Do you know we really enjoy our visits to the Street Kitchen. Why not write a review? I’m sure it will be well received. Thank you I will, what’s your name by the way? So here goes, this is for Michell and all the fantastic staff at Nottingham Nottcuts. Without a shadow of doubt we thoroughly enjoy our week by week visits. A wander through the Garden section, occasionally including Maidenhead Aquatics now and again. Then all the other luxury goods on sale in the many available of expertise. Thankfully Season by Season their saleable goods change so much so we know exactly where to go to buy just what we want along side what we need. Anyway back to the Street Kitchen. Usually we will have a pot of tea each and an extra pot of hot water along with a cake of our choice, mine often being a fruit scone and butter. Whilst my wife will more often than not choose a triple chocolate muffin. Occasionally we might splash out and each have a portion of chips. The very best part of our visit is sitting amongst all the other visitors to the Street Kitchen. Each family quietly chatting and enjoying their food laughing and joking about this and that. Occasionally Grandchildren and children on school holidays join their respective families. The Street Kitchen is a quality venue and I feel completely at my ease every time we visit. The words happiness and contentment springs to mind. As another compliment which you all deserve are your staff. Whoever the customer whatever the choice of food it all arrives well cooked and served to perfection. Thank you one and all for every one of our visits so far. Austin and Ann Shaw

A nice garden centre with a good mix of plants and shrubs. The prices are higher than a nursery. The signage around the garden centre is slightly lacking and there can be long queues at the tills. Be aware items purchased from the aquatic centre need to be paid for there, though the signage is at a low level (knee height) and easy to miss if someone is standing in front of it. We wasted time queuing at the main till and received no real acknowledgement when we fed this back to two separate members of staff so I'm unsure if they are interested in improving the customer experience.

Beautiful centre and eating area to cut a long story short, avoid at all costs for any easy life and find better food elsewhere. Waited interminably for a simple snack that was disgusting, cold and inedible very expensive for what it was, waited 30 mins for a snack horrible waitress being dismissive and rude same employee being offhand with elderly visitors tables were full of used crockery full of nice people, but will never, ever revisit it or recommend. Most staff are lovely such as the managers and coffee station ladies, but I just got bad and chaotic vibes from the get go it made a hot day so much worse, steer well clear 😞plus two of the toilets were out of order

I wanted some advice on very expensive plants that I bought from here previously when I had lots of help and the garden staff were great. This time 2 years on, I needed further advice as two of the plants aren’t doing so well and the person I spoke to was extremely abrupt and quite rude. This is a very expensive garden centre and the plants are high quality. Two years ago I spent around £1,500 on plants and pots to create a hedge, I went there because I knew the plants would be good quality. I don’t expect to be spoken to like an idiot

We've been here many times, but this time was a little dissapointing. Being a busy Easter Friday may not have helped. Ordering lunch was straightforward, and plenty of choice on seating. Decafe tea was good. The mixed beans jacket potato was dissapointing. Small potato, only just warm, not enough bean filling, dry potato but did have a fair salad portion. No salad dressing. I went upto the till/drinks counter to ask for mayonnaise or salad dressing and was ignored. Other customers were being served. I waited like a lemon for a short time, then had to interrupt the drink making staff member who was very helpful and explained the salad dressing comes from the kitchen. With a just warm jacket potato I wasn't prepared to wait around any longer. They should make clear on ordering that dressing is optional. The member of staff did find some mayonnaise, apparently it is popular at busy times. We don't recomm the Lazy day snacks. They are dry and taste very different to non vegetarian/vegan options. Also the millionaires shortbread has Palm Oil as an ingredient. The staff are friendly.

The Street Kitchen cafe are amazing. I emailed ahead to ask for a discreet table as we would be talking about some business content, and they arranged a small sode room for us and even decorated it out with some plants. They really went above and beyond. The staff were extremely friendly, the vibe lovely and chilled and great coffee!! (The food also smelt amazing but we weren't there long enough to eat)

Worst experience. Waited an hour for food 4x gardener breakfasts that never arrived! Later asking for a refund this old lady/ manager was very rude not giving good service even though they were in the wrong. You would expect at least some sort of manners after not receiving the food you ordered but they gave none of that and she just gave us a look like we did something wrong. Absolutely disgraceful... Not coming back go this place and you shouldn't go either...

