The White Horse Inn in Rushcliffe

This place has fallen off; it used to be our go-to for Sunday dinner, but the food has taken a nosedive and needs some TLC. Half of the tiles are off the wall in the toilets. Parking has always been difficult here, but it doesn't help that they now have a food truck occupying four spaces. The only saving grace is that it still has excellent service.

Had results channel put on only for staff 10 minutes later to say they had to change channel for another customer. Ruined my afternoon.

A lovely pub with great friendly staff

It was a quiet, wet Wed so there weren't many out but we all had a.marvellous time. The food was good, Harvester fare, but it was the staff who made the trip special. From the super friendly lady who greeted us to our amazing server, thank you all so much, you were fantastic.

Food is nice.. Head chef is not nice ,,, working in the kitchen at young age you get degraded and belittled. They make you feel like you worthless. At least 5 young staff left with in 3 months due to the head chef and his vile ways.

Came for Sunday dinner - which looked really good, but ended up outside in the sun and ordering tapas. 4 different dishes with dips and focaccia bread. Inc salt and pepper squid, belly port burnt ends with chilli salad, and mini chorizo. Staff were lovely and the food was amazing. Would recommend 👍 5 stars.

Last minute decision to call in here after rain called off a trip to the park. Was great to be able to walk in and have a table available for us. As most places now will only take pre bookings on a Sunday. The service was amazing very friendly and attentive staff. Made us feel very welcome. The food was on another level though. Well presented and fresh. We had the Sunday roast. Beef and pork and it was cooked to perfection. The childrens meals were very generous and definitely got your moneys worth. We will definitely be popping in again. And next time for the fish and chips. Which we saw being sent to another table and WOW if it tastes as good as it looks, will not be going to a chippy for fish Friday but here instead.

Ruddington Village recently had a "summer market" on top of the village market they have on the 1st Saturday of every month. We decided to pay it a visit but the summer fair was not worth it. However the visit was not a total loss as we decided to have a meal in the nearby White Horse Inn. The meal was so good we decided we had to try their Sunday Menu, and our 2nd visit for even better than our 1st. The Sunday lunch was out of this world. I opted for the Pork Belly and my wife went with the Chicken option. The kids had mini sausage and chicken strips. (not very Sunday like, but they were delicious by all accounts.) The wife thoroughly enjoyed her Chicken, but the Pork Belly was a masticating delight. Succulent, tasty, mouth-watering and too good to swallow. The Yorkshire Puddings were cooked from scratch and were a quarter of the size of the plate. The plate was advertised with "bashed roots" which I wasn't sure what that was but i was told it was actually . a combination of finely chopped swede and carrots. It was absolutely delicious and deserves a better description. The kids had a pudding but the parents opted out, who would want to ruin a good meal, even if the desserts themselves were amazing on top. Oh and to add to the amazing experience, WHI have Rekorderling on Tap, Cannot wait for my next visit

Looked at the menu and saw that chicken supreme was on the menu and decided to order it. When the meal came it turned out to be a roast chicken dinner I really felt hard done by. They also asked my husband how he wanted his beef doing and he said pink and it wasn't pink. Very disappointed with the meal altogether. We did complain but the chef wasn't bothered. They shouldn't say it is chicken supreme and it comes out a roast dinner.

We recently celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary at the White Horse in Ruddington, and we had a great time. They have a permanently sited marquee with sturdy walls, built-in floor, high vaulted ceiling and good lighting. They filled it with furniture for us, so that we could seat all our guests, and provided table service to take drinks orders and to fetch them for us. We employed a friend to provide disco/karaoke; the management let us know that we couldn’t be too loud, and that music must finish at 10pm, and that they would vacate the restaurant at 10pm so that we could migrate indoors at that time and continue there until the pub closed. They had good choices of hot and cold buffet and we ordered a mixture plus some gluten free dishes for our guests. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. Georgia helped us at every step along the way and ensured that everything ran smoothly. The price was very reasonable and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event.

This was simply the best chicken burger I've ever seen and tasted 👍 it resembled a scooby snack a huge chicken breast in a brioche bun with a side of fries.

