Visited today (a Saturday) for coffee and cake with a friend. The cafe was almost empty with 2 staff working, yet it took forever for drinks to arrive. We asked for a menu and the waitress practically threw it at us. My friend ordered a fruit tea and asked that the water not be boiling hot, but she was told that the water came as it came (adding a bit of cold water before adding hot water would have sufficed). The server was quite sharp and blunt, we weren’t happy, so we left and spent our money somewhere else.

We were nervous about our afternoon tea due to recent negative reviews. The service was very good and attentive however the 1 person serving was run off her feet The afternoon please nice was 6 different sandwiches which were freshly made and tasted the same The scones were still warm with quality jam and the cakes were plentiful and fresh We would look to return due to the quality of the tea and coffee served if in the area

Thought we’d stop off for a coffee and some food. Unfortunately it was very disappointing. We ordered some sandwiches. When they arrived there was hardly any filling and the bread tasted stale. I think when you’re paying £7.50 for a sandwich you’d expect fresh bread and plenty of filling. Had better sandwiches in a meal deal! Won’t be making a second visit.

Very disappointed overpriced afternoon tea for a baby shower Scones rock hard and inedible tea very weak even when left in the pot for ages The smallest price of quiche I have seen in my life !! Didn’t complain at the time as I thought it was just me but after speaking to others there it appears it wasn’t !! The holding deposit and hire price not explained properly so what should have been a lovely afternoon for the mum to be turned into an expensive afternoon If you are thinking of booking this place make sure that the costs are fully explained to you before you book.

I bought my Mum a £30 gift voucher for her 75th bday. As it was quiet she was able to take in her motorised scooter which was great. Her and her granddaughter had a lovely lunch. The staff were really lovely and accommodating, the food was good. There was only one gripe. When I bought the voucher I explained it was because I wanted my mother to be able to have some independence and be able to meet her friends regularly for coffee. I explained this when I purchased the voucher but went my mum went to use the voucher today they said she could neither draw down on the voucher or be refunded. This was not explained and was actually very disappointing.

Coffee and cake was badly needed in the lunch break of Notts v Worcestershire at Trent Bridge and so we wandered down to The White Rabbit Teahouse just up the road. Lovely little gem in the town. The cake was gorgeous and the coffee very nice indeed. Extremely pleasant staff too. With the added bonus of hearing the real housewives of Nottinghamshire chatting away in the corner.

Waited 50mins for an overpriced sandwich, which wasn’t up to much really! Cheap ham, with a salad that that consisted of half a cherry tomato and one slice of cucumber and some leaves - shame really. On the plus side there’s plenty of other places to visit next time.

Mothers day afternoon tea. What a rip off £60 for 2. 4 slices bread cut into 8 fingers, 2 tiny horrid dry cheese scones 2 tiny tastless quich 2 small dry scones with lemon curd 2 tiny macaroons 4 diffrent cakes Few berries Tea coffee. Cramded into a corner, no space couldnt hear yourself talk. Good money making scheme they got going off. Lots bad reviews. Been for afternoon tea many times and this is by far the worse. £60 what a joke

Sadly, our experience wasn't great. There were 3 of us that had booked afternoon tea at £22 each. They seemed short staffed, although I appreciate it's not a big place. My friend was waiting for over 15 minutes, just to get some butter for her scone, then waited another 10 minutes for jam. But I was very disappointed with the amount we paid, for such a small amount of food - we paid £66 for one cake stand of food between us all. The scones were extremely dry, and extremely flat, although the sandwiches were fresh, but generally we were very underwhelmed. We waited absolutely a life time to get a refill of tea. Would I go again? Not in a lifetime, there are far better places in West Bridgford, offering fresher food and better value for money

My favourite place for coffee and a treat! Whenever I visit the staff are just so lovely and welcoming! I always have at least one of the kids with me and they are so accommodating. Some of nicest cakes you can find in Nottingham too. Nice to see that quality stills comes first as there’s so many places that sacrifice this to get cheaper prices, for what is inferior products! Highly recommend.

Went here for my daughter’s birthday, very disappointed with the food and service. The sandwiches were dry and scones were hard as a rock. They overfilled the catheter, so the coffee spilt all over the table and floor, we had to ask twice for Tea and when we asked for Prosecco, there was none available that had been chilled and had to wait for it to be chilled in the freezer. Overall very poor experience and we will not be returning, overpriced for the £120 that we paid.

