Walked through the door, asked for table for 2 , the waiter goes do its look like we have any tables, however we were waiting a while to get served, never againnn

A group of us staying at the adjacent Premier Inn, booked the meal deal. Quickly shown to our table and the drinks order take. Good selection on the menu. The chicken goujons and bbq sauce was a tasty starter. A number of us chose the fish and chips and we were not disappointed, very tasty, well presented and a good portion. The staff were friendly and helpful dealing well with 10 grumpy old codgers. Good value for money, well worth a visit.

TLDR: Nice food, terrible service. We ate here on the meal deal as we were staying at the Premier Inn next door. The welcome was somewhat slow and unenthusiastic. The overall atmosphere was noisy, even though it certainly wasn't full. We had to ask 3 different members of staff to get the full picture of what was and wasn't included in the meal deal, this took approximately 20 minutes, by which point they hadn't even taken a drinks order. My first pint of Doom bar was completely flat, but replaced without issue, however the second pint was just as bad. We were not told about the refillable soft drinks, but they amended the bill to reflect this. The food was however very nice and went down a treat.

We always stay at Premier inn and usually take advantage of the meal deal and whilst the food was lovely the service was shockingly bad. Our meal took 2h 45m no one knew what was included with the meal deal and it was a guess so I eventually just asked do you not have a actual menu. We weren't told the soft drinks were refill until the end and they did then take the extra off the bill. Our cutlery was dirty and the beer was flat, we did send our pint back but the replacement was still flat. I had to go and find someone to order more and to then pay the bill.hopefully breakfast service is better because the food was really quite good

Went for a valentines meal served by leah b and a few other staff friendly atmosphere and great members of staff if asked for something they sorted it straight away had a few modifications to our meal and what we asked for we got food is outstanding will come again

Excellent service from start to finish from Isobel. Unfortunately the food was tasty but cold.

Often come here with my friends for a monthly dinner. Servers are always happy and helpful. Either Michelle or Sue are always the manager on shift when we go and they always go above and beyond to make sure we're seen to promptly and looked after well.

We were served by Sue and she was brilliant with us. Food was great too. Deffo recommend :)

Family lunch absolutely great host Sue brilliant so helpful fathers 80th birthday really professional. Very polite and friendly. Food absolutely great as asked for and didn't have to wait long as we were a big party. Would absolutely recommend to anyone. Would advise to book as very popular and great value for money.

The coffee machine wasn't working when we visited. We were given sachets of Nescafe instead. As disappointing as this was, I was was further surprised to look at the bill later to find that I'd been charged full price for an inferior alternative. Attentive staff and tasty food compensated, however, and I would return.

Popped in for Saturday lunch on way home from visiting our son. Food was tasty and coo ked as requested. Price was acceptable for food and service. Staff helpful toilets clean and fragrant.

Just arrived home from a meal at this venue, arrived there at 5.45 and ordered two coca colas and a lasagne and a chicken tikka. The lasagne and chicken tikka arrived at 5.55 and I asked where our drinks were and our waitress informed us that she would check. We finished our meals and went to pay the bill but the drinks were on the bill, I explained that we had not received our drinks despite having reminded our waitress so we would not be paying for them - this was accepted and we paid for just the meals which were very nice. We left at 6.20. The restaurant was not busy at the time and I did note that other people arrived after us and received their drinks before we received our meals.

Limited menu food was tasty shame about lack of options

Booked a table for the Sunday carvery as we have a blue light card. Busy pub with plenty of staff looking after us. Big queue for the carvery but not an issue as it was clearly popular. Good selection of meat and hot potatoes and nice selection of vegetables. We didn’t have dessert, drinks were good, the ale was well looked after and the porn star cocktail was perfect.

Had breakfast here with family, the service, food and atmosphere was everything you could hope for. Lots of food choices and it was buffet style, so you could fill your tummy as much as you liked. Great visit.

Ate dinner 3 days running, food very good ,service also good, had breakfast 2 days , service not great , breakfast awful, full English both days, everything like warm at best , serving the food hot is basic, I definitely won't be eating breakfast there again

After a disastrous meal attempt at another establishment, we arrived at the farrier quite late. We were seated quickly, the drinks came within minutes, orders taken and the starter was served within 20 minutes, we had the sharing platter, it was lovely, plenty for a starter for 2, very tasty and nice variety, one of the dips is hot though, be warned ⚠️ 😂 The main we asked for Haddock had sold out, but with the time of evening and it being the special it was not surprising or an issue, we both went for the smothered platter instead. So glad we did, the steak was cooked perfectly for us both, which is not normally the case as we both are very different in steak tastes! The gammon and chicken both melted in our mouths and there was a portion large enough that we were too full for dessert 🍨 The team were friendly and welcoming, the restaurant and toilets were both very clean. There is a small indoor soft play for children too! 10 out of 10! **update** Brilliant service again this morning when we visited for the unlimited breakfast, great food, lots of good latte and lovely staff. Keep it up.

