Excellent service and a beautiful cream tea with the lightest, tastiest scone ever! Hubby had a jacket potato and they even weighed it for him as he is on Noon, and also told him the variety, where to source it and how they cook it. Will be returning as nothing was too much trouble and the staff were fantastic. Thank you so much

We went on Friday 23rd April, booked for 11am. We were sat in the outdoor marquee. We were all wrapped up as there was a cool breeze. But when you were in the sunshine it was warm. It was just brilliant to be out and to meet a friend whom we haven't physical seen since last March. The staff were brilliant and soo, soo friendly, service was great as always, as were the scones. The only thing I will say is that there was no need to blow on your tea before you drank it... Looking forward to visiting again...

Just as the Benito supper club restarted, we once again went into lockdown. But the wonderful staff at St Joseph’s came up with a plan, a takeaway supper club until mid December. We have sampled Indian, Italian and Greek. Last week was an English Christmas meal, every meal has been delicious. This coming Friday will be an Italian Christmas meal, so if you feel like a treat, book in early. The final week looks very special too.Thank you to everyone involved, it’s been great to put Friday on the calendar over the last month.

It was my mum's 79th birthday and I'd been recommended to try here. Obviously we couldn't sit in on 20.11.20, so I rang to enquire about a takeaway afternoon tea. They were extremely helpful and told me what was included. They told me all the cakes were homemade. I explained I'd got to drive a few miles with it, so didn't need the hot drink. They kindly deducted this off the price for me I collected it this afternoon and took it over to my mum's. We sat 2m apart at least and thoroughly enjoyed it. The sandwiches were really fresh and tasty. All the cakes were delicious. There was lots of jam and cream for the scone. Also a yummy shortbread star too.It was a fantastic boxed afternoon tea and my mum loved it It looked really lovely too, when you saw through the clear lid. We will definitely book here in 2021, to try something else. Thanks very much

Really like to visit here and during the last couple of months we've been able to go twice. Only open Thurs-Sun at the mo. There is now a marquee outside offering more seating. The staff are very helpful making sure the covid regulations are know to customers. There is a reduced menu but the food is still as good as ever. On our second visit I was tempted by the Meaty monks scone, I think that was what it was called. Really good, tender beef in a cheese scone served with salad and pickles, very filling, loved it. We'll be back as soon as we can after the Nov lockdown.

For the second year running residents (all living with some level of dementia) of a local care home enjoyed a Cream Tea. It's a celebration of International Women's Day. The fact that some of the residents remembered so fondly last year's Cream Tea & were so enthusiastic to return, is testiment to the welcome & delicious home baked cakes & scones that Kerry & her team provide. Wonderful. There is something very special about St Joseph's. If you have not yet been then go!!!!

We were looking forward to going to St, Joseph's Tearoom, but were a bit disappointed. I had the beetroot humous and the waitress told me this would come separate from the other part of the meal. It tasted nothing like humous and was very sloppy and all I could taste was beetroot. I have bought beetroot humous from a supermarket that tasted far better. My husband had soup which was also thin and watery. Sorry but this has put us off going again which is a shame.

This café is quite hard to rate as it a charitable café and runs on a not for profit basis, so the environment is quirky and not set up like a fully commercial place. However it must be said that the food was well cooked and presented well. There was a reasonable choice of drinks and some interesting specials on the board. What there is is very reasonably priced and seems very popular. I understand that it has an Italian themed meal on certain evenings, so something to try.

