Came across this place on a long journey and couldn’t have worked out better. Such a lovely pub and fabulous food. They were very short staffed but they all worked so hard and it in no way affected our experience. Can only imagine how incredible it would be with the full team. Thank you to the whole team for a great meal

I noticed most reviews are very old. This pub is living in the past. No welcome , landlady in coat and woolly hat as too mean to put heating on . Tatty, unvwelcoming with nothing to write positively about. No food menu. Very disappointing. What a shame as it’s in a lovely village.

Do you know we really enjoy our visits to the Street Kitchen. Why not write a review? I’m sure it will be well received. Thank you I will, what’s your name by the way? So here goes, this is for Michell and all the fantastic staff at Nottingham Nottcuts. Without a shadow of doubt we thoroughly enjoy our week by week visits. A wander through the Garden section, occasionally including Maidenhead Aquatics now and again. Then all the other luxury goods on sale in the many available of expertise. Thankfully Season by Season their saleable goods change so much so we know exactly where to go to buy just what we want along side what we need. Anyway back to the Street Kitchen. Usually we will have a pot of tea each and an extra pot of hot water along with a cake of our choice, mine often being a fruit scone and butter. Whilst my wife will more often than not choose a triple chocolate muffin. Occasionally we might splash out and each have a portion of chips. The very best part of our visit is sitting amongst all the other visitors to the Street Kitchen. Each family quietly chatting and enjoying their food laughing and joking about this and that. Occasionally Grandchildren and children on school holidays join their respective families. The Street Kitchen is a quality venue and I feel completely at my ease every time we visit. The words happiness and contentment springs to mind. As another compliment which you all deserve are your staff. Whoever the customer whatever the choice of food it all arrives well cooked and served to perfection. Thank you one and all for every one of our visits so far. Austin and Ann Shaw

I wish to start this review by saying I am a true advocate of spoons, especially the Bingham one. I estimate my average attendance to be atleast weekly spanning the last decade, and I always have a good time wether it be for a quick breakfast, a cheap and cheerful dinner with family or getting absolutely slaughtered on a Friday night so this only adds to the disappointment of my evening. I attended with my family for a quick and easy dinner, I am aware of how busy the branch gets but this did not deter me from having a nice time. We sat down on a table that had only just vacated and was covered in the previous patrons plates, cutlery and used napkins. I do not have an issue with this and was more than fine to move them all into a pile myself and await for a staff member to clear this. We ordered in the app as usual, and to my bemusement, 3 x payments were taken for one order. I went to the bar to query this where I was met with the response of, verbatim “it’s only in your pending, we haven’t even taken it yet, and I finish in 5 minutes anyway”. I am no arguing man and gave the staff member who I will not name the benefit of the doubt and returned to my seat. I awaited patiently for our drinks and food to arrive, unfortunately the staff member delivering the drinks failed to see the mountain of 19 plates stacked right in front of me and walked off because I could manage to ask them to take it. We then waited patiently food to arrive, which took 55 minutes. ( again i understand how busy it was and this is not particularly important to me), however when it eventually did arrive, it was missing two pigs in blankets, and this was important to me as I had deliberately ordered this burger from the Christmas specials member because it indeed came with pigs in blankets. I raised this instantly with a staff member who was happy to rectify the situation. Another 20 minutes past and still no sign of any pigs in blankets, by which point I had finished my £31.89’s worth of burger. I also wish to add not a single mayonnaise with anything more than a tea spoon amount remaining could be found anywhere in the establishment. I was happy to let bygones be bygones, due to my usual content at spoons service, quality, atmosphere and general experience. I have then noticed that the so called ‘only pending’ transactions of £31.89 for ONE burger were no longer in fact ‘pending’ and had been taken from my bank. I rang the branch to ask how this would be rectified and yet again I was fobbed off to wait a few days or contact my bank to solve their mistake. It would appear the delegation of any kind of taking responsibility falls within the quality of anyone who wishes to work there. Disappointed, let down and expected better from my usual trusty local.

Have been coming for years, always enjoy the breakfast, but couldn’t sit on certain tables as they are expecting ‘a rush’ it was 8.45am, we sat on the uncomfortable chairs and waited to see the ‘rush’……didn’t happen Poor all round won’t be coming back.

Stopped in for lunch and some shopping. Tried fish n chips in cafe one with beans and other mushy peas. Very large fish, all fish unlike some the have half an inch batter on each end. Had to wait about 10 mins as cooked fresh and excellent value at £6.99 each.

This was our first experience going against Trip Advisor (and choosing the lowest-rated Google review), and we will not do it again. It's not worthy of the accumulated three stars. We could forgive the overpriced, dry cake and lousy coffee, but we cannot forgive the unprofessional staff who created an unwelcoming atmosphere in this cafe. The cafe was busy, with only one waitress and a "chef" - (I'm not sure how much of the produce is homemade) - however, the team of two seemed stressed. We could hear them constantly bitch about customers for various reasons (one with allergies). It made us feel very uncomfortable, and we left pretty quickly. If feels like this cafe is run for profit only - cheap ingredients or shop-bought, mass-made cake that's maybe past its best, whilst charging premium prices. The staff are not passionate about the hospitality industry or even care about the customers sitting at the tables, ultimately paying their wages. I will not be visiting this particular cafe again. However, I look forward to sampling the other coffee houses and highly rated cafes in the area.
