visited several nights for beer with kids while staying at swan lake lodges kids had pudding which were delicious staff were all friendly and nice customers local pub

Sunday lunch was scrumptious- well worth a visit - good sized portions . We had beef and yorkie which came with ample veg, roasted potatoes and mashed Desert didn’t disappoint- brownie and ice cream Service was also good Friendly and well worth a meal Will definitely return

Went for Tuesday night pie evening selection of different pies was good we had fish pie and steak and ale pie both delicious piping hot and plenty of fresh vegetables, rounded off by a good pint of Bass and two glasses of wine. The young waitress was lovely will definitely be going back . Have been to a lot of pubs in the area and that was the best meal we have had by far well worth a visit

Fantastic Sunday Lunch. Food was excellent good choice of meats, good choice of vegetables served. Lovely deserts even cheese and biscuits. Service first class. Best roast dinner out we have had for a long time.

Absolutely terrible land lady who speaks and treats her young staff absolutely disgustingly. It was most uncomfortable to witness such outright bullying and total disrespect to her staff. It was clear that other customers were also concerned at such behaviour by the land lady towards her young staff as they made a point of asking one young waitress if she was ok as a result of such a display of pure spiteful behaviour in front of customers. Clearly a very unpleasant experience and does not deserve custom.

Lovely fish and chips. Generous portions. Great crispy batter, the fish was lovely. Lovely bottle of red wine.

Just eaten the most divine rack of lamb with red wine sauce. It had amazing crispy skin and delicate pink meat so good. The pies were delicious and packed with rich meaty filling. Very reasonably priced. Thank you xx

We had dinner there last night and. although regulars, this was the best ever. I had prawns for starters followed by the 10 oz rump steak. Probably one of the best steaks that I have ever eaten. Lean and cooked to perfection. My wife had the beef special and she said that it melted in her mouth. All this and always a friendly welcome from Kevin, Carol and their staff.

Last minute decision to eat out for Sunday lunch. Table for 2 available. Food was very tasty, well cooked and lots of gravy. Staff very efficient and attentive. Atmosphere good and not noisy. Spotlesslt clean too. Would thoroughly recommend.

We visit friends in Swannington quite often and look forward to lunch at The Robin Hood. I really should have left a five-star review before now because we always have excellent food and service when we’re here. Today was exceptional. Alissa and Tilly always create a happy and welcoming atmosphere as they tend to our table. We can be a boisterous bunch but they join in with the laughter and smiles and are always highly professional. Today I decided to have the vegetarian option of beetroot and butternut squash Wellington and it’s one of the tastiest vegetarian meals I have had in a long time. It’s an absolute treasure to find service and tasty, good quality food at a reasonable price. Thank you so much for another great afternoon.

Myself and partner ate here on a Saturday evening. There is plenty to choose off the menu. However, I chose the Wagyu burger, which was on the specials. The burger was amazing and by far the best I've ever tasted. My partner also enjoyed his pie off the main menu. The service was also excellent as was the red wine 🍷. A lovely friendly pub. We came here for a roast today. There was plenty of options for starters and a good selection of meats to choose from. We ordered the beef. When it arrived at the table the food was perfect. There was a variety of fresh veg and extra gravy! We were made to feel so welcome and we can’t wait to come back soon. The service was fast and done with a smile. Went for an evening meal (Steak Night) on 8th June and evening meal 11th June. First : Steak night was amazing as always, steak was 1st Class and the chips/mushrooms/peas were very fresh. Plates hot as normal plus our Peppercorn Sauce (delicious) was served in a hot jugs. 2 Glasses of Wine included. Excellent value, you could not get a better steak anywhere. Evening meal with my daughter & boyfriend who visited from London and they especially selected The Robin Hood from previous meals. Husband had steak again which was just cooked right. The chicken with tarragon sauce was very tasty. Vegan Cottage Pie was top notch. Would recommend the onion rings. Overall fantastic food every time we have visited. Compliments to the chef - great job. All the staff are very friendly and helpful, great selection of beers/lagers. Carol always has a smile - it is a pleasure to go for a meal. Excellent value Next time fish & chip night!!

We booked late on a Sunday. Our meal for me and my wife was utterly fantastic, authentic and beautiful. Waitress was really pleasant. Made to feel comfortable. The Sunday dinner traditional as it was was amazing.