Excellent sunday lunch, good portions and friendly staffv

Visited last night for dinner and wine tasting with a friend. Over 20 wines were available for sampling at the bargain price of just a tenner and we could work out way through the list or pick and choose. There were nibbles included and we also took advantage of the very reasonably priced set menu. The mushroom pasta was absolutely delicious and reminded me of some dinners in Italy from the past! The staff were fantastic with Jack keeping the wine flowing and Georgia checking we were all well fed! What a great night! I’m told they will be doing this every couple of months but you will need to book early!

Always a wonderful Sunday lunch and plenty of it too, we have been at least a dozen times, the staff are lovely, also its dog friendly which we love xx❤

A poor experience the food was appaulling very expensive not a recommendation

Everyone we have spoke to about our Sunday lunch last week said we should have refused to pay raw meat isn't acceptable

Been here just for a drink on a Sunday afternoon I saw food coming out to people they look really nice

My wife and I visited the White Horse recently and it was for a celebration meal. We went for the 3 course set menu. We each had different dishes. The food was excellent in quality and value. Quite often you find portion size to be an issue with ‘set menus’ but this was NOT the case. Lots of delicious food. Service was quick and staff attentive. I’m a little hesitant writing this review as I want to keep this gem quiet but seriously if you want good food and good value look no further.

Superb Sunday lunch. The staff were friendly and welcoming too. Definitely on our list to return to.

Great friendly cosy pub , great atmosphere

Nice pub and restaurant, have very large marque outside to drink in, staff very friendly, drinks all priced reasonable. Did not have food there but did have a Christmas cob form the stall outside . Tasty well worth a visit

Been before had a lovely meal. Went for Sunday lunch the meals were luke warm,also the gravy was watery. Very unhappy. On the way out from the ladies noticed a waitress carrying 2 meals from a annex building across a court yard to the pub/restaurant.No wonder meals were cold.

Decent prices for drinks, very friendly bar staff

Should have taken photos! Popped in for a lunch with our toddler. Standard chicken nugget choice for him but these were fresh, quality with panko breadcrumbs. The small person menu is lovely. We had a steak sandwich and a chicken sandwich. Again, super fresh, chicken panko’d and absolutely huge 😂 The steak was melt in the mouth, so good I asked where they got it from. Definitely will be back. And will take photos! 😂

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Andy, Georgia, Eleanor and the team for looking after us all yesterday. We had a big family party planned for months for this weekend and had arranged for the pub to do the catering for us. Due to the awful weather, Andy and Georgia offered us the marquee at the back of the pub at the last minute and got it all set up for us ready. They were so welcoming, giving us time to decorate and set everything up for the family. They had a lovely waitress, Eleanor, look after us all day, who couldn't have been more helpful and attentive. On top of that, the food was absolutely top notch and served so beautifully. We all had the most wonderful afternoon, sheltering from the storm outside whilst celebrating together as a family in such a lovely space. Thanks so much to you all for a brilliant afternoon.

We came for dinner on a Sunday. The menu is limited to roast dinners. One of our party opted for 2 starters rather than a roast dinner making it very clear that they were to come with the mains. The starters came around 10 minutes before the mains. I ordered the slow roasted pork belly. It was a decent chunk of meat but was virtually inedible. Rather than falling apart, it was so undercooked I struggled to get my knife through it. I explained this to the waiter and asked that it be swapped for a slice of turkey thinking this would be quick and simple. After a good ten minutes the dinner arrived back with a slightly better but still inedible chunk of pork. At least they had the grace to not charge us for my meal but it did spoil the occasion

We had an awful experience during our visit to this pub during Rudd fest. We arrived just before the rest of our friends so ordered them some drinks for when they arrived. They arrived at 940pm and were refused entry by the bouncers as last orders were at 10pm.... surely entry should be refused at 10 not twenty minutes before!?! Anyway we were left with 3 pints and no one to drink them so kindly explained our situation to the bar staff asking for a refund on the drinks. Enter the manager.... she was absolutely awful, she was instantly defensive and threatening and very rude. She refused to listen and told us that you're not allow to order drinks for people who aren't that, quote "well you should have all come together". After a short exchange and some rude comments from drunks hanging off the bar, she ordered that my partner be removed by bouncers despite him being calm and reasonable throughout (but obviously frustrated). We were charged £6 for the plastics cups containing our drinks that was supposed to be refundable upon return and my partner was refused this refund also. The place was full of people high on drugs. I will NEVER go back to this awful place. Its really ruined my experience of Ruddington. My advice would be to go if you are happy with bad standards of customer care and don't expect any concerns you raise as a paying customer to be met with maturity and reason.

