A splendid JDW. Worth a visit for the ceiling alone! Amazing choice of beers. Very efficient and professional staff who despite it being busy, still find the time to be pleasant and helpful. As the designated driver I was given a full run down of zero alcohol drinks available. Would definitely recommend and return.

The food is always cold - at best tepid. The barstaff are always rude. Ths collection trolley is always in the room with smelly leftover food and dirty plates for all to see. Would it be so hard to bring the collection trolley round - fill it up and take if back into the kitchen and unload and leave it there. It's not rocket science it make the room comfortable for customers but obviously the staff don't give a damn.

Very disappointed with standing order, we were a party of four with one needed to have a Gluten free lunch, however after looking at the lunch menu we couldn't see any gluten free meals so we approach the staff at the bar and was informed that they do do Gluten free meals but are not allowed to advertised the GF symbol on menu!! So When I asked what meals that is gluten free they still wouldn't tell me, When I mentioned that it is a legal requirement to mentioned on menu any allergy meals otherwise they could be sued if anybody ordered anything that didn't suit them!!! The staff are unbelievable I don't think they realise the gravity of the situation!! Beware people don't go if you have an food allergy!! Anyway went opposite to slug and lettuce and they accommodated us with the right food!!

Might be cheap but manners are free and the staff in last night around 1745 were downright rude.. The chap next to me gave up waiting and left. I went was at one end and went down to the other end and asked if anyone was going to serve and was told that they were on their own. When another young lady started serving she served the people at the other end of the bar as well. I asked again and was told I’d get served when it was my turn. It was my turn over 10minut3s ago. Eventually got served about 5 minutes later. Just to compound things when I went to get another round the person who served me waited until I was at the bar and just turned away. We left without ordering and won’t be back.

Great food and drinks at a reasonable price. Friendly staff and large seating areas. We went after another pub nearby and the bar bill was half the price. The food was great which included a drink which is great value for money. The Standing Order is a JD Wetherspoon pub located at 28-32 Iron Gate, Derby, DE1 3GL. It offers a variety of real ales, craft beers, and freshly ground Lavazza coffee. The pub serves breakfast until noon and the full food menu is available until 11 pm. This venue, which was once the Crompton & Evans Union Bank and later a NatWest branch, has a rich history and now provides a welcoming atmosphere for its patrons.

We asked where it was got told we received and that we were stealing, told them to check there cameras and that where are glasses then, I eventually had to go to the bar & I asked to speak a manager and the lady who I think is the manger laughed in my face and said what are you going to do? I would like to take this further with the company.

So I had a traditional breakfast, I didn’t realise this is now £5, and was really disappointed. Egg was burnt on the bottom, sausage overcooked, toast limp and L lukewarm, beans, bacon and hash browns were ok. It just felt like it had been sat on the side for a while and then sent out when someone ordered one. A real shame as I had a nice one at The Babbington Arms last week, and it was £3.69.

The Sticky Korean fried chicken bowl at Derby was disappointing compared to the wheatsheaf Cheadle staffs and the briar rose Birmingham. The dish lacked the sticky sauce, making it dry. Well the events and delivery tonight were dreadful the poorest visit since I’ve been going. Bar staff limited to three serving! Serving Abbott Ale served and so cloudy rejected, Doom Bar was rejected on the same basis. Was offered Darnell’s xyz which took ages to remotely clear. Somewhere there was a 6/10 pint of Pedigree. The double American burger and chips!! The chips were 6/10 the bun 4/10, the burgers 6/10! The filling looked like it had been scooped up from ???? If the regional manager/inspector had been there they’d have been distraught at tonight’s performance and delivery. Forgot tell to say the bar need to be taught to smile and id they do t want to, they are in the wrong job.

Both American burgers were enough to fill a 3 year old… absolutely tiny, and again frozen chips. the mixed grill was beyond not what we orderd… gammon was rock solid… steak was well done, chewy and burnt. pork loin was pink all the way thru and even the sausages were under cooked… and again with a side of frozen chips. £52 for all including 4 soft drinks… absolute waste of money. Had the misfortune to eat here, whilst I appreciate its cheap it was horrible. I had ham egg and chips, the eggs were cold and the ham was of the plastic variety to be fair the chips weren’t too bad. I tried ordering through the app but couldn’t get it working properly and timed out when I tried to make payment ended up ordering at the bar. On the plus side the drinks weren’t bad. What a fantastic old building, a lovely place to sit and eat. Busy on a Wednesday, but we managed to find a table. Staff all excellent, with a real buzz. I think she was the duty manager, Becker/Beckie, was really under the cosh, but kept her cool and was super in service. Unfortunately, I'd have to say that she wasn't given the resources to do the job properly. Only one side of the bar was open for orders, so there's an unacceptable wait time to order. Our food did arrive quickly though, well done. Portion sizes at Wetherspoons are ok if your 10 years old, but the quality is very mixed. Standard burger very disappointing, patties made of cold cardboard. No Pedigree available, boo, but Ruddles still on for less than £2, incredible. So, pretty much a typical 'spoons.
