Lovely old pub with amazingly low prices which compare with what we had in 1990's around London. Great beers and even Mild which can rarely be seen anywhere in the south. Wine very limited , Red, White or Rose, spirits all by the brewery but fine under half the price of the south and a lovely atmosphere.

Nice. Pleasant friendly place for a drink. We were there on a quiet Wed evening, around 7. We enjoyed the quiet but for the sake of the pub, it needed to be a lot busier. Good IPA. Feels like a real old part of Spalding's history.

I ordered gammon steak. The gammon was so tough the knife could only just cut it but it was impossible to chew. I pointed this out but instead of some sort of apology I received rude and sarcastic comments especially from the kitchen member of staff. The meal was eventually exchanged for macaroni cheese which was just about acceptable. This used to be the most popular pub in Spalding but has been going downhill for a long time. No wonder the restaurant was empty.

Booked for seven people to have a meal. Surprisingly was asked to pre order. Wasn’t all that impressed but I contacted all my friends got their orders and emailed it to them using reply to the menu they sent me. We turned up and barmaid looked confused and said there were no kitchen staff on. Landlord came to see us and said he’d not received email I showed it to him on my phone and also explained it had been done by using reply to ensure address correct. They had my booking my phone number yet if as he stated didn’t receive email how come didn’t contact me? It boils down to no staff on so no meals myself and friends some had traveled 15 miles. Me and my closest crackheads came for a few drinks which ended up to be a lot of drinks. We was really shocked by the look of the place it really is an old fashioned pub with a wood burning fireplace. We was greeted by the barman , or as we called him by the end of the night "Guv'na" who very friendly. We never been to this pub and was pleasantly surprised it didn't serve the usually "wetherspoons dribble".It had locally brewed beer and it tasted fantastic , i got a round for me and the boys 5 of us and it came to £9.25 ?!?! BARGINE. So it goes with out saying we spent the night there, we all got abit merry played a round of darts and pool. Joe got so drunk because the booze was so good and cheap he ended up sitting next to a dog (An actual dog not a pig) and was gently caressing its ear and telling it all his life problems, which was lovely, its been awhile since he had some physical contact with a man , woman or beast in that matter in all honesty and were not good friend to him at all we tear him apart 97.8% time were with him.The other crackhead, he's not really a depresso espresso like Joe is "Fish" decided to actually look at the drinks menu , and hes a bit funny , we think he bats for the other team, you know a woofta, backs against the walls boys, kinda lad.He camply mentioned "OOoo boys they do FFRRRUIITTTYYY beer". To me response was "Behave your son i'm not having any of that horrible shyt". He brought a bottle of cheery "Beer" which was actually to most expensive part of the night as it came to a whopping £2.95?!?. I dabbled and gave it go it wasn't that bad tasted like cherry aid.Still tho not my cuppa tea.At the end of the night we all thought it would be a great idea to drink port and lemonade , if i knew it was gonna taste like vimto , i would have declined but i soldiered on !! I brought the drink ill bloody drink it as i say.I brought some nuts that helped the situation as well.So overall 4.5 stars**** didn't give it five stars because i didn't eat there, but get a bonus half a star for having a parrot in the dining room.

It’s coming to the end of the year & even I can’t justify a flight somewhere different when there’s still so much family to see & things to do before New Years, so went to the White Horse in Spalding. Was immediately greeted with ‘have you got tickets’ and then took the next five minutes trying to get from the bar lad what they were for. A meat raffle (I’ve tried it, terrible chat up line) apparently. We respectfully declined. Ordered a pint of light mild and half a diet coke, but it’s not coke, or Pepsi, it’s cola... tasted like cola bottles & super sweet. He said it was basically Tesco value cola, not far wrong. The ale wasn’t too bad, tried a pint of dark mild after. Cost about £2 for the pint and £0.37 for the cola so didn’t break the bank. There’s lots of steps about and the toilets are up a couple for those that don’t do them, I didn’t get any WiFi but the facilities were clean. No music so not much atmosphere, nice open fire in the middle next to the bar & plenty of alcoves to sit in.

Went for a snack lunch with friends visiting from Australia. While the food was okay and the young girl serving behind the bar was friendly enough, the lady who served the food was one of the most miserable people you could wish to meet. She never smiled and was completely detached from her customers, dumping the food down on the table. We explained to our friends that this was not normally how people were treated in pubs in this country. It was an experience we will not be repeating.

We often drive out through the wilds of Lincolnshire just to visit the White Horse. The organic lager is so clean and refreshing it's almost as good as a German beer. Popped in for lunch, well what a find, the Old Brewery Bitter from the cask, at well less than two quid a pint was absolutely gorgeous, I think it's a tied pub that serves only it's brewers wares as all the beers, lagers and spirits are of the same ye olde Yorkshire Brewery brand, my wife had the (house only) Gin, which was also excellent. We decided to stay for a snack, I had a burger, she a cheese and salad sandwich, both came with skin on fries, both were presented well and tasted great, good value too, two drinks each and food and change from £20. Well worth a visit if you need a beer and food. Cheers ye olde white horse.

I was in Spalding and wanted a quick snack before a meeting with the family lawyer. I had walked passed this hostelery many times, but although the first time was in the 1950s, I had never been in. (We left when I was 7 years, but I did return periodically, but pub lunches were never part of the schedule.) The exterior looks gorgeous and inside it is equally 'olde worlde'. I ordered scampi and chips - light and quick. I waited and waited..... when I asked, it was explained that there was only one frier working. When it arrived, the chef served it personally and apologised for the wait. OK, so far so good. However, what is normally a bog standard pub fare was from standard, instead there was a WOW factor. OK the scampi were frozen, but the peas were fresh (served in a small dish) and the chips were out of this world. The best I have ever tasted - and boy was it reasonable (unlike the lawyer's fees!!).

Came today Sunday 23rd August as it was recommended by another Spalding public house to try the food here. The bar was busy which usually gives the indication that this is a good place to drink and dine. The young lady behind the bar was helpful when I was ordering food and we sat outside to eat. The food is reasonably priced and the menu isn't over the top, what you see is what you get.We sat outside in the beer garden and I love the smoking and non-smoking areas, was a nice touch.Ordered 2 pies and a macaroni cheese, they were well presented and I especially loved the homemade chips. The pie had a lovely crust and they wasn't mean on the chicken and ham filling. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal, definitely better than the last meal I had elsewhere in Spalding! This one was cooked nice, came out on time and the staff were all pleasant.Keep up the good work, would recommend Ye Old White Horse.

Don’t feel bad about passing this place by - there’s plenty more to choose from just down the road ! Very disappointing breakfast. Coffee stale and very weak despite being described as Strong and Not
