There’s an argument that you shouldn’t recommend good place as next time you come there are no free tables. Saying that the bacon sandwich was the best I have had in a long time and the pancakes fresh and cooked to perfection. We’ll be back!

The breakfasts were excellent beautifully cooked using great produce, the best cooked breakfast we all have had in a long time. The staff were very friendly and happy to do some ‘swaps’ with the breakfast items. We would all definitely recommend this hidden gem. It was so good we immediately booked for the following day. Thank you.

We came back to Fine Foods for an afternoon tea treat with my lovely Mum and they did not disappoint! Delicious sandwiches, served with a smoked salmon belini, quiche and fabulous sausage roll. For sweet we had a sumptuous mousse, little raspberry tart, chocolate brownie, lavender biscuit and lemon scone, together with macarons and meringues. All washed down with as much afternoon tea as we could drink. The cafe is lovely with a cosy, friendly atmosphere and the staff are also very friendly and chatty. We will definitely come back and only wished we lived a bit closer!

Fantastic cafe in the heart of Stamford. Luckily we got a table as it was busy and you can tell that it's popular. People just kept coming and trying and you can tell why. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Great coffee. Great food, I ordered the club sandwich and my Wife got Bacon, Brie and Cranberry panini. No complaints from us, keep up the good work.

I visited on a Sunday morning when quite quiet and the young ladies serving were very friendly and my coffee was excellent. My gluten free toast was 'okay' but four very thin and small slices with three small pats of butter and because of this quite expensive. I will definitely go back for a coffee though as it really was excellent. Hot and with alternative 'milk' readily available.

Having arrived early in Stamford ready to walk around we followed our noses to this wonderful cafe for breakfast. Lovely gentleman served us and was very tolerant of our removal or adding of items to the cooked breakfast! The tea was absolutely beautiful, a proper teapot and tea leaves. Our breakfasts came piping hot. Everything on the plate tasted very fresh from the eggs to the sausages that were clearly not of the mass produced variety. The granary seeded toast was out of this world as well. Average sort of breakfast price but definitely not an average breakfast! the toilet was up a couple of steps but spotlessly clean. A lovely experience.

We visited on Saturday and had a lovely lunch, we both had sandwiches' and they were really tasty complete with a side order of chips. One portion to share or even just one sandwich and chips to share would have been fine. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly. I paid the bill and was OK until I realised that I had been charged £2.25 for a very small bottle of diet coke, it was not a standard bottle but the very small one that you sometimes get as a mixer with an alcoholic drink. We also had a different soft drink and that was in a normal sized bottle, only the coke was small. It just took the edge of a very nice lunch.

Once again, great to return for brunch and be greeted by the friendly smiles of Ewelina, alongside Jovita. I loved the hairbands they were wearing - so cool ! The hot chocolate drink was super yummy followed by a lovely asparagus/salad with a delicious yoke on top. Thanks to the Chef once again. My thanks for these two waitresses & for Sam to oversee my table. EXCEPT : VERY HAZARDOUS SAFETY ISSUE. The "open socket & dangling wires" (photo attached). I noted this straight away as it was in full sight. This seriously worried me as it was at close proximity of any members of staff on their path to serve customers. I immediately brought it to their attention & it was confirmed it had already been reported but nothing had been done yet. I sincerely hope this has been repaired to avoid endangering the working members of staff. Monique L.

Very disappointed. Like other reviews very over priced and not that nice. We could have had a two course meal for that price, they must rub their hands together when someone books for afternoon tea.Two sandwiches each, very small. Dry small sausage roll and a skinny piece of quiche. Also some tiny bagel with a slither of cream cheese and salmon on it.The scones where rock hard, tiny pot of jam & cream to share and all the cakes where dry and tasteless. They had loads of nice cakes in a display cabinet but you don’t get them, they looked delicious. We had Prosecco which they didn’t charge us for, that wasn’t the best either.Staff are friendly but service could of been better, had to go up to the counter to ask for our tea. That was hot, but tasteless. This was a birthday gift for my partner so we was very disappointed. We’ve had a few afternoon teas and this was the worst. Will not go again.

We visited today for an afternoon tea at 12pm. The service was prompt and the food was absolutely delicious and more than sufficient in quantity (too much even)! I think the cost at £20 a head was the right price for the quality and quantity of food. Despite the cafe being packed we had excellent service too. Our only gripe, which is very much to our particular taste, is that the selection of food was overwhelmingly sweet. We all would have preferred more of the savoury options as they were utterly delicious. The sweets were lovely- just too many of them for us! Perhaps moving forward the shop could look into two different afternoon tea options - one for people with sweet tooths and one more catered to the savoury fan.

I was recommended this place by a friend for afternoon tea. AsI’ve been busy I’ve only just got round to writing this but I feel I had to given the circumstances. I came in before Christmas for an afternoon tea which was very lovely indeed. The selection of sandwiches and cakes were second to none. Full marks on food! Unfortunately the service was very lacking, the two woman behind the counter seemed so disinterested in work to the point they were both leaning on the counter on their phones for a good 15+ minutes. Whilst enjoying my Afternoon tea, I noticed empty tables with used, dirty crockery and I feel like if I noticed it, who else noticed it. Not the staff members I’m sure! Overall I would come back again for the food as I said I couldn’t fault it. But maybe I’ll try a different day of the week when alternative staff members are working to see if there is any change in service quality. I’ve gone for a three simply for the food. Had I not had that it would have possibly been a one.

