Such a fantastic and worthy project to save food otherwise destined for the bins. A huge variety of tasty meals, vegetables and fruit served by very friendly volunteers. Highly recommended.

Had a tuna baguette made freshly to order. A-MA-ZING! Nice cozy little shop. Friendly staff. Good prices and a large variety of yummy treats and snacks! You must also try their curly wurly brownie! Will be definitely coming back to try some flatbreads very soon!

Called in for a sandwich and they were just closing up, said no problem and they allowed Millie our little Westie in too. Brought her some water and chicken which was very kind and served us our baguettes and drinks, which were delicious. No rush to close up, really good service, thank you.

There’s an argument that you shouldn’t recommend good place as next time you come there are no free tables. Saying that the bacon sandwich was the best I have had in a long time and the pancakes fresh and cooked to perfection. We’ll be back!

We visited in a warm day, we got seated in the lovely covered courtyard. The waiter was very attentive and took our order efficiently. We had the standard afternoon tea for 4 people. We had a quality selection of sandwiches including salmon and cucumber , beef and horseradish and egg and cress. Fresh scones with jam clotted cream. Also selection of homemade cakes. As much tea and coffee you wanted. The whole experience was 5* you do have to book in advance as they get very busy.

Absolutely fuming, we ordered our food only to wait nearly 40 minutes to be told they only had one portion of lasagne left where 2 of us had ordered. So 40 minutes after they took our order they had not even started cooking it. The food then took another 40 minutes from that point after asking twice more and being told it was being plated up.

Was hoping for better. Wanted to like the chippy but just felt a bit dated all round from the actual restaurant to the food. It was edible and well presented. Nice friendly staff. Prices were ok. Not often I don't want to finish my chippy tea, it just wasn't great and didn't feel to healthy after.

Basic room, as well as the bathroom; located in a quiet area but close to the center. The bed is very comfortable. The real plus is the owner, friendly and very helpful, who welcomed us warmly and then accompanied us in his car for a tour of Stamford and the surrounding area. Of note is the excellent restaurant, the lamb we tasted is unforgettable as are the wines. It does not have a lift or air conditioning. We were the only guests in the hotel: the lack of a traditional buffet or English breakfast, but replaced by packaged products, and the non-working heating which was remedied with an electric heater in the room, can be understood and not negatively impact the overall judgment. I will stay here again if I'm ever in Stamford.

After hearing good things about Millie’s Bistro and won over by the promise of live jazz I decided to book Sunday lunch for my dad’s Birthday meal. First impressions are lovely with a cosy lounge and dining area full of character. I had assumed that the Jazz would be in the dining room but it’s actually in the lounge which means that you can’t hear it when you are in the dining room. Maybe I should have checked who was playing on the Sunday we booked but I would not describe the singer as Jazz. Not to take anything away from the singer at all! Her voice was amazing but my dad is an avid jazz lover and we were a bit disappointed. We ordered the chicken roast for three adults and were under whelmed by the amount we were served. There was one small piece of chicken breast and then three drum sticks and one chicken thigh. The bread sauce was amazing but everything was a bit cold and didn’t look that appealing on the serving platter. Be warned - read the description of the Yorkshire puddings. I didn’t and they come served stuffed with beef which none of us ate as we don’t eat red meat. We had desserts which were nice but a bit of a shame that there isn’t a crumble on the menu for a Sunday lunch. The waitresses were all very polite and friendly but a bit slap dash. I think we will try to come back on a different day of the week but all in all it wasn’t the experience we were expecting.

We visited Stamford to break for lunch on our way north. We chose Gooch’s so we could sit outside in the sunshine. There were lots of tables with people with dogs, and they were welcomed and well catered for too. We chose a panini with Stilton, poached pear and walnut, which came with a salad of leaves, cherry tomato, cucumber, fig and pomegranate, plus home-made coleslaw. Also a ham off the bone baguette, again with salad and coleslaw. Both choices were nicely presented and fresh. Washed down with a beer and a glass of wine it was a joy - as was our waitress. She was friendly, polite, efficient and is a decided asset to the establishment. I asked her name - Joy. When I answered by saying she was a joy as our waitress my feelings were echoed but other tables. She is a credit to the restaurant, which is itself a joy. We are returning home via Stamford and will lunch there again. Thoroughly recommended!

Nice little cafe with friendly staff. Food is very simple but perhaps a little overpriced. They do however need to invest in a proper coffee machine. Tassimo coffee is not really acceptable - there are plenty of cafes in Stamford serving real coffee, and I am sure that they miss out on trade because of this.

We visited today and ordered a bacon roll , toasted sandwich and asked for a children’s beans on toast or dish of beans for a one year old. All they could offer was a set menu of children’s bean on toast , normal (sharp) crisps a fruit shoot and sweets for £4.95 . The later 3 items no use to a one year old . The menu needs a re think to accommodate younger children . Not good value for money either , bacon roll in a stale roll for £4.95 !! Won’t be returning , poor value , no atmosphere !!

Having been unable to go to our planned Sunday lunch venue due to a power cut we (me, OH and nearly 70 year old dad) were looking for a walk-in and thought we'd try the London Inn. We not only walked in and found a table but a comfy booth at that. Ordered three roast beef Sunday lunches and a couple of sides and they were out blindingly quickly and absolutely delicious. Unlike many Sunday roasts, the beef was super soft and tender, the potatoes were fresh and the Yorkies were huge! My OH had a side of cauli cheese which he also really enjoyed. The pub got busier over time but we never felt rushed and after a rest my OH and dad had a pudding, both hearty and delicious (I may have tasted a spoonful or two!). Drinks on offer are good with Aspall's on tap for cider drinkers (me) and plenty of options for draught beer (dad and OH). The staff were absolutely lovely throughout, very friendly, helpful and chatty. Overall a really lovely place, a "'proper" pub with a great atmosphere, lovely food and nice people. What more could you want for a Sunday lunch!
