The Parlour Restaurant @ Springfields in South Holland

We've been to the Parlour a few times and always had excellent food and service. This visit was to celebrate my Mother's 90th birthday. Everything from booking onwards was exceptional. Mum's access needs were taken into account, along with our dietary requirements. The food was beautiful and the birthday cake unexpected and so thoughtful. Mum was made to feel so special. The staff even took the time to welcome us back after a brief shop, help with our bags and take home food boxes (you'll need them!) and ask how our day had been. A lovely place, we'll definitely be back. Thank you for making Mum's day so special 💖

Having not been to Springfields for a couple of years i decided to book afternoon tea for 5 of my family, i read the reviews and they looked really positive, i have to say how friendly all the staff were when arriving, the decor of this place is so nice, i thought afternoon tea would be just a few sandwiches/cakes, how wrong i was, as the trays started to arrive i wished i hadn't eaten breakfast earlier at home as the portions were huge (not in a bad way), all delicately made, it was all delish, there was so much we had to take some of the food home which the waitress kindly gave us some boxes to bag it all up, we all had a lovely day round Springfields but this just finished the day off perfectly, again thank you to all the staff that made our day so special and the chefs for the lovely food. Next time you go to Springfields don`t hesitate to give this place a try, we all can`t wait to return (this time I'm going to miss breakfast at home).

Chose this based on how it looked on the website. Welcomed by Hayley . Food was excellent, good choices. Hayley and her colleague were very friendly and went above and beyond looking after us. Some light bite options on the menu would be good.

The loveliest of surroundings and ambience. The food and service was amazing and made to feel very special. We went for breakfast which ahs a very reasonably priced menu with the usual full english and lighter choices such as french toast, eggs benedict and welsh rearebit(which I am having next time). Opted for cooked breakfast which was lovely but huge. My daughter had eggs benedict which had lots of sauce and soft eggs. Pot of tea with china made it extra special. Highly recommend for breakfast. The cakes also looked delicious!

Impromptu visit for some lunch on Boxing Day. Pleasant atmosphere and good service despite a relatively busy time. Young boys playing the piano, which I think was by chance, added to the ambience. Good food, served promptly. Would recommend Eggs Royale. Will be back!

Very good food and service despite only 3 people serving, non the less excellent experience. We found that the staff very polite and pleasant. We will definitely go back there again.

strangely all of the staff seemed to be putting on French accents which wasn't really a concern. The floor area throughout the restaurant was not clean first thing on a Sunday morning. Drinks and food were quite good although our simple order was wrong which when only four customers are in is poor.

Had a fantastic afternoon tea. Great selection of well filled sandwiches and cakes. The staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Excellent value for money, I will definitely be back for more!

We took our neighbours for a celebration afternoon tea. It was the first day of the ‘festive’ menu and was really good. The food was really nice with a great selection and there was plenty of it! Staff were very attentive with endless top-ups of hot drinks. We can highly recommend The Parlour.

We booked the Afternoon tea as we had received a voucher so was looking forward to the experience. It took quite a long time to be served following asking if we could order drinks. The afternoon tea was served before we had the tea. We weren’t given a menu to check what drinks we wanted and had to ask for it. There was no description of what was being served - I.e. what the sandwiches and cakes were. I had asked for no cheese but I was given the sandwiches d with cheese in it so swapped it with my husband. The sandwich was served with a thin bit of spread in it but no real filling. We weren’t asked if the afternoon tea was okay or if we required anymore tea. I would suggest it you want an amazing afternoon tea along with great service then go to Congham Hall as they seem to have it off to a tea 😁

Visited the Parlour Restaurant on 31 October for breakfast. Arrived just after 10 am to find the doors to the street entrance locked. Staff in the restaurant asked us to enter via the garden centre as the manager, who was not there, had the keys. When we entered the restaurant we were met by 2 very polite staff who showed us to a table and gave us menus. However, after 5 minutes, one of the staff returned to tell us that she had contacted the manager and was informed that she (the manager) and the chef were in a meeting which was ongoing. As such, the message from the manager, according to the member of staff, was that we couldn’t have breakfast in the Parlour Restaurant and should go elsewhere. We had travelled over an hour to get to Spalding and were looking forward to having breakfast in Parlours. We obviously couldn’t speak to the manager to complain as she was (according to her staff) in a meeting, hence this review. Surely staff meetings should be held outside opening times (the Restaurant opens at 9.30am)!? Such lack of consideration for the customer does make you think that the manager hasn’t got her priorities right. I stress that the I information above is based on what we were told by the staff in the restaurant and that the restaurant was open at the time (if not, we wouldn’t have been shown to a table). If there is any other explanation we were not told, although the staff dealing with us appeared very genuine. Not a good day for the Parlour Restaurant!!

The staff at The Parlour are always at the top of their game, kitchen and front of house. The food maintains this standard. The best description would be "superlative". Well done everyone; keep up the good work. We WILL be back, soon. Geoff and Susan, Rutland.

After a morning of shopping we decided to have dinner at The Parlor restaurant. I wish we hadn't and should have gone elsewhere. The restaurant itself is pleasant enough and that is where the good point ends. The food is mediocre. £16 for a burger and chips is extortionate when you consider the burger is dry, the bun is cold and indescribable and an insulting 10 chips which were rubbery on the outside and undercooked inside. Don't waste your time with this restaurant.

The first thing you notice when entering the restaurant is the smell of fish. It make no difference what time you go in there is always a smell of fish. It’s a shame as the service is always very good and the scones are excellent.