We are a walking group who meet up weekly and then enjoy a meal afterwards. On Tuesday we were at The Robin Hood Inn and it was fantastic. Great food, and very reasonably priced. The service was superb, quick and friendly.

I'd booked a table but we arrived a little early, and were still accommodated. As we were the first in the room, we were served very quickly. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The menu has a good selection and most nights there is a special them as well as special dishes of the day. A smaller selection of puddings. It soon got very busy, so book ahead if possible. Car park is very small and situated on a busy road.

Avoid.....Ordered beef , arrived at the table looking very pale, almost translucent. Regrettably decided not to complain and ate it. Unfortunately for me ended with food poisoning and had to have three days off work unpaid. Do not waste your time or money, owner very passive aggressive when complaining, no concern, ownership or empathy , just down right rude.

Our first visit to this pub yesterday whilst visiting family staying in the area. We all enjoyed a fantastic Sunday lunch. Delicious, homemade broccoli and Stilton soup to start, followed by roast beef or Turkey with all the trimmings - Yorkshire puddings, mash, fresh vegetables, cauliflower cheese and plenty of gravy. One of our group had the Salmon which also looked (and they said it was), delicious. It all came out in good time despite them being busy and was freshly cooked and piping hot. I’d like to also mention the 2 young waitresses who served us who were really lovely and friendly - an absolute credit to the place. Our first, but definitely not, last visit here.

The Robin Hood came to our rescue when the pub our walking group had chosen failed to open for us. At the last minute the Robin Hood arranged for 27 lunches and came up trumps. The food was excellent and very quickly served. The staff are very well organized and friendly. Many thanks!

A super meal with good service at a sensible price and an excellent bottle of wine. It happened to be Pie Night, which was a surprise and a very pleasant one.

Used to be regular visitors before something called Covid happened so good to be able to go back, and on a pie night. Excellent as ever, great value for money, friendly, efficient service and well kept draught ales. What's not to like.

Had a lovely meal here with a few friends. Recommend the chicken in tarragon sauce, well presented and tasty. Couldn't fault the cleanliness, felt very safe, great for a chilled evening and a chat.

We went for evening dinner on the 03/08/20. All covid19 measures were put in the place. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was absolutely perfect! Would definitely recommend this place.

We went for Sunday dinner and the food was fabulous as always safe and extremely clean environment cleanliness was at the forefront of the great waitress service plenty of room between tables definitely social distancing was in place to ensure their customers enjoyed their food in a safe environment highly recommended

My parents used to live near the Robin Hood Inn so we tried it out recently and it was great. The menu has lots of options, the service is very efficient, the prices very good and the food portions substantial! Hardly had enough room for dessert, but managed to fit it in :)

We spent a lovely evening with friends at the Robin hood the staff and the chef couldn't have been more helpful as I am a dairy allergic vegetarian and when I asked I was offered several choices all delicious and everything was done to give us a lovely evening we really appreciate that I can get a proper meal freshly cooked we really enjoy our visits such lovely food

This pub is amazing. I been almost 6 times with in year. Food is lovely staff are friendly puddings are really good. All in all if I go here u get a nice meal great pudding and beer or coffee ☕️ i highly recommend this place and it’s why I give it 5 .

Went up for a quick pint after walking the dog it was about 8.30 saturday. The landlord said he was shut even though people were in there getting served and drinking rude and ignorant. Wont be going again

Just wanted to say what a pleasure it is to eat at the Robin Hood in Swannington. I had Sunday Lunch there today with my parents and husband and we all said it was the nicest Sunday lunch we can remember having out. Delicious! Lots of choices and also a varied vegetarian menu. The staff are always lovely, very approachable and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We will be back again soon, possibly next week!

Stopped here before going to the football ground for lunch. Really friendly bar staff. Service with a smile. Nice warm atmosphere. Had a beautiful steak and ale pie at a great price. Asked for more gravy which was brought to me quickly and with a smile. Other members of our group enjoyed theirs too. Would definitely recommend.