As we were visiting my family we decided to walk down to The Farrier for some Boxing Day drinks. Big mistake. We arrived to find it wasn't particularly busy in the bar with a few people queuing to be seated in the restaurant. We found a table and ordered a round of drinks and cocktails totalling £36. My brother then went to the bar having finished our drinks to order another round. He was the only person stood at the bar, so we assumed he would return with some drinks in a short space of time. Ten minutes later he was still waiting to be served . From where we were seated we could see that although several people had walked past him , he was ignored completely with not one member of staff even apologising for the wait or attempting to assist. There was 1 member of bar staff busy with another order for a restaurant customer, and 3 members of staff stood at the reception desk, talking and staring at a receipt. After another 5 minutes my brother then politely asked the 3 women if anyone was going to be serving drinks or to assist the lone bar maid who was obviously still busy with drinks orders from the restaurant. Shockingly he was then met with eye rolling and attitude from all 3 women closing ranks and turning on him for having the temerity to express his frustration at the poor service and lack of customer care. A member of staff who I learned It was at this point that the manageress told him quite bluntly that ' The Farrier ' is a family restaurant and as such they don't put any focus on ' bar ' customers and Ithat he shouldn't be so impatient even though Ihevwas the only bar customer and been waiting over 15 mins by this stage. As a family watching this scenario play out was quite shocking.This woman was rude, confrontational and unpleasant with absolutely no shred of customer service being offered. She begrudgingly poured 3 drinks, all flat beers and then told my daughter she wouldn't be serving our table as my brother had been ‘rude '. Clearly It was a pretty embarrassing situation for us This service is easily the worst we ever been unfortunate enough to receive from a pub. No doubt the manager will respond denying these events and will try and embellish the fact how rude my brother was alleged to have been. If this unprofessional cretin is the face of Brewers Fayre at The Farrier she needs to seriously undergo some training in customer service and relations as she is clearly not able to manage criticism and deal with unhappy customers in a professional manner. We as a family will not be stepping foot in this establishment again .

Miserable Boxing Day Experience. Avoid!!!! Decided to visit with my family for some Boxing Day drinks, what a mistake! We arrived to find it wasn't particularly busy in the bar or restaurant, found a table and ordered a round of drinks and cocktails totalling £36. Having finished the drinks I went to the ' bar ' to order another round. I was the only person stood at the bar, so waited patiently to be acknowledged and served, and waited, and waited, and waited! There was 1 member of bar staff busy with another order for a restaurant customer, and 3 members of staff huddled at the reception desk, talking and staring at a receipt. I had been stood waiting for 10-15 minutes being ignored by the 3 members of staff even though I had tried to catch their attention Eventually I had to ask if anyone was actually serving, but mistake as I was then subjected to quite a bit of attitude and eye rolling , a bit confusing as I thought I was a customer in a pub not an intruder interrupting their meeting! A member of staff who I learned was the manageress told me quite bluntly that ' The Farrier ' is a family restaurant and as such they don't put any focus on ' bar ' customers and I shouldn't be so impatient even though I was the only bar customer and been waiting over 15 mins by this stage. I thought this was a disgraceful attitude to have towards customers and told her as such. Bearing in mind we had just spent £36 and was about to spend more. She begrudgingly poured 3 drinks, all flat beers and then told my niece she wouldn't be serving our table as I had ' been rude '. Clearly this was very embarrassing for us This service is easily the worst I've ever been unfortunate enough to receive from a pub. I know the management will respond denying these events and will try and embellish the fact how rude I'm alleged to have been. All members of my party were shocked by the managers attitude and ensured me I hadn't been rude . I've also emailed Brewers Fayre customer complaints to make them aware and will be following this up with a phone call as I feel the whole experience was completely unacceptable

I visited this place with my wife and despite there currently being a reduced menu on there was still plenty of choice for both me and my partner, we was served by a lovely young lady Roni who was very helpful with our queries about the vegan options as my wife is vegan. The food wait wasn’t too long and our plates were cleared immediately once we had finished which was nice to not have them in the way on the table. Overall we left satisfied.

Visited today and after waiting 20 minutes to be served, we walked out, yes they was busy, but the service is appalling anymore than 10 tables in, don’t bother. Been before and food is wrong and wait time is terrible. Obviously no improvement.

Went to eat breakfast as having a meeting. Turned away as no space in restaurant . The car park empty and at least 25 tables empty. As we wasn’t staying at hotel we couldn’t eat. Other people before us walked in as they parked and went in and paid for breakfast. Lady serving said no tables and there full. I proceeded to leave and then rang and then asked for table and they had space .!!! So an empty restaurant and empty car park and staff turn paying extra customers away ..!!

