Anglia Motel and Restaurant in South Holland

We are coming here in August with the Social Group we belong to. We came to have a look around at the facilities and had something to eat. The food at the cafe is really nice. I had a sausage sandwich, and my husband had a bacon baguette. I'm really impressed with the accommodation, as the bungalows look really. I think this place will be a hit with other group members who are coming to the event in August

Just called on way home from Yarmouth for a drink and a sandwich. Good cafè. Loved the military vechiles in the car park. Made the visit even better. I love reading about ww11 so this to me was heaven. Plus good food and friendly staff. Now for the drive home to Doncaster. Will definitely call again.

Ideally located for taking a much needed break during a long drive. The egg baps are delicious and so is the coffee. Staff are very helpful too. Most importantly, it is dog friendly! Some very interesting military exhibits outside too.

Food was nice, the restaurant sitting area was terrible. It need some SERIOUS repair...

Great place to stop on the way to our holiday in Skegness. A decent range of food and staff were super nice and friendly. Prices are on the high side but as everything else was top notch it wasn't a deal breaker. Been there about 4 times now and consistently good.

Called in here for a bacon egg and fried onion sandwich the price on the board said bacon and egg £4.95 they charged us £6.95 after I paid I asked if the price was right pointing out the £4.95 price aware that the onions would be extra the rude chubby lady behind the counter said yes we charge £2 for fried onion on it we asked for it in a bap and it came in bread when we said it was wrong they changed it for us but once again the chubby woman said I don't think I'm going deaf yet the whole experience from our 1st meeting with her was rude and arrogant we have had many years running pubs in the hospitality industry and this is one of the rudest staff members we have ever met

If you like the smell of chemicals, cheap quality but overpriced food and terrible coffee, this is the place for you.

Needs to improve on quality and stop leaving passively agressive signs in car park and indeed on the menu.. ( give more options) . Customers have evolved to expect choice and express options from a menu. Not everybody wants propaganda about a charity pushed on them either. Government is responsible for looking after veterans and those in the military. Not do gooders wanting to be looked at as a hero. Inflated egotistical owner.

The Anglia Motel is a curious place. Artillery in the car park, jumble sale on the inside and a range of expansive rooms and plastic seating in the restaurant. Motel onsite too with shower facilities. Guess it's an absolute oasis for tired long-distance drivers. Good parking too.

Great home cooked food lovely mug of tea and a very nice place to rest before contuning on your travels

We are so sorry to have to say we have eaten here alot unfortunately we won't be returning as it has gone down hill we aren't sure if they have changed the cheif but the selection of veg is very poor the mash potatoes are not proper its very sad as the owners are really lovely people the last two times that we have been has not been very good at all we won't be returning

Great place to take the family. Lots on the menu and on display for dessert. We have been going for years to eat and camp here. They also have chalets to rent. This is alot more than just a truck stop.

Popped in for a meal, bar was shut but they let us in with the dog into the cafe to be by the heating. Plenty of choice.

Great war memorabilia inside and out (please dont forget to donate) Cafe is huge with loads of seating available. Breakfasts baps were good would definitely visit again. The carpark is also massive with plenty of parking for cars and coaches.

I didn’t realise this was a hotel. The area for hot drinks is very basic, but the prices don’t match, but you are a captive audience.

Just a quick stop en route to the Thursford Spectacular. Not many places that have their own Chieftain Main Battle Tank!

I visited this place on my way home from dropping a friend off in kings Lynn I had a 3 hour drive home and needed some food the staff had just shut down the kitchen for the night as they were due to close but, had on heart they decided that they would still make me a full meal I can not express how grateful I was that night being for having a real meal, the staff are a true credit to the company

Nice quite location with ample parking for HGV'S if you get in early. Toilet and shower facilities kept locked and in good condition. Large dinning area/restaurant with TV to watch whilst eating. Lots of War memorial and fundraising for our Heroes. Brica Brac stools on entrance. There's even a tank and artillery battery and spitfire shell in the car park.

The staff are always helpful and enjoy banter with customers. It is little expensive though for what it is. A transport cafe

This place is a complete dump it's dusty and unclean and smells food is poor quality for a high price and the old Rottweiler behind the counter needs to learn some manners .

It's very nostalgic place. Service is very nice and friendly and the food home cooked, pies, chilli etc home made and very reasonably priced. We stop here all the time on the way to London and wouldn't stop anywhere else. Well worth it

Stopped off on the way to an event I was going to Never again will I set foot in this place its like walking into an a place that's been abandoned for several decades! It's Foisty and grubby the woman behind the counter is extremely rude to customers and miserable and has no kind of people skills whatsoever and £9 for a poor quality large breakfast with only a few items is a rip-off.

Heard about what you do for veterans!! This is on my bucket list to come visit, one of everything and will recommend to foodies alike. Hope to see you soon

Just had chicken curry and chips and what should of been a naan but was more like cardboard and the curry was tinned curry I know because I've had the same stuff before terrible food and the restaurant resembles a charity shop I'm sorry but I won't stop again it used to be so good here in days gone by

If there was a negative star option I would choose that. The prices for most things are high. The ingredient quality and products are cheap. Most of the dinner consisted of processed product. Peas were processed and tasted like they were left over from the war. Nothing was homemade or fresh. Extremely disappointed and a waste of money. Staff are not friendly, no smile or any qualities of good hospitality hosts. Negative and dull atmosphere. Will not be making recommendations or returning. Would of been better getting a ready meal from the shop. At least you expect that to be rubbish.