Stamford's a lovely town, and there was a nice atmosphere in this place when we popped in for a light lunch, but the service was pretty slow. Good menu. My cappuccino was scalding hot and very milky, and my partner noticed that both the glass her drink came in and the ramekin of mayonnaise were really kind of grubby. So were the ornaments on the shelves next to us. It was New Year's Eve, and we had a lot of luggage with us, or we might have looked elsewhere. Still better than Caffè Nero or any of the other coffee chains, of course.

I felt the choice of food at lunchtime was somewhat limited to a good selection of fillings in various different breads or a choice of quiche and salad. However, I was very pleased with the quality of the food I ordered and the speed of service at a busy time. My disappointment was that the interior of the eating area all appeared a little tired and I was not impressed with the amount of food on the floor around the tables which, no doubt, has been dropped by previous customers.

We usually go to Stamford every few months and on Friday 23rd August we tried The Fine Food Store for lunch. We arrived just after midday and found that the bulk of the menu could only be ordered before 12.00. The choice seemed pretty limited. Never the less being optimists we ordered The Sardine Pate and the Feta Salad. Plus a Banana Milk Shake and an Ginger Biscuit and Marshmallow milk shake. The waitress then came back and said there were no marshmallows - so a vanilla one was a second choice. The food turned up first. The Pate was very pleasant but the salad was quite bland. When we were half way through, the milkshakes turned up and five minutes after that the spoons that were for the milkshakes arrived. This was all for nearly £30.00. It was only after leaving and talking about the meal my partner realised why the salad was not that brilliant - they had forgot the feta cheese for her Feta Cheese Salad! We should have paid more attention!

We sat down and the young man who helped us with the pushchair etc was helpful, we ordered our coffees and a piece of cake, toast and a portion of egg bread with bacon. The coffee and cake arrived promptly and then so did some more customers ordering breakfast too, these people sat down and we watched a couple of them receive food and still waited for ours, my husband went and asked and the young girl went t find out as more breakfasts came out. The gentleman who owns the place then came across and said everyone had ordered breakfast together, which wasn’t the case when we first arrived and surely we should have had ours first and ours was being dealt with. He did apologise as more cooked breakfasts came out. I think our order was either left on the side or had fallen off the order stand but I would have appreciated the truth more as we then waited another ten minutes and had to rush it to pick up my other son from his class.

We were in Stamford for the day and decided to stop by here for Breakfast. I ordered the Vegetarian breakfast and my wife went for the Tuna Sandwiches. The vegetarian was very filling, and comprised scrambled eggs, a few pieces of halloumi, beans, peppers, mushrooms but just the one slice of toast unfortunately. The food was of good quality and my wife also enjoyed her tuna sandwiches which she said were very filling and were served with salad I think. To end, we ordered a slice of cake which we shouldn’t have – not because it is fattening – as the cake had been kept refrigerated so had become hard and brittle. Other than that – a good visit.

There was a wide choice on the main menu with some daily specials also available. When we arrived a member of staff immediately fetched us a highchair. We made our choices and ordered and paid at the counter and the arrived very quickly (very important when you’ve got a hungry toddler!). The food was delicious and reasonably priced, although the drinks were a bit expensive (£4.50 for a smoothie). I needed to change my son’s nappy during our visit and although they don’t have any changing facilities the staff did their best to accommodate us by mopping the toilet floor and making sure it was clean for us. We decided to go to fine foods for the afternoon tea as it looked amazing (book in advance). You are able to sit outside or inside and the teas are seasonal. On arrival we were greeted and told the drinks that we were able to have, the service was quick! Then the picnic table came out and we loved it, we had 3 sandwich fingers each egg mayo, ham and mustard and coronation chicken. Sausage rolls, quiche and a bit of salmon on a savoury scone. We then got a macaron, scone with cream and jam, chocolate brownie, raspberry moose, a mini tart and a blueberry cake with cream cheese icing! It was all very fab, lovely food! The bread was a bit hard because it was warm, but it was really enjoyable! However, when I went up to pay it was £20.00 per person and I’m really not sure why it’s that expensive! See picture attached, I just don’t know why it was so expensive, no alcoholic drink either and if you want that you pay an extra surcharge. But it is a lovely little afternoon tea but pricey.

Love the morning sun and quiet in the garden. The food is delicious, generous portions so beware! The pots of flowers are cheerful and plentiful which all adds to the friendly atmosphere. The secret garden is a treat with excellent coffee.

This is a small cafe, but is clean and the food and service are very good. The staff (all young) were efficient and helpful although they did not tell us there was an outside sitting area which you can not access from inside the cafe. No problem recommending this cafe.

