Brewers Fayre Farrier in South Kesteven

Currently sitting at the drive through at kfc because we couldn’t be bothered to wait any longer for the food to arrive…. And it weren’t that busy

Lovely food with friendly attentive staff.

I am giving this the amount of stars it took before the staff forgot to come back and take drinks and desert orders.

Stopped here just before 12noon, its closed after breakfast session. Great staff food good

We stopped off for EV charging and had a small lunch. It wasn't anything extraordinary but it was hot, cheapish and clean and tidy. The service wasn't great but they were busy.

Well Google did ask "how was your trip to the Farrier?" but I wish it hadn't! Possibly one of the worst restaurant experiences we've had would be the answer 😞. I get that it was a Friday evening and the one before half term, but the restaurant wasn't completely full, yet we had to wait for our "reserved" table at 6pm, despite arriving 20 minutes early and there being lots of tables for 4 empty already. Not to worry, as we could go get a drink at the bar. But with only one person serving then no wonder the guy next to us had a moan at how long he had been waiting! Once we finally got to the table it was about 10 minutes before being asked for our order and another 30 minutes for food to arrive (which is probably fair for the time of day). I had to query my bread and butter and wait another while for this to arrive, so I was well in to my meal by then. If it wasn't bad enough then there was some major flickering going on with all the lights in our restaurant area! I doubt very much that it was an intended "candle effect" but you would think the staff would have checked if we had any problem with it no? I could go on but a general summing-up was terrible customer service (the staff had no real "customer-facing" skills) and an evening to forget. Unfortunately it probably won't be forgotten, but at least it will be used for some laughs at how surreally bad the experience was. Oh, the food was ok though. Maybe aside from my bread which had been in the fridge (really, who does that with bread?) and the butter that was rock solid (and had to be melted on top of my fish) 😂. Sorry, Brewers Fayre, but this is one of your pubs that we won't be visiting again 👎.

Food is at best warm and around 25 mins for a round of drinks

Went for Sunday lunch, was lovely, beef a bit fatty and serving spoons really hot

A very busy restaurant/ public house,roast dinner is fabulous and in my opinion the star of the show.

The food was lovley and the desert we'll done

The service was perfect and I had an amazing 3 course meal with my partner which couldn’t have been better. Especially the steak which was cooked perfectly with a side of chips which was very crispy

A good place to stop to break a 6hour journey south. Overall, the meal was good. The highlight-We were served by Veronica who is an absolute delight.

Service extremely slow. Order was taken nearly half an hour after we arrived, we had to ask for the glasses for refill drinks and ask when our food was going to arrive. The food was very good, far outshene the service!!!

Absolutely appauling service, after being seated had to ask to order after 25 mins, had to ask for refillable glasses after another 10 mins! Couple opposite had drinks, starters and main then left before our meals came out that were not hot! Dad after ten mins of finishing main meals had to ask to order desserts. Appauling service!!!! Normally good but totally disappointed tonight!

The food is inedible, the staff does not listen to what you order, above all the tables are dirty, they serve tables poorly.

SUE greeted me beautifully, as a former employee she matched every quality that cold have been met by premier inn and more. An outstanding employee!

The Service at the farrier was spot on made to feel very welcome Ebony took our order and looked after us throughout our meal.

We arrived on Sunday evening and Google stated that the place closed at 22:30. We entered the bar area at 21:55 only to be told that they were now closed. We returned for breakfast the next morning and the service was a lot more friendlier. The food was lukewarm, but we just needed a bite to eat before we went on our way.

Well definetley be going back, everything was perfect.

Came with my husband for our 1st wedding anniversary. Service was friendly. Food came out quickly. Portions were excellent. The unlimited breakfast was excellent as we booked it through the hotel. Staff and managers were very accommodating. Very wheelchair friendly. Great deals on the food. Thankyou to all staff for making our first wedding anniversary special. Please be aware there is a kids play area as it is child friendly didn't bother us. But if you want somewhere quiet this need to be taken into consideration. But over all great experience.

Came in for breakfast the other Sunday. Very good service from the staff . Food was very nice. Freshly stocked breakfast. Have previously visited for Sunday carvery which is always very nice and fresh. The Farrier has to be one of the best restaurants around the Grantham area.😁

The steak was a little tough, the onion rings were too crispy, but the chips and peas were nice. The service could have been a lot better. They missed out on a drink and dessert order because once they got me my food (which took a while) they didn’t even look at me again until I was done.

Hope met us at the door showed us our table and looked after us while we was here. She is a credit to your company very polite and helpful

We called on a Friday lunchtime it was not busy. We was shown to a table and drinks were ordered Drinks were brought out but no one came for food order we grabbed a waiter and placed food order. Food came out after 20 mins and was nice No one came to ask if we wanted anything else or to see if everything was OK When we left there was no one manning the till we was eventually seen to by the same woman that seated us. We did complain about the service but this was ignored there was no apology and we will not be going back even though the food was nice it was not good enough to put up with awful service

The staff were very friendly and in for a joke. Food was good straight up pub fare. Impressed that we were asked about allergies before being shown to our table.

