Don’t feel bad about passing this place by - there’s plenty more to choose from just down the road ! Very disappointing breakfast. Coffee stale and very weak despite being described as Strong and Not for the Faint Hearted. Waitress put another measure in on top of coffee already getting cold ! Bacon was warm and strangely soft and pale. Sausages not meaty. And the best bit ? I thought my egg was superb. Tasty, fresh, golden and perfectly cooked. Definitely not worth it though.

I would have liked more choice in the shop area, the cafe food for me was just okay, shame they don't do an all day breakfast so I settled for a plain cheese panini which had hardly any cheese in and it wasn't a proper panini, it was not cooked on a panini machine as it wasn't flattened and no grill marks, my husband had the steak pie and he was very happy with his as it had plenty of steak inside, the staff when we walked in at first were a bit abrupt but then came around at the end maybe with a tip in mind, would I stop there again no definatley not

I'd read the reviews about this tea room and thought surly it can't be that bad !! Unfortunately even before I'd got to the door my family were turning around to come out. We are moving to the area soon and thought it'd nice to see what was on offer for refreshments nearby ( we had our small ten week old puppy with us who was fast asleep in one of my son's arms) apparently dogs aren't allowed in this tea room which is fair enough but the man wasn't very friendly in the way he talked to my family. However he did say that there was somewhere down the road that allowed dogs which we were grateful for....needless to say we went to another cafe called the Anglia Hotel it was welcoming and everyone loved our puppy. The owners do alot of fundraising for charities and often have bric a brac sales. It was absolutely spotless (it had a retro feel about it) the food was delicious needless to say we will be visiting the Anglia Hotel again. Thank you for your kindness and wonderful hospitality:-)

Visited this place, had about £300 to spend here as needed to return with an empty boot to fit the items, while I was here I asked if I could use the customer toilet as i have a medical card for emergencies, showed to a member of staff (he was the owner) and he rudely refused saying "no as your not eating at my restaurant" go elsewhere. In reply to the owner. You know too well that your reply is a lie. I showed you my medical card on my phone. Its a shame you're not as helpful as other staff as you'd have alot more returning customers and a lit less complaints of how rude you are

We didn't feel very welcome as we were questioned if we were going to have lunch before we could use the toilets. We have been here several times before and returned because we enjoyed it. Visited Twice on the way to & from Norfolk The first time we witnessed a senior member of staff being abrupt with a customer sat waiting for her husband before ordering. This had obviously upset her and they decided to leave. The second time we ordered drinks and food and sat outside. When we had finished we went to use the toilets. A closed sign had been put on a chair at the entrance to the café, even though there was 15 minutes till closing. We understand that they would not want to serve new customers but as we were existing customers we asked if we could use the toilets but received a sarcastic refusal from another senior member of staff. The young girls who served us were really nice but the senior staff or management are not customer friendly Will not go again

After just moving nearby, we decided to pop in. I am not sure we will visit again. We were informed only the breakfast menu until 12. It was 11.15 and being vegetarian there is no option of a decent breakfast. So we both had beans on toast. Only one plate arrived as the lady clearly didnt understand our order. So I had to wait for mine to be cooked. The coffee was luke warm and why do people use cheap plastic bag bread? To be honest nothing special about eating here as it seems to be cheap ingredients. I think we will give this a miss in future. ****** After seeing the response from the owner. I had white bread (due to a dental issue I am worried about seeded bread so always order white) my husband brown. We both had latte. What I review other buisnesses is my business and when I am paying I expect a better standard than bog standard. I am so suprised that seeing this review was not responded to for a couple of weeks that this owner could remember my order and seeing this account is in my maiden name and I always use my married name seems a little suspect in his response.

The Tea Rooms was a very nice, cosy place. The staff were lovely and welcoming. Unfortunately, we just missed having breakfast as it stops being on the menu at 12 noon. The menu contains things such as bacon, brie and cranberry panini's (which I had and was very nice), as well as fish and chips, baked potatoes, etc. Plus, there is a specials menu on the wall. (Unfortunately, we weren't told about this until after I had ordered, luckily my wife noticed and ordered from it) The prawn salad was nice however, there was very little salad with the prawns. The Tea rooms also contains a few edible items in a small shop at the side, with some craft items alongside. On the site, there is also a small garden centre. Overall, a nice little place to visit for a bite to eat.