Good wholesome grub, worth stopping for lunch if you're on a long trip through the area. Very pleased to see they have an area for caravan parking.

Needing a pit stop from a long drive this is it. Hearty meals are available and you can buy all kinds of snacks and produce to take along with you.

The worst experience ever!! Had to get a code for the loos . Probably the rudest lady ever just barked a few numbers at us. The whole place is RETRO but not in a good way. Incredibly dated in every way apart from the price list. Our food was beyond awful and we sent it back barely eaten. Even the grumpy lady noticed and offered a refund when pressed. The burgers were so bad I’ve been out off burgers ever since. Even 2 months later I can’t face a burger which says it all!!! The food was probably the worst I’ve ever had and my daughters agreed. The strange car boot style table of old stuff at the back added to the bizarre atmosphere and to top it all of you want to have a photo with the tank parked at the front you have to pay!! AVOID . If not, you’ve been warned…..

Stopped for refreshments and the toilet whilst on a recent day trip with a local coach company. The unwelcome 'no public toilets' was the first thing we saw, with the instruction to purchase something from the cafe in order to gain the toilet access code. However given the queue and time allowed it was ridiculous. The outside isn't very welcoming and inside not much better to the point we didn't purchase anything and went back to the coach. The whole place needs upgrading.

The service I received was very rude , I asked for a full English breakfast only to be told the breakfasts they serve can only have 3,4 or 5 food items on the breakfast.I can name 10 items you'd have on a breakfast off the top of my head. Instead of a small,medium or large option like everywhere else serves. After driving over 180 miles you just want to eat a full breakfast , not to have a snotty server talk down to you as if your stupid. Then charge £22 for the privilege. To top it all off the person I was with IS a veteran from the Parachute Regiment , that's the only reason we stopped...after seeing the tank outside. Disgusted at the attitude of the woman who served us. Will not be going back there again!!

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant, and toilets were spotlessly clean. The atmosphere was lovely. We called after our sons graduation day in Lincoln on our way home back to Norfolk, and it was a welcome break. We had a simple brekfast which was lovely.

we are hear today for the pow-wow and dinner it is great to be back at the pow-wow to see amd meet old and new friends and to sing and danmce to the drums and to see all in there reagalia and smiles is great all differant tribes come over from u s a i have many years ago bean adopted by the blackfoot tribe from montana u s a i am a proud warrior called pita

Didn't stay in a room just called in for food. Excellent mug of tea, I could have drank several more lols. Perfect for a halfway stop to the coast from the Midlands.

Having never been here before I was expecting a physical key and didn’t know what she meant; there was no explanation. I asked again for the key only for her to say “I told you, xxxx number.” My jaw dropped at how rude she was. We swiftly left and will not be back. Avoid

Sadly this is one of the worst stops I have ever encountered. Avoid unless absolutely desperate. It is stuck in the 1950s, before the 1950s got cool. Food is poor, drinks are poor, chairs are poor... This needs a lot of work to be worth a visit.

My pregnant fiance asked to go to the toilet and they wouldn’t let her go she was going to buy something but got spoken to really rude would not recommend rude staff!!!

Staff are the rudest people I have ever come across, customer service is absolutely shocking, one lady behind the till that was serving us, shhh’d me when asking if the did pre order. Wouldn’t recommend and I will not be coming back due to one of the ladies

Queue for food took a long time, but its like a museum with all the old army machinery inside and out, including a real tank.

We dropped off here on the way back from our holiday in Norfolk. Parking is free, albeit awkward to park as the arrows marked out are confusing. You will need to make a purchase before being able to use the toilet. The sign outside doesn't specify how much that purchase had to be, but a purchase non the less to get the code for the loo. Not great when you have a bladder the size of a peanut and have to wait to get served. 🙄 We did not use the rooms so therefore cannot comment on them.

A very busy stop with a 50's holiday camp style cafe. That's fine in itself, but the fact that you had to make a purchase before they would give you the code to the toilet was ridiculous, and quite frankly a rip off!

This is in a good location. Lots of variety of foods all at reasonable cost. I had breakfast (£8.95), with added black pudding (£2) which was hot and enjoyable. I didn't have to wait long, either. No napkins are available. There are toilets, but you require a code to access these, which is given to you once you've purchased something. They aernt incredibly clean, but I've seen worse. Staff are rude, and you are treated as cattle. Manners cost nothing. Dogs are welcomed, but in the bar area.

Not welcoming at all, got shouted at for using the wrong door, the female taking the order was ignorant & very rude, no customer care at all, will certainly inform friends & family of our experience here, bad end to what had been a lovely weekend

Stopped off after camping weekend for breakfast, found the female at the counter taking the food orders ignorant & very rude, no customer service at all, not very welcoming, we got shouted at for using the wrong door to go through to the back where we could sit with the dog, very very disappointed & will certainly tell friends & family of our experience

Only stopped for breakfast which was delivered quickly well cooked and plenty of it. Will return.

Stopped off on way home from norfolk broads to hull was very good that it was for our armed forces vetrans and all the fallen heroes well worth dropping in

Stopped here on our way to Sandringham Great menu but unfortunately when we ordered food the cashier was having a conversation with a colleague so didn't get any food (such a shame)