First visit with the family . Looking for some where local for Sunday lunch, found this and over the moon to see they had a Sunday carvery on offer. On arriving We were greeted by a lovely lady called Sue. Regardless of the restaurant being extremely busy she took time to answer a query I had. The carvery was delicious, and 3 of us had opted for the “ large” roast. Slices of Turkey , Ham and roast beef which were beautifully cooked. Large variety of vegetable dishes alongside Yorkshire puddings , pigs in blankets and very tasty gravy! Even the grandchildren cleared their plates and they have a tendency to be a little bit “ picky”x This was followed by 2 adult deserts , 2 children’s desserts , A coffee a mint tea cider , 2 pints of beer , a cider, and 2 apple juice. To add to the children’s pleasure they realised there was also a soft play for them. I asked for the bill from another very pleasant staff member ( sorry didn’t catch your name) I mentioned a voucher that I had. There was a slight problem deducting this from the bill but at this point , Sue came once more to the rescue. With a final bill of £82 for 4 hungry adults and 2 children we were VERY impressed ! Thank you all for making our visit so pleasant snd yes , we will be back 👍

After a disastrous meal attempt at another establishment, we arrived at the farrier quite late. We were seated quickly, the drinks came within minutes, orders taken and the starter was served within 20 minutes, we had the sharing platter, it was lovely, plenty for a starter for 2, very tasty and nice variety, one of the dips is hot though, be warned ⚠️ 😂 The main we asked for Haddock had sold out, but with the time of evening and it being the special it was not surprising or an issue, we both went for the smothered platter instead. So glad we did, the steak was cooked perfectly for us both, which is not normally the case as we both are very different in steak tastes! The gammon and chicken both melted in our mouths and there was a portion large enough that we were too full for dessert 🍨 The team were friendly and welcoming, the restaurant and toilets were both very clean. There is a small indoor soft play for children too! 10 out of 10!

I went in today to dine at the restaurant and I felt like we had been neglected keeping us for a longer duration to serve food. I'm so disappointed with their service.

Had a business lunch with colleagues here. Restaurant was busy but managed to find us a nice table in bar area so we could have a lunch meeting. Food came quickly and unlimited coffee, all good value for money.

Enjoyed a delicious rump steak with onion rings cooked to perfection. The team serving were friendly and efficient without being in your face. Unfortunately they had sold out of Moretti lager but we were offered Madri, which was actually very nice. It was my wife’s birthday and Fran our server surprised her with a birthday card and a box of chocolates. This blew us away. We will not hesitate to recommend to friends.

Exceptional service was received from Graham B last night whilst he served us some amazing cocktails and his service skills absolutely amazing he was good explaining certain aspects of the drinks menu and helped us decide on some amazing cocktails 2 for £10 absolute bargain deffo coming to see him again soon :)

The coke brought me great pleasure but I was truly unsatisfied with the amount of lasagna left when I was expecting to enjoy my dinner after a long day of traveling. I am sorry to say this was very disappointing.

It was very busy but there was no wait. The food was better than expected and of course it was inexpensive.

Great place but it says breakfast till 11am but we walked in at 10:20 and was told breakfast is finish very disappointing

Always a good atmosphere and the food is always lovely. Only reason the service got a 4 is because of one visit where we were ignored at the counter and not acknowledged so we walked out, otherwise usually a great experience

Stopped for Breakfast. Staff were helpful (as it was my first visit) on the process and in getting me some vegetarian options from the kitchen. Food was plentiful and good quality. Thanks!

Staying at the adjoining premier inn, and popped in here for dinner in the evening. This was on the "meal deal". Food was pretty good, tasty main course, although starters are not so good. All came out hot and pretty quickly. Pint of lager was nice too. Only small negative was surroundings a bit tired in places.

Had a lovely meal here. Great food and atmosphere and I feel particular mention must go to our waitress Hope. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She was amazing with our toddler and it is so refreshing to get service with a genuine smile. This girls deserves a raise!

On tuesday evening me and some friends visited the farrier recently for dinner and drinks, we sat in the bar and Hope served us. She made some lovely cocktails and our food was brought out very quickly. Great value for money!

My family and I came in for lunch and were given perfect service by Hope and Chloe. They were so helpful and welcoming. Our food was served very quickly and the meals were delicious. Great value for money with the weekday offer! We will be coming again

Visited recently with my family and we were unfamiliar with the area. heard good things from a friend of ours and was pleasantly surprised with the food and service, our waitress hope was incredibly polite and helpful, would recommend !

