Food is absolutely fantastic. I’ve been here a few times and always perfectly cooked and presented. Loved Sunday lunch but to be fair any day of the week food is great. The locals are really friendly and I didn’t feel out of place I certainly felt like part of the village family. Love it and recommend 100%

Lovely traditional pub with great food.

We have been to the Hollybush on multiple occasions and have never had anything but great service and food. Their new menu is lovely with plenty of choice and cooked to the same high standards we have come to expect. Dan is one of the best chefs out there and there and certainly makes the Hollybush a very worthwhile place to eat. Kids menu is probably the best quality we have come across as is not cheaper food but smaller portions of the same high quality food off the main menu. After two years of eating and drinking in the Hollybush still one of our favourite places to eat.

Excellent pub. It would be good to see some more Jewish inspired food on the menu given the chef’s wide ranging experience. Couldnt rate it highly enough!

If you won't accept us and our well-behaved children into your pub at 9pm, we won't spend our money with you at any other time. Ridiculous rule for a small village pub.

This is ideal for cyclists and walkers. The is in beautiful location with a 15th Century pub which gives it a warm and cosy atmosphere.

Not much choice but when the pie is so delicious who needs choice? Steak &Ale - crumbly short pastry, tender chunks of steak, lashings of rich gravy. Mmmmm 😋😋😋 Great ale - Cornish Proper Job. The young barman and his waitress sister worked their socks off, were cheerful and efficient. Bloomin fantastic - well done, thoroughly enjoyed the evening!

I visited recently with family for dinner, we go every month somewhere new. This is the only place we have been to where we will be booking again for sure!! From the friendly welcome, to the delicious food they have so got it sorted. The only constructive points I could make is, the tarter sauce with the fish & chips to be in a small side pot, instead of being placed directly on the plate, and better presentation of the desserts. Locally we have not been to a pub with better homemade desserts, they need to celebrate this by presenting them in either a bigger dish or on plates rather than crammed into small black bowels. This would ensure the rest of the pub can see them and will want to order them immediately! I would also say have a bigger desserts board and state the ones that are Homemade, we all had different ones and they were all totally delicious!! I am looking forward to visiting again very soon! Nice character pub in Breedon on the Hill. We've been on several occasions and never has the food been anything but excellent. There are always some good beers on draught too. The service is always friendly and professional. You have to watch out for the low beams, but that's all part of the charm of an old pub. Will definitely keep visiting!

The Hollybush is an all round good pub at anytime if the day/night. The food is fabulous and I couldn’t recommend it more highly. The team at the Holly Bush are always friendly and welcoming and it is well worth a visit!

We ordered 2 fish ciabatas with no rocket. The chef came out to offer just lettuce no rocket. Yes. They came with mixed leaves and rocket, no lettuce!!! What???!!! Ruined the day which was my husband's birthday.

We have been here twice; the first time there were two of us and we had lunch in the bar, the second time there were 18 (walking group) and we had the restaurant. Excellent food. Very helpful and friendly staff. it's a local, perhaps not the place for special occasions but we had two very good experiences.

We took some family for a few drinks early evening on Saturday (17/06/23) and we decided to try the food off the new menu. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food and the staff were very warm and welcoming too. Definitely worth a visit.

Last night we tried the food from the new Summer menu. We were spoilt for choice. We tried one of the many burgers, the Morroccan vegetable tart and the Cod and Chips. The food was absolutely delicious and full of fresh flavours and the sweet potato fries were soooo good. Excellent service and a warm welcome. Fully recommend!

Food is awful , service is slow, chef is useless and unapologetic when complained to , very quietly and carefully I might add.. went on a sunday .. just save yourself the trip and go somewhere else.

Went here for lunch on Bank Holiday Monday. Had a lovely lunch and the place it a lovely old pub, low ceilings and big fire place. Lovely place and great food. Service was great too.

Really friendly & welcoming pub. One of the few left that haven't overdone it with modernising. Great selection of drinks, plenty of parking and the chef is brilliant with everything he cooks.

Tucked away in Breedon on the Hill is a quaint 1600 Inn. Dropped in for a spot of food that was delicious, I had the "days special" Hake and Wedges with minted peas. The batter was incredibly light and crisp, the wedges with skin on cooked to perfection, firm on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside. My other (better) half enjoy fish and chips off the main menu. Not often she eats a full portion, but cleared her plate including the home made tartar sauce. Staff were very friendly as were the locals. Very dog friendly too. Well worth a visit.