Very off the street cafe place and nothing much to invite you in however the food is good. The freshly squeezed orange juice is an amaxing size and such fantastic value. On a hot summer's day it was delicious as was the dish of the day - makeral pate

I’ve been visiting this cafe off and on for years with friends, family or on my own. It’s ususlly my go to cafe in Stamford. Recent visits have left me disappointed though, I find it’s not a clean anymore; tables, shelving, cutlery I’m served etc. The cafe isn’t always busy so there’s not really an excuse. Today it was difficult to find a table outside that didn’t have crumbs all over it and when I did a chair had several blobs of melted chocolate on it. With so much choice in Stamford it’s important to be on top of your competition.

Called in for a late breakfast. Good range of freshly made food available. We had sausage and bacon baguettes absolutely great! Friendly staff and obviously popular, quite a few tables had been reserved for lunch so it is probably a good idea to book to ensure a table at busy times. There is a wealth of tea rooms and cafes in Stamford and this one certainly did not disappoint.

So happy we found this little gem when we visited Stamford yesterday! It was a cold day and thanks to trip adviser decided to visit! We popped in hoping to get afternoon tea but noticed we needed to pre-book. We spoke to the waiter who had a word with the kitchen and said they would do us a fresh afternoon tea if we could wait 20 minutes! We were so happy at how helpful and friendly the staff were. We went for a walk and returned to sit in the window seats with out afternoon tea brought out to us! It came on a mini picnic table and straight away I was happy because I knew it would make an Instagram worthy picture! We got a selection of sandwiches, scones, sausage rolls and cakes. It was delicious! Staff were helpful and friendly and made us feel welcome! Would definitely visit again!

We went on a dismal Friday afternoon in late April. Our welcome was warm and sunny. Our table clean and set. We ordered our drinks and waited for our food to arrive. What a wow factor when it appeared - looked good, exciting and very appealing. Good variety of savoury items - looked similar to what other establishments provide BUT the flavours were very different. The sweet shelf was fantastic including some wonderful little pudds and meringues. A wonderful afternoon tea slightly spoiled by the cost £20 is an awful lot to pay.

I always enjoy going to brunch here. The breakfast menu is delicious. Very generous & not all just about the full English. The vegetarian breakfast, smoke salmon and gluten free bread is a cut above the rest. The coffee is also very good. Excellent service every time. I’d recommend as the place to go for breakfast & catch up with friends or a relaxed morning with your other half!

Afternoon tea for a birthday treat. The food was lovely with a nice assortment of sweet and savoury items. I was quite shocked at the £20 per person cost. Unfortunately I compare to The George Hotel which isn’t much more. At The George the sandwiches are replenished as are the drinks and the ambience is peaceful and comfortable rather than noisy and cramped! Staff at Fine Foods not particularly interested whether the customer has enjoyed their food.

Myself and my partner visit The Fine Food Store regularly, it is by far the best place in Stamford for breakfast/brunch. The Avocado on toast is my absolute favourite!

We visited after reading reviews. We all enjoyed our picnic table afternoon tea and added a bottle of bubbles to help with our celebration. On arrival our reserved table was the only empty one! Busy place! Staff all friendly. Lovely atmosphere. We enjoyed taking our time savouring the food whilst we chatted. It was all delicious but The apricot sausage roll was my fave. A box was given to us each to pop our remaining cakes in to take home and enjoy.... for me I didn’t get a look in as the kids soon spotted them. Thank you Fine Food Store.

We visited this outlet after reading reviews and a recommendation and we weren't disappointed. There was a selection of sandwiches which were lovely and a homemade sausage roll. The scones were chocolate and orange and definitely worth trying them served with the orange marmalade as this was delicious. The cake selection was ok. My only slight criticism is it would have been nice to have been offered some more drinks during our tea rather than at the end when we had finished it. Would I visit again, yes and would I recommend, yes. A lovely tea with plenty of sweet treats

We had afternoon tea last Sunday it was a Christmas present the staff where friendly and helpful . Disappointed no scotch egg, scones dry (over cooked and hard) it would have been better to have put another cake on instead of the over cooked scones the jelly had no flavour .We have had many afternoon teas at hotels and sad to say this was the worse .Presentation unique but table not really big enough with cups etc..

Really enjoyed.the afternoon tea. Great to be offered any hot drink included in the price instead of the usual tea or filter coffee neither of which I drink. Going back with my daughters for Mother's Day. Can't wait!

Best eggs Florentine ever. Poached eggs were perfectly cooked, husbands English breakfast was piping hot with great quality sausage. Nicely done.

Great little pub, with excellent food. The 6ft Chef is amazing, although he did bore us slightly with stories of his darts and pool prowess. Staff amazing also. Landlady is exceptional, just has a slight dictator vibe. Would highly recommend and will 100% come again. Weekend drinks are also meant to be a fun and social evening.

Lovely beer garden, great place to meet with friends for a drink. Although pretty expensive. However, you pay for the atmosphere aswell. Can go winter and summer and sit outside as they have heaters!

Welcoming, efficient, thoughtful touches, great coffee, good menu choices, a great place all round, always good to see a wide range of customers.
