.

Booked a family party here. Booking was easy and we didnt have to confirm numbers until a couple days before,which was brilliant. We paid a deposit on booking and the final bill afterwards.The Area was screened off from the rest of the pub creating a cosy ambience. It was easy access for anyone with mobility issues as no steps.The buffet itself beat any expectations. There was plenty and the variety was great .. The food was not brought out until we were ready and the hot food was freshly cooked. Can't rate it highly enough. Thank you

Do you want to feel the sensation of having a darned good feed without emptying your wallet (or overtaking the cash limit in your credit card!). Fear not . . . The Broadway is the way to go. It has a "broad" area of seating with plenty of outdoor seating available during the hot weather and welcomes dogs!! It even supplies little doggie bows to quench their tirst whilst you are quenching yours. With an ample car park you will normally find no problem - but look out for special local events and weekend because, this is a popular venue. Although I find that the price of drinks is a bit top side, the Sunday tmeal deal is well worth taking up. Finally, do try and leave the car park via the "Broadway road" enrance / exit and not by the main Duffield Road entrance / exit which opens onto a blind corner.

When your starving and dying of thirst you need somewhere to go, my Dad mentioned this pub so he drove us there. Really nice outside and inside. Got served straight away, my fussy boyfriend had to make a dig at the fact they had no Cola cause he hates Pepsi, so he had an Orangina, I had a Pepsi and my Dad a beer. Sat in the window, nice clean table with lots of menus to choose from and waahey they do Vegan choices to! We both had the Moving Mountains Burger and my Dad just a normal Burger. Below the Burger part on the menu it states to add seasoned chips for a pound, well the lady (oldish with glasses) was certain it didn't say that and charged us £2.50 extra each for seasoned chips. We just did it cause we were hungry. She said the food would be about 30 minute wait as it was busy but that fine at least they let us know. 20 minutes later we had food, and I swear that was the best vegan burger I have ever tasted! Lovely roll it was with aswell. Finished our plates off. Chips were rather nice, good job aswell as we were charged more! Shall be back!

Typical Ember Inn, you are never going to get haute cuisine in one of their establishments, this visit was everything I expected it to be.

We came to the pub with our family and friend to celebrate my daughter’a first birthday (we planned to go to the park but weather prevented us). The staff at the pub were very kind and hospitable. They lit the candle on the cake and were accepting of our large group of people including my daughter who liked to crawl on the floor. Anyway, wanted to thank the staff who made our stay at the pub relaxing and were very welcoming xx

This is our local and we count ourselves lucky - great value, good food and within walking distance. Although part of a chain, it's still a proper local. It does get very busy at early evenings when food can take longer to arrive, but if you avoid those times then service is good and quick

Pleasant venue. Plenty of seating inside & outside. Standard 'quick' pub food choice. Quick and polite service. I won't eat here again. For me, only suitable for drinks.

We spent last Saturday evening having a few casual drinks in the Broadway, which was surprisingly quiet for a weekend. At closing time we discovered the front doors were locked - presumably to discourage latecomers, and had felt ejected through the back door. Sullen staff just ignored us, completely useless Customer engagement, we clearly felt like an inconvenience.

Nice pub with a standard pub food choice, most people will find a meal to suit their taste. Service was very polite and quick. The value and food presentation was good, a wide variety of ales and beers was available. Will i come and eat here again? Yes i would.

Stopped here with my partner and child for something quick to eat and very quick it was. Food was served promptly and looked lovely. Unfortunately that’s where it stopped. We had a slightly “wonky” table and my partners dinner slid straight of!! We asked the waiting staff for assistance and asked if there would be a replacement to which we were told no!!! I almost asked if they would prefer my partner to eat it from the floor. Absolutely fuming and will not waste my money here again. Other than that. Looks a nice place

16.45 on a Sunday, family of six, one course each and at least a 35 minute wait for the food to arrive. In the chicken, bacon and avocado salad the avocado was so ‘mushy ‘ that it was inedible. No apologies for the long wait, will a long time before we visit. And this was the pub which nine and a half years ago refused entry to my 3 day old granddaughter!!

I met my Dad here for lunch recently. It was my first visit and i'd have no issues with going again. The staff were friendly and everywhere was clean and tidy.

My meat and veg was cold and the chips undercooked. My husband’s meal appeared to have beeen microwaved to within an inch of its life ! Would have pointed this out at the time but nobody bothered to ask. Was hoping to like the Broadway as it’s close to home - sadly not the case so won’t be returning.

Decided on trying this pub for food and must say it was worth the visit.

We visited the Broadway at the weekend, looking forward to the widely advertised craft ale festival, expecting there to be a reasonable choice of beers. How wrong we were, just the usual Ember ale, Doom Bore a Red beer whichI was warned was poor and fortunately London Pride. So it was an evening of London Pride. The staff showed us all the pump labels in a bag under the bar for the beers that hadn’t been delivered. Shambolic.

Visited on a Friday early evening with relatives who live locally.First time for us.Very busy.Took a long time to get served with drinks.Also after ordering our foodwe had a long wait.Had to go round other tables as not enough cutlery and napkins.Food was disappointing.We had pie and hardly any meat inside.

The pub was fairly busy and we were told there would be a delay in food service but rather than drive elsewhere we decided to wait. It was an hour before our food arrived which was unacceptable although the food was piping hot when it eventually arrived. It was supposed to be a quick local lunch but we ended up clock watching and having to rush when the food did arrive. We had no time for coffee or dessert. Overall it was disappointing.

During a Xmas walk in nearby Darley Park, we stopped for a drink and weren't disappointed, quick service by pleasant staff, room to sit and chat with a drink in a good atmosphere, well worth a pint.

Visited this pub/restaurant whilst staying in the coach house hotel nearby. Warm, welcoming with lovely open fires throughout. The food was lovely and came out very hot. Good offers on set menu's. Live music which was enjoyable. I would certainly visit again

Went last Friday for a family meal. Arrived around 7pm and the place was reasonably busy. We had pre-booked a table and was shown to it by a very pleasant young man. The menu was pretty standard to this type of chain pub so we decided our meals quickly and headed to the bar.

Hubby travels past here on his way too and from work and said it looked nice so we thought we would give it a try.

This pub is large and has a good selection of beers, wines, and other drinks. The food, however, is poor and that’s a shame given the overall nature of the pub.
