Usually use just eat, with no issues..but decided to actually use their own website to order.. online said delivery would be 40 minutes, over 1 hour 20 minutes later we phoned and informed it was on its way! 15 minutes later it arrived, only to have several items missing. Phone back up, told they would get items to us asap.. 30 minutes later still nothing. Phoned back up again to be very rudely told, you can have credit on your next order, and they hung up… There certainly won’t be a next order.. happy to take your money but not give you your goods… Thief’s!

The fish is disgusting I paid 9.10 for a haddock that was tasteless and slimey they used to be a good place but there clearly buying cheap fish and making you pay more the chips were cold the best but was the battered sausage and the curry the gravy was to thick and the peas weren’t that great either

They deliver to us 9 miles away never had such great food pizzas kebabs fish and chips and always hot amazing food

We collected a takeaway on Saturday evening terrible quality the chips were uncooked raw!!the pie was warm not hot and the fish was really bad quality very thin not cod which we ordered! We had some 4 wks prior which was excellent so not sure what's going on but won't be going back. They seem to have all new staff!

Been using for a few years but recently gone down hill. Pass few times chips really under cooked and stodgy like mush.

First time we’ve tried it and the last ! Fish was small and the chips were like mashed potato

If you like grease this is your place to go. £40 wasted. 2 out of 4 children refused to eat as the food was swimming in grease. I get its a chip shop and it’s going to be greasy but wow. Mixed meat and chips with cheese. Swimming. Kebab the pitta was soggy as it had soaked all the grease up. The only thing that wasn’t overly was the chips. I’ve ordered from here on several occasions and it’s always been 👌so to speak. Thought tonight would be different how wrong was I.

The portions are plenty big enough.

Fish & Chips. Oil was stale, Batter wasn't cooked through. Flour on inside. Portion of mushy peas paid for and not supplied. Over £20 for two portions of fish and chips.

When a place got free delivery that is what you expect when it it says delivery free but when you call them up its not free you pay for delivery very cheap way of getting people to go to them i think and they vary rude i well not be going there bad poor taste

We normally have food delivered but today we was passing so nipped in on our way home, we've never had any problems The workers are all so happy and friendly really nice and welcoming had a chat while food was being prepared. The food is always fresh, hot and delicious. Good portions and a great choice on the menu. I would recommend to anyone. Thanks so much for the pespi max 😍😀

Yet another delicious fish & chip lunch! We live in the Vale of Belvoir so when we go shopping in Grantham, we take the opportunity to visit Golden Fry on our way home. The fish is a generous as ever & crispy battered. Huge amount of chips....some I'd which end up in the freezer! Well done! Keep up the high standards and the happy smiley faces!

Rude personnel, who shouted at us down the phone, not what we wanted to hear after a four hour journey to Grantham, Airbnb we were visiting for a funeral, we were looking forward to a nice meal, and met with abuse! What a welcome to Grantham! we politely rang off and ordered dominoes. We took the golden fry leaflet out of the welcome pack and left a note to say if you want fish and chips...Don't order from Golden fry.

After a four hour journey to Airbnb, (for a funeral) we were in a place we did not know, we were tired and hungry, we found the leaflet for golden fry in the welcome pack, we were polite and tried to order, we were met with abuse because we didn't say before hand that we needed to pay by card, his attitude was one of shock, not what was expected at all! we chose to politely decline, and ordered dominies. What a welcome to Grantham !! Avoid unless you want to be shouted at.

Very disappointed. They wanted to charge an extra £3 for putting the salad in separate container to the kebab! Plus the girl taking my order was not at all polite and was actually quite rude. Needless to say I didn’t order😣

So I have been going to golden fry as a go to chippy for about 5 years and has never missed/messed anything up. Tonight along with other nights was exceptional delivery time with being delivered in a whopping 12 mins from order confirmation. Very recommended.

I've ordered from this place for years tonight has got to be the worst kebab I've ever had forgotten some of the order and for 20 pounds worth of food what a joke phoned up to a very rude man on the phone then told never to phone or come there again really gone down hill AVOID !!

Me and my sister are visiting my mums tonight so we are not from this area. We ordered £30 worth of food. My meal was fish and chips with curry sauce and the curry sauce wasn’t in the bag and I don’t like dry fish and chips. I tried the chips on their own as I’m so hungry and they were just dry and tasteless. Complete waste of money for my meal. I phoned up and explained over the phone to be told we are too far away to bring the curry sauce back even though it should have been in the bag in the first place. The lady on the phone tried explaining she could put the money back onto my just eat account which I tried to explain wouldn’t have benefited me because it was my sister who ordered on her just eat account not mine. I couldn’t eat any of my food dry so both my food and money was wasted. The lady then sounded rude on the phone when I didn’t understand what she was trying to tell me which made me feel uncomfortable, it wasn’t good customer service at all. Busy or not, Everything we paid for should have been in the bag. Why is no one checking the bags to check everything is in there before they leave? :/

Food arrived on time but pizzas were cold delivery driver shouted at me i phoned up to complain they were angry snd unhelpful never ordering ftom there again!

Such a shame to see Golden Fry's standards slip so much. Order was placed via Just eat and after 1 hour we received notification that the order was on the way. Fantastic! After 40 minutes we were concerned that we had not received the order and we may get cold food. We called them and a very polite lady answered the phone. She asked me to hold whilst she chased the order and I heard a guy say "It's left...... 10 mins" which she politely relayed. I asked how long it had been gone but she would only say it would be with me in 10 minutes. It didn't arrive in 10 but did in 20 minutes and it was stone cold when we unwrapped it, which makes me believe it had been on the road for a good hour. Of course we have tried calling but no one picking up, as if they are expecting it. Just eat obviously take no responsibility and are not interested in solution. One positive from this experience is that after such a long time on the road, the fat and oil in the meal had congealed and I am thankful for not eating it!