Went for afternoon tea for a very small bridal shower. Staff were so accommodating especially as we had quite a number of dietary requirements between the 3 of us. Had to take my one year old too who after a while didn’t want to stay in highchair - as the cafe was then empty, they were more than happy and understanding to let him crawl around and burn some energy. The afternoon tea itself was amazing. By far one of the best I’ve ever had. And their selection of teas were so delicious - we ended up purchasing a bag too - I recommend the peach flowers!

We went for an afternoon tea for a special occasion and left feeling disappointed. When we booked a table the price was £20 per person and then at a later date they emailed saying it was being increased to £22. We feel they should have honoured the price that we booked it at. Once we were there, the table wasn’t ready and then we had to wait 40 minutes for our afternoon tea to be served. We did not receive an apology for the delay and instead when we were eventually given our food, we were told sternly that they needed our table back by a certain time. The sandwiches were average but we were particularly disappointed by the cakes. We saw some beautiful homemade cakes on display in the window but were given 3 small slices of different cake that all tasted the same, as well as 3 standard cupcakes (between 3). The scones were nothing special either and some of them were over baked. We generally feel they were being greedy by overbooking and not providing great customer service.

Enjoyed their scone so much, it was warm and served with my favorite cream & jam❤️. Besides the scone, we have also ordered a piece of 🍫chocolate cake with marshmallows. By comparing this one with the branch in city centre, I think the interior design for the former is less vintage and the tea set for the latter is prettier. Yet food is 👍🏻 high quality in both Tea Houses as well as their friendly staff. Recommend if you want to take a break 🫖

Stopped here for coffee and cake whilst out cycling. My first gripe is being asked for a tip upfront. Surely I need to be served before tipping?? Anyway, I’m glad I didn’t tip upfront, as the service was poor. No milk for the coffee and when we reminded the waitress she seemed aggrieved. The cake was dry and lacked good flavour, whilst the tart pastry was thin and underdone. If you’re going to charge £14 for 2 coffees and cake, it needs to be of much better quality than that which we were served.

My partner and I ordered two slices of cake from this place - the waitress took the cakes inside to slice them up and put them in takeaway boxes. When we opened the boxes, the slices were much smaller than we’ve had anywhere else. The cakes on display looked pretty big but I probably only got one 20th of the whole thing. Two tiny portions came to £8. Both cakes were dry and lacked taste - the blueberry sponge cake was also quite crumbly. Overall it didn’t justify the high price and conservative portion so we won’t be going back - particularly because you can get bigger, tastier and less expensive sweet treats at an independent coffee shop right around the corner or even Caffè Nero just a few doors down.

I was really pleased to see that White Rabbit tearooms had reopened for takeaways following the recent lockdown due to Covid 19. Good but overly priced. We sat down and got our peach bellinis and ordered our food. When the food came we were a bit confused due to us only getting one cake stand for 4 people, this included a sandwich each, a bite size quiche, a mini scone and 4 mini cupcakes and 2 normal size cupcakes. The cupcakes had to be quartered so overall we got a cupcake and a half each (see picture). The afternoon tea came with tea/coffee, however two of us don’t drink them and were offered squash instead but you had to pay 50p extra?!? This whole meal for 4 people with a drink each was £84. Absolutely ridiculous price. The food tasted lovely but extremely disappointed in the portion size for what we paid.

The tea house was okay but in the other shop they have (or used to have) China tea cups and lovely teapots. The crockery here was modern and not comfortable in the hand. The cheese scone was delicious but the tea was very weak - need to add a few more leaves to a full teapot of water for a decent flavour cuppa. Probably won’t go again.

This is our favourite restaurant/pub and after three years of regular visits and superb food every time, I thought it worth a well-earned high-praise review. Apart from the occasional evening event, (they hold special themed nights from time to time), it's generally lunches we go for. The quality of the food is consistently high and the service very friendly and professional. The menu is understandably quite small, given that everything is cooked to order but seems varied enough for most tastes. Despite the high standard of cooking and produce, the prices are very competitive indeed. It does get quite busy some days despite being a bit off the beaten track, so best to book if possible. There is a large secluded back garden with seating, (where they hold their events), and a good children's play area. The building itself is still an old unspoilt country pub and serves at least two different real ale. Can't fault the Plough at all really.

Owner shouted a lady out the pub after she went to the loo. That is not what a respectful staff member should do and I’m disappointed that that would happen in the local pub.