Unfortunately when we went so many menu options were not available owing to delivery issues. We specifically wanted the Turkey and that was one of missing options. At this time of year it seems so fundamental to have this Xmas staple, so to not have it a big issue. We left and went elsewhere.

Overall quality of food was good although not as warm as it should be. Staff seemed stressed and although polite they seemed that every request was an effort. Our server didn’t smile until it was bill/tip time.

Had a work team breakfast here. Food was plenty And always available. Never empty when taking another trip back up for all you can eat breakfast. Nice atmospheric clean pub. Will visit again. Plenty of parking available even with 4.5t van.

Great carvery. Food & plates hot & cooked to perfection. Good variety of vegetables & a scrumptious gravy. Lovely atmosphere & staff very obliging. Had a tasty pint of Doombar. Not rushed. We return here quite regularly & the venue is always well attended, which probably tells you all you need to know. You will not be disappointed.

Went for Christmas family get together, And food was very enjoyable, staff very friendly especially the manageress, just sorry bar closed so early would have been nice to be able to stay and have a drink, but saying that did not take away from a very good experience. All the staff work very hard . Happy Christmas to you all

Had a lovely meal on Sunday for a birthday. We shown to seats by Graham who was friendly and got our drinks promptly . We all had a lovely carvery and we all said that nice sit at big round table as can all communicate better . Carvery was lovely and birthday boy got a small gift and card from Farrier team. Only downside was it a while before got asked about desserts and for it to arrive but I think like most places has more staff be even better experience. Staff were all friendly.

Lovely clean pub, always friendly staff who are always super busy but still offer faultless service. Breakfast when we go is always super hot and plenty of variety. Definitely visit again.

Where to start? I had the unfortunate experience of dining at this restaurant today, and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. From the moment we walked in, it felt like customers were treated as an afterthought. It took 15 minutes just to be greeted at the door, and once we were finally seated, it was another 20 minutes before our drinks arrived. At that point, my expectations weren’t high, but things only got worse. After waiting 40 minutes, someone finally came to ask if we’d like to order food. When the food eventually arrived 30 minutes later, the pizza I ordered was wrong—and when the correct one came, it was even worse. The flavor was unappealing, the toppings were burnt, and it felt like there was barely any cheese on it. For the price, it was a complete letdown. Honestly, I would’ve been better off buying an Aldi own-brand pizza, saving £10, and being much more satisfied. The “fresh” salad that came with the child’s meal was far from fresh—the salad was dry, and the cucumber felt like it had been sitting out all day. As for the so-called kids’ play area, it was an absolute shambles. The smell and overall state of it were appalling. It’s not somewhere I’d ever want my children to play again. It desperately needs improving to make it safe and enjoyable for families. To top it all off, the advertised 25% off offer was poorly communicated, adding to the overall frustration. I left feeling upset, annoyed, and regretting that I spent my money here. This was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve ever had. Shocked doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel about this place. I certainly won’t be returning.

Managed to snag a table in the bar area. So glad we did. The Sunday carvery was yummy. Would recommend booking a table!

I am giving this the amount of stars it took before the staff forgot to come back and take drinks and desert orders.

We stopped off for EV charging and had a small lunch. It wasn't anything extraordinary but it was hot, cheapish and clean and tidy. The service wasn't great but they were busy.

Well Google did ask "how was your trip to the Farrier?" but I wish it hadn't! Possibly one of the worst restaurant experiences we've had would be the answer 😞. I get that it was a Friday evening and the one before half term, but the restaurant wasn't completely full, yet we had to wait for our "reserved" table at 6pm, despite arriving 20 minutes early and there being lots of tables for 4 empty already. Not to worry, as we could go get a drink at the bar. But with only one person serving then no wonder the guy next to us had a moan at how long he had been waiting! Once we finally got to the table it was about 10 minutes before being asked for our order and another 30 minutes for food to arrive (which is probably fair for the time of day). I had to query my bread and butter and wait another while for this to arrive, so I was well in to my meal by then. If it wasn't bad enough then there was some major flickering going on with all the lights in our restaurant area! I doubt very much that it was an intended "candle effect" but you would think the staff would have checked if we had any problem with it no? I could go on but a general summing-up was terrible customer service (the staff had no real "customer-facing" skills) and an evening to forget. Unfortunately it probably won't be forgotten, but at least it will be used for some laughs at how surreally bad the experience was. Oh, the food was ok though. Maybe aside from my bread which had been in the fridge (really, who does that with bread?) and the butter that was rock solid (and had to be melted on top of my fish) 😂. Sorry, Brewers Fayre, but this is one of your pubs that we won't be visiting again 👎.

