Great place for a drink with the ladies in the garden room or some live music in the bar. The landlord is very hospitable and the staff very friendly. Looking forward to trying their new menu.Worth a visit.

Sadly, we were disappointed, very disappointed! We were disappointed that our booking for a table hadn’t been noticed - there was plenty of room - but this left us feeling that our custom and attendance didn’t matter and wasn’t valuable to the pub. We were disappointed that the cutlery was grotty and stained. It didn’t look as if it had been washed! Many sauce bottles were half empty. We were disappointed in the menu as the choices were sparse: steaks? There were none! My friend and I both ordered chicken and bacon salad which was supposed to come with quinoa and brown rice, topped with crispy fried onion and dressed with a salad dressing. There was no brown rice or quinoa, nor fried onion topping, nor salad dressing! When my friend asked about their absence she was told that the menu had changed! Rubbish! They just didn’t care! That was our lasting impression. The menu choices definitely didn’t match its sister pub menus, namely The Sump (Burton) and Catchems (Swadlincote). There was very little chicken and bacon on our plates and very little cucumber, which for £11.79 was daylight robbery. Any bunny would have been happy as there was plenty of lettuce! We used our 30% off voucher which basically gave us a free soft drink. We then ordered sticky toffee pudding with custard. There was nothing sticky-ish or toffee-ish about it and the amount of custard in our little jugs was mean. It tasted like any dry old piece of cake. So, as you can tell, the White Hart at Ashby has a long way to go to improve and definitely needs to “pull its socks up”. The pub is obviously a drinkers’ pub as the drinkers soon arrived in time for the quiz. Sadly, we won’t be returning nor recommending this venue. There’s plenty of worthy competition to be enjoyed in Ashby! I wonder if anyone will care to read this..?!

Called in on the of chance as we were just visiting Ashby. Very warm welcome, good choice of food for picky eaters and food allergies. Food was served piping hot and it was delicious. Definitely go there again

Fabulous place in the center of a lovely little market town. All you would expect from a pub and more - good food, excellent drinks and a good selection of well kept beers. And love the live music on a Saturday evening, makes a nice change. Euros have been excellent and this is the place to watch.

Travelled over from Leicester and what a great visit. Young lady yesterday served us and she was great. Had the starter of bbq cauliflower, wow they are banging. Really enjoyed our time there guys and looking forward to seeing you again soon

Great pub in the center of town with a great vibe. Live music at the weekends and open mike night, 1st Thursday of every month. The food is good and staff are always helpful and friendly. They know how to serve real ale and always remember the locals prefered tipple no matter how unusual it is. Recommended

Family trip to pub for lunch - 6 adults, 3 kids - friendly and welcoming staff, good value drinks and there was a delay on food but this was advised at ordering and explained by being a chef-down in the kitchen. The food arrived when promised and wasn’t rushed or thrown onto plate - care had been taken. It’s simple food but done well and good value.

Everything was good. Quiet midweek. Prices could be seen as expensive if don't have a voucher. Food was lovely and service was great

We visited with family from Australia recently to show them a classic British pub. They loved it! There is a broad range of ciders, ales and beer on draft and they also serve food. You have definitely got to find the bear in the floor!

Great service. Bar staff are great! Pub is always clean even during busy hours and there is always still a buzz when the pub is quiet. Food is also great! They always have sport showing and are happy to change to something if you ask them (as long as there isnt a main event on). They have a great quiz every wednesday. They have an open mic night once a month on a thursday which is always good fun and people always having a great time. Amazing atmosphere.

This is basically sports pub. The ambience is not very relaxing with both music and TV playing. The menu was fine and prices were reasonable. Food was enjoyed but the chips were absolutely superb and crispy

Ordered food at 1:30pm for five people, and was asked if a 45 minute wait would be okay. We said yes that's fine but it is now 3pm and still no food. We have just been offered a refund but the children are very hungry and although it's fine to wait a bit longer on a Saturday, over an hour and a half is no fun for anyone, especially with three children waiting for lunch. Good atmosphere otherwise and okay for drinks & bands instead.

Pleasant staff who did ask us if everything was ok. Menu was limited and different to website menu. Hunters chicken should have been "smothered" in BBQ sauce as menu stated but very small amount of sauce. Would have preferred home made chips rather than frozen ones . Steak,ale and mushroom pies- filling tasty but small pies and gravy that was served in a jug was very watery. Would have liked coleslaw with chicken. Indoor and outdoor seating available .

Staff are always friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere on Friday and Saturday nights is amazing but jam nights are brilliant and the talent is fantastic. Usually served by Sylv who is absolutely wonderful; always has a smile on her face and never fails to brighten our day! Would highly recommend.

Eat here often, really tasty food, nice to have a good choice on the menu, had a lovely salad and scampi and chips. Waiting time wasn’t long and the service and atmosphere is very friendly.
