The best restaurants serving British food in North West Leicestershire East Midlands

I visit this place regularly, the food is great, the staff are great! If you are local to Derby or Nottingham or are going to the airport, you have to swing by and grab a cake or a breakfast!

The hot beef is the absolute best sandwich I've ever had! The staff are really friendly and welcoming, its great to see somewhere like this doing so well

Really nice people, lovely ambience. Ordered an oasis breakfast, food was cooked to high standard but was ruined by by the bacon coming buried and covered in tomatoes and beans which were all mixed in to each other.

Fantastic small restaurant with a fantastic view when seated in the comfortable chairs outside and a beautiful walk around the lake. Do not miss this place if you are in the area.

A great local village pub serving well kept beer and fantastic, honest, home cooked food with good variety on an ever changing menu. Dog friendly.

Nice place for food and drink. Visited with the family and very accommodating including child friendly with high chairs.

Service was great, really attentive. Food was exceptionally good, especially the ham hock terrine! We devoured the Sunday roast, which was the tastiest Sunday roast I’ve ever had (along with the best Yorkshire pudding I’ve ever had the pleasure of trying). We ordered all of the three desserts, all amazing dishes and the rhubarb was my favourite. Props and kudos to the chef, Adam!

My partner recently moved to CD and this is his local. Cindy, Lee and all the staff have made him feel so welcome and he often comes and has dinner here alone but feels at home here. The food is excellent, freshly made and great value and the ambiance is excellent. We often have the Sunday carvery and they always squeeze us in no matter how busy they are. The Posh Fish Finger sandwiches are fabulous! Well done for creating a great pub where everyone feels at home and welcome.

As the title says, Astounded!! Rang up to order a takeaway. Ordered a jacket potato with tuna mayo and cheese and salad. Collected it myself. £8.05 for a small jacket, a dessert spoon of tuna mayo, hardly any cheese, a very little salad... Just awful in every way... I won't be returning. I understand the business owner has to pay bills and staff, but if all the food is that bad quality and prices like that, customers will go elsewhere.

A very busy lunchtime at this popular tearoom but we waited for over an hour for our scones today. My food, when it arrived, was fine although my wife’s gluten free scone was still partly frozen. Perhaps we were unlucky but we didn’t receive any form of apology for the delay so I felt the need to cut my previous review rating. Sorry

We have eaten in dining room many times, always super tasty and nice and hot. But today due to illness, Carol kindly did us a fabulous take away, generous and tasty as always. Throughly recommend this marvelous pub, and wonderful staff. Many thanks Christine and Pat x

Lovely family run business. My regular Thursday morning stop off, friendly people, food very good (if you have toast the plates are warmed and plenty of butter in a dish) coffee hot and strong and fantastic home made cakes. Prices comparable and better than some.
