Miller and Carter in South Kesteven

Great birthday meal, good service and food!

My husband and I are staying near Grantham for our wedding anniversary and visited this Miller and Carter. We were greeted by well-mannered reception staff and seated quickly. A waitress promptly arrived at our table, but we were not ready to order at that time. It did take her a while to get back to us, but when she did, she was friendly and efficient. The food seemed to take quite long to come, but it was relatively busy. When the food came, my husband’s steak was overdone for medium, but at request, it was changed. We found the chips to be quite salty and the onion loaf was a little soggy in comparison to its usually crispy texture. The decor is quite dated here and I believe it could do with an overhaul to improve the overall ambience to give a better dining experience. However, I do believe the staff team try hard to make your dining experience pleasant.

Erin looked after us brilliantly, and the restaurant was fine. However, the food was all covered in grease and oil, and even as I write this 30 mins after leaving the restaurant it’s coating my mouth. I have never had vegetables served that are swimming in oil - absolutely no need. The fries and roasts were the same, squeezing them had oil seeping out. Combine that with mash that had soft cheese on top, the steaks (beautifully cooked) that had a layer of oil AND knobs of herb butter on them, the whole meal was overwhelmed by grease and oil. It’s a steak house, I get it, but there was no excuse for everything having oil or grease on it. This wasn’t a cheap Sunday meal at £40/head for 3 people. I expected much more.

Very cosy atmosphere, with great service (only one time have they gotten confused) and great food, although it's a rare occasion I'm eating steak and I'm not a chef so I can't really judge. Recommended for any family eith children of age 5+.

We had such a wonderful experience thanks to Nicola! When I made the reservation, I requested for "Happy Birthday" to be written on the dessert plate for my husband, and I was pleasantly surprised that they actually did it something that many restaurants usually overlook. Nicola made the celebration extra special by singing Happy Birthday to my husband, which really made our night memorable. The food was also excellent the filet mignon was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. Nicola’s attention to detail and amazing service truly made a difference. Highly recommend!

My coeliac daughter was treated really well. Our waitress, Dani, was helpful and knowledgeable, volunteering info without prompting. It made our whole lunch very enjoyable indeed.

Well what a fantastic find 👏, we have never been to one of these restaurants before but decided to book as we were in the area and what a fantastic experience we have had. We ordered the butchers block after cairen who was looking after us had explained the whole experience. This has been the best steak we have ever eaten and an amazing experience with fantastic staff. Well done we will be returning 😀

Great meal this evening, celebrating our sons birthday. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and the ribs were absolutely delicious. Thanks to Alex who looked after us and did a marvellous job, it's only her first week but it didn't show one bit.

This was one of my favourite places to get a meal. The food was amazing and I ordered a Miller's Stake house Dirty Burger and a Chocolate Brownie. Food was made by Chef Darby and the server called Megan, who was very friendly and helped us enjoy our experience 😊😊 10/10, we are coming back.

I went to this lovely place about a week ago to try it out and I had an amazing time! The food was very good 😊😊 and the dessert was the best (I have the brownie). My server Megan was very nice and always smiling and was overall a superstar, and made our day even better 😁 I rate 100/10 😄 DEFFINITELY coming back here again.

My partner took me for my Birthday and Wow! What a lovely time we had…We had Starter and Main Our food was cooked to perfection and Alin our waiter was superb and nothing was too much trouble he was such a friendly soul, he recommend what steak to have based on our preference. The restaurant was clean and tidy and lovely and warm! We will definitely be back in the future.

27/03/73 we dined at Miller and Carter Steakhouse Grantham. 4 of us booked easily on the app and we were celebrating our mum's 80th birthday. We were greeted on entering and shown to our table which was comfortable and felt luxurious. Our steak expert Dani was very professional and attentive to anything we asked for. Dani was friendly and went out of her way to make our lunch experience memorable. The food was amazing we ordered the 7oz rump steak off the lunch two or three course menu it was amazing. Thankyou Dani for making our experience so wonderful for mum she had a great time and was so pleased with her birthday desert as were we!

Best food I’ve had for a long time

Food was lovely. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. Soph our sever was great and Olga cooked our meal perfectly

Ordered Olives when I sat down with my first drink. They didn't arrive. Asked after 10 minutes and the young waitress said they were busy and 10 minutes was too short a time to expect food to come out. She didn't understand the concept of Olives with a pre dinner drink. Having just returned from Spain I was so disappointed to see how badly our UK staff are trained and have an understanding of how a restaurant works! When the Olives did arrive, just before my main meal, they were very poor quality, breaking apart, very little taste. Looked like something out of a jar. My steak was good, the dessert was excellent. The Olives were taken off the bill. It's OK but I do wanted to be so much more amazed by the experience for the premium price. But wasn't. Shame.