Me and my partner regularly eat here , we love Fridays at the robin for our fish and chips , we eat here regularly and have now sampled many specials and the best steaks around in the area , service is great and managers and all staff make you feel very welcome , we highly recommend eating at the robin hood as well as a fantastic drink selection and all sport matches played on the big TVs in the bar area which is separte, a roaring fire awaits with friendly locals greeting you , we love visiting this fab local pub and will be visiting soon , it's 5 stars from us

After a great walk withCaterpillar Strollers we enjoyed an absolutely fantastic meal and cracking value. The service was superb and the restaurant had a lovely homely feel. I had the gammon off the lunch menu and could not fault it.

I was with a big party of walkers yesterday for our lunch time meal and ordered chicken burger with chips and ordered it with a cheese slice that when served they didn't put any cheese on it was gong to be charged £8.45 so then was charged £7.45 and I have just checked the online menu and it is priced at £4.15 so not only was I over charged I felt the size of the meal was not value for money

Went for our first visit last night with some friends. This pub is fairly near to where we live and I can't believe we have not eaten here before. We didn't realise when we went but Tuesday is 'Pie Night' - two pie meals for £12.00. I had the fish pie which was piping hot, clearly homemade, and served with lovely vegetables - a delicious meal. My friends had the steak and ale pies - again clearly home made and elliciting very favourable comments. The service was efficient and very friendly and the whole place had a cosy, friendly atmosphere. We shall definitely be returning!

Traditional pub setting with friendly and welcoming staff who always manage to fit us in when we haven’t booked. Traditional menu always cooked well and tasty. Good value for money. Often eat here when I don’t want to cook and have always enjoyed the food I’ve chosen. Seating outside and an enclosed beer garden which is more of a patio. Can eat outside if you wish.

We stopped off at the Robin Hood for a drink during a Sunday afternoon walk with our dogs. The staff were really friendly and helpful and as dog owners we were made very welcome - a parasol was brought to our table outside as it was a very hot day and our dogs were struggling in the heat.

Went last night (Tuesday) for Pie night and it was fantastic. I've lost count how many times we've eaten here on a Tuesday night! We don't have children on a Tuesday night!

Having moved back to the area a year ago we have been looking for somewhere special locally and tonight we found it! From the moment we arrived the staff were superb friendly and attentive. The food was superb could not fault it a truly amazing pub. The other customers were also very friendly and we will be returning regularly now that we’ve discovered this gem. Can not praise this pub highly enough a great find not to be missed. Thank you to all for a wonderful night.

My husband had been to this pub before with the walking club he belongs to and said it was very good. I was not disappointed, the food was lovely and hot. I had cod fillet off the lunch time menu and my husband had a burger - could not fault it. We also started with potato and leek soup which was really hot and nice with a warm roll. The staff were friendly, polite and the surroundings were nice, not modern but very nice. We will be returning and taking some friends for another meal.

Lead my walking group on a wet Tuesday and returned to the Robin Hood for an Excellent Lunch. We had pre ordered our food which arrived very quickly after our returning to the pub. The service was excellent and the food was tasty and extremely good value. We couldnt rate the Robin Hood more highly.

We were here for our Granddaughter 's 18th birthday. She works as a waitress here and was fooled into thinking that she was working. Her face was a picture. Her parents were aided by the proprietors of this friendly hostelry. There were 15 of us, food came out promptly, all different orders, cooked well, tasty and good quality. All in all a lovely evening with great food and company.

A nice 1 1/2 mile stroll from home this is a great local boozer to sit outside with a pint and the paper as well as offering a decent menu and live football on the tv, prices are great too!

Called in for a family meal as we had been before for Sunday lunch and found it to be reasonable. This time though was a bit of a disappointment. We ordered 4 carvery's, (3 small and one large). When we went to get the meals the large one came with a choice of the 3 meats available, either just one or all three, however the small ones were plated up with one small slice of meat only. I chose the beef and the lady doing the carving was complaining about her blisters on her hands hurting and on returning to our table I could see why. The beef was as tough as old boots. My grandson had the gammon which was full of inedible fat, my wife however had the turkey which she said was very nice. The ice cream for dessert was a strange concoction and really one not to be savoured as they were left uneaten. Shame really because this is a nice comfortable establishment. I suppose the adage of "you get what you pay for" is very succinct for this pub.

