Pulled in to buy a drink and use the bathroom, as I prefer to support small businesses rather than stop at services, the guy on the till looked offended that I’d even walked into his shop and questioned if I was coming into the tea room as I went over to use the toilet, weirdly the family in front of me who also used the toilet wasn’t questioned. Won’t be stopping here again. Edit: We didn’t shut the door as there was a chap coming out behind us, so not sure what the owner is on about. Clearly this is a common issue as he’s not sure which customer has left this review, very telling.

Quite disappointing. Arrived at 2.15 looking for a late light lunch. We were served very brusquely and when our food arrived we were not given or offered any cutlery. Coffee was instant. At 2 30 on the dot all the waiting staff made a rush for the car park and headed off at which point it was clear that this "tea shop" closes for tea! A man came round obviously locking things up at 2.40 so it was clearly time to go. And not return.

Excellent location just off A17 near Holbeach. Very charming slightly old fashioned tea room that has plenty of tables etc for customers, proper oil cloths on most tables, always a good sign in my book. Service was excellent and very efficient with no pressure to eat quickly or move on. Food was freshly cooked and superb quality. Table combination caters for all group sizes. Only suggestion would be to make lunch time menu available earlier than 12 o'clock. Very friendly atmosphere, will certainly visit again soon.

Oh my goodness. What an awful place with the most rude and unhelpful staff we have ever encountered. The gentleman (I use the phrase loosely) accused us of using the place as a toilet stop when we in fact we were visiting to buy some bits for the garden. I think he basically suggested if we needed the loo we should have a sneaky pee in his shrubs ???🙈 It's served as a reminder to never take the good people of the world for granted so thank you for that lesson good sir. (I use the word 'good' loosely too ) Oh..and I've never written this before but here we go....if I could give this place no stars I would but you can't. So I begrudgingly have to give one.

Don’t feel bad about passing this place by - there’s plenty more to choose from just down the road ! Very disappointing breakfast. Coffee stale and very weak despite being described as Strong and Not for the Faint Hearted. Waitress put another measure in on top of coffee already getting cold ! Bacon was warm and strangely soft and pale. Sausages not meaty. And the best bit ? I thought my egg was superb. Tasty, fresh, golden and perfectly cooked. Definitely not worth it though.

Whenever I travel to or from Norfolk I make a point of stopping off at this gem of a tea room, whether it be for a cuppa and a snack, or a hearty home cooked lunch. It’s located just off the A17 and is well worth a stop. Today, having had breakfast at the start of my journey I had a cup of delicious hot chocolate and a slice of lemon meringue pie. Naughty, but very, very nice. I can highly recommend the cooked meals , very fresh and tasty. The staff are always welcoming and pleasant . This little tea rooms is somewhere I have visited a few times, but today I was very shocked at the treatment I received to say the lease! I ordered a mug of hot milk and a meal, I was surprised to be charged for a coffee ( I always drink hot milk with a charge elsewhere between £1- £1.50 so queried the £2.75 as very expensive). The lady was very apologetic saying she would have to speak to someone! A man came in and asked what the problem was, he was very rude informing me it was the price! He shouted at me telling me it’s a family business and I was just trying to get out of paying! I informed him I’d pay for milk but not coffee as I didn’t have coffee ( apparently they charge £1.50 for hot water!!!) He raised his voice and kept telling me I knew it was £2.75 as it was on bill, I explained I did not see the bill until I had finished and was going to pay! He then told me in a very loud voice “you won’t be coming back here will you” no I won’t! “Good cause we don’t want you to”. My advise to this very rude man Very small business well if you treat customers in this way you will end up with none. He shouted as I left “you will probably put this on trip adviser make sure you put it on as it happened”. Well here it is!!!

I would have liked more choice in the shop area, the cafe food for me was just okay, shame they don't do an all day breakfast so I settled for a plain cheese panini which had hardly any cheese in and it wasn't a proper panini, it was not cooked on a panini machine as it wasn't flattened and no grill marks, my husband had the steak pie and he was very happy with his as it had plenty of steak inside, the staff when we walked in at first were a bit abrupt but then came around at the end maybe with a tip in mind, would I stop there again no definatley not

