Absolutely loved this pub . Really friendly and I thought all staff were excellent Food hot and tasty I would definitely visit here again

This has to be the best pub I've ever been to in my life. The manager Rachel, the chef & owner Jake and all the staff went over and above to ensure our Sunday dinner for my father in law's birthday treat happened, despite us being delayed. The level of service is second to none, so caring and considerate towards my elderly father in law who was struggling that day. I can honestly say this is the best pub I've ever been to. Thank you so much to all the staff highly recommended excellent THANK YOU 😊

Still the same 5 years on, good beer ,good food, good atmosphere great staff.

Excellent food, well presented and fresh. Especially loved the crab salad. The welcome and service was very good and friendly. Will come again even though visiting the area for s short time.

We love this place so very much and do come when we can do the landlord Jake a Rachel we're told me and Melanie had got engaged to be married and we were having a meal and got this and this is what this beautiful pub and beautiful people are about and we got this at our table xxx

We were looking for somewhere to eat on a very damp day with our two little dogs.When we searched on google this came up as dog friendly.Only outside is dog friendly like any other pub.Dog friendly means they allow dogs inside the premises sometimes in special areas.Not this one,if you have dogs you must sit outside.

Were do I start the staff never have I been anywhere were the staff are so good and pleasant and the atmosphere is brilliant they have beautiful pub inside and outside there is a huge under cover area with TVs heaters and also a serving window for if you want to sit outside in any weather and then a beautiful beer garden for the summer and then the food is second to none and the Sunday dinners are the best I've tasted and now I go for Sunday dinner when ever me and the wife get chance. And it's all set in a beautiful and friendly village of longbenigton. So if you get the chance to go then do so and the landlord Jake and the manager Rachel will be happy to greet you. And well done to all at the royal oak. X

Dogs allowed outside not inside.Great when it’s cold and raining and you want food!

Lovely beer garden, great place to meet with friends for a drink. Although pretty expensive. However, you pay for the atmosphere aswell. Can go winter and summer and sit outside as they have heaters!

As a frequent visitor to The Royal Oak who enjoys taking advantage of their rather large and excellent beer garden, I've found a recent comment rather puzzling. The reviewer claims the establishments website says they're dog friendly (a conundrum in itself as they do not currently have a website) and then goes on to claim they're not dog friendly at all. I wouldn't normally take the time to dispute someone else's experience, but I found this particular comment to be both unfounded and unfair, especially as their main complaint is that they couldn't bring their dog inside - an entirely reasonable expectation when a dog 'inside' creates multiple hazards and safety issues for both staff, customers and itself. Dog friendly doesn't automatically mean they can access all areas. The owner is clearly a huge dog lover and provides ample facilities for dogs out in the beer garden including a large, well heated and sheltered patio (particularly pretty at night when all the lights are on!), water bowls and an absolutely fantastic dog barrel dispenser (pictured!) Many people in Long Bennington use these facilities most happily with their canine friends on a regular basis, myself and friends included. As long as you're not attempting to sit outside in short-sleeves during the British spring time, the outdoor heaters provide ample warmth for those looking to enjoy a drink and a natter in the company of their dogs. My personal experience has been nothing but positive - friendly, warm staff, great menu, great atmosphere both inside and out. Highly recommend!

Fresh food, well cooked, dog friendly. We meet up in Sherwood , walk the dogs and have a great lunch at the Royal Iak

I have not been here for long time but today was lovely a woman on her own I walked in lovely atmosphere no strange looks bar staff lovely food menu looked great but couldn't stay for meal a great smoke area even though I don't smoke you could sit comfortably with friends that do over all great pub Christine wood

Amazing! The food was great value and delicious, better than many restaurants, beautifully presented. My husband's stake was sublime. The atmosphere and decor are warm and cosy. The staff is chill and very attentive. We already said we'll have to visit again.

We had a most delicious Sunday lunch here, our hostess was most welcoming and the young staff couldn't have been more attentive. We were served quickly, without being rushed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Royal Oak 😊

We visited for a drink - unfortunately dogs aren't allowed inside but there is a covered outdoor area with heaters.

We had a meal on Saturday night (7th Oct 23) we all had something of the chefs specials board and the food was absolutely incredible!! The staff we're extremely polite and lovely, the landlord went above and beyond for us. Highly recommended this pub, you won't be disappointed!! Thank you for being so kind and lovely and making our weekend perfect.

A great pub just off the A1, the Sunday roast was lovely with more veg than you can eat, a very nice amount of meat with each meal and all very good quality cooked well. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend and if you are on the A1 its only a couple of minutes drive off with much better food than you are going to get in a services.

Went for midweek evening meal for 2. Brought our dog with us which meant we had to eat in the beer garden. Food was good, reasonable sized portion. Service was quick. Difficult to comment on atmosphere as we weren't really in it! Would recommend if in the area and want to bring your dog with you

Had a couple of pints of banks amber really good , also had steak &Guinness pie mash and peas absolutely yum couldn't fault it best pie I've had for a long time.

Called in for Sunday lunch on the off-chance of getting a table. Although very busy, staff were welcoming and accommodating. We had a superb meal and would recommend this venue but would advise pre-booking!.

We cake down for a horse show at Arena UK and decided to find a nice pub We telephoned to make sure they could accommodate us and our little horse box. The lady on the phone was really friendly and able to tell my fussy veggie mum what her options were This is a really pretty pub, it has kirb appeal and the outside area is very well thought out, with an outside bar area and little gazebos above tables l We were seated in a little snug area we noticed that there were over 18 areas which was a nice touch The food was absolutely delicious! Huge portions with yummy chips and salad The onion rings were massive and very tasty indeed As you will see the dessert was incredible, we were full so shared it Toilets were clean and well maintained Waitresses were very friendly and attentive Defo check this place out!

Excellent meal at a lovely village pub which has lovely staff (nothing was too much trouble) and the prices were reasonable as well. Great place. We're not local but will be back again. This was our 4th visit in 4 years and it's been like this on every occasion.

Highly overrated. Food was ok, nothing more. If you visit with children you will be made to feel very unwelcome.

Since they altered it I have not been. A friend and I went over one when it reopened. And couple sat outside as we were going in and they turned to us and don't think we would be welcome in the pub. So we walked away and l was born in the village.
