The Test Match in Rushcliffe

No Pinta Cha Cha beer on, Greene King IPA was in its place. There was a different cask on the bar which replaced something else. I just wish there was always at least something different on the cask. Pub was filling for diners and drinkers tonight. Good atmosphere. Children and dogs welcome.

Food was very good, ordered the sharer dishes, exceptional, staff were on song too. Definitely return and will tell my friends about this place..

Lovely staff, delicious food. Cameron, the owner is the best. There are always lovely dogs and a great atmosphere. I almost don't want to leave the review because then more people will come but the staff deserve the recognition.

Staff very friendly. Would be very happy with this pub except twice had glasses that smell of cleaning fluid (whether that’s the glasses or the beer pipes I don’t know), also the place often has a bad smell, like almost a vomitty smell depending on where you sit. Aside from that smell just in general the cleanliness is poor: sticky, smelly tables; all the chairs and upholstery are dusty and dirty in my opinion and could do with either cleaning well or replacing I don’t want to give this pub a poor review but it has disappointed me, and I have often left earlier than I would have done I haven’t had any specific issues here with staff or anything like that so I’d say my review is unbiased. I like the outdoor area but damn it was messy when I was there last (and the time before that), I even photographed just rubbish (wrappers, cigarettes) behind flowerpots and in various places, finished plates left out for hours I’d say overall the cleanliness factor is at ‘mildly revolting’ level Haven’t tried food and seem to be lots of positive reviews here so maybe I’m being overly sensitive. I’d like to drink in there regularly but damn it’s bad. I’ve even considered messaging Greene King directly because I’d like to see the place spic and span so I can enjoy it more

Food is fantastic, chef Simone is perfect and all the staff are wonderful. Very attentive making are visits a pleasure.

Came for a spot of lunch with friends and I have to say it was absolutely delicious! Lunch & a drink £10! What an absolute bargain! The food presentation was fantastic, and tasted great, top compliments to the chef Simone. Will definitely be coming back again and recommending it to all my friends and family

An Art Deco gem! Authentic 30’s revolving door entrance and angular symmetry in woodwork and lighting! Immaculately kept optics and one of the best chilled Guinness I’ve come across for a long time. Most obligingly and amiable landlord Cameron! Excellent menu prepared in a most efficient kitchen. Fair prices and vegetarian and vegan dishes available; I canning stress how important this is in s World which is growing evermore aware of the dietary impact on our habitat. To be supported!!

Change a lot since I've last been in ,nice friendly staff and good selection of beers. Fine until they turn up the music that loud you couldn't hear your self speak, time to go.

Where's my phone? Staff took a lot time out to check, then show me CCTV footage. Additionally... booked a time to call my phone to coincide with me getting back home. So cool, so thoughtful 10/10 respect x

Can't go wrong with the Test Match

Recently attended a works Christmas do at the Test Match which was brilliant. Service with a smile, amazing array of food served on the hot buffet we had and Amy bent over backwards for us.

A group of 9 of us decided to have a Christmas get together before our meeting. On arrival the tables had been reserved for our use and we were able to choose what we wanted to eat that evening. Our choices were handed to Amy, who asked if we wanted separate or group billing. Individual billing was our preference and it caused no problems. The food came out and was well presented, tasty and hot. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience, even though it was a first time for many of us . I have no issues with the excellent service from the kitchen and also the bar.

We’re a group of muddy Mtb’s, normally most pubs leave us out in the cold, well not this one !!, the hostess came out and told us to bring our bikes through the pub into a secure area and then let us inside for a refreshing few pints and a warm up!, the hospitality from them was amazing and the beer selection pretty good too…thanks guys 🙏

Had such a lovely Saturday night at the test match, Amy looked after us and I couldn’t ask for better service. Very efficient, knowledgeable about the drinks she was serving and above all so kind. Couldn’t recommend enough

Nice old fashioned building good service

Took my 92 yr old mum here for birthday lunch last week. The staff were amazing, so welcoming and friendly. Food was excellent and the pub is easy to reach and a lovely interesting old building. My mum lost her ring and I had to go back. The manager helped me look and we found it by the front door. I was so pleased. Thank you! We’ll come again.