Generally very good, and stocks quite a few plants which are unavailable elsewhere. The prices can be quite reasonable for some things, but the tools are ridiculously expensive, often exceeding the RRP. But apart from that one issue, it’s a good store.

Lástima, no estropeó unas preciosas 4 horas 😀😀

My second visit here, it is huge, but with a confusing layout. Different levels with steps and ramps. Lots of concessions stores inside the main centre and outside as well. Loads of variety, if shopping for non garden stuff as is expected at garden centres these days, including a Hotter, Weird Fish, Cotton Traders, Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Cook Shop, Regatta and other outdoor clothing lines. Great cafe. Friendly staff. Car park could do with more lighting for winter visits so you can see the pot holes....

I was shopping and a staff member shouted at my friend and said do you want to look at the knives or what. My friend hadn't even spoken to her. When we went to the till she then apologised to me for her behaviour and not my friend. After apologising she mentioned that she was surprised at my British accent and didn't think people from Islam spoke English properly. I am a Muslim and so is my friend I am from Sheffield and have never experienced such a comment I am very disappointed this isnt the first time I have experienced this. This sort of degrading and dehumanising behaviour is not uncommon in a place like Edwalton.

I was disappointed with the food. We ordered jacket potatoes at 11:30 on Saturday morning. It looked lovely, and the salad was fresh, but the potatoes were reheated leftovers from the previous day. Very disappointing meal. Ordered a beef sunday dinner and it must have been sat, precooked for hours. Beef was cold, incredibly well-done and tough. The ends had gone solid and crispy as if it was cured meat. All the veg was underdone with no flavour except a strange watery-cleaning product taste. Having visited this garden centre on a handful of occasions, the layout and goods sold have always been of good quality. Today however, I visited the Nottscutts restaurant for the first time…and most definitely the last time. I ordered a cod (90% rock hard batter, 10% dry cod)and chips. The moment the peas become the best thing on the plate is the moment there’s something not quite right. Daughter had a cooked-from-frozen style pizza which was flat and lifeless. Son had fish goujons and chips which shared a similar fate as my tasteless cod. Wife had tomato soup which was probably the only thing fairly edible from our order. Come for the garden centre, do not stay for the food.

Merry Christmas Not!! I arranged to meet a friend at Notcutts Nottingham with my two baby girls. We planned to have lunch and a catch up, shop and to take the children to see Santa and play in the playground. All of these things, including feeding the baby, waiting for the table and food, we achieved in four hours twenty minutes. Not bad I thought. Despite spending more money than I anticipated, we all enjoyed the experience, that is, until I received a fine through the post because I exceeded the allotted parking time of four hours (which I was not aware of)!!!! Who would have thought you could not stay for the day, spending your money, if you were so inclined. In fact most businesses would encourage it, especially in these times. Needless to say we won’t be going again and my husband has confined me to the kitchen for Christmas!!!!

Lunch time appeared to have been busy as the tables were littered with use trays, plates, cups etc. There was no one clearing anything away. We cleared our own space. The cake was hard while the cappuccino was cold. There were only two members of staff on the checkout - one taking the payments and the other making drinks and it was busy so we did not complain. Overall the cafe experience was very poor. However we did buy two Christmas presents on the way out. Visiting the cafe and shopping here could be an enjoyable experience but this time it was not.

The Wheaties cafe is like a big barn and is very noisy whenever we’ve been. My husband and I have been inflicted with “ladies who lunch” loud conversations/ gossip. If you’re unlucky enough to sit near the kitchen it’s even noisier with servers almost scraping crockery and shouting to the kitchen. Food is OK but very expensive and service is slow and that’s being kind!! For Sage card holders 2 for 1 meals 3 times a year and free monthly hot drinks were offered- axed after Covid to scrape profits back - what a mistake!!!