My friend ordered me two drinks whilst I was heading to the pub, it was 9:45pm which was apparently late enough to not let anyone else in, met by rude bouncers. They then refused to refund the two drinks that I could now not drink as I wasn’t allowed in. And then dragged my friend out forcefully, for demanding a refund. Pathetic business. Pathetic actions from the pub. I’ll tell everyone to avoid it like the plague.

Lively place with lively meat feast pizza and cajun fries

It was ruddfest and despite 1000s extra people no live music was offered . Every year this was the place to be but this year no......resume live music

Booked here whilst visiting from the north west for a night. Very friendly staff and just a generally warm and vibrant atmosphere throughout the pub. Picked as had good reviews, menus on website looked wide and varied and we had a dog with us; who was also made very welcome! Reasonably priced and tasty food, good service and an all round pleasant evening. Would have given 5 stars but be warned, the menu you review on the website does not bear any resemblance to the menu that is actually available when you get there…far less choice than we were anticipating. It didn’t spoil our evening but I do think it’s something for the management to address.

Had dinner with friends on a Sunday evening. There was a nice atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful. There was a good menu choice (including vegetarian options) and also a "chippy tea" (smaller portion) selection, which was perfect. Service was prompt and the food was good.

Enjoyed a truly excellent breakfast with friends this morning. Fantastic food and great service.

Thought we would give it a try. "New farm shop opens at Nottinghamshire pub that's hoping to beef up custom." Can sit in or take out. We did the latter. two x decaf tea's and two cakes £11. Very reasonable. We wouldn't usually go in a pub during the day however they have created a welcoming reason to go in. Artisan farm shops are lovely, so can be the prices! However we did pickup some locally made Gin while we were there! We would certainly feel comfortable sitting in for tea and cake. Dogs welcome, nice and warm on a cold day. Really welcoming staff and friendly. I'm sure its early days in them setting up. Our only recommendation would be to cover over all, not just one lot, of the cakes on the front counter. The farm shop is open 10am to 3pm, Wednesday to Saturday. The pub is open for longer. It was really nice. We'd go again and feel comfortable sitting in with our tea and cake.

We hired Marquee for our sons 5th birthday party on Sunday and it was just perfect! I cannot recommend the venue highly enough! Marquee is lovely easy to to add personalised touches, plenty of space for entertainment or bouncy castle! Kids really enjoyed freshly baked pizzas and the STAFF were extremely helpful and attentive! Thank you!!

Popped in for lunch on a Saturday ..nice atmosphere and lovely menu choice from sandwiches which were super fresh to amazing pizzas or more main meal style stuff. We were a party of 4 and all very pleased with our food. Definitely will be back!

Popped in on the off chance on a Friday night. Staff very helpful and arranged a table for us as we hadn't booked. Went out of their way to sort something out. Food was also excellent,so all in all a very pleasant experience. 10/10

Limited menu be careful what you order as not all options on the Januart special and wine expensive but food very good

We used The White Horse Marquee this weekend to host our son's 4th birthday party and the staff were amazing. They sorted the space out for us, kept a never-ending supply of drinks for the grown-ups and did an amazing spread of party food for the kids including their fresh baked pizzas. Nothing was too much trouble and our little boy went to bed that night declaring he had had the best day ever. Thank you The White Horse!

Lovely family Sunday lunch at the White Horse. There were 18 of us and the communication was fantastic with regards to pre ordering. The service was excellent and the food fantastic and great value for money. I would definitely recommend the White Horse

Chose the White Horse Inn as we were staying the area. Excellent menu and some good choices for coeliacs. The staff were friendly and attentive and made sure to ask the chef for an annotated menu indicating clearly the gluten free/coeliac options. The food was delicious and the ambience in the pub which was tastefully decorated for Christmas was a lovely setting. Thank you.