Avoid!! Very rude and aggressive owners! We wanted to stop here for a coffee after a long journey. According to Google the cafe is open until 3.30pm, but it is not. We approached the cafe before 3pm and a very rude lady came out and abruptly told us to leave. Then the man came out and was extremely rude to us. I think he assumed that we wanted to use their toilets which we did not. I don't know how people with such poor customer service and people skills stays in business. I won't be stopping here again and I recommend no one else does either. *Response to owners reply; I did not want to use your toilets and I did not use your car park as a lay by. We wanted to use your cafe, but it was unexpectedly closed. We left after the very rude altercation with a lady and man there. If the lady had said for example "I'm very sorry, we have closed early today." that would have been fine. I suggest that the man and woman at the cafe utilise this approach next time. I also recommend they go on a customer service course. You will receive a lot less one star reviews if you do and you will get more customers.

Very disappointed with this place. Stopped here on way back from a lovely holiday, I was very polite and asked to use the toilets after a long journey and was basically told no by a grumpy man as we weren't eating in the tea rooms even though we'd made a purchase in the garden centre. The man was very impolite and put himself in front of the toilet doors. Never seen such childish behaviour from a grown man. By reading other reviews this is not the first time this has happened, this man should not be working in customer service. Seemed to go out his way to be rude and standoffish. My dogs did not poo as you are suggesting in your response and even if they had I would have picked it up and I am a responsible dog owner. This man is clearly a liar too and doesn't like hearing the truth of what a nasty person he is.

We had a short stop at the tea room on a longish journey. Plenty of parking and there is a garden centre in a separate unit. The farm shop is in the same building as the tea rooms, although in its own little area. When we got in, we was greeted and seated. Some of the items on the menu was a tad more expensive than I was expecting, but at the same time they were not unreasonable. I ordered their large breakfast. When breakfast arrived it was OK, not the best but not terrible either (although the sausage was well over cooked). We sat and enjoyed our tea before paying at the counter and heading off. Tea room itself was nice, my nan liked looking at all the tea pots that were decorating the window ledges. The farm shop had cards and some things you perhaps wouldn't usually buy at a farm shop, but also had some fresh fruit items as well, again it was OK as farm shops go. We didn't pop into the garden centre so can't comment on that! It was, as mentioned above, an OK place for a stop with something to eat, certainly wouldn't put me off stopping again - but perhaps would stick with tea and cake! 😉

We have been to Chestnuts 4 times - we live local and like to support local businesses. Unfortunately on this occasion we seemed to inconvenience the lady seating us. there was only one other group already seated and although there was plenty of other seats available we were seated right next to the group. thinking the other tables were reserved we did not ask to be moved. the lady then proceeded to set the table and brought dirty cutlery. when asked to replace the cutlery her response was simply "Oh Yes" and replaced it, no attempt of a "sorry" clearly it was her end of shift as we then saw her leave and were then served by another lady. The food was good (Chestnuts cream tea and a panini with coffee) and price was reasonable. In this day and age with competition being so strong i would have thought service would be key! unfortunately on this occasion we left feeling we were an inconvenience.

Went on way home from Norfolk, I saw this was a tea room and garden centre, we pulled in and decided to go to the toilet before looking at the garden centre as we needed some compost and a new dog garden auniment, we had been to the toilet and was just going to the garden centre, as we left the building a lady inside shouted something sarcastic, I let that go and carried on outside. We had just spotted an auniment we wanted as a man came out saying" are you not coming into the tea rooms", as I tried to answer him to inform him we wanted to look at the garden centre, he just butted in saying" don't you think you should have asked permission to use the toilet, I again tried to explain why we had not and wanted to look round the garden centre, but he said We begged belief and shrugged his shoulders, I then decided that it was time to go and not even look at tge garden centre and definitely not purchase the auniment. What value truly rude man and woman and I would recommend people keep driving and definitely not to give them your custom, rydf and horrible 😡😡

Very poor service, very miserable management, most unhelpful and rude. Had intended stopping here regularly on our way north, but will go elsewhere, somewhere with friendly customer service. I have read the managements reply and feel I should have written a more detailed account, I have never reviewed before. We were there late afternoon on a Sunday, with family from Canada (just 4 of us altogether, 1 was in the car park with the dogs) and had suggested this stop for their cheese scones and sausage rolls/pasties, unfortunately none left for us to purchase. We had a 3 yr old with us so wanted her to sit in the shade, whilst she had a drink and fruit scone. We were told to sit outside in the sun. The attitude of management was so unnecessary, late afternoon on a Sunday when they would be closing soon, and only 2 other people sitting outside. He was extremely rude and and he actually came out twice as he didn’t feel we were moving a 3 year old girl quick enough.