Service extremely slow. Order was taken nearly half an hour after we arrived, we had to ask for the glasses for refill drinks and ask when our food was going to arrive. The food was very good, far outshene the service!!!

Absolutely appauling service, after being seated had to ask to order after 25 mins, had to ask for refillable glasses after another 10 mins! Couple opposite had drinks, starters and main then left before our meals came out that were not hot! Dad after ten mins of finishing main meals had to ask to order desserts. Appauling service!!!! Normally good but totally disappointed tonight!

The food is inedible, the staff does not listen to what you order, above all the tables are dirty, they serve tables poorly.

SUE greeted me beautifully, as a former employee she matched every quality that cold have been met by premier inn and more. An outstanding employee!

The Service at the farrier was spot on made to feel very welcome Ebony took our order and looked after us throughout our meal.

We arrived on Sunday evening and Google stated that the place closed at 22:30. We entered the bar area at 21:55 only to be told that they were now closed. We returned for breakfast the next morning and the service was a lot more friendlier. The food was lukewarm, but we just needed a bite to eat before we went on our way.

Well definetley be going back, everything was perfect.

Came with my husband for our 1st wedding anniversary. Service was friendly. Food came out quickly. Portions were excellent. The unlimited breakfast was excellent as we booked it through the hotel. Staff and managers were very accommodating. Very wheelchair friendly. Great deals on the food. Thankyou to all staff for making our first wedding anniversary special. Please be aware there is a kids play area as it is child friendly didn't bother us. But if you want somewhere quiet this need to be taken into consideration. But over all great experience.

Came in for breakfast the other Sunday. Very good service from the staff . Food was very nice. Freshly stocked breakfast. Have previously visited for Sunday carvery which is always very nice and fresh. The Farrier has to be one of the best restaurants around the Grantham area.😁

The steak was a little tough, the onion rings were too crispy, but the chips and peas were nice. The service could have been a lot better. They missed out on a drink and dessert order because once they got me my food (which took a while) they didn’t even look at me again until I was done.

We called on a Friday lunchtime it was not busy. We was shown to a table and drinks were ordered Drinks were brought out but no one came for food order we grabbed a waiter and placed food order. Food came out after 20 mins and was nice No one came to ask if we wanted anything else or to see if everything was OK When we left there was no one manning the till we was eventually seen to by the same woman that seated us. We did complain about the service but this was ignored there was no apology and we will not be going back even though the food was nice it was not good enough to put up with awful service

First visit with the family . Looking for some where local for Sunday lunch, found this and over the moon to see they had a Sunday carvery on offer. On arriving We were greeted by a lovely lady called Sue. Regardless of the restaurant being extremely busy she took time to answer a query I had. The carvery was delicious, and 3 of us had opted for the “ large” roast. Slices of Turkey , Ham and roast beef which were beautifully cooked. Large variety of vegetable dishes alongside Yorkshire puddings , pigs in blankets and very tasty gravy! Even the grandchildren cleared their plates and they have a tendency to be a little bit “ picky”x This was followed by 2 adult deserts , 2 children’s desserts , A coffee a mint tea cider , 2 pints of beer , a cider, and 2 apple juice. To add to the children’s pleasure they realised there was also a soft play for them. I asked for the bill from another very pleasant staff member ( sorry didn’t catch your name) I mentioned a voucher that I had. There was a slight problem deducting this from the bill but at this point , Sue came once more to the rescue. With a final bill of £82 for 4 hungry adults and 2 children we were VERY impressed ! Thank you all for making our visit so pleasant snd yes , we will be back 👍

I went in today to dine at the restaurant and I felt like we had been neglected keeping us for a longer duration to serve food. I'm so disappointed with their service.

Enjoyed a delicious rump steak with onion rings cooked to perfection. The team serving were friendly and efficient without being in your face. Unfortunately they had sold out of Moretti lager but we were offered Madri, which was actually very nice. It was my wife’s birthday and Fran our server surprised her with a birthday card and a box of chocolates. This blew us away. We will not hesitate to recommend to friends.

Exceptional service was received from Graham B last night whilst he served us some amazing cocktails and his service skills absolutely amazing he was good explaining certain aspects of the drinks menu and helped us decide on some amazing cocktails 2 for £10 absolute bargain deffo coming to see him again soon :)

Had a business lunch with colleagues here. Restaurant was busy but managed to find us a nice table in bar area so we could have a lunch meeting. Food came quickly and unlimited coffee, all good value for money.

The coke brought me great pleasure but I was truly unsatisfied with the amount of lasagna left when I was expecting to enjoy my dinner after a long day of traveling. I am sorry to say this was very disappointing.
