We've just been for Sunday lunch. Very good food. Excellent service. Sat outside under pergola in the sun. It was a very pleasant relaxed afternoon. Thankyou. The roast beef was lovely. And the crispy chicken starter.

My wife and I took 2 relatives for Sunday lunch, it was perfect. We all enjoyed the meal. We were served by KAYLA who was outstanding she was very helpful but not pushey She is a great asset to your restaurant We will be back

Had a great afternoon there today with 3 lovely ladies for a late Sunday lunch. Service was great. Lewis was really helpful. Very attentive. Sat under cover in the garden which was lovely and so relaxing, exactly what we needed. Food was yummy....we did order extra potatoes but that was fine. Would recommend for a well priced lunch.

Really enjoyed my meal - all four of us chose different meals, and all four thoroughly enjoyed them.

Not the cheapest place to visit, but it was a nice place to venture to for an afternoon out, good sized car park, with plenty of street parking if needed. Lovely garden area. Had it been a bit cheaper and similar to other village pubs nearby, it would have been 5 stars.

Visited The Chequers for the first time to celebrate my Mum's Birthday . We opted to go straight for the Mains - I chose a rump steak from the specials and she went for chicken goujons. It was one of the best steaks I have ever had ! Accompanied with fries, onion rings a mushroom, grilled tomatoes and peas, it was cooked to perfection. My Mum's meal was of equal quality and thoroughly enjoyed. This was followed by the butterscotch tart, again yummy. The staff were pleasant and attentive and also engaged in a little banter which I enjoy. We will be back !!

Amazing experience last night. Food was delicious, large portions, place is spotless clean and the atmosphere is great! My mum is gluten free and had big choice of dishes. I will definitely come back:)

This is the third time we have had Sunday lunch here and it never fails to disappoint. Today was Mothers Day and we took my 92 yr mum. There was 3 sittings and everything ran smoothly. Sat down on time, order taken, food was hot and delicious, and a lovely bunch of tulips given for every mum.

Amazing night! My family had a table for 16 and we all had a fantastic time & the food was phenomenal! Definitely can't wait to go back!

Not good the steak had gone up in price which was outrageous £31.95 for what you got it tasted ok the price of the steak is not the price advertised on the menu on there site The prawns 10 not enough i didnt want the cold salmon mixed for my starter £8.95 wanted extra prawns as i didnt have the salmon where was they yes i did ask My friend had the prawns as a main £15.95 no extra prawns same size meal as the starter and charged full price he didnt want cold salmon he asked for extra prawns didnt get them Supposed to get chips with the steak they were skin on wedges asked for chips Will not be going again was recommended to come here never again and the workforce will be informed so they wont be going in the near future either very disapointed this was my friends 50th birthday treat evening meal yes they did know as when i made the bookings i said why we were coming

Last visited here a few years ago and was surprised to see the menu still predominantly the same as last time! The starters were lovely. The lamb main was delicious but the rump steak was disappointing. It came undercooked so returned. Then came back out over cooked. The skin on chips were dry. This member left their food and nobody questioned it. As a restaurant you should be curious as to why it wasn’t eaten. Drinks order was incorrect but quickly rectified. The desserts were very nice. I think as it was incredibly busy this led to food not quite the usual standard and maybe kitchen was struggling. There were lots of large parties being catered for. Service was very good though especially with how busy they were.

Found this lovely pub on Sunday and had a very good lunch, they were very busy but managed to fit us in in the bar. We were so impressed we went back for lunch today, we weren't disappointed, lovely food and friendly atmosphere

Christmas Day drinks - amazing atmosphere and vibe - everyone so welcoming and staff treat you like family! This is an oasis in Spalding with welcoming and friendly staff who go beyond to make you feel relaxed and looked after. Do try one of the cocktails - amazing. If you are looking for a place to drink and eat where you can relax, feel at home and served good food and drinks this is your place!

I think anyone that goes out and pays the sort of money you expect to pay for Xmas lunch is doing it to avoid the hassle as much as for the food. The Xmas dinner at the Chequers was good. By ‘good’ I mean exactly that… it wasn’t bad and it wasn’t outstanding. The total cost was well over £500 but again, I don’t expect people to come out to work on Xmas day without being properly paid. To be fair, the service was excellent. Now on to the food- I had the pheasant goujons to start. They were ok but to be fair I’d have preferred a prawn cocktail. This wasn’t an option on the preset menu (options for which we’d had to submit a couple of months before) but the table behind us obviously had “connections” as they were served this. Others in my family had the cheese dish which went down well. I don’t think you can go much wrong with cheese. The main course was Turkey with the trimmings for me. Again, this was good. In all fairness I could have cooked it just as well (I’m a good cook!) but I didn’t want to. The yorkshires were a bit on the flat side but this was the only down side: the veg was cooked to perfection and there was a lot of it. More eggs in the batter next time guys! The dessert was Eton Mess for some, Xmas pudding for me. A solid 7/10 for the Xmas pudding. A nice touch was that the adults all left with a brown box wrapped in string with a few grapes, celery and some nice cheese. Would I go back? Yes, probably but not next year. There’s a few other places I’d like to try and they didn’t quite do enough for me to be banging the door down for next year. That’s just me though, others in my party thought the whole setup and the food was really well done.

Visited here for a family Christmas meal. Service was good and attentive, however the food was a little disappointing for the price. The mash served with the pie was lumpy and the gravy was watery. The beef bourguignon was luke warm and without any accompanying vegetables. The restaurant area lacked any Christmas decoration and surrounding parties were very noisy.

