What a hidden gem !!! Never been here before but my son and I went along for lunch and had a fantastic meal . Attentive staff and the waitress that served us paid my son a compliment about his manners which made my day proud dad moment . I had the mega breakfast and it was cooked to perfection with lovely fluffy poached eggs and decent beans (not cheap catering beans ) spot on blank pudding sausage and bacon and crispy hash browns , no grease on the plate to be found , I was really impressed

We have had lunch here probably once a month for some year, and enjoyed the food and friendly atmosphere. The view is great, although I find the the chairs uncomfortable. This time there was a new menu. We always enjoy some salad with a panini or toastie or sandwich. However we were told this was not available - all these options are served only with crisps and coleslaw. Hardly a healthy option! So my husband chose a BLT; (bacon lettuce, tomato) ---- evidently they did have salad! We did not eat the crisps. My husband had a cold drink, and I had tea and I asked for an extra cup for him to have a little tea also. Not Allowed! I don't think we will return. There are other pleasant places to eat in Spalding.

Great Breakfast, sausage bacon & eggs were all good quality. Good selection of food for the price. Friendly service & nice atmosphere.

This place has now been closed for over two years! So not exactly worth a visit. lol For a beer try the pub over the road and for a meal try The Chestnuts at the other end of the village.

We were impressed by the quality of the chips and burgers we had, plus the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only down side is possibly that the menu of food available is a bit limited especially for vegetarians, but none the less would recommend a visit if only to sample the chips.

My hubby having recently had major surgery, and for the first time feeling able to get up and out. We were looking for a relaxing place less than 30 minutes from home so decided on the Ship at Pinchbeck. On the river Glen, an old Thatched pub set in its own grounds with lots of parking, what a choice we made. Dave our barman was welcoming and accomodating, and Lucy our waitress was sunny and quick to humour. We whiled away two happy hours on too many brilliant starters!! Crunchy pork belly bites, tender chicken strips (so tender!!) and yummy coconut crunch king prawns! What a treat and virtually buy two get one free! We almost regretted having the main courses....till they came out. Lamb shank for my husband and chicken supreme for me, both wonderfully cooked with a varied range of veg...almost perfect. Then almost but not quite ready to roll to the car, a quick look at the sweet board just to see? Oh lemon cake soaked in lemon syrup and gin....oh no way!! Of course it was yes way! And I am sure that my cheeky question, is it iced? Encouraged a response from from the chef. I can honestly say it was the best sweet I have had in many years of trying pubs and resturants all over Lincs. and further, well done chef!! Now it is your fault I can barely keep my eyes open as I write this, but as I drift off, at least I can dream of the meal we can have next time we come back....night night and thanks all for such a welcome treat!