I would certainly recommend this pub to anyone who loves good food and good beer. All food is freshly prepared and well presented. It is superb. The beer is well kept and is top quality.

Dropped in on the off chance for Sunday lunch. Despite having a couple of large groups and a full bar , they were able to fit us in. Had some gorgeous roast beef. Excellent value - great food - definitely will be back.

We had a great meal last night including the best lemon meringue pie we have tasted in a long while! All served by a lovely friendly and welcoming young lady. We sat by the cosy open fire and enjoyed the atmosphere and ambience of other friendly locals also enjoying their evening. We would thoroughly recommend and will be going back very soon.

Traditional cozy little pub! Very friendly staff, made you feel very welcome 👌🏻. Just needs a roaring 🔥 fire, on these cold days after a walk.

This place offers standard pub grub but done well. Nothing pretentious. The furnishings are quite basic but comfortable-enough. Friendly and quite efficient

Just the most quaintest of pubs. Steeped in history of the local area and also serves the best home made food. We were made to feel very welcome and we will be back!

My wife and I visited the Hollybush on a Saturday lunchtime. We both ordered Gammon, Egg and Chips. The meal was absolutely delicious with proper hand cut chunky chips two eggs and the gammon was a proper thick cut gammon steak. Cooked to perfection, and...

Small selection of veg in a bowl – no serving spoon. Roast potatoes not cooked. Mash there too (as always – but never together at home – why ?). Meat was standard, but over-cooked. OK – so not expensive but doesn’t cost any more to do it right.

Sunday lunch time, wasn't particularly busy on arrival, though food service was quite slow. Only 1 waitress working, so by the time our order was taken and the food arrived, parts of it were cold/luke warm. Tasted excellent, can't fault them there. Although having "veg toad in the hole" as 2 small vegetarian sausages in a Yorkshire pudding was disappointing, as I'd hoped for something more like vegetables in the batter. The dish of vegetables for the table, while warm, were a little undercooked as well. Had the bread and butter pudding for dessert, arrived as a small slice, and was definitely improved by the warm custard. Apple crumble was greatly enjoyed with ice cream. Overall a great tasting meal, however disappointed in the slow service and temperature of the food

Monday Pie Night.....Steak and Ale was my choice but they all looked equally delicious. A pint to accompany the meal and a cheeky pud to finish the meal off properly and we're all content and looking forward to the next Monday night. Loads of character and great hosts, a popular choice with the locals as it was pretty full....might have to book a table next time!

The staff were really great. The food was excellent. Starter of Black Pudding in seedy mustard pressed all the right buttons. Fish and chips were delicious; fresh fish, nice batter and real chips. Would gladly go back again.

Really lovely village pub that goes above & beyond for special occasions. My nephew's Christening party was held here last weekend, and the food was absolutely phenomenal. The pub did an afternoon tea and the range of savoury & sweet options were out of this world. They also catered brilliantly for dietary requirements; I'm vegan & they ensured I had a huge range of options, which were all absolutely delicious. I don't often write reviews but we were all so impressed it deserves a shout out.

We chatted to Sarah and the mum and daughter (sorry we couldn't remember your names) aswell as Dan the chef. Talking of Dan the food here is AMAZING! Real home cooked food that you can tell has been made by someone that really cares. The first time we ate there they stayed open late to cook us lunch, fantastic service. Food and drinks prices are such good value and well worth every penny. Can't wait to come back next year.

Nice village pub. Beer was well kept. Has a beer garden and accomodation. If doing Melbourne and breedon hill loop walk it's a nice place to get a drink and snacks. Staff friendly.

Brilliant pub! They’ve recently redone their outside area and it looks amazing! You can tell the amount of effort they’ve put into their pub. The food options are always really good, every Monday is pie night (and the options change weekly!)

Never a bad word to say - the pub is absolutely brilliant, great atmosphere, great service and great food. The staff are always incredibly welcoming and friendly and help out with anything that’s ever needed! The chef will always come out to check if we liked the food and is very good at catering to all diets. They also have a pie night every Monday and it’s the best pie I’ve ever had!

We came In after 3pm and we were still able to order lunch. Thanks to the chef who stayed on. It was a cosy friendly and warm place. And the food was fine. There were no problems or reasons not to go there.
