We visited today and ordered a bacon roll , toasted sandwich and asked for a children’s beans on toast or dish of beans for a one year old. All they could offer was a set menu of children’s bean on toast , normal (sharp) crisps a fruit shoot and sweets for £4.95 . The later 3 items no use to a one year old . The menu needs a re think to accommodate younger children . Not good value for money either , bacon roll in a stale roll for £4.95 !! Won’t be returning , poor value , no atmosphere !!

Lots of choice of cafes in Stamford but we went to the Arts Centre for a snack lunch. There are just a few tables and chairs, and the service is through a hatch/counter. The sandwiches we had were tasty and fresh. Pleasant staff. Limited snacky menu but worth a visit.

This was my first visit back to this cafe since change of ownership. It was always one of our favourite places for me and the children, before or after a show or even simply for tea and cakes, lunch. We were not disappointed! Trish and her team still welcome you with big smiles and the service is prompt and professional. Whilst the menu is simple their is a huge selection and all of great quality. Lunch are always fresh and made on the spot. This is a hidden gem in Stamford where service is great, food fresh and excellent and prices very reasonable.Nic

This cafe used to be excellent, home made good quality food, along side good staff always helpful and friendly. Nothing special now and no atmosphere at all. Expensive and slow service. People seemed to lack any interest in what they were selling or providing a service The food was average. Lots of other places in Stamford that are better than this is now. Very sad

What has happened to Art Center cafe, no luscious home made cakes or scones, massive increase in price of coffee, plus now no free refills. Think we will be finding somewhere else for our get together.

We visit Stamford at least once a week and always called in to the Art centre cafe. Unfortunately it's now been 'modernised', losing its homely community feel. All the prices have been significantly increased especially the drinks. Now all drinks are large. You would be better looking at any of the other cafes in Stamford, unless things change.

The cafe has changed ownership and has been redecorated and refurnished. There seem to be the same lovely staff. However, without warning, the coffee has increased in price from filter coffee at £1.80 a refillable cup to £2.50 for machine made coffee. Not an unreasonable price, but it took a long time to make and was very bitter. The menu seemed similar but we were not eating that day. I fear they may lose customers.

The food was average and nothing special about the coffee or the service. If you're just there waiting for a show to start it's probably fine, but you wouldn't really want to hang out there in preference to a normal coffee shop.

The coffee shop within the Arts Centre is an excellent place to meet before or after visiting the actual Arts Centre. I once did a book launch here in the Centre and the coffee shop did the catering which was just perfect. One can order at a hatch and personalise your order! I like my coffee very black and they are always willing to oblige. I always call in when I am visiting to see the various art exhibitions held there. Neat little shop too.

Well worth a visit. Located in a hotch-potch of lovely old buildings which house the cinema, gallery, ballroom and Information Centre, the cafe is right in the heart, and there are always people coming and going from events, so there's a real buzz. The cafe also stays open til 8pm (hot food served until 7.30pm), so it's a good place to drop into at the end of the day for a bite to eat and a read of the paper. There's a good and interesting menu written up on the boards, ranging from soup and toasted teacakes to paninis and breakfasts, but my favourite is the jacket potatoes, which are cooked perfectly and come with a really good salad and generous toppings.

This arts style coffee shop is well situated in a quiet square not far from th centre of Stamford. It is far more than a coffee shop and sells hot beverages, soups, delicious fruit or cheese scones, breakfasts and light lunches. Nice paintings on the walls for sale, and the arts centre box office within a few yards gives the place a very pleasant homely atmosphere. I don't know whether the staff are paid or volunteers but without exception they are friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Well done. Prices are low to medium but for the experience well worth it. Highly recommended

The menu of home-made meals/snacks never fails to delight. My father, who was the archetypal sarcastic schoolmaster, always used to ask at the counters of such places, "in whose home was the product made?", cringingly for we boys.I can recommend the coffee cafetiere. It contains enough for two leisurely cups and they use especially fine beans (to my taste) - good enough to merit me writing this review.Alas, cherry pie was not on the menu that day.