I would highly recommend a trip to the farrier, prices are very affordable and food is lovely. The staff are very attentive, on my most recent trip I was served by Hope who was efficient in taking our drink and food orders all with a smile on our face despite the busy restaurant.

came in for a drink Tuesday night, Hope on the bar was so friendly and efficient. She poured the perfect guinness (even did a lovely shamrock on top!) will be coming again!!

We stopped for a late lunch after a 4 hour drive with 2 small dog's therefore had to sit outside. No problem we love that. I went inside to give my order, starter's came in about 20 minutes. Then we waited over an hour, no mains. I eventually went inside to find out what on earth was taking so long, to be told the waiters don't attend the tables outside, the customer must come inside to tell them we are ready for our meal 😳😤. This was on Monday last week, one of the hottest days so far. I cancelled the other as both my husband and dogs were sweltering. I then get dirty looks and huffing and then told they had now started it and they would have to throw it away and that I was wasting good food. I didn't receive an apology from the so called manager, she just said she would refund me. They even had the ordasity to charge me for the starter and dessert which we hadn't had yet. Well needless to say we didn't stop on the way back and neither did our relatives. Disgusting, never heard of a restaurant not serving the outside customers when service is due.😤😤

I came here today to eat, and the waitress asked if I were from the hotel to which I replied no, I'm moving to the area, after my meal this lovely young lady appeared in front of me, that had served me, with a box of chocolates, she really made my day. Thank you so much. I wish I'd got your name, but I will be back.

Really good. Glad I stopped by when heading north. Sunday roast was really good, in fact all food impressive. Staff were all friendly. Can't fault it and will use again on my travels

Had Sunday carvery! The chef was great, waitress told us his nake was roy?, really helpful with us and it was all delicious. So much to choose from and i noticed it was always being stocked and well kept. We’ll be back for sure!

Been here many times with no problems, but my last on June 22nd saw a 40 min wait for my starter, and when the main arrived it seemed to have been on a hot plate as the steak element was hard and inedible! Normally a great place so hope this is just a one off!

Good value Sunday carvery. Indoor play area for small child, which makes it a relaxing family venue for a meal. Staff all very helpful. Excellent service.

Lovely food. Got there and 10.30am on a Sunday and was advised its "closing but it's up to you" waitress needs further training in customer service and needs to learn how to speak with a bit more respect l. Food was lovely as usual.

Spent £43 on 2 carvery’s and a starter of nachos with chicken goujons. For the money you pay the quality is unfortunately not satisfactory. I am quite disappointed as in the past I have come here and food has been splendid. If you come here be wary you won’t get your moneys worth.

Had an awful experience on Father’s Day with customer service that just doesn’t seem to care paid for a normal breakfast to be given a 35 minute session despite the fact they issued that you could have an hour then told me 45 minutes due to the fact that I had to wait in a queue and then couldn’t get a parking space to be rushed 35 minutes all I managed to eat was a slice of toast you have busy ones which I completely understand however it doesn’t help when you paid full price for an experience you didn’t even get

This place is in decline, the food isn’t what it used to be, they gave changed the wings and potato dippers recently and it’s a shame. I would rate the service higher but for the life of me I don’t understand why this restaurant isn’t like others in the chain where you order at the bar. They went to table service after Covid and gave not reverted to bar ordering. In my opinion this is to the determination of the place, the manager should change it back to help the staff and speed up the service.. after 8 years of going here, we will avoid until things improve, starting with the removal or ordering at the table

Had the pleasure of taking my family to the farrier today. On confirming our booking was asked if we had any nut allergies which was nice. Service was excellent everyone enjoyed the food but was slightly slow, but this was OK as the children enjoyed playing in the play area. Would I go again? Yes, they do great deals and are not expensive. Thank you

Don't order off the sides menu, apparently it's not worth their time. Overcharged me and then gave me attitude for asking for the mistake to be sorted. Won't be going back

On a day trip out with a group of residents and came across this little gem. Staff were extremely helpful and attentive to the group needs. In fact the staff couldn't have been more helpful, nothing was too much for them. Food came out in a timely manner and everyone said how lovely it was. Would definitely recommend

Can’t fault the unlimited breakfast! First time of visiting the farrier and we enjoyed this pub so much, everyone was friendly and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Great little soft play area for kids too.

Service, food and atmosphere here was spot on. We only wanted a snack and their menu met our requirements 😋 the lady who served us was very courteous, really friendly. We have been here a few times now and each time all was good 👍 Thank you 😊

I find the food at any Brewers Fayre tends to be ok but quite low quality ingredients generally. It's fine but you don't come here for fine dining. What was really good was the service, especially the lady who welcomed and seated us, and the reason we came was that it is so family friendly for our 5 year old who could go and enjoy the soft play safely. All in all a good experience, although if we didn't have young kids with us I probably would go elsewhere.

A lovely restaurant and friendly staff which makes a big difference to your dining experience. It's a large area with a bright conservatory attached. A kids area away to one side is a bonus.

First time visiting, it was absolutely brilliant highly recommend