Order a take away looked up the cost as they prefer cash only.... Well it was cold and even thou they say free delivery they still charge you for it.... ring up and complain you get told call the police if not happy we can charge what we like when we like.... pictures are of the lucky dip prices..... you ask for receipt if you pay for cash you get the excuse of it is the delivery drivers copy only....

The order i asked for came and was completely wrong, they replaced my order and was wrong again, not to mention it was cold and late i would strongly not recommend this place

Very rude snotty woman on phone when I complained about missing food. The food was cold and got even colder having to wait for the chips that were missing from the fish and chips I ordered. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!

I heard good things about this chippy, so decided to find out for myself. Excellent quality , cooked in fat , which gives it the old fashioned taste I look for. Everything cooked perfectly and a side of scraps too. Friendly staff, not much off road parking but that's outweighed by the standard of the food.

Very tasty cod fish and chips, first time I've used them but it deffo won't be the last, my partner had a Donna kebab and said it was very good also.

Worst food I've ever eaten. Fish fried in old oil very greasy. Chicken breast burger was old hard it was impossible to bite. I advise you to avoid this store and run as far as possible. I reported them to the Sanepid. Watch out for that old food. Shame to give rubbish to people.

What's happened to this place the staff are so rude get shouted at when you complain because you try make order over phone and they taking two orders at same time going to one phone then the other so not listening and get order right . Best fish and chips in the area as far as I'm concerned! Good choice of fish, pies, pizza, kebabs and burgers. You can order on line, or ring them, or face to face. They respond quickly and staff helpful. Free off road parking available. Huge portions of chips given. Can highly recommend and good value for money.

Order food over the phone, ask for a chicken burger meal with coke and curry sauce x 2... to get just the burger and curry sauce no chips and be told when I ring up this is how it comes ! Ridiculously priced for what it is and the service you receive... use charcoal grill far better food and price.

Worst Shish Kabab I have ever ordered. Could not chew any of the meat so wasted my money paying for it. Will never order from Golden Fry again.

Today my husband bought 2 pizza from this shop. He ordered chicken pizza with jelapeno. Later he gone for work. Children opened box later. While eating they told it contains pepperoni. There are pieces seen we were wondering couldnt see any pepperoni on the toppings and they didnt done any jelapeno. When I checked pizza by opening cheese and chicken toppings. There is pepperoni hided everywhere. We wont eat pepperoni or any pig meat. This is really danger situation. Not at all acceptable. When I told my hus he told there is no receipt received. So how come we can call them.

Ok fish and chips but my chip cob had mold on it and my mushy peas where out the fridge stone cold so won't recommend.

Never been before. Will go back again as it was cheaper than our usual and also quicker. The size of the fish which I ordered was huge! Did not know you could buy fish the size of a small whale!

Got Cod and Chips from here for dinner one night whilst staying in the area. The fish was cooked perfectly as we're the chips. Service was perfect as was the price.

Husband had cod and chips and said it was lovely, I had a jacket potato and baked beans and it was awful was hot but potato was so hard it went straight in the bin ,obviously teach me not to try and get something healthy from a chip shop

I order from here quite a lot and the food is normally decent. But tonight I ordered and he said it was going to be half an hour, over an hour I waited so I rang them to find out where my order was, he said it’s on it’s way they only have one driver.... they have more than one during the week but on the weekend they have 1.... that’s sounds right. 20 minutes later it comes to my door and it’s freezing cold and hard.

You don’t get what you order it’s a lucky dip but then certainly charge you and then they say it’s not my fault, they always blame everyone else.... really, don’t bother, find someone else to order from.... they are shocking! Cold food, uncooked food, not what you order in the first place! Menu is in the best place, in the bin!

The hot food was good ive got no complaints about that but the chocolate cake i ordered had a bit on onion skin ontop of it! so I picked it off hoping it would be fine. It must have been cut with the same knife as an onion because it had an onion taste to it and smelt of onion down the sides. All I will say is just remember to clean your knives😊

Had take away delivery tonight, chips were not fully cooked very pale some still hard, burger was tasteless basically a terrible meal the last three orders have been total crap seems to have determinated since lockdown, won't be buying from them again.

After using this place many times unfortunately after this time it was not upto standard. Had meat and chips and the chicken pieces were sharp, hard, very dry and no easy to swallow. The meat had to go in the bin so just had to have the chips. Such a shame as we hadn't eaten much and were looking forward to it.

This used to be the best takeaway in Town, now it’s gone downhill in the biggest way, we had a bad meal last time but put it down to a busy one off, tonight was appalling fish and chips were cold on delivery (over an hour late) fish was overcooked and dried up, chips weren’t cooked properly We binned most of it Quality has gone completely and when you call they don’t care We won’t be back

If your not ready to take a telephone order, do not pick the phone up. Twice now we have rang and immediatley told "wait one min" which turned into me hanging on for what seemed ages , i found this service very rude and put the phone down.

Went to Meres Live couldnt find anything within walking distance where I could sit and eat - this wasnt a sit in but I was hungry. Good quantity and good quality for the fish and chips I had.

Went here because of the Good rating and was looking for another chippy to.get a selection of the area. Was extremely disappointed. The scampi was poorly done and oil was dirty something the inlaws could tell from years of owning a chippy. Although people at work were surprised how poor it was so probably a one off.

Not bad at all. Chips were not stodgy, and jumbo battered sausage was fine. Very busy little shop, with a lot going on, but at least that's a sign that it is popular and that the food isn't just lying there for ages. Will come again.