Mi esposa y yo visitamos la última noche y el filete de cadera este fue uno de los mejores que hemos probado en mucho tiempo, preparado a nuestro gusto. Uno de los mejores pequeños bares en la zona, tenía una estupenda comida aquí, y un par de noches a, no me puedo quejar de la manera su ran, como empresas locales sin duda vale la pena probarlo.

Simple. Quieres un sandwich, pero no uno con patatas fritas o sopa. . Nada, realmente. o. Bien; así que estos chicos (Carol y Kevin) no te dan las golosinas con ensalada vinagre vestido pero el conjunto es tan bueno. El Decker antes triple cuidados para poner el jefe; también "grandes" pero ahora tenemos 6 sectores normal de un bocata rápido (atún mayonesa) con algunas patatas fritas y es genial. Buena parte para mí, tengo que decir! La calidad de la comida y cask ale siempre excelente. Los escenarios habituales (Pedigrí) con un Bass y regular y un maldito Bar diferentes clientes hace una suavemente y relajante, agradable, experiencia. Ah, y los campos de principal caliente también son fantásticas. Las comidas de los días laborables y los domingos son bien merece una visita. Gracias al equipo en el Robin Hood! Nota para la categoría abajo; barato, pero no es un lugar barato basura: comida barata y muy sabroso!

Only a small eating area, but the tables are a good size and the staff friendly and efficient. Don't be deceived by the outside of this pub, the food is really worth trying. Good matured steaks and English fare, portions are substantial

Visited for the first time in May 2017 and enjoyed an excellent meal, served by cheerful and friendly staff. The roast lamb (choice includes beef and chicken) was accompanied by a mouth-watering selection of vegetables and succulent gravy and was very tasty and beautifully presented. Topped up with apple and rhubarb crumble, also very tasty. In summary we enjoyed a great visit in pleasant surroundings. Highly recommended

Four of us went for Pie Night last night and it was fantastic! We have been loads of times because we love their food. It's all fresh vegetables etc and the portions are really big. It's 2 pies for £10 which is great value. Delicious too! With veg mash or chips! Home cooked food, in a lovely friendly traditional pub. What more could you want and it doesn't break the bank either. The Robin Hood is a traditional pub with a welcoming environment , all staff are very friendly and wanting to please , they offer some fantastic offers and have a wide variety of specials which change regularly , food is home cooked and catered for all dietary requirements , my partner is diabetic and has many allergies they catered for all his individual needs fantastically ,we booked to avoid disappointment , food was quick and delicious it has now become part of our weekly routine to visit the Robin , so many friendly faces from all of the passing customers and locals as well ... such a welcoming environment and the management and all staff are great ... fantastic pub we would recommend to all families, couples and passing customers in the area ... the Robin Hood is the place to go .... thankyou Robin Hood team for making us feel so welcome and delivering such delicious varied food each week.

Just been here for Sunday lunch. Never been here before, was suggested by friends as they recommended the food! They weren't wrong! Had all 3 courses, with several rounds of drinks and was very reasonable cost wise. Food was lovely, well presented and plenty of it! Was a lovely relaxed atmosphere to eat and chat in. Would definitely return!

Shame the landlord was so rude, yet again!!!!The landlady is a pleasure to deal with and always accommodating. We were spoken to like rubbish because we hadn't pre booked a table, yet there were only 3 couples in the restaurant. We have been many times before and never pre booked (most weeks as we are local) and have dealt with the landlady who is lovely. Unfortunately we will not be returning!Will not be recommending the pub at all. Such a shame.Maybe the landlord would benefit from a customer service course...

Have experienced food 3 times now at The Robin Hood and have to say each time has been excellent, whether it be Sunday lunch, Steak night or Pie night the quality is perfect and everyone makes you feel very welcome! They really worked well in giving me anf my partner a lovely time. It was one of the first things i booked it through Groupon so wasn't expecting much but they really did well. As a previos professional chef i enjoyed the Rossette stlye food they placed out on that day. The chef is clearly talented and know his way around the kitchen just i wish I took some pictures to show you all.I am going to try there roast dinner in next few weeks so will update you x

We went for Wednesday night steak night. We had home made soup for starters. Lovely thick and creamy. The steak was cooked to perfection, lovely thick quality piece of steak that melted in your mouth and served with all the trimmings.