I'd read the reviews about this tea room and thought surly it can't be that bad !! Unfortunately even before I'd got to the door my family were turning around to come out. We are moving to the area soon and thought it'd nice to see what was on offer for refreshments nearby ( we had our small ten week old puppy with us who was fast asleep in one of my son's arms) apparently dogs aren't allowed in this tea room which is fair enough but the man wasn't very friendly in the way he talked to my family. However he did say that there was somewhere down the road that allowed dogs which we were grateful for....needless to say we went to another cafe called the Anglia Hotel it was welcoming and everyone loved our puppy. The owners do alot of fundraising for charities and often have bric a brac sales. It was absolutely spotless (it had a retro feel about it) the food was delicious needless to say we will be visiting the Anglia Hotel again. Thank you for your kindness and wonderful hospitality:-)

In reply to the owner. You know too well that your reply is a lie. I showed you my medical card on my phone. Visited Twice on the way to & from Norfolk The first time we witnessed a senior member of staff being abrupt with a customer sat waiting for her husband before ordering. This had obviously upset her and they decided to leave. The second time we ordered drinks and food and sat outside. When we had finished we went to use the toilets. A closed sign had been put on a chair at the entrance to the café, even though there was 15 minutes till closing. We understand that they would not want to serve new customers but as we were existing customers we asked if we could use the toilets but received a sarcastic refusal from another senior member of staff. The young girls who served us were really nice but the senior staff or management are not customer friendly Will not go again

After just moving nearby, we decided to pop in. I am not sure we will visit again. We were informed only the breakfast menu until 12. It was 11.15 and being vegetarian there is no option of a decent breakfast. So we both had beans on toast. Only one plate arrived as the lady clearly didnt understand our order. So I had to wait for mine to be cooked. The coffee was luke warm and why do people use cheap plastic bag bread? To be honest nothing special about eating here as it seems to be cheap ingredients. I think we will give this a miss in future. ****** After seeing the response from the owner. I had white bread (due to a dental issue I am worried about seeded bread so always order white) my husband brown. We both had latte. What I review other buisnesses is my business and when I am paying I expect a better standard than bog standard. I am so suprised that seeing this review was not responded to for a couple of weeks that this owner could remember my order and seeing this account is in my maiden name and I always use my married name seems a little suspect in his response.

The Tea Rooms was a very nice, cosy place. The staff were lovely and welcoming. Unfortunately, we just missed having breakfast as it stops being on the menu at 12 noon. The menu contains things such as bacon, brie and cranberry panini's (which I had and was very nice), as well as fish and chips, baked potatoes, etc. Plus, there is a specials menu on the wall. (Unfortunately, we weren't told about this until after I had ordered, luckily my wife noticed and ordered from it) The prawn salad was nice however, there was very little salad with the prawns. The Tea rooms also contains a few edible items in a small shop at the side, with some craft items alongside. On the site, there is also a small garden centre. Overall, a nice little place to visit for a bite to eat.

Avoid!! Very rude and aggressive owners! We wanted to stop here for a coffee after a long journey. According to Google the cafe is open until 3.30pm, but it is not. We approached the cafe before 3pm and a very rude lady came out and abruptly told us to leave. Then the man came out and was extremely rude to us. I think he assumed that we wanted to use their toilets which we did not. I don't know how people with such poor customer service and people skills stays in business. I won't be stopping here again and I recommend no one else does either. *Response to owners reply; I did not want to use your toilets and I did not use your car park as a lay by. We wanted to use your cafe, but it was unexpectedly closed. We left after the very rude altercation with a lady and man there. If the lady had said for example "I'm very sorry, we have closed early today." that would have been fine. I suggest that the man and woman at the cafe utilise this approach next time. I also recommend they go on a customer service course. You will receive a lot less one star reviews if you do and you will get more customers.

Stopped here on way back from a lovely holiday, I was very polite and asked to use the toilets after a long journey and was basically told no by a grumpy man as we weren't eating in the tea rooms even though we'd made a purchase in the garden centre. The man was very impolite and put himself in front of the toilet doors. Never seen such childish behaviour from a grown man. By reading other reviews this is not the first time this has happened, this man should not be working in customer service. Seemed to go out his way to be rude and standoffish. My dogs did not poo as you are suggesting in your response and even if they had I would have picked it up and I am a responsible dog owner. This man is clearly a liar too and doesn't like hearing the truth of what a nasty person he is.

Lovely old pub with amazingly low prices which compare with what we had in 1990's around London. Great beers and even Mild which can rarely be seen anywhere in the south. Wine very limited , Red, White or Rose, spirits all by the brewery but fine under half the price of the south and a lovely atmosphere.