Had a meal during the week, it was so good we booked for The Sunday Lunch , and that was even better. Lamb which you dont see often in Restaurants, so good and so much of it. Creamed Potatoes, Roast Potatoes ,Veg, even a Yorkshire pud, which most places only give you if you have Beef. Wonderful friendly service. Fantastic choice on the menu, what more could you want? Just been today for their Xmas Lunch, it was so good, plenty of it too.

Very pleasant experience, they kindly fitted us in at late notice so I could treat my in-laws to a Christmas meal out. Staff were lovely, attentive and friendly without being too much. Food very nice, I especially enjoyed the orange, cinnamon and ginger cheesecake!! Very good value for money, will definitely be returning.

Always a pleasure going to the chequers

One of the worst experiences for some time, phoned up as the website recommends you book. Arrived 10 mins later at 10.20 was asked to wait at the bar even though ther was plenty of empty tables. Took 10mins to ask if we would like any drinks and were given menus, lukewarm coffee arrived and our order taken, first item ordered was not available. So we ordered a couple of full English and waited. Sat for some time with empty cups and another couple came in and ordered, their drinks arrived pretty quick and not long after so did their breakfasts. I decided to go to the counter and ask for more drinks as it had been a while. My wife asked how long the breakfast will be as we had been there a while to be told "were just waiting on the eggs"?? Then the first of the full English turned up and had the wrong toast and beans that had obviously been sat under a heat lamp for some time. I told the server it was the wrong toast who went away and came back and said there was no more brown bread and that was the last straw so we up and left. On approaching the till to pay for the 2 cups of coffee we managed to get within the hour the staff appeared from the kitchen and agreed that they had given our breakfast to the couple that came in after us. Very poor customer service

Called in for lunch as we were visiting Moulton near by. The food in this pub is excellent home cooked food. The staff a very polite beer and wine are also good. Great value for money. Unusual now days to get good Home cooked food. 10/10

Pastry on the vegan option was hard - probably because it was also gluten free, but in any case, it wasn't very nice. It wasn't awful, but the general consensus among our party is that we wouldn't go again.

I have been meaning to go here for a few years as I had heard such great things about it. This place is excellent. The food is made fresh, the servings are large and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The building and decor are light, airy and modern.There is a huge garden too. I would definitely recommend it.

Was booked for a wedding party, very friendly and helpful staff. Food was very good, cannot fault, portion sizes are big so bear this in mind if ordering starter/pudding.

Have had couple meals in here a month..2/3 meals a month Unfortunately lately it's been not so good have starters come out ten minutes after the others 4 people 4 starters. Complained about a fish meal and was told there is nothing wrong with it and still billed for it .after the boss tried the meal even tho day before me mum had a take away fish and said it tasted funny . Clearly the fish has been sat for a few days longer than should of been. Don't like to make a fuss but when your getting starters ten mins after the others and some not so nice dishes sent out the kitchen and billed for them like it's your god dam right to pay for it regardless. feel like the service could of been better . Or even a sorry would of been welcomed by us not to worrys sooner travel half hour further and be treated a little special when ya spending 300 /500 a month there All the best guys not for me any more

Great food and excellent service for lovely family meal celebrating our daughters 21st. Staff really helpful and accommodating.

Busy local pub with a good range of draught beers. Nearly£150 for 4 people was very expensive, didn’t even have a bottle of wine. My lamb tagine was a watery flavourless broth. Was expecting a rich spicy sauce with the flavours of Morocco. No such luck. Have added a photo of what a proper lamb tagine should look like.

Very disappointing meal. Lamb tagine very watery. The waiter said it was meant to be that way so no apology. Overdone steak which looked pale and insipid. It was overpriced and underwhelming. We gave it a second chance (previous visit poor too) as we were with friends but unfortunately still not good enough. The best part was the dessert but very small portion for the price. Stick to the basic pub grub, the chef cannot cope with anything above that sadly. Sorry but true. The only reason it is so busy is there isn’t anything else in the area.

starter was not a lot for £7.95 chip were double cooked not nice duck burger was over cooked and dry egg was over cooked rice teased like come from a packet for £50 not be going again be better of at local take away

I took my mum along with my 4 sisters for afternoon tea, I have never been so disappointed, the sandwiches look like they had been thrown together and consisted of cheese and pickle(not everyone likes pickle) chicken tecka and salmon, not one ham or tuna sandwich, not one sausage roll or pork pie no chicken goujon, just a couple of cocktail sausage some sort of quiche may I add a bit size piece!! A scones some sort of treacle, slice fruit cake a little pavlova with a few strawberries. This was for three people sharing at £22.50 each for what was offered I could have whipped up for £15 for it all. Disgusting really, and such a shame as it's quite a nice pub.

Visited for lunch but actually went for the main menu. The cottage pie was delicious with red velvet cheesecake for dessert. Lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. Prices were reasonable too. Will definitely visit again!

We arrived early to the pub and was asked to sit in the bar area which was fine we had a 2pm booking but was left waiting for 10/15 mins but once we was seated the service picked up. The roast dinners were fantastic crispy potatoes and great Yorkshire puddings, the veg was good well which is a nice surprise and the gravy has great flavor. The apple crumble was tasty with custard abs the cheesecake creamy and rich , the special was a cappuccino pan a cotta which again was well made. The price of the food was good for the quality and flavor. I haven’t had a good roast dinner out for ages well worth the visit