Went to the fireworks display recently and I have to say they were definitely prepared. Entry fee included a hotdog or burger and there were enough staff behind the bar to cope with the large number of people to serve drinks, didnt even have to queue to long for the ladies either! Will definitely visit here again!

Myself and my husband went for a breakfast whilst the Market Fayre was on yesterday (Sat 5Th Nov 2022). Service was exceptional, and the breakfast was lovely with high quality food served cooked to perfection! Was very impressed. I have eaten at this pub for evening meals and again very lovely food. Would highly recommend this pub for food!

This is a great place to eat and the staff are really friendly and welcoming. We came with our dogs, who got a glass of treats and a water bowl too. First class burger packed with extras!

Happy, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Try the fish and chips, the batter is light and delicious and the hand cut chips are possibly the best you will ever have tasted! Amazing!

Played petanque there in tournament and had a good time and good food.

We ordered 30 pizzas/garlic bread pizzas for my 40th birthday party. They were sodelicious! They were delivered exactly on time and Andy and his team were super friendly and helpful. The gluten free and vegan options were really delicious according to my guests. There were only a few slices left at the end which were delicious cold the next day. I would definitely recommend pizzas from the White Horse as they are yummy and very good value for money! Will definitely use them again if I'm catering for a large number of people.

I was looking a pub whereI can take my dog! I found a few places in Ruddington and this was our first choice.. We did not regret at all and definitely will go back again ... The picture had taken front of the pub on the green area where we waited our son

Lovely chicken burger with fries 🍟

I ordered a "Meat Feast Pizza". When it arrived I had a sub standard doughy pizza. One piece of pepperoni on each slice, by any definition, does not make a "feast". I felt disappointed having to chew my way through primarily pizza base. On the same visit, my wife's meal was cold and my niece's burger bun was dry. The white horse is a nice pub with good reputation. It will soon be lost like this

This pub is lovely and I have visited before being diagnosed coeliac but I can not recommend coming here if you need gluten free options. The menu seems full of GF choice but upon stating I had to be sure there was no cross contamination I was told that I was 'unusually strict' (sadly it is an auto immune disease not personal choice and I cannot have one crumb) and all I could have was a burger on a GF bun with salad. The burger was very dry and it was sadly not very appetising.

We just had an amazing Sunday roast at the White Horse in Ruddington - top quality meat, veggies, perfect Yorkshire Puddings and generous servings. My nephew had the fish n chips and that was wonderful too. Great pub in a great location with a wonderful atmosphere, just wish I could go more often. 10/10 highly recommend.

Nice pub but unfortunately £11.60 for a medium white wine and a pint sorry won't be rushing back .proper ripped won't be going again .and no I don't care it was in Ruddington.

If you're vegetarian please be aware that the mushroom pasta dish marked as V is not vegetarian. It has parmesan on the top and it's mixed into the sauce. It really isn't good enough that chefs and restaurants are unaware of what is and isn't vegetarian and are mislabelling dishes. My dish was remade without parmesan, but it meant I was waiting whilst everyone else was eating. I was quite shocked they didn't give us a small discount or a free drink whilst I waited for my meal - considering this was entirely their fault and they were still completely unaware as to why parmesan wasn't vegetarian. Pretty poor customer service and standards.

Love the decor. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The service was very prompt. The Sunday roast was excellent. 1 of us had chicken, 1 had beef, and 1 had 3 types of meat. Roast potatoes were good, the Yorkshire pudding was enormous (I had to give 1/2 of mine to someone else). Cabbage, peas, a bit of broccoli, carrot and parsnip. Extremely good value. The children's roast was £5, so very good indeed. Will visit again.

Had the best Sunday lunch out ever. Chose the three meat option and extra cauliflower cheese. Was amazing. The staff was also very good and friendly. If I have to find fault I would say the gravy needs to be thicker. Otherwise faultless

I visited for a business trip lunch to find a very nice English pub that has really good food and a nice selection of drinks. The staff were very nice and it is located in a nice village.

This feels like a surprisingly good find. The atmosphere is fantastic and bar staff great. On a second visit there was live music being set up for the following night. Not yet had the opportunity to eat there but I am sure this will be remedied on my next visit.