We went out for a lovely country trip as we had often been to the Mount St. Bernard Monastery where there is no tea room, and decided to try this as it's just down the road. It was a lovely sunny day but with a cold breeze, and there were tables outside, but we decided to go in. You pass along a rather musty corridor and the entrance isn't really welcoming. Everything is a bit oldy worldy but need a bit of updating, it could still be country but they could make it country chic, not country messy. Outside is scruffy also and could do with a clean up, to look more inviting. The staff are lovely, the menus a bit boring. After driving a fair distance as it is a bit remote, through such glorious countryside, one would hope for a much more stunning and inviting tea room, as I find surroundings seem to affect the mood of the food, when eating. Service at the table was good, but the food was nothing to write home about and the menu disappointing. However, the toasties were very tasty and the cup of tea a good one, so although basic the food is good and well served.I don't think I will go back, this didn't hit the spot for me sadly, although I had soooooo looked forward to going. There are crafts for sale but dotted all around and you have to stare over people eating to see them...all in one place could be an improvement. The place just needs a total makeover form a creative person.

First time at these tea rooms for afternoon tea with friends, early indications that all was not good when seated at a table with the most disgusting dirty stained tea cloth on it. When waiter came to take order seemed a little bemused at our request for a clean tablecloth as if that was above and beyond the norm.We had booked afternoon tea at £12.00 per person standard rate for this fare but sub standard food was the order of the day. Very below par sandwiches and cakes and we were charged an extra £4.50 for another pot of tea, which we had to chase after the order being taken. Lovely place to have lunch after visiting Mt St Bernard's Abbey. Toasties and soup were lovely. My son was happy with the kids lunch box. Service was not quick, but I think it's the kind of place for sale relaxed lunch or afternoon tea.

Had lunch with a friend , while the food was ok we were not impressed with the dismal surroundings, the table looked out onto a scruffy yard with stacked junk , old furniture and a tied up dog. The toilets were very basic and the corridors smelt. Sorry, but will not be returning.

An unexpected accidental but fabulous find whilst out walking the Charnwood Forest.A more classic tearoom would be impossible. Excellent home cooked food, plenty of proper Tea and impeccable, polite and courteous service.A perfect example of proper England, right alongside the beautiful Abbey of St. Bernard's.Will return soon to try the special Italian menu on a Friday.

Lovely setting,. Very near to Mt St Bernards Abbey. Decor very Olde Wordly with very relaxed atmosphere. Excellent scones for afternoon tea but wide choice on menu. The sort of place you want to linger over your food and enjoy the setting.

We visit this tearoom a couple of times a year and every time we have great experience. Since they started adding to the menu and supplementing their soup and cake offerings with sandwiches and jackets, it has just got better and better. Interesting soup choices and fantastic food generally

We like this place as it is usually quiet and not busy and it feels homely. They offer a few food options which are well priced, good portion sizes, served with a smile and an average taste. They do a nice cream tea but sadly they serve it with squirty cream and not clotted which did really upset me as It's not the same and I'm a tad addicted to the stuff! They are easy to get to, have a nice big-ish car park and they have some outside seating which is lovely in the summer.

A lovely tearoom and gallery in a really pleasant setting with fresh home made cakes and scones. Coffee is only from a cafetiere but none the less a lovely place to while away an hour or so.

Have been here several times for both quick coffee and lunch. Both times staff were really friendly and service fast even when they are busy. Such a lovely peaceful place whether inside or out. Usually visit after going to Mount St Bernard's monastery just up the road. Well worth a visit and food is delicious.

What a pleasant visit. We sat outside in the sun with our little King Charles and were served with cream teas. The scones, both fruit and plain, were beautifully baked and served still warm with local jam and fresh cream. The service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. A return visit is a certainty.

At St Joes you will find a little haven of peace and tranquility. The tearooms are tucked away and easily missed. Inside you will find a homely and welcoming tearoom, no rush or bustle, you feel you can just sit and take your time, not easy to find in today's fast world. The menu is simple but interesting, scone stacks and roast meat cobs yummy. Cakes all homemade. No frills or fancies, just lots of care. There are some items by local crafts people on sale. Also twice monthly there is the Italian Evening, no licence so bring you own wine, simple Italian food, delicious.

A favourite is the cheese and onion toasted sandwich, but recently an open vegetable toasted sandwich has been added to the menu and maybe my new favourite. During the lockdowns ordered afternoon tea
