The best restaurants serving British food in North West Leicestershire East Midlands

I visit this place regularly, the food is great, the staff are great! If you are local to Derby or Nottingham or are going to the airport, you have to swing by and grab a cake or a breakfast!

Can be busy....so we always go early morning

Had a carvery two weeks running. Perfect.

Really nice people, lovely ambience. Ordered an oasis breakfast, food was cooked to high standard but was ruined by by the bacon coming buried and covered in tomatoes and beans which were all mixed in to each other.

Delightful. Took my bestie for a birthday afternoon tea. Delicious food. Superb staff and a lovely view of the lake.

Party of 8 just did a fantastic Sunday circular walk from the Ferrers Centre and Breeden (Google it) and this was half way round. It's a proper pub with great beer and friendly locals. We had food mostly the Sunday Roasts and the food did take time to come out but the reason why is it wasn't reheated or frozen but all freshly home cooked. Definitely worth the wait and it was absolutely yummy 😋🤤 we then had the baked homemade cheese cake and it just hit better. All plates were cleared! The chef even came out and talked to us and I love that. We have been before and again it was excellent so it's not a one off and we will be returning. Just go, it's worth it! 👍

Nothing short of Wow. The food has been nothing short of amazing this evening. The staff have been wonderful. Would totally recommend to everyone. The sticky toffee pudding I would give 10 out of 10 . For those who have read other reviews of mine I love my sticky toffee puddings and this one is now on the top of my list!

Service was great, really attentive. Food was exceptionally good, especially the ham hock terrine! We devoured the Sunday roast, which was the tastiest Sunday roast I’ve ever had (along with the best Yorkshire pudding I’ve ever had the pleasure of trying). We ordered all of the three desserts, all amazing dishes and the rhubarb was my favourite. Props and kudos to the chef, Adam!

My partner recently moved to CD and this is his local. Cindy, Lee and all the staff have made him feel so welcome and he often comes and has dinner here alone but feels at home here. The food is excellent, freshly made and great value and the ambiance is excellent. We often have the Sunday carvery and they always squeeze us in no matter how busy they are. The Posh Fish Finger sandwiches are fabulous! Well done for creating a great pub where everyone feels at home and welcome.

As the title says, Astounded!! Rang up to order a takeaway. Ordered a jacket potato with tuna mayo and cheese and salad. Collected it myself. £8.05 for a small jacket, a dessert spoon of tuna mayo, hardly any cheese, a very little salad... Just awful in every way... I won't be returning. I understand the business owner has to pay bills and staff, but if all the food is that bad quality and prices like that, customers will go elsewhere.

our friend and neighbour was going to be 90 so 7 of us decided to take her out. The staff were lovely, joined in with singing happy birthday. The staff couldnt do enough to ensure we were all happy, food was lovely as well!

We have eaten in dining room many times, always super tasty and nice and hot. But today due to illness, Carol kindly did us a fabulous take away, generous and tasty as always. Throughly recommend this marvelous pub, and wonderful staff. Many thanks Christine and Pat x