Visited this week with sister in law and our 3 children. The staff were all really welcoming and lovely especially towards the two toddlers who just wanted to explore the pub! Big thanks to chef Leo for our lunches which were a big hit. The cheese toast was especially delicious. Highly recommend.

We use to come here regularly however the food standards started slipping and we haven’t been in for some time. Went in for lunch and a few drinks. Staff were very friendly and attentive as per usual and drinks went down a treat. Thought we’d have a bite to eat, I don’t know what you’ve done/ changed but the food was impeccable. Perfectly cooked and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Found my favourite lunch spot! Will be returning with the family every other weekend!

Charming venue, the decor is peaceful and cultured. It's not a rowdy boozer, nor is it somewhere that is always going to be crawling with punters in the day, but considering how good a place it is to eat, that's probaly for the better. Fantastic balance of class and good atmosphere. Food was superb, I'd recommend the katsu curry burger.

Even though this establishment is under new management the staff continue to be obnoxious to the local people therefore I will not be supporting them financially or in any other way which is probably due to the fact most staff are not local.

Visited for drinks for my wife’s birthday. Excellent location as close to the residential area but also right by the strip of bars and restaurants. We were well looked after and felt the drinks range was vast and competitive on price.

Great breakfast whilst watching the ladies World Cup , good vegetarian options on offer all at a great price . Definitely recommend. Just love the original art deco pub . Some lovely features .

Great food. The nachos were better than the ones at Wetherspoons. Only 3 for the atmosphere, simply because it was quiet on Sunday afternoon. I got to the quiz on a Tuesday, and it’s always busier and lively, so depends when you go. Edit -don’t get me wrong, I was happy with the atmosphere, as it was nice and quiet, the 3 stars is like a loud-o-meter. 5 would be loud, 1 would be silent

Great local pub with good food and wide selection of drinks, but what really makes it a special place is the friendly amazing service by the staff in a day where customer service is at rock bottom. Multiple TVs where you can watch sports and regular weekly events to keep you busy. Recently added a new pool table as well. Highly recommend this place.

Over priced beers, some nearing over a £5.large empty pub used to be a great pub back in the early 80's, wouldn't recommend...(Had a Sad very shallow reply from the manager I never compared the Over priced beer prices you over charge now, too those of the 80's, only that back then it was a good pub, you wouldn't find it empty on any given day or time. Yet the pub's in the local area to the Test Match today, seems to be able get customers in at this cost of living crisis. By not being profiteering as the Test Match is their prices for beers well under a fiver.. A half in the Test Match, £2.75. Rip Off. Avoid...!!)

Called in last Saturday for lunch, ordered 2 BBQ Chicken only to be told after ordering they only had one left. So changed my order to the Chicken and Bacon Club, was then told this wasn't available. Opted for the Fish and Chips. Both meals were very nice. The professionalism that the bar person dealt with the difficulty of having to tell us twice that our order was not available was quite refreshing and even offerd us a free drink each without any promting. Great service in difficult circumstances.

Lovely pub, great choice of drinks....horrendous Food. Over an hour wait and the bbq chicken looked like it had been dug up by Time team!! I'd still be chewing it now! Went straight back and cash returned, Was bloody starving aswell! Why don't Greeneking sort that side of their business out!! They know how to bloody charge!

Very nice pub with a quiet country feel at the end of a busy high street. Plenty of sport tv screens if you need that too. Excellent food, even better service as they made up for an error in the food. Brilliant manager on Sunday 30th April.

Went in for a quick pint about 4 weeks ago, and then for a coffee with my better half a bit later the same day. We enjoyed it as we haven't been in since before Covid. The pint was good and the coffee was nice and hot, so no complaints from us.

Came in to take my younger brother for his first pint on his 18th birthday. Staff were great with him showing his ID, and Amy even brought over some French fancies with candles in unprompted when the staff overheard it was his birthday. Great service and great pub.
